Changing a Filter Over Time

I've had a lot of trouble with this. I'm trying to change a filter over time (i.e. make a voice get more reverberative as it continues). I've had a little luck with some filters--some of the options for the filter show up on the envelope line so I can set key frames, but more often than not, nothing shows up there at all, or what does show up there is not the option I want to change.
For example, say I want to change pitch over time. The only option that shows up that I can set key frames for is the delay rather than the pitch.
I know I'm missing something simple here.

So, I take it that you're in STP, working on a multi-track project.
In the lower left on the effects tab, go to the correct track/effect you want to change, and click the disclosure triangle to show all of the parameters. Check the box to the right of each parameter you want to change over time, and it will be added to the available envelopes.
Hope this helps!

Do u mean the differenciation operation??
if yes try to do this way.
    do 10000 times.
calculate the change over the dependent variable in small intervals.
    of  independent variable.
    dz = dz+ (d2-d1 )    " accumulate values
    enddo.
dz = dz/10000.  " divide by the number of times.

  • Changing MIDI Velocity over time to affect samples in the ES2

    Hello all!
I'm using ES2 horn samples in a track. The ES2 features crossfades between different velocity layers which is great! But I don't know how I would utilise this feature on a single sustained note.
I'm trying to create a Horn fade in on a long note across the course of a bar and it sounds a bit rubbish! I'm using automation currently and what I suspect is happening is that it is simply changing the volume of the ES2's initial sample and not changing the velocity. I want to work up from a quiet sample to a loud sample so that I get the harmonic changes that occur when a horn player does the same. Is it possible to assign velocity to a modulation control that will be variable on one note?

Ok - firstly, you have to realise that you are working within the limitations of samples.
It's no good that a real instrument can be wildly expressive during the course of a played note when played by a skilled player, but you only have a sample of a flat, static note available in your DAW.
However, what you can do in your example is set up a MIDI controller to crossfade between sample layers during the course of a note in the EXS24, using the modulation matrix. For example, you can set "Sample select" as a mod destination, with "Controller #1" as a source - now your mod wheel will select the sample layers.
You might need to go in an edit the instrument itself to get the setup you want, depending on how the source instrument is programmed.
From the EXS24 manual, for instance, it says this for sample select:
"Modulates the sample (zone) that is played.
By default, Sample Select is controlled by velocity—through the default Velocity to Sample Select modulation routing. This means that the received note velocity value determines which of the layered zones (in different velocity ranges) is heard as you play the keyboard softer or harder.
You aren’t limited to using velocity, however, to determine which sample is played. You could assign the modulation wheel source to the Sample Select destination, or use both velocity and the modulation wheel.
If you choose a continuous controller such as the modulation wheel, you can step through the velocity layers during playback. In this case, make use of the crossfade (Xfade) parameters to create smooth transitions between velocity split points.
When using multiple modulation sources, be aware that these can cause all velocity layers to run simultaneously—using up as many voices as there are layered zones. The CPU usage will increase accordingly."

  • Charting Over Time

I'd like to create a form that a person might submit several times over the course of a year.  It doesn't appear there is an option in the summary report to create a chart over time (like a line chart tracking the values of an answer over several dates).
I realize I could export to Excel and create a chart, but my goal would be able to have a summary report for people who don't know how to create charts in Excel.
We use different forms for our Veterinary Practice.  We'd like to create a form for clients who have pets in declining health or have a particular issue we are tracking.  The client would go to the form, enter their last name and pets name (we can filter the reports easily that way), and then enter numeric rating values for things like "mobility" or "appetite."  Over the course of days, weeks, or months, it would be great to see a chart that displays the change in values over time to notice downward or upward trends in health.
I know there are probably other ways to do this outside of FormsCentral, but I'm trying to keep things simple (especially for non-technical folks who may need to retrieve data).
Any other suggestions outside of FormsCentral would also be welcomed, but I'm wondering (from staff) if there are any plans to expand some of the summary reporting/charting capabilities?
    Thanks,
    Ryan

Currently the reporting ability you seek are not supported in Formscentral. As you have noted your best option is to do this work in something like Excel.

  • Face recognition over time

How does Faces deal with change of appearance over time? Am I confusing it by asking it to recognize our children as they grew up over 30 years? And when my friend grew a beard?

    Very good question!
I have about 12,000 family photos going back from 1850 to the present day. Some ancestors/descendants look like each other, most don't!
But this makes some of the suggestions from Faces quite amusing: is my granddaughter the same as her great great aunt?!
One of my grandsons is a total clone of his father, and pictures of them at the same age confuses Faces no end!
But the more photos you identify, the better Faces works, but you won't confuse it, Faces will often confuse you!

  • Filters... why they gotta change over time?

So when i'm digging for sounds (e.g. instruments). I find one i like and think... i'd like to see variations on this sound. so i go through the plug-ins list and see how i can make it butter. The one called "filters" seems perfect! it will put a filter on the sound and it will sound similar, yet different!
    But, wait!
When I apply the filters, they often change in time. E.g., "always rising" or "four bar upwards." Stuff like that. What if I just want to apply a filter that stays the same over time?
I have played around with the knobs and parameters, but couldn't figure out how to accomplish this.
Also, does anyone recommend methods for "digging?" How do you dig (for sounds)?
    tank.u.so.muuuuush.

When I apply the filters, they often change in time. E.g., "always rising" or "four bar upwards." Stuff like that. What if I just want to apply a filter that stays the same over time?
Rather than just blindly applying presets, you learn what the various parameters do so you can shape the FX to your needs and tastes.
Learn what's modulating the filter cutoff - is it a level-based autofollower? Is it an envelope? Is it an LFO? Once you understand what these are and how they work, you'll understand how to use and shape them to do what you want.

  • SSRS line chart showing premium change pct over time

  • SCEP date range reports change over time

Not really sure how to title this, but here is the scenario. I have altered a canned report to run the first Monday of every month and dump a Word file w/links into a folder. The alteration of this report is simply changing the end date to be -30 from today.
So I am getting a 30 day report of all computers that were infected. The report runs and looks to be accurate based on alerting I have setup. The problem comes when I take this report and start to drill down into the data using the links in the report. Let's
say my report shows a virus name with an infection count of 3. I can click on 3 and see a list of PCs that were infected....well not so much. If between the time the PC was infected and the time I look at the report, any of the 3 PCs were cleaned of the infection,
then they will not show up in the drilldown. So if a single PC was cleaned...the count still shows 3, but clicking on 3 only shows 2 computers now. This pretty much goes for any data on the main page.
So essentially the report is pretty useless to go back in time and see detailed info on the incidents since the status of every bit of info in that report has changed over time. I am not a SQL person, but I did have one of SQL team look at the database and
she can't see anywhere that she can pull archived data from. Any idea what direction I can point her in to get the type of reports I am looking for?

Yes, I know this is an old post, but I’m trying to clean them up. Did you solve this problem, if so what was the solution?

  • Change over time setup between operations

    Hi,
    1) In the Discrete MFG process, there 2 operations. In between there is a change over time or cleaning up time.
Where do we capture these change over or cleaning timings?
    2) If i have 2 simultaneous operations, how do we handle them in routing?
    Thanks,

  • Change over time on production line.

    Hi Experts,
We have a scenario where we need to schedule the orders also considering the changeover times on a production line from one product to another. Suppose I am producing product A on the line and my next product is B, say the change over time is 10 mins. But suppose if I am changing from product C to product B, then the changeover time is 15 mins. Similarly it is different from one product to other based on what will be produced on the line next.
    Like,
    A---->B is 10mins
    C----->B is 15 mins
D----->C is 30 mins and so on.
A big matrix exists for the same.
Is there any way that I will be able to handle this in standard SAP? Ideas will be much appreciated.
    Regards,
    Sachin

    Hi,
You need to maintain the Setup Group Key in the routing, and then in capacity levelling table you group orders by this key, and then there's a function to reduce/change setup time for each order and for the group.
Definition of Setup Group Key - transaction OP43
Definition of Setup Matrix - transaction OPDA. In here you define the "new" setup times that substitute the "old" setup times, and are setup group dependent.
In the routing opration detail in CA02 or CA01 choose the setup group key on the "general Data" part.
For the capacity levelling part, it is too complex to guide you here.

  • Does the address returned by GetDirectBufferAddress() change over time?

Let say I have a direct ByteBuffer instance allocated from the Java side using the ByteBuffer.allocateDirect(capacity) factory method. This buffer instance lasts for the entire lifetime of my application.
Can the address of the buffer change over time, for instance after garbage collection passes?
In other words, when I pass a reference to such a direct ByteBuffer to native code through JNI, will GetDirectBufferAddress() always return the same address for the same buffer during the lifetime of my application? Or somehow can the GC relocate the buffer elsewhere and the memory is pinned only when a local reference to the buffer is passed to my JNI method?
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/guide/jni/jni-14.html#GetDirectBufferAddress doesn't tell much about it.
    Thanks for any enlightenment.

  • Using chart to track changes over time

Hi, I'm monitoring the progress of recovery from injury and need to analyse changes in grip strength over time. I would like to use a chart with grip strength on the Y axis and time along the X axis.
Unfortunately, the records were not taken at regular intervals, so the chart resulting from my data gives a misleading visual of progress. For example, my dates are sometimes one week apart, sometimes two, sometimes four.
Is there a way to get the time intervals to scale properly? That is, at the moment each date is at an equal point along the X axis, regardless of how long between the two dates (3 April, 14 April, 28 May and so on). What I want is for those dates to be separated along the X axis in equivalent proportions to their relationship in time (thus 3 April would be much closer to 14 April, than 14 April is to 28 May).
My only thought is to manually extrapolate the "missing" dates and guess the grip strength on those dates. Unfortunately this will defeat the purpose of the exercise. Any help most gratefully accepted, thank you!

An XY scatter plot (third from the bottom) will preserve proportions on both axes. Connect the points with (straight) lines for a broken line graph.

    Barry

  • Effect change over time?

Okay basicly I want to make an effect change at an interval over time... Like the color key for example I want it to go up 1 color tolerance point every second so I get like this cool morph effect, how could I do this? I have seen it in a video but they did not say how. Also the time mapping I can not seem to get the yellow lone working and to add keys or watever what exactly do I have to click I read a million tutorials, Sorry I'm new to this.

  • Can a filter be applied to a video clip over time?

I'm interested in graduating a filter over a video clip. Is that possible? Say, for example, I want to blur a very sharply focussed clip at the beginning and have it last for two seconds, then progressively weaken until only the sharp footage is viewable again. Is such a thing possible with FCE4?
I'm thinking that I'd have to split the clip and apply the filter on the piece that needs it, but I'm not sure about the transitional part, the part that goes from blurred to sharp.
Any advice on this? I'm not even certain of what that technique is called

    Hi(Bonjour)!
With FCE 3.5 and later only:
Apply the filter to the clip.
Double-click the clip in timeline to open it in viewer.
You can put keyframes for filter's settings in filter tab.

  • Global Change or filter based on Min and Max dates

    Hi Guys,
Hopefully there is a genius out there that is an expert with filters and or global changes, I am after a solution and can’t work out if it is possible to do in P6.
Based on a filter (using codes to select a group of activities) I want to write a value into two date UDF Fields can I:
Run a global change to give the earliest and latest date in the group and write the result to all tasks in the group? or
Is there a mindate maxdate option in Global change or filter? Or
If these tasks were grouped in the activity view can a global change be written to fill down the dates that the summary level is displaying, which are essentially the min and max dates of the groups.
I could do this pretty easily in excel but I have over a 100 projects and doing the import one at a time is not feasible.
I could create LOE’s but as my variables are constantly changing and due to the volume also not an option.
Summary bars are not an option eithers as I am writing the UDF’s to get all the bars I want on one line,
An option for me might be to do it using Legare but I would prefer to see if I can get it done in P6 first.
    Cheers
    Rob

Yes, you can do it in one report.
I created a sample report from efashion:
Year | Lines | Sales Revenue
    2001 | Accessories | $250
    2003 | Accessories | $550
    2001 | City Skirts | $1050
    2003 | City Skirts | $1150...........
Create 2 variables 1) Count and 2) Difference:
    1) Count  as formula - =Count([Lines]) In Report
    2) Difference as formula - =Sum([Sales revenue]) Where (Max([Year]) In Report = [Year]) - Sum([Sales revenue]) Where (Min([Year]) In Report = [Year])
You can replace the formula with your report variables. Then just drag Site ID, Count and Difference variables to your report.
    Thanks
