Changing account types

My customer has realised after posting 150K worth transactions, that an expense account should has been marked as "Other"
When we try to change the account type to "Expense" the system shows a warning , and allows the change also.
My question is, how will the older transactions be affected when this change is made ?

If you read the warning carefully, you will know the consequence.  Generally speaking, whenever these kinds of setting change, the consistence of history will be very difficult or even impossible to maintain. However, the early change is a good thing.  It is better than if you find it many months later.
To reduce the impact, try to run all kinds of query and reports to see if anything need to be changed to make the data as clean as possible.

    Logging in to mail server “plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com” failed. This server may require an additional fee for Yahoo! POP access. For more information, visit Yahoo! Mail Plus. If you continue, you might not be able to receive messages.
    So I have tried to continue and just add the outgoing and ingoing info that the site stated and I still can't get it to work. I think the main problem is getting the POP changed to POP3?
    How do I do this. So I can use my yahoo account on the MAIL feature.
    Is there a new updated MAIL feature? I have the MAIl Version 4.1 (1076)?
    Does this only let you use Yahoo Plus mail? I don't want to upgrade since it charges you a fee to have this e-mail account.

    The top one--- I thought is for regular Yahoo mail and the other is for Yahoo Plus mail?
    SO this is not correct there are not 2 different servers? The only way to get it is by signing up through Yahoo Plus? Wow I thought there was a different way.

  • Change GL Account Type from Balance Sheet Account to P&L Statmt Account

    Hi Experts's
    We have mistakenly defined the GL account as type Balance Sheet Account type and Some postings are done on this GL, we need to change it to P&L Statmt Account, When we do that it's throwing message FH602, as below.
    Change balance sheet control in spite of account balance
         Message no. FH602
    Diagnosis
         You have changed the G/L account from a "balance sheet account" to a
         "P&L account" or conversely.
         The balance of the account is, however, not zero.
    Procedure
         Check your entries.
         If the G/L account was already posted in the previous year, execute the
         balance carryforward again for the current fiscal year. (program
         SAPF011).
    Please let me know the procedure to do this change, or do i have to run any report.

    If you are mid-year please try this:
    Balance sheet having 10000 credit balace
    try to post like this  manually
    Balance sheet account dr 10000
    to Profit and loss account 10000
    now tick the Profit and loss account and reverse the entry 
    try this in test environment first

  • Provisioning log is not available on Access request type Change Account

    Hi,
    So I have and issue when I try to submit a request to add a role to a user and I'm trying to understand what could be the reason for it.  Basically I have a workflow that works perfectly for a "Change Request".  I can see that all the steps are executed and then at the end of the request when is suppose to do the actual role assignment I see the message "Provisioning log is not available" then the approval path is finish and the request is closed but when I take a look at the user in the back end the role is not assign.  In terms of access I have try giving SAP_ALL to WF-Batch, nothing shows in Yellow or Red on SLG1 and in SPRO->AC-> User Provisioning -> Define request Type I see "Change Account" with SAP_GRAC_ACCESS_REQUEST.  What else can I do to troubleshoot this error?
    Note: I when back to the  to the AC 10.0 Pre-Implementation From Post-Installation to First Access Request and everythings looks right in terms of the AC Configuration settings.

    In my question I was referring to SPRO - GRC/access control/user provisioning / maintain provisioning settings. Those need to be setup (min. global provisioning settings) in order to have role being assigned to user at the end of path.
    Change account option you can see under request type is referring to change user master data(e.g. password/ account validity / details).
    Is this system maintain by CUA? If so settings have to be different (see CUA settings in SPRO)
    I would recommend moving to SP14 as in SP13 there were many bugs, by the way I believe the worst SP ever since beginning of AC is SP13 (maybe due to number), as it destroys many working functionality.

  • Change the Recon Account Type

    Hi,
    The users are trying to post the entry into a GL Account directly using the T Code FB50. However, the system gives the error message -
    "Account XXX in Company Code XXX is marked as a reconciliation account for account type "D" and cannot therefore be directly posted."
    When we check the GL Master using the T Code FS00, we find that the GL Code has not been marked for automatic posting. Could you please advise as to how can we change the Account Type from Recon to non Recon type. This GL Code is not intended by the users for any of the Subsidiary accounts such as Vendors/Customers.

    Hi Rajjul,
    recon account measn you can not directly post to this GL account. You need to select customer and post to this customer and system will post amount to this GL account which you have assigned in customer master.
    If you want to make direct posting to this GL account, need to remove recon type from this GL.
    Go to FS00, select GL account. Go to 'control data' tab abd remove recon account for acc type as customer. Put blank.
    and save.
    before you do this plz make sure that you have not done any kind of entry on this account.
    Now system will allow you to post directly on this GL.

  • CUP: Request type change account-  Change of user data other than roles

    Hi Experts,
    I am using the request type change account to change the user type and/or validity of the user. In the description of this request type it says I can use it to request additional access and other changes to an account. Yet when i try to change user validity.. CUP asks me to select one role when I try to submit the request..
    Is there any thing else that I need to do so that the request type works for account changes as well?

      Go to End Configuration -> End user personlization, select the checkbox next to 'Roles' and click on change. Change the 'Manadatory' dropdown to 'No'. Now, save the changes and create the change request.

    My friend, the account XXX as mentioned by you is a reconciliation account which is used for real-time integration of accounts payable/accounts receivable subledger with General Ledger.  You cannot post to a reconciliation account and it is always updated automatically when a transaction is happening in a vendor or customer area.  You understood ?
    I mean to say, when you post a vendor invoice, the vendor is credited and you debit an expense account.  However, the vendor balance gets updated in the GL account through the reconciliation account only.
    Dr.  purchase expenses    100
    Cr.  Vendor ABC               100
    So this 100 for Vendor Credit is automatically reconciled in the GL area through this reconciliation account.  It is for that purpose only and you cannot use it for any manual posting.
    If I am clear to you, go ahead and create vendor/customer masters and select the reconciliation account in each master and post transactions.

    I was given a promotional internet offer of Blast internet + TV with 12 mth of HBO promotional offer  in late May. They said that even if I move my offer will stay. It did even after the move initially until I exchanged the set-top box (because my new place required different box due to different signal type). Now they changed it to Performance pro with TV with higher bills and slower internet speed without notifying me. They even did a new credit inquiry even though I've been their costumer for over 3 years. I talked for hours with a representative and apparently no one is able to change it back to my previous plan. I am so disappointed with the service.

    Yes. Let's suppose the problematic account balance is 100 (debtor):
    DR Clearing Account 100
    CR Problematic Account 100
    After posting this journal the balance will be zero.
    After acccount correction, reverse the journal:
    DR Problematic Account 100
    CR Clearing Account 100
    After posting, the clearing account will be balanced and the problematic acccount will have a debtor balance of 100, but with the correct type.

  • Account type "iCloud" not available on my iCal

    I'm trying to sync up my iCal with my iPhone, etc.  However, while I can put an event in iCal, it will not show up on my iPhone/iPad, etc.  When I go to iCal>Preferences>Accounts>+>Account Type and hit the dropdown menu, the only options I see are "Automatic / CalDAV / Exchange 2007 / MobleMe / Google / Yahoo!"  There is no option for "iCloud". 
    When I try to create a calendar under "MobleMe" using my apple ID, I get the following error message:
    The server responded with an error.
    Access to account “[email protected]” is not permitted.
    The server responded:
    “HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden”
    to operation CalDAVAccountRefreshQueueableOperation.
    I know I'm using the correct apple ID and password.  I'm running iCal 4.0.4.  Any idea what's up?

    I do not know why it worked with the Address Book and
    not the Calendar. That confuses me too
