Changing artwork for submitted podcast

Hi
I have submitted a podcast URL is https://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/lynn-coxs-podcast/id555988938 and would like to know how I go about changing the artwork image that is now appearing to something else.
thanks

The image URL in your feed is podcastanagrammaticalunsods.podomatic.com/images/pcast240.jpg
The image which shows appears to be a default Podomatic image:
If this is the image you specified then all you have to do is to specify a new one in the same place (give it a different filename). However some of these online services insist on placing their own image instead of yours: I don't know whether Podomatic is one of them.

  • Changing artwork for a podcast published in iTunes

    Hello,
I recently created my own website in iWeb and published it to my .Mac account. Then I added a few podcasts created with GarageBand, they are also published on my .Mac website.
Then I submitted the podcast to iTunes. iTunes "took over" the artwork from the website with no author information, and there was no way in changing that during the submission. The podcast got approved but now the artwork that is used in iTunes is not really what I want. iTunes also lists "Unknown" as author.
    Have a look yourself: http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=211034820
Is there a way that I can change that? Yes, I have read the techspecs provided by Apple, but I do not really want to go down to bits and bytes and, above all, want that everythings continues to run automatically. I do not want to make manual changes to code everytime I republish the site.
Thanks for your suggestions, happy New Year by the way. Cheers,

    Hi Jean-Paul,
Although I haven't actual experience yet in publishing to iTunes, I would guess that to update your podcast series artwork there, it is simply a question of dragging a new image to the top-most placeholder in your iWeb podcast page. As the message says when you mouse-over that placeholder: "Drag a new image here to replace it." ...Then re-publish your site to .Mac.
The next step is extracted from someone else's post:
...Then you are supposed to ping iTunes and check back in an hour.
Here's the ping url if you don't have it...
    https://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/pingPodcast?id=YOURFEEDHERE
The "YOURFEEDHERE" is where you put your feed number from iTunes. It's in your acceptance email that iTunes sent you when your podcast was posted.

...But whatever image you drop into that particular iWeb theme's placeholder, it will appear distorted in iTunes because the iTunes artwork holder is square, not rectangular - as your placeholder and image is. Try using iWeb's "White" template podcast page instead of your current template. The White's top-most placeholder is square (245x245 pixels) and therefore should not distort your image in iTunes.
By the way, Jean-Paul, I listened to the first episode of your "Flyfisherjournal" podcast on iTunes and found it both interesting and enjoyable - even though I've never fished before in my life! And the "tiny part of eternity" you mentioned can be found in any situation - by simply paying attention to the shapes and colors in your peripheral vision. With that practice, instead of just looking, you are also aware of yourself looking...

  • Coverflow artwork for video podcasts

How do you set the artwork for a video podcast so it will show within the itunes library? I'm not talking about the end user setting the artwork but the podcast creator. Seems that itunes uses the first frame of video as a default but I have seen other video podcasts have a specific picture, not the first frame of video, as their artwork. Example, subscribe to Creative Cows Final Cut Pro Podcast and there is a picture in your podcast library.
    Here is my xml file
    http://www.ci.lakeville.mn.us/podcasts/meetings/podcast.xml
I use Lemonz Dream's "Podcast Maker" to create the xml files.

No bites on this one yet? . . . Okay, I'll have a go.
So what you want to do is set the artwork for your podcast . . . Fairly easily done, but you first need to understand something about artwork for your podcast FILE versus artwork for your feed XML. (They are two completely separate things!) In the case of what you want, your XML code (and the artwork linked therein) doesn't matter because it doesn't affect the podcast file once it has been put into a podcatcher of some sort (e.g. iTunes). The artwork from your XML is only really of use to the iTMS and sundry web readers. So, have no worries about what method/program you are using to create your code or the validity of your file.
To set/change an individual episode's artwork you actually have to edit the .mov (or whatever) file. Hold on - that's not as scary as it may sound. First, do you already have the artwork that you want to use? Or do you want to capture a "good" frame from your video and use that? If you already have artwork, awesome. If you want to use a certain frame from your video, all that you need to do is play your video and freeze it on the desired frame and take a screen capture. (To take a screen cap, use Print Screen or Alt+Print Screen on a PC; or Command-Shift-3 or Command-Shift-4 on a Mac -- crop it if needed, and save the file as a jpeg/gif.)
After you have your desired artwork lined up, all you need to do is open your .mov in iTunes. Right- or Ctrl-click on the file, and select the option "Get Info." A window should come up - the last tab will say "artwork." Select the artwork tab, select and delete the pre-fab iTunes issue artwork, and then click "add." This will allow you to select the file of your desired artwork. After you've added the artwork, click "okay." Your file has been successfully modified, and is now ready to be uploaded!
And ta-da, when someone downloads your podcast file, the artwork will show up when they play the file (or in coverflow). Why? Because the artwork is now part your video file, and it is included in the download of your podcast.
More info, and possibly less confusion, about what is going on with this topic can be found here. (When you're reading it, just replace "MP3" with "MOV" in your head.)

Please always post the URLs of the Store page and the feed when you have a question. For reference, your feed is at
    http://www.japanesebaseball.com/services/jbw-podcasts.jsp
and the Store page is at
    http://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/japan-baseball-weekly/id443149184
Looking at the Store page, the image appears there perfectly well. On subscribing there is no image associated with the episodes because you haven't embedded an image in the files - please see this page for clarification:

  • Artwork for Video Podcasts

Is there any way to force iTunes to show embeded artwork for video podcasts in the podcast list? Right now it shows little previews of a random frame of the latest episode. Not only is that uninformative — makes it difficult to find a particular podcast, — but also bad for my OCD.
    Thanks.

Well, that's the thing: all the video podcasts in my collection have artwork assigned when I look them up in iTunes Store. For example: the official Apple Keynotes podcast, Diggnation, Tekzilla, etc. But in iTunes, they — and every other video podcast — all show a still frame instead of artwork.
All the audio podcasts in my collection display their respective artwork just fine.

  • Change bitrate for downloading podcasts

How can I change the file size or bit rate for downloaded podcasts? A 30 minute podcast takes up a third of my ipod shuffle. Since these podcasts are spoken word, I don't need a high-quality recording. Options under "podcast" don't seem to have this available.

How can I change the file size or bit rate for downloaded podcasts?
You cannot change the bitrate they are downloaded at.
Once they are downloaded, you can convert the bitrate.
iTunes prefs -> Advanced - Importing.
Set it to what you want.
Then select the file in iTunes and menu Advanced -> *Convert selection to*...

  • Changing artwork for artists

How do you change the artwork for artists in the 'Arist View'? Before the update I could do it under the 'Grid View' but it doesn't allow me to do that anymore. The ones I set as permanent are still permanent even after the update. So is there anyway to change the artwork for the artists?

    Okay....
If you want to Alphabetize them, do this:
    (1) In the library, type Command + B (this will bring up the browser),
    (2) Go to the artist that starts with "The", and make sure that all the songs listed below are the same artist, and go to Edit > Select All
    (3) Now type Command + I (this will bring up the information window with multiple items selected), if it asks to edit multiple items, click Yes.
    (4) In the artist box, just delete "The", and you are done
    (5) Click OK, and enjoy!
Do this for all the artists with "The", and FR will work right
    Hope this helps,
    Cory

  • Artwork for all podcasts

Using itunes 8.0.1 and i am asking about podcasts on the iphone 3g with 2.1 software. I have some podcasts that are not in the itunes store, therefore, these podcasts do not have artwork. I have manually added the artwork to these podcasts. The problem is, after i listen to the podcasts and download more, the artwork does not apply to the new podcasts. Does that make sense? Listen to a podcast, sync the phone with new podcasts and the artwork is not there for the new ones. How do i make the existing artwork apply to all podcasts?

Generally for the iPod/iPhone each file needs it's own artwork. If the podcast provider doesn't embed art then, provided you don't throw away played podcasts, you can select an older episode, copy the art & then paste into the recently downloaded episode.

  • Change artwork for music video

I imported a movie downloaded from a web site. The artwork was automatically generated from a frame of the movie that iTunes randomly picked. I want to add my own artwork instead, but iTunes won't let me add or delete the artwork!

That is the defult artwork. It seems to me that the only way to change the art for videos (like adding the movie poster image) is to have the video in mp4 or m4v format. You can do this by going to Advanced> Convert Selection For iPod.
Once it is in that format add the artwork to the movie by going File> Get Info> Artwork then click add (if the artwork is saved on your computer) or just click the blank area and paste the artwork in (if you are copying and pasteing). Then click OK.

  • Changing Artwork for Form

I work for a company that is closely related to its sister company (by that, I mean that I do the HR work for each company).  In that position, I am the lucky individual responsible for creating all of our forms for each company.  In the past, I have been able to create one form, then switch the artwork so that the other company also has that particular form.  I cannot find this option on the new Adobe 9 software.  I found something similar, but not equivalent by any means.  I am able to change the background by adding a new one, but it simply lays the new background on top of the old so that text, lines, images, etc. can be seen through to the top.  I have played around with the transparency, but it still doesn't work.  I'm beyond frustrated and don't have the time to make the same form twice.  In addition to that, we CONSTANTLY update these form and add new fields.  If that happens, then I am stuck making the form all over again.  Please, please, please tell me that someone has the answer, and I am just overlooking it!

Make sure you have a backup copy of your form.
Create a new or edited PDF of the form without the form fields.
You can use the 'Replace Pages' to replace the non-form field portions of the original PDF.

  • Artwork For A Podcast

I have a few questions on podcast artwork!
1.) Is it okay to use pictures from google images for artwork or do I need permission from the website it is from to use it.
2.) Is it better to have someone create your podcast artwork or just go ahead and get it from an image search engine.
    Thanks alot.

1.) Is it okay to use pictures from google images for
artwork or do I need permission from the website it
    is from to use it.
That depends on the individual image: if it is in copyright, then strictly you need permission to use it. In particular if it has come from a commercial photo library then you could lay yourself open to a demand for a large fee. If it is an old photo you would probably be safe: if it is people's private photos you should ask as a matter of courtesy. However there is a fair amount of royalty-free material floating about (mostly drawings) if you can identify them as such.
2.) Is it better to have someone create your podcast
artwork or just go ahead and get it from an image
    search engine.
Aside from any copyright implications, this is an artistic decision only you can take. Originality is always better! - try creating something in a paint or draw program and see where your talents take you.

  • Changing category for my podcast

    Hi there!
I'm the host of the podcast "RadioChili"... it all works well but my podcast is in the wrong category with a wrong language...
it should be in the category: ITALIANO/A
and the language should be: ITALIANO/A
I can't modify my rss feed...

    thanks a lot!

Here's Apple's document for Podcast specs. It covers the "categories" & "language" tags that control how iTunes displays your podcast.

  • Add artwork for podcasts using iWeb

When I try to submit a video podcast to iTunes, which I have created on iWeb '08, my album arwork is shown as a purple question mark. Any idea how to upload the artwork for a podcast?

Have you had any luck finding an answer? I've been searching and have come to no resolution.

  • Want to change artwork; How?

I have just rebranded my site and want to change the artwork for my podcast. I changed the files that iTunes references, but it looks like they have created their own. Is there a way to change the artwork?

The 'Podcast Image', which appears on the Store page, is referenced in the 'itunes:image' tag in the top section of the feed (before the first 'item' tag) and takes the form
<itunes:image href="URL OF AN IMAGE FOR THE PODCAST" />
If you are editing the feed by hand you can change this; you should give your new image a different name to the current one. Expect the Store to take several days to update it.
If you are using a program or service to create your feed you will need to amend the image by whatever method they provide for it. If you can provide an image with a different filename (rather than having to submit an image and allow them to name it) it's best to do so.
Note that we are talking about the image on the Store page here. The images seen by subscribers are a quite separate matter and are not referenced in the feed but embedded in the media files. Should you wish to pursue this point this page explains things:

  • Assigning Artwork to the Podcast itself

Hi All - I am migrating to iWeb from Podcast Maker.
I export the podcast through Garageband where I assign episode artwork.
My question is: is there a difference between episode artwork and the artwork of the podcast series generally? Can I have artwork for the podcast, showing up say on an ipod when scrolling through podcasts as well as artwork for each specific episode, when scrolling through the podcast episodes?
    Thanks

Two separate issue. The image which appears on the Store page ( the 'podcast image') is referenced in the feed. Podcast Maker will give you a place to insert an image and will upload it and reference it in the feed for you.
The images which appear when you subscribe and click on each episode (caloed 'cover art') are not referenced in the feed but are embedded in the actual media file. Podcast Maker may do this - working from memory I'm not sure - but this page shows you how to do it for yourself:
