Changing a letter shape

I am new to In Design and am trying to change the shape of a letter. I assume you need nodes but I haven't found them yet.

A better solution, in my opinion, would be to make your own font and use that character (you can probably find a way to do this as a nested or GREP style) so the type remains edidable.
Before you say you cannot make a font, see Adobe Community: [Ann] IndyFont Demo: make your own (1 character) font
This is a truly amazing script from our own regular contributor Theunis deJong, AKA Jongware. The demo will allow you to make a single character and save it as a custom font that you can apply as a character style.
For your project, type the base character on the pasteboard and scale it as required, then position it in the working window and convert it to outlines as explained above, then make your modifications before saving as your custom font.

  • How to change the letter on external HDD

    My external hard drive was originally on the F drive and with this I had all my iTunes music too. However, for some reason, my computer has stopped recognizing the F drive; the following message is displayed when trying to open this drive:
    "The drive or the network connection that the shortcut 'F Drive.ink' refers to is unavailable. Make sure that the disk is properly inserted or the network resource is available, and then try again."
    The problem I now have is that the external hard drive is now the G drive and iTunes doesn't seem to recognize the path (G:\iTunes) I have told it to use, i.e., my music is not loading properly and only a small fraction is playable.
    Can anyone help me on this matter?

    Hi
    I would recommend changing the external drive letter (G:) back to F.
    Do you know how to do this?
    After the external HDD was connected you should access the disk management and there you will see the HDD (single partitions) and the other drives.
    Then you should mark the external HDD and should change the letter to F.
    Possibly the F letter was reserved for another drive.
    In such case you have to unlock the F letter by assigning another letter to the drive which uses the F letter.

    Hello,
    '''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
    ''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)''
    * You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * Or open the Help menu and click on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item while Firefox is running.
    ''Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"''
    '''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article for that.
    ''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.''
    ''When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.''
    Thank you.

    Unsure of what you are asking.  Can you please clarify?

  • I do not manage to find the function to change a letter into exposing. I have MUSE DC 2014.2 and the menu does not display this possibility. I tried to import it IN design but that does not function either?

    I'm not clear on exactly what it is you're asking, but if you're referring to changing opacity, you can change the opacity setting for the States of a menu item via the States panel and Control Strip.

  • Changed drive letter after installation of Creative Suite, cannot open by double clicking file.

    Recently my computer died so I had to put my harddrive in another computer. The drive letter was different from my old drive. I didn't notice this at first and re-installed all my software that I wiped for a new Windows install on the partition (including the Creative Suite).
    When I tried to open another program that relied on the old install of the drive - it failed. So I changed the letter back to what it was originally as loads of programs installed on that drive relied on it.
    Of course when I changed the letter path of the drive all my Adobe Suite related files are no longer associated with the programs. When I try to manually open the file with the program - eg. E:/Program Files(x86)/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop/Photoshop.exe it doesn't set the default program, so every time I have to open photoshop and browse to the file I want to open (ctrl+O).
    Any solutions to this without installing the suite again?

    I've tried by going through this dialogue here:
    When I try to use the .exe to open the .psd it doesn't set it as a choice as if I didn't select it. I can set the default program to open it to notepad, hl2.exe etc. etc. but not the program im after.
    P.S. I don't know my login details because they are saved automatically at home. Hence new account.

  • Changed Drive Letter Still In Restore Loop

    I have an iPod mini (2nd Gen) that is in the restore loop and I have changed the drive letter. I am using Windows XP. I can read and write to the iPod. I have tried it (changing drive letter and restore) on another computer and with iTunes 10 and iTunes 8. Can anyone please help?

    ok over 100 people have look at this and on one has an answer to suggest?
    Some one must know what is going on.
    Does anyone have the files that belong on the hard drive of the mini? I think that is all that is needed for iTunes to recognize the mini.

  • Changing the JButton shape

    Hi All,
    The shape of JButton is usually a rectangle
    =========
    btnName
    =========
    but I want to change it's shape to Triangle or Circle like this
    o
    oooo
    o o
    o bntN o
    ooooooooooo
    can I do that with swing?
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    Long

    The easiest thing to do would be to create a triangular icon and put it on your button, then make the background of the button the same color as the background of the rest of your page. You may also need to remove the border by doing
    setMargin(new Insets(0, 0, 0, 0));

  • Paper size changing from letter to A4

    I have been trying to print PDF files that were created as A4 size documents in our office in Italy. When I go to print with the paper size set to Letter the printer says Please insert A4 size paper into manual feed tray. I have letter size in tray 2 and when I insert the letter size into the manual feed tray it prints fine. The printer is a HP LaserJet 4050. I am using Adobe 9. The strange part is everyone but myself and one other person, is printing fine to the same printer and the same PDF files. I have tried reinstalling the printer and Acrobat but same issues. Has anyone ever seen this or have any ideas why it would switch size even though I select Letter? I tried installing a different PDF viewer and it prints fine so is there a setting in Acrobat for this issue? I really need to be able to print these PDF's without having to run to the printer and feed paper in each time.
    Matthew

    Hi, Thanks for the hint regarding the profile - I just updated...and for responding!
    The System Preference for printing is set to A4, really that is not the issue, it is rather just one of the examples of the settings in the Address Book print window that are lost after printing.
    *Every time* I open the print dialog for printing of a contact the default setting is for US Letter, if I click on any additional fields to print (such as url, company etc), or change the font size from "Regular" to "Large"; the next time I want to print another card those settings are lost. As mentioned, I tried to save those settings in "Presets" under "save as", but upon reopening the print dialog and selecting the newly saved Preset all setting have reverted back to the defaults (US Letter, regular font size, no selection of my preference for printing the notes and company name etc).

  • Cursor changes to X shape at certain sizes

    I currently am running Photoshop CS6 on Windows 7. When I am using the Brush or Pencil tools, sometimes the Cursor will change to a curved X shape. This appears to happen at certain sizes (between 65px to250px) and then goes back to the normal circle shape when larger or smaller. The brush itself paints normally but there are times where I need to know exactly what areas it is going to color. I am using the default brushes, no custom ones.
    I have attached a picture of what the cursor looks like when it changes:
    How do I make it so that this does not occur?

    How are your Photoshop cursor settings set and does this happen for all brush types tips etc,

  • Best way to change colour of shapes

    Hi, i am using the code below:
    public static Color shapeColor; for storing the current colour
    public void paint(Graphics g)
                Graphics2D g2D = (Graphics2D) g;
                for (Shape tempS : allShapes)
                    g2D.setPaint(shapeColor);
                    g2D.fill(tempS);
            } note that allShapes is an arraylist which stores all my shapes
    In another class i call the static variable and change it according to wat the user has selected.
    My problem is that when i change the colour, the colour for all my shapes change. For example if i create a shape with the colour green and then create another shape with colour blue, both will be blue.
    Thanks for your time.

  • Know how to change the outline shape of a tooltip?

    Hi All,
    I was wondering if anybody knows how to change the shape of a tooltip popup box?
    I've implemented my own UI delegate for ToolTipUI and overridden the paint( Graphics g, JComponent c ) method which I thought would have allowed me to completely control the rendering of the tooltip, box and all. But what I discovered was that even when I did nothing inside this method, the rectangular popup window was still appearing (I stepped through the code, and the correct instance of UI was being used, not the one that may have been defined by UIManager.set( "ToolTipUI", "foo.Bar" )) After a little more investigation, I ended up in ToolTipManager.showTipWindow() which eventually calls
    PopupFactory popupFactory = PopupFactory.getSharedInstance();
    tipWindow = popupFactory.getPopup(insideComponent, tip, location.x, location.y);
    tipWindow.show();To try to overcome this, as a test I extended JButton with the following constructor:
    public TestButton() {
        super();
        setUI( new MyCustomUI() );
        ToolTipManager.sharedInstance().unregisterComponent( this );
    }but this didn't solve the problem either. Has anybody got any ideas on this?
    Cheers,
    Paul.

    Try this.
