Changing apple id associated with an iphone 5

I bought the new iphone5 and in the setup mistakenly tagged to the wrong apple id account. Have reset the phone a few times as well as have placed the correct Apple id in phone, but it will not download any previously paid apps. How can I do this

You can migrate her phone, along with a copy of the data, to a new iCloud account.  You will not be able to move the existing iCloud email address to the new account (if she is using iCloud for email), and you will not be able to move her backup to the new account.  She will have to create a new iCloud email address/account, and create a new iCloud backup in her new account.
To do this, start by saving any photo stream photos that she wants to keep to her camera roll (unless already there) by opening her my photo stream album, tapping Select, tapping the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow), then tapping Save to Camera Roll.  If she is syncing notes with iCloud that she wants to keep, you'll need to open each of her notes and email them to her so she can later copy and paste the text into new notes created in her new account.  Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account (which only deletes it from her phone, not from iCloud; your iPad won't be effected by this), provide the password to turn off Find My iPhone and choose Keep on My iPhone when prompted.  Then sign back in with a different Apple ID to create her new account and choose Merge to upload the data to her hew account.  When she turns on Mail in Settings>iCloud she will choose her new iCloud email account (type carefully as once created it cannot be changes).  She will also have to recreate her notes from the emails sent earlier.  Then she can back up her phone to her new account.

  • I want to change the apple ID associated with my iPhone

For many years my Apple ID was associated with my work email address. I recently retired and want to change the Apple ID associated with my phone to my personal ID (which I use with my iPad, home PC, etc.).  However, I have forgotten the old password associated with my old ID, and since I no longer have access to my previous email account, I can not request a change of password email as it will be sent to my old email account which no longer exists.  How can I delete the old ID and install the personal ID ?

  • Change Apple ID associated with an old iMac

    Hi there
I have one of the older iMac's from our studio at home and its associated with the Apple ID of someone who doesn't work for us anymore.
Consequently I don't have the details I need for the any of the software updates. Is there a way of changing the Apple ID associated with the iMac?
Thanks in advance for any help

Your iPod is not directly associated with an Apple ID.  If you used automatic syncing to load the iPod (instead of the manual "drag and drop" method), your iPod is associated with an iTunes library.  The computer (where that iTunes library resides) is then associated with an Apple ID, through the Authorize This Computer command in iTunes.
However, for your question, it really does not matter.  iTunes syncing is generally one way, from iTunes library to iPod.  You cannot use iTunes to transfer song files from iPod to computer (except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store).  However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer.  If you do an Internet search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links.  (The CNET article seems to be popular.)
Once the song files are on the computer's drive, you can add them to your current iTunes library.  At that point, if any of the songs were older purchases from the iTunes Store (when the songs were 128 kpbs AAC files) that used DRM (copy protection), you may need that old Apple ID and password to play and sync those songs.

  • Changing Apple ID associated with Applications

I use the iTunes on my boyfriends computer because he has more songs than I do. I linked my iPhone to his laptop and added a few songs. I tried downloading a new application and now his email address and password request is popping up instead of my own. How can I change back to my own Apple ID? Someone help, thanks

    1) go to computer you sync with
    2) Go to "Store" then "Sign-Out"
    3) Go to "Store" then "Sign-In"
    4) Sign-In with Your Apple ID
    5) Connect Your iPhone to iTunes and click SYNC
Every time your boyfriend connects his phone and sync make sure he is logged into his own account. When you connect your phone make sure your logged into your account.. otherwise its going to load the phone with whatever AppleID your connect to on iTunes.

  • Changing Apple ID associated with Apple Discussions

I know it's not currently possible to delete a Discussions account nor is it possible to change the alias tied to an existing account. This is most unfortunate and would fix my issue immediately, but I'm sure that this has already been discussed at length. My issue is a little different, though.
A couple of years back I used to subscribe to .Mac and created an Discussions account to use with it. I let that expire a while ago and since signed up for a MobileMe account with the same username. The old one wasn't migrated over so I did have to create an entirely new account with MobileMe. Anyway, this meant that I had to also create a new Discussions account to go along with this new Apple ID (@me.com). The thing is, my old .Mac (@mac.com) is still usable and is what I'm using to post to this board right now.
My question is about migrating the old account. Is there any way that I can somehow migrate this old account to use the new @me.com address as it's Apple ID? If I go to modify my settings through the Discussions page itself, I'm told that I can't change the Apple ID since it's tied to iChat. So now I'm stuck with a Discussions account tied to my old Apple ID but with the alias I'd like to use (this one) and a new Discussions account with my new Apple ID (the one I'd like to use to login to Discussions) but with an alias that I'd really, really, really not like to use (I thought I could change it later and created one I'd rather not have public).
Is my only option to continue using my old Apple ID to login to Discussions to keep the alias I want?
I've now got 3 different Apple IDs and it's not fun. One for Discussions, one for iTunes that I've used for all of my purchases, and now one for MobileMe. Ugh!

I don't understand exactly WHY you want to change. If it is because your email is now @me.com, then all you have to do is change it in your settings. I use mac.com as my Apple ID sign-in but I use my AOL email address.
I thought I was pretty clear in my initial post, but I guess not. I would like to change it so that I don't have three separate Apple IDs. I have one for Discussions, one for iTunes, and one for MobileMe. It's just annoying to have three separate logins for the same company.
I have already updated my contact email address to reflect in Discussions, but this does not change the login address, which is what I was complaining about.
The Apple ID is just a user name for log-in purposes; you can use just about ANYTHING as an Apple ID as long as it is formatted to look like an email address. This is shown by the fact that you have an @mac.com ID but you DON'T have an @mac.com email address.
I totally understand what it is and that's why I find it annoying that I now must manage 3 separate ones to use with Apple products/services. I never expressed any confusion as to what an Apple ID is or what they are used for. In fact, I went into great detail explaining all of the Apple IDs that I have and what they are used for. I'm beginning to wonder if you even read my post. :\
I do agree with you that the hosts here should allow account info be moved to a new account or at least the alias be moved.
Yes, as this would easily fix my issue. I could at least bring it down to two Apple IDs... I could use the same one for Discussions and MobileMe if I could just change my alias.

  • How can I change the iCloud associated with my iPhone when the email account no longer exists?

My mum had the iPhone that I'm now using for a couple of years, and the iCloud account attached to it uses an email address that was shut down by Virgin, so we can't access it any more to verify emails, etc.
Now that I'm using it, I want to assign it to my ID or even reset it, but the password my mum is certain she used won't be accepted. I looked around the community and tried to change her iCloud settings online to the old email address and then delete the iCloud on my iPhone using the new password for the new ID she now has, but it won't seem to accept any password.
Is there any way at all I can do this, or will I have to get a Genius appointment or something?
Thank you for any help you can give me!

    Hi:
Log in and click on your user name, then look at the upper the right side of the page.
Click on the triangle to the left of the "More Resources" section.
This will drop down, and give you options.
    Select User Settings.
This will now open a page, and in the light blue type on top, follow it along to Contact Information, click on that, and change your e-mail address to what you want, and hit the blue submit button on the bottom right side of the page.

  • Apple id associated with icloud on my iphone is old and different how do I change id to current

My iphone 5 has iCloud. I didn't register for iCloud or sign up an ID for it, but it apparently is using an old Apple ID associated with a closed account.  Today I tried to download Apple iOS 7 and the iCloud is telling me I need to log on to the iCloud otherwise right now I can't log on to my wifi network, I don't have my apps and need to reload them, and I have lost all information and data including personal photos saved since June on my iPhone. How can I change the Apple ID associated with iCloud on my iPhone 5 to match my current Apple ID in iTunes so I can hopefully log on my wifi network, get my apps backs, and find my data.  Why is iCloud, an app I have never used before, preventing me from logging on my wifi network and losing my data and telling me I need to reload my apps?

Try resetting the password for the Apple ID as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5787.
If you can't, you will have to contact Apple to have them reset the password so you can disable Find My iPhone and sign into your iCloud account.  You can either go to https://expresslane.apple.com, select "More Products and Services", then "Apple ID", then  on the next page select "Other Apple ID Topics", then "Lost or forgotten Apple ID password" and click "Continue"; or you can contact Apple Support (http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/).

I have two apple ID's.  One is an old one I no longer wish to use, but it is the one associated with my iPhone.  How do I change to my newer apple ID on my iPhone?

In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
If you have used your old ID to purchase content from iTunes or the App store, you may want to continue to use this ID for iTunes only to avoid losing your content.

  • How do you change the Apple ID associated with an iOS device?

So…I made the mistake of putting the wrong Apple ID (I have three – don't ask) on my iOS devices. If I try to change the Apple ID on my Mac, it wants to erase everything that I have on my Mac that is also stored on the iCloud. That is not a good solution. So, I want to change the Apple ID associated with my iOS devices (far less to lose there). The problem is that niether of my iOS devices will let me change the Apple ID associated with them – at least not that I can find.
Does anyone know how to do that so I can get my Mac on the same page with my iPhone/iPad?
    Thanks.

This is the kind of question where it helps to know what you are trying to achieve since the way you phrased the question has several interpretations.  CarolynSamit gave you one, here's another two:
Apple ID Support - http://www.apple.com/support/appleid/  -> Apple ID FAQ http://support.apple.com/kb/HE37
"How do I change my Apple ID Name or personal information?
You can change your Apple ID Name at My Apple ID. Select your country and language, enter your desired changes, then click the Continue button. Changes take effect immediately. You can also use My Apple ID to change your personal information, such as your mailing address or email address. See How to change the name you use for your Apple ID if you'd like more information."
How to change the name you use for your Apple ID - http://support.apple.com/kb/HE40
Another answer is you cannot.  Items purchased with one AppleID cannot be transferred to a different account.

  • HT201269 How to change the email address associated with an iPhone account?

How to change the email address associated with an iPhone account?  I inherited my son's phone and it still shows his phone number even though I can add my own email account.  My iCloud is also associated with his phone number.

If you mean you want to change the iCloud ID your phone is signed into on your phone (which looks like an email address), you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.
If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, and your old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • I have some apps on my iPad that were installed using an old apple ID. They can't be updated because the old ID is no longer valid. How can I change the apple ID associated with these apps?

I installed some apps using an apple I'd that is no longer active. I can't update them because it asks for the password of the old I'd instead of the I'd I currently use. How can I change the apple I'd associated with these apps? I still want to use them. One app I paid for using the old I'd. The other app is free. I have already tried deleting them and reinstalling them.

If you simply just changed the email associated with that appleid you can just delete and Re-download the apps.
You can verify  the above step by going to the App Store on device > Updates>Purchased - if you see the app there just delete it from the home screen and redownload from the purchased section
Now if you got rid of that account entirely, you will have to delete and re-purchase on your new account

  • How do I change the Apple ID associated with my iTunes account?

How do I change the Apple ID associated with my iTunes account?
I have an apple ID that i have associated with my account but I want to change it to another ID that I just created.  I needed to create this new ID so that both my wife and I can use the ID for our shared iTunes account and then we each have our own apple IDs with our own calendars, contacts, etc.

Change it on what way ? You can update the primary email address on an account by tapping on it in Settings > iTunes & App Store on an iOS device and signing into the account, via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes or via http://appleid.apple.com
If you want to log out of the account so that you can log in with a different account then tap on it in Settings > iTunes & App Store if using an iOS device and sign out, or on a computer's iTunes use the Store > Sign Out menu option. Any content downloaded by the currently logged in account will remain tied to that account, so only that account will be able to redownload it and/or download updates to its apps

I apologize, I'm a bit unclear on the exact nature of your question. If you have already changed the information associated with your current Apple ID (*not* created an entirely new Apple ID), you may find the following article about updating the various Apple ID services helpful:
