Changing background colour of pdf to white to save ink when printing

I am a Uni student and study from home. I have to print my lecture notes (always in PDF) so i can follow with the lecture online. But the tutor always uses a bright colourful background which looks great but sucks the ink out of my printer. How do i change the background colour of the pdf's she makes us print off to white to save on ink?

If the background color is a layer, try the following
click View | Show/Hide | Navigation Pane | Layers
use the Layers pane to hide the background color

  • How to Change Background Colour in Q10?

Is there a way to change background colours for Contacts and Calendar from dark to white in Q10?  Thanks.

    Good day
    Welcome to BB forums
I don't know what you mean for contact color but here is the info for Calendar info you asked for!
Change the color for a calendar
Each calendar that you add to your device is assigned a color to help you differentiate between events. You can customize the colors of your calendars to suit your taste.
In the Calendar app, swipe down from the top of the screen.
    Tap  Settings > Calendar Colors.
    Tap a calendar.
    Tap a color.

  • PSE9, how to change background colour?

    Hi
I was shown how to change the background colour using....and this is where it all goes wrong!!
I have taken a photo on a hi key background but there are slight colour variations due to shadow. I was shown how you can change the background colour to a consistent white using tool that allowed you to choose black, grey and white point but at this moment in time maybe a bit of bbq alcohol and age are preventing me from remembering how to do this....any ideas, please?
    Cheers

    Enhance<Adjust Color<Remove Color Cast
Look at image and try to figure out what should be white, gray,or black. Click that area with the color cast dropper. Below is a video showing how to use the color cast tool.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Roinm3J3GjI&feature=player_embedded
I think from your post that it is safe to assume that you used levels. Basically, you first click on something you know is white with the white dropper; then click on something you know is black with the black dropper; finally find something that is gray and click on it with the gray dropper. Note: You may want to go through and set target colors for the levels droppers to customize how they react. See the written tutorial links at the end of this post.
Levels is covered at about 5:15 of video in video linked below. Note: It's a Photoshop video. It works the same way in Elements.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LLKc61tM5b4
The above video gives several methods. It is a Photoshop video but several of these methods can be used in Elements. Elements has a color cast tool that is not included in Photoshop so isn't covered in this. Disregard Match Color method and Curves method as Elements does not include  these commands. (This tutorial also mentions using the fade command. Elements does not include this command. You can reduce the opacity of a duplicate layer on which you apply the variations command and use the layer's opacity to "fade" the result. If you go that route.)
Several Photoshop Elements videos on the subject are here:

  • Change background colour IOS 7 messenger

Is there a way to change background colour in messenger to a less glaring white?

You're welcome. Wish I had better news. You can adjust some of the contrast, text size, and bold text under settings general, accessibility. But that wouldn't address the background color itself.

  • Why can't i change background colour and choose different themes in iphoto 9.4.3?

I am trying to create an iphoto book as I have done in the past. I am now using iphot 11  9.4.3 and it doesn't give me different themes and I can't change background colours in the book like I can with 9.4.2

It looks like you'll have to reinstall iPhoto go get the themes back.  To reinstall iPhoto:
On all Macs running Snow Leopard or Earlier
1 - delete the current application and, , all files with "iPhoto" in the file name with either a .PKG or .BOM extension that reside in the:
    (10.5 and earlier) - HD/Library/Receipts folder
    or from the
    (10.6) - /var/db/receipts/  folder
On all Macs with Lion or Later Pre-installed
Deleting receipts is not necessary if your Mac came with Lion or later preinstalled.
Finally re-install iPhoto from the source it came from originally:
1 - (10.6 or earlier) from the disks that came with the Mac  or an iLife disk.
2 - (10.7 or later) from the App Store .

  • Changing background colour with hex code?

Hi, i want to change the background colour of my documents. So far i can only find 1 way of doing it by going file > document setup then chaning the colour under transparency. I have two problems with this though. First, it seems to only change the colour in illustrator and not the actual image when saved/printed etc. And secondly i need to change the colour to a specific hex colour and i'm at a loss of how to do this.
I have done a little searching on this but so far i seem to be failing at finding the answer. Anyone help?

    E'ss,
First, it seems to only change the colour in illustrator and not the actual image when saved/printed etc.
That is because it is only something like a simulation of coloured paper, so you can see what it looks like when printed on such paper. In other words, it is not part of the artwork and therefore not transferred.
And secondly i need to change the colour to a specific hex colour and i'm at a loss of how to do this.
When you set the colour, one option is RGB which is an equivalent to the hex colour. To find the right RGB combination without having to remember/calculate it, you may do as follows:
    1) Create a rectangle (or whatever);
    2) In the Color palette/panel flyout choose Web Safe RGB and insert the desired hex colour (the first two characters as R, the next two as G, and the last two as B);
    3) Switch to (normal) RGB and read the values to use.

  • Why does the K5400 use up colour ink when printing greyscale?

Please let me know why all K5400 printers use up the coloured inks when printing only grey scale, is there a way of stopping this waste of inks.?

    There are a few possibilities:
The color drops are typically much smaller than the black drops so color is used for grayscale graphics unless "use black only" is checked in the driver.  Depending on your operating system and driver this may be an option.
Black ink is generally not compatible with photo paper.  If you are using photo paper only color ink will be used.
Color ink is used for servicing to keep the nozzles clear.  See here for information on how ink is used.

  • Change Background Colour from White to Cream

    Hello,
I have shot a large number of tutorial videos. These videos have a pure white background behind the talent. However, I would like to change the background colour to a less harsh cream/very light grey colour. I have attached the image of the talent in front of the white background.
I have tried using the colour key effect in the Premier Pro CS6 program. I selected the white background to key it out. And then placed a .psd file of the cream/light grey colour behind the video to show through. However, the talent has white areas in her dress, and white areas in between strands of her hair are not keying out. This alongside movement of her hands creates a brief white trail after them, making the whole effect look somewhat unprofessional.
Is there a way to achieve this effect to change the white background whilst still maintaining the 'professional' integrity of the video? Would a filter effect of a slight grey shade be possible? Or are there less invasive ways to achieve this effect for just the background? Your help will be very much appreciated!
    Kind regards,
    Rajen

Magic Bullet wont do this task.  It has no secondaries or keying / masking capability.
On the other hand - Da Vinci Resolve definitely has all the tools to do it.
Possibly Speedgrade does as well.  ( Dont know because I gave upon it!)
Worth looking at in PPRO would be a duplicate video layer with a grade and then a blend effect  (probably screen with opacity)
It would be some trial and error. It always is with composite and fx..

    Eddy,
This forum is for workspace manager - a database product that has no UI itself. I'm not sure what product you are using, but it's not WM.
