Changing a template in iWeb,09

I have created a new Blog using iWeb,09 by using a template of the ones that come with iWeb,09.
But, cannot I change the template? I didn't find an option for that. What should I do?

You can change any page. Up to a point.
But some templates have a fixed design.
The alternative is to use an 3rd party blog. I use Thingamablog and created a blog to fit an iWeb design.

Changing template in iWeb

Hello,
1) I am attempting to change the templates of my iWeb and everytime i try, I receive the "publishing Error" message and the system crashes. What am I doing wrong?
2) I also recently erased a page but I did save it in a folder. How can i publish from that folder as I don't want to go back and create the entire page again?

Changing complete background of template in iWeb?

I am trying to change the background for the page portion of a website I am working on in iWeb 08 (Darkroom). I have been able to change the background of other templates completely, but for some reason with this template I can only change the lower portion of the template background. The upper portion remains the same medium gray linen background (basically what you see full screen without scrolling). I have a darker linen background I am trying to inset into the Inspector-page-layout-page-tile but when it is dropped in there, it doesn't change the upper half, only the lower portion(seen once you scroll down). I have changed other template's page complete backgrounds, but not this one. Anyone have any suggestions? Or should I just grab another template and re-work it so it looks like Darkroom?

The file that sits in the center of the page that you can't remove is named Darkroom_spotlight.jpg. So if you edit the Darkroom theme and remove that file I think you can do what you want. You may have to add a file by the same name that's a 1 pixel image .... The particular files are located in the iWeb application/Contents/Resources/Themes/Darkroom.webtheme/Shared folder. You'll have to open iWeb and the webtheme packages by Control-clicking on them and select Show Package Contents.
I'm make a backup copy of iWeb before making the modifications.

I'm using Word for Mac. Though there are various instructions on the Internet for modifying the templates, none make sense to me. They instruct to do something I can't follow. I change a template but can't save it to the template folder.

OK, I try to change a template using Word for Mac version 14.3.4 2011 edition.
I make a change to the template but am unable to save the darned thing to the template folder; it asks for a file name like it's a new document. I want to change the blasted template but if I can't save it as a modified template, I've accomplished nothing.
Does anyone have a solution?

How to change page template for a single page?

I create a new document based on the Pages "Reports > Business Report".
Now the first page is formatted as a "Cover" page with a larger top margin.
Via "Format > Advanced > Manage Pages..." I see there are what I assume are the "Page Templates":
- Cover
- Table of Contents
- Chapter Page
- Text Page
- Appendix
My question: How can I change the template for a single page in my document? E.g. I don't want Page #1 to be formatted as "Cover". I'd like it to be a "Text Page".
Any hints?

Just delete the Cover section and insert a Text Page.
Click on:
+Toolbar > View > Page Thumbnails+
Click on the Cover thumbnail, it will be outlined in yellow, hit delete.
It may start off with certain defaults but you do not have to accept them.

Just in-case anyone els runs into this, I figured it out... I was working from my hotel and apperantly the fire wall was not allowing anything to uplaod, but I wasn't getting an error message from iweb, it would say that everything was published succesfully even though it wasn't. Once I went home and used my connection eveything worked fine.

Can you edit a host's provided templates in iWeb?

I am looking at Hostgator to host my simple business site. They have a ton of business site templates, but apparently you need some software (like FrontPage or DreamWeaver)to edit them. Can you edit these templates using iWeb? Are there other hosts with templates that are compatible with iWeb?

Download the templates you like and use the layout to re-create the page in iWeb. Drop the images on your iWeb canvas and rearrange them.

Request offering- how can I change the template

I am trying to edit a request offering. I created a new template with different activates and wanted to apply that template to existing request offering. However, I can edit every field except
change the template which is grey out. It is a same behavior for all my service offering. I tried to delete a template and got the error down below. I do not remember I did anything unusual(if I know what I am doing with this product). When I was creating
a template I chose the option to create a new MP , use that template for a new service offering and do not remember I got any error when I published it.

You cant delete the template because it is linked/related to at least one request offering. Service offerings aren't linked with a template.
It's not possible to change the template of an existing request offering. You have two options:
Create a new template and a new request offering
Copy the existing request offering. The wizard will offer to create a new copy of the existing template.

How do I change the template for a pages document?

Once you've opened it, the opened document is no longer a template. Edit it as you would any other Pages document.
If you want to use the edited document as a Template, then , after editing, go File > Save as Template, give the new template a name, and click Save.
The old template will remain available in the location where you found it; the new one will be in the My Templartes sectionof the Templates Chooser.

In need of help making/changing a Template

Hi all
This is my first time here and i'm in need of some help with templates. i have templates to be able to put pictures on different items like iphones and mouse mats but i want to be able to change the templates back ground colour from gray to white so if the picture is too small the printer wont keep printing gray, now its either this or make some new ones. i'm using pse 11 but have no idea how to change them. Here is a pic of what i mean, no matter what i try i cant change it nor make a new one. Thanks in advance

Guess this template will not let you modify it at this stage.
Looking at your screen shot more carefully, I note that there is a little fx on the layer in the layers palette, indicating that an effect as been applied.
Let's try something else as an experiment. Go through the drill of completing the design, but leave a some gray showing.
Once you have completed this, flatten the layers. Then try to select the gray area with the magic wand tool.

MS Word 2007 Problem: Could not Change Doc Template

I started getting an error when I open a rules document through OPM. The document usually opens ok, but OPM gives the error "Oracle Policy Modeling was unable to open the document as an error occurred with MicroSoft Word: Could not change document template.
Usually, I can work in the document with no problems, but sometimes when I do the compile of the document that got this message, the compile and save works, but then Word crashes. The compiled document is available through OPM, but it thinks the document needs to be compiled on a build. I've learned to continue without compiling, otherwise Word will crash again.
Other times, the document compiles just fine with no problems with Word.
Occasionally, Word loses the Add-ins list. I've figured out how to attach it again.
Everything was fine until about 2 weeks ago. The only difference I can think of is that Word did an automatic update. I uninstalled and reinstalled OPM, but it hasn't made a difference.
I'm running OPM 10.1.0.27 on XT.

Try the following workaround:
1) Rename the word 2003 template (Policy Modeling Word Template) in c:\program files\oracle modeling\templates to another filename
- This is to force Word 2007 not to load the Word 2003 template
2) Open the Word document from Policy Modeling
- To load the Word 2007 template and attached it to the document
3) Save the document

How can I change a hyperlink in iweb site?

In my iweb site I have a hyperlink to an external page. I now want to change that link, and have it link to one of my internal pages. I changed the link in iweb, republished the files, uploaded them to my host site, but the link still goes to the original external page. How can I fix this?

Select the text or item that is the hyperlink and bring up the Inspector/Link/Hyperlink pane:
Select One of My Pages from the Link To: menu and select the page you want to link to.

Problem with Great Estate Template in iWeb

Having problems with the Great Estate template for iWeb: On the blog, the picture shows up fine, in the larger, overview version it is all blurred. The software company cannot help me, say it is a program flaw in iWeb? Has anyone else encountered this problem and how did you fix it? Thanks

I have been corresponding with the company in Lithuania for a few days and we have tried everything we could think of to solve the glitch. I am very much aware of the fact that it is a custom theme, in fact I have further customised it.
The website in question is a private one. In my home country, we are legally required to post our address on the page. I would not want to braodcast that across the Apple community, if I can help it, so that is not an option. Sorry.
I would really appreciate if someone who uses GraphicNodes templates could help me out. Thank you

Can I enlarge the size of the templates in iWeb

I use the templates in iWeb 1.1.2. Is there a possibility to enlarge the size of the standard templates sothat a template can be full screen if you publish it on the Web?

Hi Photoforce
You can make the pages as wide or long as you like in iWeb, but the size will be fixed. You can then move/adjust the template components to your desired size.
However, there isn't an easy way to resize the page to the size of the user's screen without using some form of post-publish editing and javascript.
