Changing calendar colors

A client of mine uses a specific color code for his ical on his computer, but on his iphone, the colors are different. I see no way to change the colors on the iphone. How do I do this?
Thanks,

Cashman, this is actually possible. I just did it after searching for an answer.
how i did it:
go to iphone "Settings"
Mail contacts calendars
The exchange account he wants to change the color of.
Switch calendars to off wait till it says off then switch back on.
go and check if one of his calendars colors have changed to the color he likes.
I had to do it up to 4x on a couple just to get it to the right color, i have 4 accounts to keep track of so colors are important to me, It wont have to be changed again. Ahh.....relief!

  • Change Calendar Color?

Recently, the "dot" by my "work calendar" on my iphone 3G changed colors. It now has the same color as one of the calendars I sync with MobileMe. The Work calendar is synced with Outlook 2010.
Is it possible to change the color of the dot by my work calendar on my iphone? if so, how? (i know how to change colors for the MobileMe dots...must be done at MobileMe).
    thanks!

  • Changing calendar color in Enterprise

My iPhone calendar colors are difficult to read. iTunes tells me the calendar options must be changed on the device because I'm syncing via Enterprise. How can I change these colors?

Found a solution to my own question that has worked...for now.
    Solution:
    1) Disconnect your iPhone from your computer.
2)On phone go to Settilngs> mail contacts calendars> click on the account you are having problems with.
    3) Turn Calendar sync to OFF and wait about 30 seconds
    4) Turn Calendar sync to ON
As calendar items push to the iPhone, you’ll see these items being restored and unique calendars assigned. This can take about ~30+ minutes or so. Also, it takes awhile to push, you may have to wait 15 minutes for push to initiate, depending on phone settings and time since last push. But… this fixes the problem.

  • Can't find info button to change calendar color

Am now using Leopard with iCal and want to change the color of a calendar. There is no info button on the lower right-hand corner. Where is it now?

I don't have a drop-down menu in the upper right hand corner. In the Get Info window, I must click the 'Edit' button to access the colour option.
Two other methods to do access this is double clicking on the event which will bring up the Info window (and where you then choose 'Edit') or click on the event (once) and use the Command-E keystroke combination which will bring up the event window immediately in edit mode (the keyboard command for 'Edit Event...' under the 'Edit' menu)

  • TS3999 ios7 iCloud Calendar changed calendar color and won't let me select a different color.

I updated my iphone 4s to ios7 without issue, then I got my iphone 5s and restored from my 4s' backup. Everything worked smoothly and great, except that one of my calendars had their color changed (from orange to purple).  Now I already have a purple calendar, which is why this is problem.  I have attempted to change my calendar color several time, and I get no error and it look like it works great but a few seconds later it changes itself back to purple.  Not the most critical bug, but very annoying.  I have attempted to change the color both on my phone and on icould.com, but neither work.

    Quit iCal.
Drag the folder ~/Library/Application Support/iCal to the desktop.
Delete the iCal preference files (again).
    Delete folder ~/Library/Application Support/SyncServices.
    Restart iCal.
Verify that you can add and modify calendars.
If you can, open the Sources folder in iCal folder that you put on the desktop. There will be one folder in it for each of your former calendars. Open each in turn and drop the corestorage.ics file onto the iCal icon. This should import your former calendars.

  • Can't change calendar color for Exchange accounts

I have a number of "sub-calendars" that I've created over time associated with Exchange accounts.  Pre-Lion, I was able to change the color of calendar by choosing "Get Info".  WIth Lion, I am able to change the colors of non-Exchange accounts only.  Any workarounds or is this just a bug?

  • IPhone 3G - Can I change calendar color?

I have two calendars sync'd to my iPhone throught exchange. I want to know if anyone knows a way to change the colors associated with each calendar?

If you use mobileMe and os x it will sync the colors too. If you don't, the only way to affect the colors is to sync one calendar at a time. They will be created in the color order red, orange, blue, green and purple. If you want your calendars to be red and blue, create a temporary calendar and sync as number 2. Sync number 3 (which will be blue) and remove the temp cal.

  • Change calendar color-- missing popup

I have followed the directions for changing the Calendar in Help.  My problem is that most of the time I don't get the color popup menu in the Get Info dialog box.  I do get it occasionally, but I can't seem to isolate what I do that makes the popup appear.
    Any suggenstions?

    Greetings,
    Hm.  Thats odd.
The color picker in the info window should appear for all calendars, even ones you don't have read access to.
If you can reproduce this behavior please take a screen shot of it and post the picture here using the camera button at the top of the reply window.
    Try:
    1. First make an iCal backup:  Click on each calendar on the left hand side of iCal one at a time highlighting it's name and then going to File Export > Export and saving the resulting calendar file to a logical location for safekeeping.
    2. Go to iCal > Quit iCal
    3. Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:
    Home > Library > Caches > com.apple.ical
Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache if present)
--- NOTE: To get to "Home > Library" in Lion: Click anywhere on the desktop and then click on the "Go" menu at the top of the computer screen while holding down the "option" key on the keyboard.  You will see "Library" in the menu.
    4. Launch iCal and test.
    If the issue persists:
    1. Go to iCal > Quit iCal
    2. Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:
    Home > Library > Caches > com.apple.ical
Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache if present)
Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.ical (There may be more than one of these. Remove them all.)
--- NOTE: Removing these files may remove any shared (CalDAV) calendars you may have access to. You will have to re-add those calendars to iCal > Preferences > Accounts.
    3. Launch iCal and test.
    Hope that helps.

  • Can't change calendar colors!?

Exchange just auto-picked my work calendar to be the same as my home calendar. How do I change it?
All the eye candy in the world and the app can't visually separate distinct calendars?

Hey, I would recommend using google calendar. It has different colors plus you can use google sync to sync it straight to you apple ipad. Its easy and fast. You can just open you browser make the necessary changes and it'll update it on your ipad. It retains the same colors as the colors you choose on google.

  • How to change the color of a calendar entry

How do you change the color of a calendar entry?

    Hi Skaytn,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
Are you referring to the Calendar app on your computer, or do you have an iCloud account?  The articles below will explain how to change calendar names and colors.  Whatever calendar you place an entry in will determine what it's color will be.
Mac Basics: Calendar keeps your appointments
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5978
    Create new calendars
By default, OS X includes two calendars in the Calendar app – Work and Home. If  you want to create a new calendar, choose New Calendar from the File menu. Type a name for your calendar in the text field. For example, if you have kids, you might want to create a separate calendar for each one to track their schedules. You can see and control how your calendars appear by clicking the Calendars button.
To change the color or name of a calendar, select it from the calendars list, then choose Edit > Get Info. To remove a calendar and all of its events, right-click or Control-click the calendar's name,  then select Delete from the shortcut menu that appears.

  • Calendar Colors Gmail

I currently have my calendars synced with google sync. It is an exchange account. I use caldav to sync my calendars with iCal on my computer. I have multiple calendars in gmail so I use delegation for the rest of my calendars. In iCal, I have set up my calendars to the colors that I want. If I log onto gmail.com, my calendars are set up to the same colors on iCal. On my iPhone, when I sync my calendars with exchange the colors are different. Anyone know how to change calendar colors on the iPhone OS 3.0.1? Also does anyone know how to change colors on exchang?. Meaning on my computer can I go to some site to set colors for exchange?

Following up on this since I came across it looking for an answer myself.
If you set your desired color(s) via Google (log in to Google Calendar via your web browser),
FIRST, and here I mean before adding the calendar to your iPhone/iPod touch,
and then add the calendar on your iPhode/iPod, it takes the correct color.
However if you add the calendar and then edit its color, this does not appear to sync back to the iPhone/iPod, so set your color before adding the calendar to your mobile device.

  • ICal Calendar Colors Changing On Their Own; iCloud Connection

    AGGRAVATING PROBLEM:
Many in this forum have written recently about a problem ongoing for people with multiple iCal calendars where iCal calendar colors change "automatically" when you haven't selected those colors, or even "change back" before your eyes to some color your DIDN'T select after you select a new one.  If you log into iCloud on the Web and try to change the color of certain calendars, they refuse to change.  Try as you might, the color you want for your calendar won't "stick" and it is forced to be the wrong color on all your devices.  In some cases, even the names of some of the calendars cannot be changed.  On other calendars in your list, the colors and names will change fine.
Related symptoms:  Calendars you have deleted "come back."   Or, calendars you did not create yourself show up in your calendars list, such as "Calendar" or "Home" or even "Untitled."  Note that the problem seems to be most prevalent with calendars with names "Home," "Work," OR either of these words in the NAME of the calendar.  For instance, "Bob's Work" might get snagged (it can't be deleted without coming back or its color is stuck and "comes back").
I spent a long time on the phone with a helpful Apple senior advanced specialist on this problem today.  We conducted a very large number of "experiments". Our family has two iPads, 2 iPhones, and 2 iMacs, so it was easy to rule things in or out.  I will present some information that may help.
SOME OF WHAT APPEARS TO BE GOING ON:
First, Apple has not resolved this.  But the problem appears to be related to iCloud, and NOT to individual devices.  After de-linking all of my individual devices from iCloud, I could change any of the colors or names at will on any given device, create new calendars and then change their colors to whatever I wish, delete calendars, change names...no problem.  However, after re-linking calendars to iCloud, all the problems mentioned above returned.  The chances that my iMacs, iPhones, and iPads are all causing the problem independently is very low. They also have slightly different OS versions on them, so it is not likely an a particular device OS, though that could be indirectly related.  Also, the colors "change back" within about the same time (usually a few seconds to up to 30 seconds) that it takes to do a "refresh" (i.e. an update) to the iCloud servers.  This when iCloud is turned on, and the absence of it when iCloud is turned off (for calendars), strongly suggests that it is the iCloud server and its interaction with your devices that the fundamental cause of the problem.
Apple has said that they are aware of this problem and their engineers are working on a fix.  Historically, this can mean just a few days, or it could be a few months, years, or "whenever."  They don't give estimates of when it will be fixed.  Exactly WHY this is happening is unclear, but my guess is that it is a modification to the iCloud server code that Apple implemented without testing it thoroughly enough to discover this problem.  Apple does not admit to that, of course and I don't know if I am correct.
A WORKAROUND SOLUTION THAT WORKED FOR ME:
Please note this is a workaround and not a full fix.  Apple needs to run a patch on their iCloud server code.  Until then, I did the following which seems to have worked for me for now.  Read the whole list before deciding whether to proceed.  I don't guarantee it will work in all situations.
Note...I found I was stuck for now with the color of ONE of my calendars.  If you are like me, you want to keep that one and work around it....
Backup first... Make sure that your iCloud copy of your calendar data has the calendar event information you want to save - even if the color is wrong.  Log in at www.icloud.com and do a refresh to sync to the Cloud.  Check over your calendars online to make sure the event data appears to be there for all of your calendars (even if their color or name is not what you want).
    Steps:
    1.     Go to every device that you have linked to iCloud separately. Go into Settings, iCloud, and then uncheck the "Calendars" option.  This delinks your calendars for that device to iCloud.  As you do this on each device, when prompted, select "Keep On My" ..iPAD...iPhone...iMac... etc.  This will preserve the calendar information on the device so it won't be deleted.  I think this is safer, but you can click on "Delete" if you want, too.  Note - if one of your devices is an iMac, with OSX Lion and before, you may be forced (I was) to delete the iCloud calendars from the iMac.  So again, make sure they are backed up to the Cloud first (or somewhere else).
    3.     With the iCloud Calendars Option on all your devices still turned off, go to the WEB and log into iCloud.com.  You need to figure our which calendar iCloud won't let you change the color for.  You probably already know.  On iCloud.com, click on "Calendars," then click open your calendar list and select "EDIT" at the bottom of the dialog box.  One at a time, click on the color dots next to each calendar name and try to change the color (you can put any back after the test if you want). You will probably see a certain one that just goes right back to what you don't want.  This is the one for which the color is stuck, but you may be able to change the name of it now that your devices are unlinked from iCloud.
    4.     Still in iCloud.com, change the names and colors of any of the other calendars you wish to change.  Delete any empty calendars that mysteriously appeared without your wanting them.  Take note of all the calendars, names, and colors that are on the final list of calendars.
    5.     On EVERY device, BEFORE turning iCloud back on on ANY of them: Change the colors and/or names of calendars, delete calendars, etc. so that the calendar names and colors on the device are exactly the same as what you left in iCloud.com in the last step.
    6.   One at a time on each device, go back to Settings and then "iCloud" and check again the box for "Calendars."  You will be asked whether you want to "MERGE" your data with iCloud.  I selected MERGE to ensure I didn't lose anything.  Link each device again into iCloud one at a time.
    7.  When each device is back, go back to iCloud on the Web, or go into iCAL on one of your devices.  Set to view ALL calendars.  Look for duplicates of some of your events.  I found quite several as an artifact of "merging", but in my case it only took me about 5 minutes to go through quickly and delete the duplicates.  It deleted the duplicates on all of the devices at once, so I only needed to delete dups on one device.  I did not find that I lost any events as long as I kept one valid copy.
Again, no guarantees...hope this works for others.  Good luck.

I'm getting the same thing and it's really bugging me! Keeps changing colour to one I do not want and I have tried everything to get it to stay the colour I have chosen!!

  • How do I change the color on the task icon in my calendar?

    Hello!
I just got a Blackberry Pearl 8110 and I want to take the most out of the calendar feature. I set so it shows my tasks in the calendar - I'm currently using the weekly view. The little icon/dash that shows up in my calendar to indicate the due date of my task is bright neon green and I can barely see it. Is there a way to change the color of that icon?
    Thanks so much!!

I don't believe this is an option on a BlackBerry. You only have an option to change the appointment color on the calendar.

  • How can I change the color of subscribed calendar?

    Hello!
I have subscribed two calendars from the internet at my ipad. They automatically got the colors green and red. Now I wanted to change these colors. So I did it and changed them in the calendar-app of the iPad to blue and yellow. At first it worked. But after a few minutes, the colors automatically changed back to green and red. And that happens all the time. Whenever I change the colors of my subscribed calendars, they automatically change back a few moments later.
Why does it happen? And how can I make my iPad keep the new color settings?
    I am using iOS 5.0.1

I figured out a solution for changing the other calendars but not the birthday calendar. Although it's not the most direct fix, it worked for me. Apparently Apple didn't think to give us the ability to choose the calendar color. I use Entourage and sync over the air. When I upgraded to iOS 4 my calendar turned bright red and the birthday calendar was blue. I don't use the birthday calendar so it isn't even enabled in my case. What finally worked was to go through the calendar colors one at a time by disabling and re-enabling the calendar in my mail account settings. I would double click the home button to quickly switch between settings and calendar to check the color each time I enabled the calendar. I had to do this 4 or 5 times to cycle through until blue came back up.

  • ICal calendar color won't change

I've tried changing the color for my Work calendar in iCal multiple times.  I've done it on my iPad, iMac and finally at the iCloud website.  Each time I try to change it, it defaults to purple.  Any ideas about this?  Thanks in advance.

I just ran into this and it's maddening. I've had the same color Work calendar for years (green), and now it's purple and won't stay green.
