Changing birth date on child Apple ID

I need to know if there is any way to change a date of birth on an apple ID when it says "cannot be changed at this time". The reason being is because I (many of us I'm sure) set up apple IDs for my three children but had to use my own DOB due to their age. Therefore, all of their contacts/settings/etc would move with them as they got older and maintained their iDevice. All purchases were still linked to my apple ID, but they had their own iCloud accounts. This is how it should have been from the beginning and it worked fine until family sharing came out. The thinking behind family sharing was great, but it leaves all of us that already had iCloud accounts for kids already out to dry. I added all of my kids to family sharing but it is allowing them to make purchases because it shows they are my age. When I attempt to fix them, that is when the unable to change error comes up. The solution is to create an entirely new account, but that shouldn't be necessary. I refuse to lose their full name in iCloud just because of something that could so easily be remedied. The new software changes are great, but only if they work.

I know its not a good idea to lie about children ages, but KIDS love iDevices, and as they are the Future how can we refuse them. Plus a lot of parents let they're KIDS use the Adults Apple ID. I have 2 daughters, and using Family sharing I can choose to accept or refuse Apps they try to download. I also lock down they're iDevices so they are not subjected to unsightly material.
We are all in the incubation stage of the development of the handheld Devices, so some times you have to find a work around solution which works best for you. I am sure in the Future these small problems will have a solution. Plus my girls are teaching me more and more about the potential use of iDevices.
After all, its all about Parents parenting they're KIDS. You teach them the "Green cross code' (how to cross a road safely), so it should be so that you Educate them to not to talk to strangers on the streets, or in the Virtual world. Teach them well and they will Learn.

Cannot set child's birth date while creating Apple ID for iOS 8 family sharing

Just upgraded my iPhone 4S to iOS 8 and am in the process of setting up Family Sharing. I want to create an Apple ID for my 13-year old. For some reason iOS doesn't let me enter the birthday properly. It keeps rolling back to 18 September 2001 (exactly 13 years ago today). My kid's birthday is several months earlier.
iOS does let me choose any later date, e.g. in November 2001 or 2011. But as soon as I choose a date earlier than 18 September 2001, iOS rolls back to 18 Sep 2001.
Since children under 13 are not eligible, it seems that only children that are EXACTLY 13 years old today (happy birthday!) can get an Apple ID.
Must be a bug, right?

Your wife should set up her own Apple ID. In order to do this, on her phone, go to Settings > iTunes & App Store to sign out of your Apple ID and sign in with your wife's new Apple ID. You shouldn't get her texts on your phone after setting up the new ID. This is the best and easiest way to solve the issue.

My son's school have started an initiative where they use iPads as part of their lessons, and subsequently my son has a brand new iPad through the scheme.
The setup guide that the school supplied directed us to enter the parent's date of birth and the student's name to set up an Apple ID. However, since setting his iPad up we have become aware of Family Sharing when we setup our old iPad for his younger brother, and the ability to create an Apple ID for a child. We would obviously like the same level of protection and security for both children, not to mention restricting any accidental purchases!
Is there any way to change his date of birth from mine to his? I have read other similar posts with the best solutions apparently to fudge the date of birth so that the child is older than 13 years old. I would like to do this properly rather than lie about his age...

You can not change the date of birth on the account. You are explicitly told this when the account is created.
The ID you created is yours, not your son's. If your son is under 13, then to claim it is your son's ID is to say that you committed a crime when you created it. Create a new account for your son.
Inform the school that if they are instructing parents to do this because the children are under 13, they are potentially criminally liable. They should know better.

I was finally able to get the installer build to work, even though it takes about ten minutes!! The network and CPU activity is minimal, so I don't know what LV is waiting on during all this time?
For this installation it appears to be related to the directory structure created by the Volume License Manager 2.1 software. There are two sets of users at my company, LabVIEW Professional and Developer Suite, which have different license numbers and installers. The errors were related to source files located in the Products folder of the network distribution. My installation expected the Products folder to be in a different location that it was actually placed by the VLM software. I copied the entire Products folder from _SourceFiles up to the LabVIEW 8.5.1 folder and now it works, although very slowly.

Why can't I change my date of birth on my apple ID?

My brother and I used to share apple ID, and it was registered on him, now when he doesn't use apple products anymore (long story) he gave it to me to use for myself. Problem is though, I can't update my date of birth. I can change everything but that. Everytime I try to update it a window puts up asking if I want to save the changes, I click 'yes' but still nothing happens. what is the problem?

I would suggest to login on this page : https://appleid.apple.com (choose Manage your account)
Choose Password and Security (at the left of the page)
Change your birthdate and click on the blue button Save

Go here. Then Manage Your Apple ID > sign in with her Apple ID > select Name, ID and Email Addresses
Scroll to the bottom of the page and you will see the Select your birth date on the right. Edit it then Save.

I suppose there are going to be thousands of us with the same question and obviously Apple didn't address it anywhere that I have seen. So I got no solution, but what I would try is to go to apple id site and see if you can change age in "password and security" tab. I do not think to be honest it is going to work, cause Apple seems to only have come to create apple id for a minor under 13 from "family sharing setup" but that is the only way that I know to change age on existing id. If that does not work try to change it to over 13. Then you should be able to use existing, but will be able to place same restrictions with "ask to buy" feature.

If the problem persists, you'll probably have to make another apple id, it wont take off any games or music or apps or anything you've bought it will all stay there, i have two apple id's and i don't have a problem with anything.
