Changing all caps text to lower case in PSE 7 ?

I have PSE 7.0, and am trying to add text to an image.  When I add the text, and type it in all in
lower case, the text appears in all capitals, in text layer, and changing
my keyboard caps lock doesn't make any difference.
However, in the layers summary box on the right side of  screen, the text appears in lower case - but when I save, or print etc, it always shows in all capitals!
Does anyone know any more about text editing in PSE 7.0?
Thanks so much!
Sasha

First of all be sure the font you're using has small letters and not just caps. If it does, then click the tiny triangle at the far left of the options bar and choose Reset Tool.

  • Changing images and folders to lower case

I modified my Apache software so that all the URL's in my websites default to lower case before I realized that my images would also be affected. I also modified it so that underscores are changed to dashes. Thus, an image located at images/Maps/South_America.png now gets left behind when the URL defaults to images/maps/south-america.png.
So I have two choices - 1) Figure out a way to exempt image links from the new defaults, or 2) rename all my images and the folders that contain them.
As I haven't yet figured out how to do the former, I need to learn how to do the latter.
So I guess we're talking about as many as three or four operations here - change all folder names to lower case, change all images names to lower case and replace underscores in folders and images with dashes.
Can anyone tell me how to get started? I believe there are lots of tools and software programs that accomplish at least some of these, but I'd like to find out which operations, if any, Apple can do first. Ideally, I'd like to dump my entire images folder into some program and let it change everything. (I've already made a backup of my images folders, of course.)
    Thanks.

  • I was in a Pages Doc and inadvertently had the Caps Lock on. How Can I change all the text I typed from Upper Case to Lower Case?

I was in a Pages Doc and inadvertently had the Caps Lock on. How Can I change all the text I typed from Upper Case to Lower Case?

    Several protocols may be used.
Here I describe two of them.
    (1) the one which I use : install and use the "Convert to Lowercase" service available in the free WordService
    (2) copy your text, paste in TextEdit and enter the Edit menu.
I guess that you will recognize the items in your English menu.
I apologize but I don't know the English items.

  • Mac keep automatically changing ALL CAPS to lower case in Pages.

MacBook Pro automaticaly changes all CAPS to lower case in Pages. It will automatically revert and I can't make the CAPS stay, regardless if I hold 'shift' and type or press the 'caps lock' key. Is there a setting where I can disable this feature?

You have not said where you are copying this from but it sounds like what you have is text that is styled by CSS on a web page or ATSUI (Apple's typographic type engine) to appear ALL CAPS.
The actual text is actually U&lc or lowercase.
    You can restyle it using:
Menu > Format > Font > Capitalization > All Caps

  • How do I change all caps to lowercase on Pages 08?

How do I change all caps to lowercase on Pages 08? Help says to use 'Lower' but I can't find it on the program.

If you have Pages '08, then you also have Numbers '08, which supports the LOWER() function.
Copy/paste your text into column B of a Numbers table, starting at B2
In cell C2, enter the formula =LOWER(B2).
Fill down to the last row containing text in column B.
Select the cells of converted text in column C. Copy
Go back to your Pages document and go Edit > Paste Values.
Unlike the Pages menu item (in the Format menu), which formats the text to display as lower case, the LOWER() Function does an actual conversion. The function works only in a table. It is probably supported in Pages tables as well as in tables in Numbers, but I haven't checked that.

Well, you can try easing the shift key up with something thin but flexible (credit card sort of thing) but if the contacts below are stuck you may need to get it seen to by an authorised repairer.
If you can borrow a keyboard (a PC one will probably work as long as the password is alpha-numeric with no special characters) you can at least get in to backup your HD before going for repair.

  • ReCapitalizing ALL CAPS Text?

Surely there's a way to do this.
It's been a very long since I've needed this function, but I distinctly remember way back when (long before Pages v1), a time when I could select a block of text which had been entered as ALL CAPS (typically something copy/pasted from another source), and reformat it to all lower case, to Title Case, to Sentence case, even to small caps -- whatever I needed to make it consistent with the rest of the document.
So far I can only get Pages' Capitalization function (via Format > Font >) to work on text which was originally entered in lower case. Any letter which was originally entered using its Shift- Capitalized form seems to be chiselled in cyber-stone.
PLEASE, please, Please tell me that Pages 2009 is not so powerless that it can't change a capitalized letter into its non-capitalized little brother?
    THANKS -- I mean, Thanks,

I still wish though that Pages had this kind of thing built-in in a more readily accessible way.
The jury is still out on whether your wish will be supported in Apple's application model. Apple has specifically sought not to make the intelligence for internationalised imaging a part of the application model, seeking instead to separate the application model from the transform model. This has been opposed by software publishers who make and market software suites, including Adobe and Microsoft. There are two application models / business models for internationalised imaging.
Apple's model has been to provide a model for the small independent developer of character-glyph transforms (fonts) and colour-colourant transforms (profiles) to make and market intelligence in a plug-and-play manner. The intelligence is in the transform itself, in what is technically termed a transform for determinate, runtime-independent rendering.
Adobe's and Microsoft's model has been to incorporate the intelligence for internationalised imaging into the software suite intended for a standalone personal computer. The font or profile is in this scenario a client of the software suite and/or the operating system. OpenType and the Windows Color System are intended to work in this way as what is technically termed indeterminate, runtime-dependent rendering.
The problem with the internationalised drawing models for Unicode imaging and ICC imaging is I suppose political, because if there is no competition between the centralised indeterminate, runtime-depent rendering model for software suites and the decentralised determinate, runtime-independent rendering model then the power of graphic information processing is harnessed to the platforms of particular software publishers.
I know this is a hippie plot hatched in Cupertino in 1988-89 ... -:)

  • GREP question: Changing all caps to proper name punctuation

    Hello,
I'm working on my subscription renewal letter.
In our mailing database, all names of people and business are in capitals. I need to change them to regular capitlization for the letter.
Example: "JOHN SMITH" should be "John Smith"
I know how to find the text, but I don't know exactly how to repace it. Help would be much appreciated.

I found a script (coding below) by Dave Saunders: http://jsid.blogspot.com/2005/08/script-of-day-smart-title-case.html
I need it to be slightly modified so that instead of applying to the selected text, it finds (?<=Dear\s|Cher\s).+

// or by creating text files named ignoreWords.txt
    // and intCaps.txt in the script's folder
    ignoreWords = getIgnoreFile(ignoreWords);
    intCaps = getIntCaps(intCaps);

  • Changing the number keys to lower case

how can I change the number keys on my air book so that I don't have to use upper case and use all the &,",' on the upper case?

  • How can I change the settings to be lower case pdf not upper case PDF?

my processing site for our business will not allow documents to be saved in upper case PDF, but I can't find where to change it to lower case pdf....which I am told will fix the issue.

Are you talking about the file-name or the actual contents of the file?

  • Yellow boxes behind all caps text

I had a Quark 6 Mac file converted to ID CS3 Win using Q2ID and when I opened it I replaced the fonts with our own, however wherever the text had the all caps feature used in Quark (I guess) there are yellow boxes behind the letters. I can get rid of them only by selected the text and clicking off the All caps (TT button).
Is there another easier way to keep them as all caps and get rid of yellow boxes?

You have highlight substituted glyphs enabled in your composition
    preferences.

  • Changing All Blue text to Red?

Is there a way to change all of my text that is in one color (lets say Blue) to a different color (lets say Red)?
    Thanks

If iMac therefore is happy, I am happy, but personally I cannot make it work with styles.

Select some of the blue text. Create a new character style called 'blue'.
Select any small bit of text. Color it red. Create a new character style called 'red'.
go back to the blue text and select any small bit. In the style drawer select all uses of 'blue'.
All blue text will be highlighted.
This does not happen for me, and I cannot see how it could happen. I must be missing something.
Let's assume that I have the text "one two three" with "one" and "three" in blue, and "two" in black.
I highlight "one" and define a character style "BLUE" from it.
When I then choose "Select all uses of BLUE", the word "three" is not selected, and I do not think it should be either.
    James Wilson7 wrote:
Then simply select the new character style 'red'.
There may be problems here if you initially had blue text in several different styles. Selecting the new character style, you may overwrite other properties, unless you take care when you define the style.
    Am I missing something here?

  • Are there any scripts to change all Caps locked items to bold?

I'm new to this program...like, 5 minutes in to using it. I make typesetted catalogs, where there are 850 or so "lots," that all have Caps locked titles. These titles also have to be in all bold. Is there any easy to take my existing text, & make it bold (like a Find/Change)?

I presume you mean the text was typed in with the caps lock key on so it is all uppercase. There are a number of ways to do this, but which to use depends on waht you have. Do these headings have a style assigned to them? They should, and if they do all you need to do is edit the style definition to use Bold. If not you can do it with Find/Change and GREP, but we need to know if there is any punctuation and whether there is any other text inthe same paragraph, or if the titles stand alone. A screen capture would help, (and take it with non-printing characters visible, please). You can embed it in a post using the camera icon on the web page like this:

  • After upgrading to 10.8.5, my laptop converts all uppercase letters to lower case automatically. How can I fix this?

I can only get the uppercase to "stick" by going back, highlighting, and changing. This is incredibly problematic for typing any work-related material. help!

Okay - this issue seems to have resolved on it's own. Yea!
I did find a thread that suggested resetting the PRAM/NVRAM so I did this, restored the external monitor to factory settings and went into Disk Utility and repaired disk permissions and verified disk permissions.
Here is a link to reset the PRAM/NVRAM: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379
These things may have helped resolve this issue. I can't tell what worked because it was hours after I did all these things that my monitor and computer decided they liked each other again. If you have a similar issue, maybe these steps will help you resolve your problem too.
    Hope this is helpful!
