Changing artwork for artists

How do you change the artwork for artists in the 'Arist View'? Before the update I could do it under the 'Grid View' but it doesn't allow me to do that anymore. The ones I set as permanent are still permanent even after the update. So is there anyway to change the artwork for the artists?

Okay....
If you want to Alphabetize them, do this:
(1) In the library, type Command + B (this will bring up the browser),
(2) Go to the artist that starts with "The", and make sure that all the songs listed below are the same artist, and go to Edit > Select All
(3) Now type Command + I (this will bring up the information window with multiple items selected), if it asks to edit multiple items, click Yes.
(4) In the artist box, just delete "The", and you are done
(5) Click OK, and enjoy!
Do this for all the artists with "The", and FR will work right
Hope this helps,
Cory

  • Artwork for Artist is downloaded

    Hi.
I have some MP3 songs, which I tagged properly. They include Artwork, Artist, Album, ... all which is required for iTunes to properly parse and handle meta information.
Now ... when I open iTunes (Windows), select Music/Artist, I see on the left the artwork for the artists, which is taken from a song of of one of the albums for that artist. However when I do the same on my iPhone/iPad, I see a downloaded artwork for the artist (one which is not part of any song of this artist).
How can I configure iPhone/iPad to behave like iTnues in this respect, i.e. that the artist artwork used is from one of the songs and not a downloaded one.
    Thanks,

No answer ... does nobody know this, or was the question unclear (shall I rephrase)?

  • Every time I try to add album art work to some albums nothing happens, it's the same for the metadata. Nothing changes when I try to change artwork/genre/artist etc. Any help?

I can't change any of the metadata for some of my albums and see blank artwork really bugs me, I'm a little OCD about it.

That is the highest you will be able to go with 3g. You need 3gs or 4 to go any higher (multi processors and more memory needed).  Version 4.2.1 marks the end of your updates for that device.

  • Change artwork of artist in gridview

I use the artist overview in gridview a lot...
But is it possible to change the default album artwork instead of the one that iTunes has chosen?
I have iTunes for Mac 10.2.2 and whatevery I tried, it seems nothing is working...
    Ronald

Command+click the artist artwork and select "Set Default Grid Artwork"

  • Change artwork for music video

I imported a movie downloaded from a web site. The artwork was automatically generated from a frame of the movie that iTunes randomly picked. I want to add my own artwork instead, but iTunes won't let me add or delete the artwork!

That is the defult artwork. It seems to me that the only way to change the art for videos (like adding the movie poster image) is to have the video in mp4 or m4v format. You can do this by going to Advanced> Convert Selection For iPod.
Once it is in that format add the artwork to the movie by going File> Get Info> Artwork then click add (if the artwork is saved on your computer) or just click the blank area and paste the artwork in (if you are copying and pasteing). Then click OK.

  • Changing Artwork for Form

I work for a company that is closely related to its sister company (by that, I mean that I do the HR work for each company).  In that position, I am the lucky individual responsible for creating all of our forms for each company.  In the past, I have been able to create one form, then switch the artwork so that the other company also has that particular form.  I cannot find this option on the new Adobe 9 software.  I found something similar, but not equivalent by any means.  I am able to change the background by adding a new one, but it simply lays the new background on top of the old so that text, lines, images, etc. can be seen through to the top.  I have played around with the transparency, but it still doesn't work.  I'm beyond frustrated and don't have the time to make the same form twice.  In addition to that, we CONSTANTLY update these form and add new fields.  If that happens, then I am stuck making the form all over again.  Please, please, please tell me that someone has the answer, and I am just overlooking it!

Make sure you have a backup copy of your form.
Create a new or edited PDF of the form without the form fields.
You can use the 'Replace Pages' to replace the non-form field portions of the original PDF.

  • Changing artwork for a podcast published in iTunes

    Hello,
I recently created my own website in iWeb and published it to my .Mac account. Then I added a few podcasts created with GarageBand, they are also published on my .Mac website.
Then I submitted the podcast to iTunes. iTunes "took over" the artwork from the website with no author information, and there was no way in changing that during the submission. The podcast got approved but now the artwork that is used in iTunes is not really what I want. iTunes also lists "Unknown" as author.
    Have a look yourself: http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=211034820
Is there a way that I can change that? Yes, I have read the techspecs provided by Apple, but I do not really want to go down to bits and bytes and, above all, want that everythings continues to run automatically. I do not want to make manual changes to code everytime I republish the site.
Thanks for your suggestions, happy New Year by the way. Cheers,
    Jean-Paul

    Hi Jean-Paul,
Although I haven't actual experience yet in publishing to iTunes, I would guess that to update your podcast series artwork there, it is simply a question of dragging a new image to the top-most placeholder in your iWeb podcast page. As the message says when you mouse-over that placeholder: "Drag a new image here to replace it." ...Then re-publish your site to .Mac.
The next step is extracted from someone else's post:
...Then you are supposed to ping iTunes and check back in an hour.
Here's the ping url if you don't have it...
    https://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/pingPodcast?id=YOURFEEDHERE
The "YOURFEEDHERE" is where you put your feed number from iTunes. It's in your acceptance email that iTunes sent you when your podcast was posted.
    <<<<<<<<<<
...But whatever image you drop into that particular iWeb theme's placeholder, it will appear distorted in iTunes because the iTunes artwork holder is square, not rectangular - as your placeholder and image is. Try using iWeb's "White" template podcast page instead of your current template. The White's top-most placeholder is square (245x245 pixels) and therefore should not distort your image in iTunes.
By the way, Jean-Paul, I listened to the first episode of your "Flyfisherjournal" podcast on iTunes and found it both interesting and enjoyable - even though I've never fished before in my life! And the "tiny part of eternity" you mentioned can be found in any situation - by simply paying attention to the shapes and colors in your peripheral vision. With that practice, instead of just looking, you are also aware of yourself looking...

  • Changing artwork for submitted podcast

    Hi
I have submitted a podcast URL is https://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/lynn-coxs-podcast/id555988938 and would like to know how I go about changing the artwork image that is now appearing to something else.
    thanks

The image URL in your feed is podcastanagrammaticalunsods.podomatic.com/images/pcast240.jpg
The image which shows appears to be a default Podomatic image:
If this is the image you specified then all you have to do is to specify a new one in the same place (give it a different filename). However some of these online services insist on placing their own image instead of yours: I don't know whether Podomatic is one of them.

  • How do I change artwork and album name for a playlist?

I can't figure out how to do this:
I like to make cd-length playlists (essentially "mix cds") with songs that I own. I make new artwork for the mix cd, and for categorization, I like to change the Album Name and Album Artist to whatever I've named the mix (i.e., "songs about trains").
However, if I do this, the individual songs no longer appear with their original albums, since I've changed the info on them.
So essentially what I want to do is make a copy of the songs. I don't mind if they take up extra space on my hd. How do I do this easily?
I know I can just burn the cd and rip it, but then I have to rename every single song, which is a pain.
Is there an easier way? I imagine many other people like to make mix cds like me...
    Thanks.

The reason I need to change the file name is we want the breadcrumbing name to change and the breadcrumbing is linked to the file name.
I don't understand this reason. How would changing the file extension solve your breadcrumb issue? Why don't you explain the issue in more detail.

  • ITunes duplicating artwork for same artist but different song.

iTunes is automatically adding artwork to another song of the same artist in my library. I import artwork for one track of an artist and iTunes applies that artwork to all tracks by the same artist. This is silly. They are all singles and I want each track to have the proper artwork.
I have tried deleting the duplicated artwork and adding its own but that doesnt help. I tried restarting iTunes as well.

Thanks for your help but its doesnt really apply to me.
Let me try to be more clear. I have 100 SINGLES that I have in an album that I named "1980 Top 100". I do this because I have 1981, 82, 83, 84..and so on.
Within this album I have a few artist with 2 or 3 singles. iTunes is automatically adding the artwork for "Air Supply - All Out Of Love" to "Air Supply - Lost In Love". I should be able to add a different artwork for each single an artist has within this album. However, I cannot seem to force iTunes to use the artwork I want for a track of the same artist.
THE REASON I BELIEVE THIS CAN BE FIXED:
From those 2 tracks by Air Supply, they each are showing different artwork in their info. Coverflow seems to be grouping the artists.
EDIT: In another album Im getting this:
CoverFlow is not grouping the artist but it is using the same artwork for both even though they each have their own separate artwork in the info...

  • Artwork for one artist display's on another artist's info. I cannot remove

Hi. I'm using itunes version 7.3. I noticed that when I click on Billy Idol's Greatest Hits, the artwork for ZZ Top's Greatest Hits appears. When I thried to clear the downloaded artwork for Billy Idol and correct it, ZZ Top's artwork remained. (It does also appear correctly on the "ZZ Top Greatest Hits" songs when I cllick on them.) I cannot remove the wrong artwork from the Billy Idol songs on my library. Nor can I download the correct artwork for Billy Idol. Is is possible it is incorrectly set-up for download on the itunes store? Or is it my system? I appreciate any input.
    Thanks, Glenda

  • I Can't Get Artwork For Albums

    Hello Folks,
I am new to this forum and did a search but didn't find any results pertaining to my issue. I just bought a new Ipod Classic and am now in the process of importing numerous music cds that I have collected over the years. In that process I am finding that when I select "get artwork" from the menu in Itunes, it is not getting all of my albums artwork. Can anyone help me with this one? The albums I have are not that old that they would be so out of date, I don't think.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Ok, so if I understand correctly, I want to look for one at a time each album that I don't have artwork for on the ITunes Store sight to see if they sell it, then change or match what they call the album and tracks exactly to what I have in my library? Then after doing that re-request the artwork search again? For those that I do not find for sale at the Store, then I can do a Google image search on those? If so, can you give me some details on how to do an image search on Google?
Visit images.google.com and enter the album name (and the artist, if it's not a distinctive album). You can also look for artwork at Amazon and Wikipedia.
It seems odd that when I now request the artwork download that the albums that are missing are not old, that old, so it must have to do with the exact matching of song names and title.
It doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the age of the CD — the iTunes Store only sells music they have the rights to. There are thousands of popular and recent CDs the Store doesn't sell — Radiohead and Garth Brooks, for instance.

  • Problems With Inserting/Changing Artwork - Help Requested

    OK...let me set this up...
I currently have approximately 3500 files. When I first starting importing my CD's, I didn't see the need for what I saw as superficial information that I would never need or want. Just song title and artist. Then, sometime ago, I got interested in adding artwork to my files. Back then, it wasn't as important and I kind of didn't take the time to really spend on the files to get what would be quality artwork for all of my files. However, all got artwork and it worked fine.
Fast forward to more recent times, and I decided to improve the artwork for those that I took a more lackadaisical approach previously. Now, I have finished going over them, but I seemed to have some issues with about two dozen files, and it is most perplexing. Any help would be greatly appreciated...
What the issue is that I can't alter the artwork for these two dozen files. I have copy/pasted artwork in the INFO box, and have even tried deleting what was there previously, but to no avail. In addition, I can insert artwork with MPFreaker, and have iTunes show it, but if I alter ANY of the other information in either MPFreaker or iTunes (album, title, etc...), the artwork disappears. However, this does not appear to be the same issue as other issues that I have read about as I researched this seeking an answer. For one thing, it's only the artwork that can't be altered. Other information can be altered with no problem. These are not locked files in the Finder. Also, the permissions are the same as the rest of the other 3400+ files. In addition, I even took the additional step and set the permissions to the iTunes Music folder and then selected "Apply To Enclosed Items" to make sure that all have the same permissions, but to no avail.
The files also play with no apparent problem.
Any help or insight would be most greatly appreciated. If anyone needs any additional info, just ask or check the info about my setup below.

OK...some additional information for those that come across this....
After some more checking, I realized that even though I could change/save other TAG information on the file within iTunes, it was not saving it with the file...When I made changes and then checked with another program, those changes were not reflected, although some of the reverse was true - changes made in the TAG program were not always recognized in iTunes. So in frustration, I opened the file within a sound editor and then faked a change (copy/paste/undo) and then saved....at that point, the file was properly recognized in iTunes.
    Hope this helps someone.

  • ITunes 10.0.7.21 shows a white box instead of artwork for most of my albums.  Many of these are albums I purchased on itunes.  Also when I hit get album art it deleted the artwork it already had form many albums and says it cant find it.

    OS is Windows 7
I updated iTunes the other day and I decided to run "get album art" and instead of finding artwork, it made some of the artwork I already had show up as white squares, or disapear entirely.  The ones that are white squares show up under the get info, but not in itunes.  I did click in view for show al artwork, no luck.  Many of these albums I bought from iTunes.  The ones that the artwork was deleted some albums I can buy on iTunes, but already owned, and iTunes found the artwork before, but now cannot.  Some are albums that I spent many hours finding and adding the artwork myself.  I am very frustrated.  I cannot find the time to manually install artwork for thousands of songs.
My work computer is Windows 8, so I really don't want to hear windows vs OSX argument.  My company won't switch to mac because you like it better, so I just need a solution to my issue.  iTunes it has always worked better for me on my work PC than my macBook, I dont know why, but I don't take two laptops with me when I travel so I have my iTunes library on the PC that has to come with me.  This is the first time an update has screwed things up for me.

Well my first guess was wrong. The line that failed is the one that writes out the image to disk. I've not revisited the code for that script for ages, but it seems I did add in an extra test for missing files a little while later, then forgot to upload the change. I can reproduce the error message if I deliberately rename a file to confuse iTunes so that seems the most likely reason for your problem with the script. I've uploaded a new build of CreateFolderArt which should work better.
See FindTracks for a tool to repair broken links. You should probably get that issue fixed first.
I know what SPSS stands for but that is all I know about it.

  • I have just updated my Ipod to the latest ios.(deleting everything) and using different sources to get my music back it seems that every time i select multiple/individual songs on itunes i can change artwork but will not show up on my ipod?

I have a windows 8 computer and have recently updated my ipod to the latest ios and it has wiped my Ipod clean except for my photos. whilst trying to get my music back using different sources like CD's and stuff i cant seem to get any album art to load on my Ipod? I can go on itunes and highlight single/multiple items and change the artwork and my computer will confirm it but when I look on my Ipod it doesnt display any art work or allow me to change the artwork that is already there? i need help please!

Album artwork can be added/changed on songs via the iTunes Get Info menu item from the File menu. Note that music that you loaded from CDs will not have any artwork. If you want to aquire artwork you can try the File menu item Library > Get Artwork or you can download artwork from the internet, etc. Note that just changing artwork on your computer won't affect the iPod until you sync.
If the artwork is correct on your computer iTunes then delete all the music on your iPod by syncing with iTunes with no music selected. Then reload the music onto your iPod by again syncing with iTunes with all the music you want selected.
