Changing adjustment sliders colous

I don't know if I missed anything but when using PSE 10 I find that many of the adjustment sliders are very difficult too see.  For instance if you use the spot healing tool you basically have a black slider on a black background.  Is there a way around this?

I fear there is no way to change the UI of the PSE
But PSE11 is with all new UI and bigger fonts and sliders. Why don't you go ahead and try its trail

  • Missing/changed adjustment sliders for DNG files

I am new to Lightroom. Am wondering why, when I open DNG files in the Develop Module, the basic tab is different than when I develop RAW/NEF files? With NEF files there are sliders for shadows, highlights and clipping but with DNG they are different - blacks, recovery, fill light. etc.. Why is this and is there a way to make the Basic tab the same for both (both like the NEF Basics tab)?

Your DNG files already include older Develop settings, so it's respecting those existing settings.  The recovery and fill light sliders are part of an older Process Version called PV2010.  You can update to the new PV2012 sliders by going to the Histogram panel and clicking the lightning bolt icon, or by going to the Calibration panel and selecting 2012 in the Process pop-up.
If you want an intro to process versions, have a read of this: http://members.lightroomqueen.com/Knowledgebase/Article/View/1175/189/an-introduction-to-p rocess-versions  It was written for LR4, so just ignore the exclamation mark in the bottom right corner - that's now a lightning bolt in the Histogram panel.

  • Wrong image preview while I am moving adjustment sliders in Aperture

When I move adjustment sliders, a different recently and previosly adjusted image will frequently show in the viewer while the slider is being moved.  Sometimes parts of two or more previous images will appear and sometimes in the wrong orientation. This makes it makes it impossible to see the result of the adjustment until I release the slider which is annoying.  I cannot reliably replicate the problem but it happens often.  It seems random as if the wrong image is in a cache and not refreshing properly.
    Details:
    MacPro (New) 6-core 32GB RAM, D300 Graphics OS X
    Aperture 3.5.1
Moved Library from old machine (2007 MacPro) and rebuilt library
    250K images all referenced
    Library is big (236GB)
Files are RAW Canon 5dMk3 and tend to be about 30MB
    Preferences:
    Import: standard previews
Previews: generate automatically and share when quitting (half size medium quality)
library created new previews for all images when I rebuilt it
machine will run processor and memory hard, sometimes around 90%
Might it be a poor choice of preference settings or a corrupt library?  Anyone else ever experience this condition?  I would appreciate any suggestions.

On a conceptual level, it should not be a problem, but a Preview is related to a Version, and a Version is related to one Original/Master.  There can be multiple Versions, all of which must point to a single Original.
You are not adjusting a Preview, but rather a Version.  What you see as you adjust is a new rendering of the Version, and is not the Preview you saw when you decided to adjust, I believe.
There are on the order of 8 or 9 other files related to every Original even if only one Version in the Package that is the Library. Very complex indexing going on at all times.
Please open an image, and before attempting to adjust, click on File, and choose Show in Finder -- is the Finder image the correct one?  And in the correct location?
Now attempt to adjust.  Does the image change?  If so, again us Show in Finder and check.

  • How do you change/adjust border width for all the cells in a table created in Pages?

How do you change/adjust border width for all the cells in a table created in Pages?
Note- I am trying to figure out how to create and format tables in the latest version of the Pages app on an iPad air (iOS 8.1.1.1) . Creating tables, adding or removing borders for individual/all cells in a table seems straight forward. However the default border style seems to be a heavy black line. How do I change this?
I found the option add or remove borders for all/ individual cells in a table, however I can't find any option within style/format dialogue screens for changing colour or line thickness for table cells. Likewise I can't find any clear instructions on how to do this in apple help pages or support website
Btw- I'm assuming  it is possible to customize/adjust the colour & thickness of selected lines in a table created in this app (it's fairly easy to do this word processing apps like MS Word) please let me  know if this is not actually possible in Pages

They know perfectly well what they took out of Pages '09.
    Well over 90 features.
Do you think you posting feedback is going to remind them of what they did?

  • Use scroll wheel to adjust sliders

Would like to adjust sliders via mouse scroll wheel.  I've tried on a variety of sliders and none seem to work
Yes I've found keys to adjust, but would prefer not to remove hand from mouse so often.
    Win 7
    Photoshop CC 2014 32bit
    Logitech mouse

If you mean by clicking on the arrow, bringing up the actual slider.  No, that doesn't work.  I've tried clicking various parts of the slider itself to no avail.
Have tried on numerous different adjustments, labels, filters in case that it only works on some.

  • How do I Change/adjust my mbps?

Hello everyone. I am new to this wonderful software, and still learning the ropes.
I make movies with games, and so far with every clip I put on Premiere pro, I get a terrible stutter/lag issue. The clip is smooth as gold, but when I play it on APP CS5 it lags. So I render the entire work area once or twice and then come across another problem, which happens not only when I play it but once it is exported too. It Stutters. Its like I attached the screen to the wing of a dragonfly. Hahaha
So I looked it up and apparently someone else had a similar problem. He said that to fix it he lowered his 'mbps'. Please tell me... what is mbps? How can I change/Adjust it to lower it and get smoother video?
    Thanks for your time.

  • What is happening to my Aperture adjustment sliders?

After the Lion upgrade, Aperture adjustment sliders are buggy. I can adjust an image, but when I go to the next image, the slider either has no effect or it alters the previous image I just left. The only "fix" I have found is to exit Aperture and relaunch.

  • Snap Adjustment Sliders Back To 0?

In iPhoto '11 is there a way to get the Adjust sliders to snap back to 0? Is there some kind of key you can hold down to do this? Or is the only way to simply drag an Adjustment slider manually back to 0?
    Thanks

I have no solution for that - but I get what you're saying.
What I would do, and I don't know if this would work for you, is create a playlist of podcasts, arrange them in the order you want to listen.    I know you can drag podcasts into playlists like you would with any song, and iTunes will treat them like songs - you can sort them by date added or name.        Stupid to have to workaround when it worked fine before, but this would quickly get you to the podcast you were listening to.      The "resume playback from where you left off" function will still work if you do it this way.
This is another bullet point in the long list of what's wrong with iTune11.     Today on a song I was trying to get to "show in finder", I accidentally let go on "show in iTunes store" instead.    iTunes rocketed to the store, and there was no way for me to get back to what I had been looking at before - it required conducting the same search all over again.       I don't recall this being a problem in earlier versions of iTunes, you could go back.
    Good luck !

  • Camera Raw - Adjusting sliders with scroll wheel

In Lightroom you can adjust the sliders with the scroll wheel. Is there any way to do this in Camera Raw? Or can I change the amount that is changed with the up/down arrows?

Maybe they're not hearing people ask for this specific feature very much.  Perhaps you should make an impassioned plea over at:  http://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family

  • Aperture 2.1 Sluggish Exposure Adjustment Sliders

    Description of Problem:
    1. When the Straighten Brick is applied to an image being adjusted, the Exposure Brick sliders become erratic and do not track mouse movement or the Wacom Tablet Stylus tip.
    2. This condition substantially worsens when the Highlights and Shadows Brick sliders are also applied to the image simultaneously.
    3. A similar condition appears with the combination of Crop and Highlights and Shadows.
    4. This condition is so severe that I took my Mac Pro 2 x 2.66 GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon with 4 Gig's of Apple Ram and NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT 256 Vram Computer to the Apple Store Genius Bar for diagnosis and possible repair.
    5. After my having demonstrated the problem, the Genius Team took my set of internal hard drives out of my computer and installed them in a brand new Mac Pro in the Apple Store, where the problem persisted, thus eliminating my hardware as part of the the problem.
    6. It was then suggested to me by the Genius Team that I create a new Aperture Library, trash my Aperture Preferences and re-import my images into the new Library. The sluggish and erratic Exposure sliders problem persisted!
    7. I then, on my own, created a third Aperture Library and imported only a few images. As long as the Straighten Brick is not part of the adjustment pallet, the Exposure Brick sliders behave normally, tracking the mouse or Wacom Tablet Stylus Pen tip.
However, when the Crop and or Straighten Bricks are added or combined with the Highlights and Shadows Brick sliders, the Exposure and White Balance sliders become erratic, sluggish and nearly useless.
Of note, the Enhance sliders, however, are unaffected by the above combination of Adjustment Bricks.
    8. I then tested this scenario on both the 2 x 2.8GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon and 2 x 3.2GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon Mac Pro models in the Apple Store, with extremely similar results. The later, 3.2 GHz Mac Pro with the NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT 512MB Video card installed and having 4 Gigs of Ram.
    9. I tested the scenario with my images as well as with the the sample images installed within the Aperture Application Library, both with identical results.
    10. Clearly, this phenomena is a defect in the Aperture Software, as it can easily be demonstrated independently of specific Apple hardware, and as it is very common to apply the Straighten, Crop, Highlights and Shadows adjustments to an image, renders the Aperture Application useless, as an effective workflow solution. A Professional Photographer cannot guess at the Exposure settings and or wait and hope for the adjustment slider to track mouse movement while it jumps around erratically in the process.

What you're doing simply requires more calculations than your processor can perform in an acceptable amount of time. The tradeoff of the non-destructive image editor is that every transformation you apply has to be recalculated and effectively re-applied every single time you make any change to any one of them on the stack. Given the average size of a modern camera raw file, this gets very expensive very quickly.
There are certainly ways of caching intermediate data in the interest of drawing speed, but the white balance and exposure sliders fundamentally change every aspect of the image data's interpretation and are some of the most expensive operations you can possibly perform. Not only does it have to loop through every single pixel in the image to calculate the various gamma encodings you ask it to with every little nudge of the slider, but it also has to rotate them all by however much you've asked the straighten tool to. Top that off with the fact that Aperture has never been widely regarded as a "speed demon" and you've got laggy sliders.
Try Lightroom. You'll probably find it lags at times, too.
Now try sharpening a 1MB file in Photoshop 2 running on a Quadra. Not so long ago we had to wait hours for every single trivial adjustment to our low res and completely unprintable images to complete only to discover that it wasn't what we wanted at all. This wasn't a defect, it was the result of pushing the available technology beyond its limits. I have no doubt that Aperture could and should be optimized significantly, but the fact of the matter is that artists will always find ways to saturate the bandwidth of any computer on the market, however powerful.

  • Scroll to adjust sliders

    Hi folks.
I've been reading online that lightroom has the ability to control sliders in the develop module by simply hovering over the slider and scrolling.  However this doesn't appear to be working for me.  Whenever I hover over a slider and scroll, Lightroom attempts to scroll the right panel.
    My system configuration:
    Mac
    OSx mountain lion
    Lightroom 4 (latest update)
tried for raw and JPG files
tried using the macbook pro 2 finger scroll, a microsoft USB mouse and  a MacAlley USB mouse
is there anything special I need to do to make this work?
    Thank in advance!
    Sam.

    No, Lr doesn't do that.
But you have several ways to work with the sliders:
    a) You can just drag them by the "handle";
    b) you can click on the name of a slider and modify it with the +/- key;
    c)  you can click on the number field to the right of the slider, so that the field is highlighted. Then you can either just enter a number with the keyboard; or you can use the up / down arrows to increase / decrease the values (Shift + arrow increases / decreases in larger increments);
    d) you can click on the numbers field and - while holding the mouse button down - drag with the mouse left or right. Your cursor will change to a hand icon with left / right arrow. This will slow down the sliders so that you can make a fine-tuned adjustment. This is called "scrubby sliders".
It might be that you meant this last option as "scrolling".

  • Image "flashing" as move adjustment sliders in develop mode

    using LR4.1 with iMac i7, 8gb ram, system 10.7.3.
after a few edits, 15-20, there is constant delay as the image is blanked, redrawn, blanked, redrawn, etc. This occurs with most adjustments but does not start until 10 or 12 images have been processed.
have seen this referenced before but cannot find the thread.
this did not happen with lr3.6.
    any ideas?
    thanks

We're 3 for 3 fixing this with this technique, on Mac. Thanks for reporting back.
The flashing is really getting annoying.
For example, I was cropping an image today in 4.1RC and I had already cropped several images w/o a problem.  I kept the same aspect ratio, dragged in the upper left and lower right to get close to what I wanted for the size of the crop and then clicked on the image to drag it into place.
During the drag the image flashed, a new crop rectangle was entered into the history and the actual crop radically changed.  The zoom level and the placement jumped in value.  I had to resize the crop and again attempt to move the image into the crop area.  It flashed again during the first drag operation.  A new size of crop was created and the zoom level again changed.  Rinse and repeat.  I simply could not get a proper crop.  NOTE:  During the entire 'drag' process I did not release the mouse.  The flash happened during the drag.
I have experienced this exact problem in prior instances of LR and it affected the development sliders, too.  The only remedy I have found is to exit LR and once again it will work correctly for a handful of images.  When it starts up again I immediately exit and restart.
Adobe really needs to find out what is going here and either squash this bug or let us know that 'something' besides LR is causing the problem.  Note, I have never had a similar problem in any other image editing software be it from Adobe or anyone else--just LR.

  • CS4 change adjustment layer

In CS3 it was possible to change an adjustment layer after it was created, i.e. duplicate a curves adjustment layer and then go Layer>Change to make that layer a levels adjustment layer (or some other type of adjustment layer). Is it possible to do this in CS4 and if so how?

In answer to your question about why I would want to do this, the curves to level was just an example. But in the past, with CS4, if I had an adjustment layer with a mask, that was for example, an exposure layer, and then I wanted to reduce the saturation of that same masked area, I would just duplicate the layer and change the layer content to hue/sat. Of course, there are lots of other ways to do this, copy the mask or selection and then make a new layer with a newly created mask, but those other ways all seem to be more cumbersome. I thought it was a nice feature in CS3 but apparently it does not exist in CS4 — asked the question thinking it might be some key stroke and not documented since I could find no reference to in in the documentation for CS4.
