Changing Backend Destination

Dear Friends,
This is regarding the Change of Backend System for a given Data Object / SWCV.
We have the following setup:
1. MAU SWCV pointing to Backend System - ISU1
2. Data and Development Activities are happening from Client - MI - ISU1.
We plan to point the MAU SWCV to ISU2 ( after running a doe cleanup for MI - ISU1).
Am i missing something in the above process?

Hi Suresh,
As i have understood your problem, you want to change the backend system ..right??If so then you can go to the configurations on the portal and under "backend configurations", there is a configuration named "BACKEND_DESTINATION" .
Just put the new RFC Name corresponding to system ISU2.
Also make sure that you have the bapi function modules copied from ISU1 to ISU2 with the same name.

NW7.1 - Change of Backend Destination for existing SWCV

Hi,
I have a question regarding the Backend Destination that one specifies while creating a SWCV. The scenario is as below -
1] I have created a SWCV which has my data objects & sub gens which uses Destination D1.
2] Now I want to make this SWCV connect to a different backend system. Hence I created a new RFC destination D2. Please note that the interfaces are the same - just the system is different.
3] I can switch the Backend Destination for the entire SWCV from D1 to D2 and save the change.
4] But if I see the Backend Adapters for individual data objects, I still see them pointing to D1. Also, this is non-editable.
My quesiton is - Is it possible for me to change the Backend Destination for generated data objects in an existing SWCV? Or do I need to re-import the data objects in a new SWCV for use with the new backend destination?

Hi Sandeep,
You can go to Configuration Tab in the administration console, then chose Backend Configuration-> Then select your SWCV and the data object for which you have to change the backend destination.
The only pain point here is you have to do individually for every dataobject in your SWCV.

Unable to change RFC destination in IT Performance reporting wizard

Hi Experts,
I am setting up IT Performance Reporting in my Solman EHP1 system. In the first page of the PErformance reporting wizard, it asked me for RFC destination from BI to Solman(1st field) and Solman to BI (2nd field). I initially entered an existing RFC destination that we are already using in a separate application that has a user with very-limited authorization. Now, I am trying to change the RFC destination by running the same "Configure IT Performance Reporting" wizard but both fields are already GREYED out.
I tried deleting the RFC destination previously defined in an attempt to reenable the fields but only the 2nd field was enabled. When I try to continue the setup, it results into a Shortdump because it is still looking for the initially defined RFC dest which is defined in the 1st field that cannot be edited.
SAP has not yet provided us with a solution.Your help is greatly appreciated.

You canprovide the RFC destination in DOE administration portal. Goto Configurations link and search for "BACKEND DESTINATION" parameter in "BACKEND CONFIGURATION" link. Here you can provide RFC destination at SWCV level or at Data object level.
After deleting RFC destination in SM59, it will never take you to backend system.

I'd like to change the Destination URI of item of a table region when a column X of my view is not NULL. Where should I set the new Destination URI value for the item table region for specific row? Is in the RowImpl for the view object or in the Controler of the page?

All examples that I saw till now here, suggestes to change something in the page in Controller but based on something entered in the page. In my case is IN to OUT, I will render some item table with a specific value parameter based what is in the database. Being more specific, I have a html table and one column Col1 has a value and it will have a DESTINATION URL if another column Col2 is Null. I believe I would have to check somewhere if the Col2 is null or not and change the DESTINATION URL property.

Is it possible to change the destination of "local cached data folder"

Hi,
we are using Indesign (CS5.5) in a XenDesktop Invironment. Everytime when a user logoff the history of "last open files" are lost.
I think these Data are stored in %localappdata%\Adobe\... and get lost when logoff or reboot the VM.
Is it possible to redirect or change the destination?

These MRU lists are stored in the Registry and/or the user's prefs files. Naturally, if you reboot your VMs or the user hasn't permission to store them permanently, this info will be lost. You will have to use group policies and system variables to point to other locations outside the VM. Nothing to do with Adobe at all.

BI 7.0 infospoke - how to change standard destination path on appl. server

I have the following problem:
I need to extract large amounts of data from infocubes to flatfiles. I have created an infospoke to do this. However, in this infospoke, the destination path, when I choose application server, is fixed.
In BW 3.x, there is a document "BW 3.1 Open Hub Extraction Enhancement Using Literal Filename and Path.pdf" that describes how to change the destination path for the application server.
This solution does not work for BI 7.0, I get short dumps, probably due to ABAP OO.
I need to extract the data to flat files on the application server, not on my local machine, nor into a table in SAP itself, so I need to change the destination path, because the amount of free storage is limited in the standard destination path.
Has anyone encountered this problem in BI 7.0 and solved it?

Hi Ting.
I never had a simmilar problem but, if you go to your InfoSpoke, right click --> "Change" you can see (and change... ) the following values:
Destination Type: FILE (the one you have choosen)
Application Server: Check Box (I think this is your setting)
Server name: (BW server)
Type of File Name: (Here you can choose Between "File Name" or "Logical File Name")
Appl.Server File N: "MY_FILE.CSV" (for example)
Directory: (The directory you want - take a look at the end of this post )
Separator: (The field separator)
Note : If you are working with Linux or Unix you have to look if the BW system user has the corresponding rigths to write in the FileSystem.
.          In the beginning I advice you to use something like this /usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGS<XX>/work

You might want to ask that question over in the iTunes for Windows forum. They should know if it's possible to change the location to and external drive.

I've to change the archive destination to a folder having relatively morespace .

the disk space is low on this destination folder
So I need to change the archive destination new folder /u03/arch

Installed iTunes on a 1TB drive designated H:. Bought a 3TB drive designated G:. Downloaded iTunes update. On "Run" command, it will not let me change the destination drive, so it registers an error, and will not update. Help

I went to Edit>Preferences>Advanced, G: is showing as the destination drive.

Changing Default Destination?

I can't find the answer on this one... How do I create a new default destination?
I want to assign one of my extra drives in my G4. I can change the destinations individually; but it'd be nice to have it default where I want them.

Of course you can!
1. Make a Custom Destination in the Presets Window
2. Select the Compressor menu -> Preferences
3. Change the Default Destination to your newly created custom destination

Change of Destination Type in PO Receipt

Hi All
Can we change the Destination Type at the time of PO Receipt for multiple lines? Users would not like to change the Destination Type one by one for every line which is present on the Purchase Order. Can we change the Receipt Routing on the approved PO before PO Receipt so that we can have all the lines of PO as same Destination Type in PO Receipt.
We are on 11.5.10.2.

You can override the Receiving Routing on the Receipts screen only if the Profile RCV: Allow Routing Override is set to 'Yes'.
The Receiving Routing on the receipts screen is defaulted as follows:
1. Purchase Order shipment
2. if 1 is null, then Item Attribute
3. if 2 is null, then Vendor Attribute
4. if 3 is null, then Receiving Option

The backend destination TRUSTING@CRA is correct and the RFC destination works.
How to resolve this error and where to look for the logs.

When I run the transaction SDOE_LOAD for S/w component = MAS_SMARTPHONE , 1.4 of SAP
then select Initial download,
I get the following error :-
"Initial/Delta download was not triggered for a few Data Objects. Check monitoring logs."
There is no information on where to look for the errors/logs on the screen - please advice.
All gerenrations for CRM data object such as (Activity/, lead, opportunity etc...) were green as per the the guide.
Also, I am not getting/seeing the Data Objects 'MAS_CUSTOMIZATION' and 'MAS_AUTH_CUST' in sdoe_session_monitor.
Also,
There is a discrepency in the documentation.
Although they say that the RFC has to be a Trusted one, here is an instance of why is shouldnt be.
in SAP transaction SDOE_WB for SWCV 'MAS_SMARTPHONE , 1.4 of SAP' if the RFC destination is trusted then it results in the following error.
For standard object 'MAS_LEAD' in the hierarchy.
Please advice.
