Changing BIOS Logo

Could there be a more cumbersome process to get a new logo in there?
1) They don't have the size requirements in the readme...  just that when I run it, it'll tell me if it's too big or not.
2) When you do run the tool, it tells you that the compressed size limit is 8192 bytes and does some unknown compression to get it there. It does say what the compressed size of the file you submitted is, though, so you're not completely clueless.
3) I have to resize a black and white logo down to ~150x150 to get it to fit inside the 8 KB. When displayed on the screen, that puts it about the size of a business card. How can anyone see that?
Any tips out there for making this work a bit more as expected?

Hi GameX,
the only difference that I can see immediately is something which caused me problems with a particular web publishing software once, took me ages to find the bug.  Your second picture has JPG as the ending, the first jpg - maybe the utility is case sensitive on file endings??

  • Changing BIOS image

I have an HP Pavilion dv6 2020ev laptop running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. Is there any way to change the image BIOS displays when booting up (before Windows boot-up)?

    Replacing your BIOS logo
Flashing the BIOS on your computer is risky even if you don't modify it - flashing the BIOS with a modified BIOS image is very dangerous and may well result in a non-working motherboard that is very difficult, or even impossible to repair. Follow these instructions
    entirely at your own risk.
If your BIOS currently doesn't display any logo, and doesn't have any setting in the Setup, it is possible that it can't display the logo. In this case, you may check your motherboard manufacturer's website, to see if a BIOS update which can display the boot-up
    logo is available.
This guide assumes that your BIOS file is called BIOS.BIN.
These instructions were tested on GigaByte 7VAXP and VIA Epia Eden 5000 motherboards. They should work with most motherboards which use Award BIOS though. (If you don't know if you have Award BIOS, here's a screenshot of mine.)
    1. Requirements:
 CBROM.EXE - tool for editing the BIOS files; you can find it with Google.
     BIOS for your motherboard
 AWBMTools - programs for converting TIFF files to Award Logo format and vice-versa
    2. Ensure that you have CBROM.EXE and TIFF2AWBM.EXE (from AWBMTools) somewhere in your PATH (if you don't know what this means, it's best that you don't play with your BIOS).The easiest way of ensuring this is to put all
the EXEs in the same folder as your BIOS file
    3. Open a command console (MS-DOS box) and change to the folder where you have your BIOS. First check that your CBROM is compatible with your BIOS file. Type CBROM BIOS.BIN /D. You should get something similar to this:
    4. E:\BIOS\GigaByte>CBROM BIOS.BIN /D
    5. CBROM V2.01A (C)Award Software 1999 All Rights Reserved.

CBROM lists the files in your BIOS and gives some other information. Most important line is Remain compress code space = 046FDh(17.75K), which tells you that there's about 17 kB free space in your BIOS, space that can be used by the logo.
Other interesting items are EPA pattern, which is the Energy Star logo displayed during boot-up and LOGO1 ROM, which is another image displayed during boot-up (in this case it's GigaByte's DoubleBIOS logo). EPA pattern and the logo can be safely removed from
the BIOS to make more space for the full-screen logo.
If your BIOS already contains a logo, a line similar to thisone will appear somewhere:
      9. LOGO BitMap       4B30Ch(300.76K) 02ECBh(11.70K)  VPSD.BMP
Note the uncompressed size, 300.76kB, this tells you that it's a full-screen logo. You will want to remove this.
On the other hand, if your output looks similar to this, the CBROM version is not compatible with your BIOS:
    E:\BIOS\GigaByte>CBROM.EXE BIOS.BIN /D
CBROM V1.30 (C)Award Software 1999 All Rights Reserved.
                  ********     BIOS.BIN BIOS component ********
     No. Item-Name         Original-Size   Compressed-Size Original-File-Name

Total compressed code size = 7D90F9h(8036.24K)
Remain compress code space = FF866F07h(-7780.24K)
    E:\BIOS\GigaByte>
    30. If you wish to remove the existing full-screen logo from your BIOS, use the following command: CBROM BIOS.BIN /LOGO Release. To remove the EPA logo, use CBROM BIOS.BIN /EPA Release. For any other logos that may be in
your BIOS, use CBROM BIOS.BIN /LOGOx Release. Replace x with the number that appears in the listing.
You can also remove other parts of BIOS this way, however you will disable those hardware components by doing it. Eg. I removed RAID133.ROM from my BIOS, because I don't use the Promise controller as RAID. (There is still ATA133.ROM in there, which allows me
to use it as normal IDE controller). If you have an on-board network card, there's a chance that boot ROM is included in your BIOS. If you don't boot off network, you can remove that ROM (it is only needed for booting, the network card will work fine without
it). Remember though, that any of these actions can corrupt the BIOS and later render the system unbootable. If you wish to remove other parts of BIOS, run CBROM without any parameters, it will tell you which switches you can use.
    31. If your logo is already in AWBMP format, you can skip to step 6. Otherwise, here are instructions on how to prepare the logo:
    1. The logo dimensions must be 640x480 pixels with 256 colors. However, you should avoid using too many colors at once, and the image shouldn't be dithered to improve compression. You might find it necessary to reduce the
number of colors to be able to squeeze the image into your BIOS.
    2. Save your image as a TIFF (Tagged Image File Format) file.
    3. Use TIFF2AWBM.EXE to convert the image to Award Bitmap format: TIFF2AWBM myimage.tif myimage.bmp. Note that output file name must not be longer than 8.3 characters. Also, Award BMP format is not compatible with Windows
BMP format, even though they use the same extension.
    32. To insert your logo to the BIOS, run CBROM BIOS.BIN /LOGO myimage.bmp. If it succeeds, you'll see something like this:
    33. E:\BIOS\GigaByte>CBROM.EXE BIOS.BIN /logo new.bmp
    34. CBROM V2.01A (C)Award Software 1999 All Rights Reserved.
    35. Adding new.bmp ..................................... 19.4%
    36.
    E:\BIOS\GigaByte>
In this case, you can flash your BIOS with the newly prepared file. Remember that you do it at your own risk, so don't blame me if the system doesn't boot after flashing.
Follow the instructions of your motherboard's manufacturer on how to flash the BIOS.
If however, the image is too big to fit in the BIOS, you will get this message.
    E:\BIOS\GigaByte>CBROM.EXE BIOS.BIN /logo new.bmp
CBROM V2.01A (C)Award Software 1999 All Rights Reserved.
    Adding new.bmp ..................................... 19.6%
BIOS.BIN have not enough space for adding ROM. (Over A545h bytes)
    E:\BIOS\GigaByte>
The message also tells you how much more space is needed to store the image, however it's in hex. Use your fauvorite calculator to convert it to decimal (in the example, the compressed image is 42309 bytes too large).
You can either try to reduce image complexity, or if you're more adventurous, you can try removing some of the ROMs in B

  • Issue changing the Logo on web UI

    Hello all,
I have an issue where I can't get a new logo to show on our WEB UI skin.
    What i've done so far..
    1, I've created a BSP in se80,
2, spro > sap ref IMG > CRM > UI framework > UI framework definition > skins > Access Skin Workbench
Select Nova and copied the Skin to a new Skin with the BSP I created in se80.
    3. On my new Skin - changed the logo.png and logo.gif in all locations, ( I believe the main one is in  'styling/Lshape/Logo.png' )
The one one that looks like the image I wanted to change was in /_images/logo.gif.
    4. Assigned this Skin to my technical Profile
spro > sap ref IMG > CRM > UI framework > define Techical Profile > <myprofile>
    5. Ensured my technical profile is specified against my busines Role.
Saved my work, loaded up the web UI, hit my business Role,
    6. Clicked preferences and checked my Skin was already selected, it was...
But the image that I replaced is still the original??
I've been through all the images on my new skin to see if there are any others that are the same as the main SAP logo, which there isn't - I can't understand where its getting it from, (other then the predefined skins)
Any help or advice on this would be much appreciated!

in spro > sap ref IMG > CRM > UI framework > UI framework definition > skins > Define Skins.
I had created my reference to point to the NOVA files? so even thou I was editing my skin, it was only ever showing the NOVA files. - I just created a new entry pointing to my Skin and it now works..

@  Anurag_N: This is not ALV, but SAP SCRIPT report.
    Hello,
This standard report is using form F130_CONFIRM_01 for the printing purpose.
Please check in this form, how you can handle ur logo.
R u doing any config for printing this report for the form etc?
This text is coming from the window ADDRESS and the below inlude:
INCLUDE &T001G-TXTAB& OBJECT TEXT ID ADRS LANGUAGE &T001-SPRAS&, where &T001G-TXTAB& for me is coming as
    ADRS_SENDER.
So, just add ur logo in the standard text ADRS_SENDER in SO10, you will c it in the sap script layout.
But, i am not sure how this variable &T001G-TXTAB&  gets populated and if it will get changed for soem other value.

  • How to change the logo size on all the pages?

I have some 125 pages and i need to change the logo size of every page .Is there any method to change with one click that reflects on all the other pages ? Rather than i do it manually open every page and change the logo size? The logo is in the div. I want to use it as html rather than using as css div background image. Any help will be highly appreciated am using DWCS6 on win xp pro.

If the code is the same on every page, you could use the Find & Replace function within DW...
    1. Make a backup of your site files, just in case
    2. Make the necessary changes to one page to get what you want (make sure you know what the original code for it was/is)
    3. Hit Ctrl + F to open the Find/Replace Dialogue
    4. For "Find In" choose Entire Current Local Site
    5. In "Search" choose Source Code
    6. For "Find" put the line(s) of code that contain your background image on all pages (the original code mentioned in #2 above)
    7. For "Replace" put in the newly changed line(s) of code from step 2.
    8. Hit Replace All
DW will go through all of the pages, replacing whatever code you put in Find with whatever code you put in Replace.

  • Version 9 - Changing out logos in Batch

I have a logo in the footer on almost every page of a pdf.
Can Version 9 do a batch to cut the old logo and paste the new one in for all the pdfs in a folder. (The pdf docs have different pagination= there is not a logo on the same page in every pdf doc.)
Is it smart enough. I don't want javascript.
    Thanks,
Would you need verison 9 pro or 9 Pro extended? or Version 9 standard?

I don't think you can change the logo by a batch sequence.
Pitstop might be able to do what you want. Either someone who uses the
product can let you know for sure or you can download a trial from the
    enfocus website.

  • Change of Logo in SAP Easy Access

    Hello All

This is the sap recommended procedure:
Change the logo in the right-hand side of the initial screen
    -   To put your company logo in the right-hand side of the initial
        screen:
Put your picture in the database with the transaction SMW0
"Binary data" options, e.g. in ".GIF" format.
Put a record with the picture name in the key "START_IMAGE" of
the table SSM_CUST in the View maintenance transaction SM30.
    -   You can adjust the picture to the window size automatically or
center it in the right-hand side of the initial screen
("RESIZE_IMAGE" "YES" or "NO" in the table SSM_CUST).
    -   You can deactivate the picture globally so that noone sees it
with "HIDE_START_IMAGE" "YES" in the table SSM_CUST.
User-specific picture display settings are then ignored.

  • SAP Cloud For Customer : How to change the Logo or Image into the Standard Form Template

    Hi Experts,
I have requirement to change the standard template format.
I have copy standard template and edit using Adobe Life Cycle Designer to change the logo / image.
After changed and upload modified template and change the output setting for print i can able to see the changes but logo / image can not display.
Can anyone have idea how to solve this issue ?
Can we change the template within cloud system?
    If Yes than How ?
    Regards,
    Mithun

The following are the instructions (November 2014 version of SAP Cloud for Customer)
    Edit a Form Master Template
    Overview
As an administrator, you can edit existing form master templates. These are used to define the header, footer, and logos used in form templates. Form master templates also contain an e-mail disclaimer that is appended to automatically generated e-mails sent to business partners when a document is output from the system.
    Procedure
    1. Go to Application and User Management or Administrator Business Flexibility Master Template Maintenance .
    2. In the Master Template Maintenance view, select Form Master Templates from the Show menu.
    3. Select the master template you want to edit and click Edit.
    4. On the Form Master Template tab, do the following:
Under Header, click Upload and browse to find the file you want as logo. Adjust the size and alignment of the logo, as required. The file formats .gif, .bmp, .jpg, .png, and .tif are supported. The logo should not be larger than 40 mm width x 20 mm height. If you upload a graphic that is larger than 40 mm x 20 mm, it is resized automatically.Select the Header Divider checkbox if you want a graphical divider to appear on your form.Under Sender Address, enter your company’s address. The sender address is shown above the recipient's address in a letter.Under Footer, choose the number of footer columns you want to display. Enter the footer text exactly as you would like it to appear on the form. You can maintain up to 4 footer blocks with a maximum of 10 lines per footer.Note that the width of each footer block is equally divided over the available space. If a line of text in the footer is too long for the current font size, the system will automatically enter a line break. If this automatic line break does not meet your needs, you may need to enter the text after the line break as a separate line.To maintain multiple languages, you must first add the language from the Add menu and then maintain the texts in that language by selecting the language from the dropdown list.
    5. Click the refresh button to preview your changes. From the dropdown list under Preview, you can select a country. The preview is then displayed using the country-specific template, for example, some countries do not use sender addresses or have different paper sizes.
    6. On the E-Mail Disclaimer tab, you can enter a disclaimer or other company-specific legal information.
This text is appended to the main text body of e-mails that are created when a document is output by the system. It is not possible to create separate language versions of this text; therefore if your company uses multiple communication languages, you should enter all language versions of the disclaimer here.
    7. Click Save and Close.
    Result
If required, you can now assign the form master template to a company/org unit and/or output channel. For more information, see the Master Template Maintenance Quick Guide.
Note that master templates can be activated and deactivated for each form template in the Form Template Maintenance view. For more information, see the Form Template Maintenance Quick Guide.

  • Change the logo position

I have copied the script  QM_INSP_RESULT into ZSCRIPT in this Zscript
I Want to change the logo position in the main window..
Please help me on this how to change the position of the logo...
    Thanks in advance...
    Dasaradh

    Hi,
you can position image using program RSTXLDMC,
instead of going for se78 ,where you don't have facility
    for postioning your image
These are the steps to be followed for uploading graphics in R/3 system
    1. First save the file as BMP
    2. Open the BMP file in IMaging (Goto -> Programs -> Accessories -> Imaging) and
make it Zoom as 100% and save as *.TIFF
    3. Open SE38 and execute program RSTXLDMC
    4. Give your TIFF file path name
    5. Select Bcol (for Color)
    6. TEXT ID will be ZHEX-MACRO-*.
    7. Inplace of * write your own logo name (ZCOMPANYLOGO)
    8. Execute the program
