Changing account in icloud

Hello.  I did some research for this question but I have not found an answer. Here is my situation.
I had an ip4 and I bought an ip5.  I am using the ip4 as a touch and have been using the same user id for icloud to sync both devices. Now I want to create a new icloud account for my ip4 with a different user id.  This is what I did so far.
1. I created a new apple user id for my ip4.
2. I created a new icloud.com account under e-mail.
When I go to settings > icloud > account, I cannot change my apple user id to my new one I just created.  I read that if I press "delete account" at the bottom of the page, it will delete icloud from the ip4.  I am afraid if I do this, it will delete my whole icloud account which I am still using for my ip5.
Please help me with any suggestion I could do.  Thank you very much.

You can delete the iCloud account from your iPhone 4.  This only deletes the account from this phone, not from iCloud.  Your iPhone 5 won't be effected by this.

How can I change the icloud account on my iphone to another icloud account? Right now my phone is on one itunes account, but my icloud is on another. If I click on the icloud account on my phone, it won't let me sign out of that icloud account and login to a different account so that both my itunes and icloud accounts are the same.

  • How do I change the email account for icloud on my iphone only

How do I change the email account for icloud on my iphone6 only.  I don't want to change my ipad or my husband's iphone6.  Currently all 3 devices have the same gmail account associated with them.  I have created a new & separate apple id and I want that on my phone but I can't figure out how to delete his email from my phone.

To change iCloud accounts you have to go to Settings>iCloud, sign out, then sign back in with your other ID to create your new account.  If you want to migrate a copy of the iCloud data to the new account, start by saving any photo stream photos that you want to keep to your camera roll (unless already there) by opening your my photo stream album, tapping Select, tapping the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow), then tapping Save Image.  If you are syncing notes with iCloud that you want to keep, you'll need to open each of your notes and email them to yourself so you can later copy and paste the text into new notes created in your new account.  Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out, choose Keep on My iPhone and provide the password to turn off Find My iPhone when prompted.  Then sign back in with your new Apple ID to create your new account and choose Merge to upload the data to your new account.  Once you are on a separate account you can go to iCloud.com and delete your husband's data from your account (and he can do the same with yours).
Just be aware that the current @icloud.com email address cannot be moved to the new account, nor can the current my photo stream album (which is why you need to save any my photo stream photos you want to keep to your iPhone before signing out of the existing account).

  • How do you change the appleid account on icloud that is on the iphone?

We changed our home service providers and got a new email account.  iCloud, iStore and everything else is set up under the new email account.  However the phone still lists the old email account which is no longer active.  I cannot log into icloud under that account to get rid of it.  How do I fix the phone?

It sounds like you have to disable VoiceOver.

  • How do I change the main iCloud account on my iPad?

I need to change the main iCloud account on my iPad. I'm merging family MobileMe accounts' contacts, and need to set up multiple devices with the main iCloud family account so we will all share photos, contacts, calendars, etc, but have separate email via personal subaccounts. Trouble is I entered a sub account as the main account on one of the iPads and I can't find a way to change it.

I have the same question for a slightly different reason.
I just got an iPhone6 and set it up from an iPhone4 backup. I never really used that phone for iCloud, When iCloud first launched, I used an old earthlink email but I've since updated to a gmail address on my account.and use iCloud a lot on my iPad and laptop. But the new phone wants me to log in under the old earthlink account. I don't have that password and attempts to reset it have not worked. How can I switch the log in address so I can use the correct working address?

  • HT204053 I changed my apple id, but my ipad does not allow me to change it for Icloud, so I can't  edit my account so I can access Icloud. I was told at Apple store that I could use both Apple ids, but my old one is no longer recognized. Any suggestions?

I changed my apple id, but my ipad does not allow me to change it for Icloud, so I can't  edit my account so I can access Icloud. I was told at Apple store that I could use both Apple ids, but my old one is no longer recognized on the appleid website, so my password for my old apple id won't work.
    Any suggestions?

If you only changed the name of your ID rather than creating a new ID, just go to Settins>iCloud and tap Delete Account then sign back in with the new name.  (Deleting the account from your phone does not delete it from iCloud.  Your data will be synced back to your phone when you sign back in.)
If you created a new ID, you'll have to go to Settings>iCloud on your phone and turn all data you are syncing with iCloud (contacts, calendars, etc.) to Off.  When prompted choose to keep the data on your iPhone.  (If you are syncing iWork documents with iCloud, also open your iWork apps and turn off iCloud syncing and choose to keep the documents on your phone.)  After everything is turned off, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  Next, set up a new iCloud account using your other ID, then turn syncing for your data (contacts, etc.) back to On.  When prompted, choose Merge.  This will upload the data to your new account.
You won't lose any photos in your camera roll or photo library.  If you have any photos in your photo stream that are over 30 days old that are not in your camera roll or saved on your computer, be sure to save these to the camera roll before deleting the account.  To do so, open the photo stream album on your iPhone in the thumbnail view, tap Edit, tap all the photos you need to save to select them, tap Share, then tap Save to Camera Roll.

  • How can I change the account name in iCloud.  My email has changed and I want to change it on iCloud.

How can I change the account name in iCloud.  My email has changed and I want to change it on iCloud.

To change your iCloud ID, go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with the new ID.  This deletes the account and your iCloud data from your device, but not from iCloud.  Provided you are signing back into the same account, your iCloud data will reappear on your device when you sign back in.
To avoid losing photo stream photos, save them to your camera roll (if not already there) before deleting the account.  To do this, open your my photo stream album, tap Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, then tap Save to Camera Roll.
To change the ID on your Mac, go to System Preferences>iCloud, sign out, choose Delete for all the prompts (your data will still be in iCloud), then sign back in with the changed ID.

Hi. I tried to change my old icloud account on a new one. After reset the settings I need to enter my old Apple ID account and password, that I don't remember.
I do not remember it because when I bought the my iPhone 4s in 2011 I didn't understand how it works and asked a representative to set it up for me. The representative helped me and gave a piece of paper with login and password but I lost it a long time ago.
Before resetting the settings I turned off "Find my iPhone" function, but it anyway asks me to enter my old Apple ID and password. I have the original box, documents, receipt. So how can I solve this problem?

  • My mum set up an iCloud account and forgot the password, and this caused me to create a new account. The new account works for the App Store and all that, but I can't change the initial iCloud account without the password. Help?

My mum set up an iCloud account for my iPhone 4 but forgot the password. This caused me to create a new account, and it can be used for the App Store and iTunes and all that, but I can't change the initial iCloud account (the one my mum made). My device keeps prompting me for the password every few minutes after updating to iOS 8, and I've tried every option possible to retrieve the password, but I don't even know the answers to the security questions and I can't find the password reset email anywhere and I don't know the back up emails my mum used. I literally cannot find any legitimate way to sign out of the initial iCloud account without entering a password (which neither I nor my parents know). Is there a way for me to retreive the password or change to my new account without the password?

  • How do I change just my iCloud account?

How do I change my iCloud account on my older devices.  Please explain step by step as I am not very computer savvy.

To change the iCloud account on a device running:
iOS 6:   Go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with the new ID.  This deletes the account and your iCloud data from your device, but not from iCloud.  Provided you are signing back into the same account, your iCloud data will reappear on your device when you sign back in.  To avoid losing photo stream photos, save them to your camera roll (if not already there) before deleting the account.  To do this, open your my photo stream album, tap Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, then tap Save to Camera Roll.
iOS 7:  Go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  This deletes the account and your iCloud data from your device, but not from iCloud.  Provided you are signing back into the same account, your iCloud data will reappear on your device when you sign back in.  To avoid losing photo stream photos that are not in your camera roll, save them to your camera roll before deleting the account.  To do this, open your my photo stream album, tap Select, tap the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow), then tap Save to Camera Roll.

  • How do i change the default iCloud account on my iphone

I have an old icloud account (which was attached to an old itunes account) which is now not in use.  I have a new account which I use, however, my iphone (the old one a 4S and the new one a 5S) keep defaulting to the old icloud account.  How can I change it - it seems stuck and, as a result, my phone and mac are not fully syncing!  Any assistance would be much appreciated!

Welcome to the Apple community Louise.
If you mean that Find My Phone is asking for a password to a different Apple ID to your current Apple ID.
This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID using your current password, you don’t need access to this address if it’s previously been used with your Apple ID, once you have saved these details enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone" and delete the account from your device.
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, save it once again and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.
