Changing Cell Phone Carriers...Question?
I have the Family Share Plan, I have the primary line, I am eligible for an upgrade. My daughter has a phone and is eligible for an upgrade on 7/10/12, my son has the 3rd line and is also currently eligible for an upgrade. I'm thinking about trying a different cell phone carrier and can't seem to find out if I will be charged for canceling my Verizon service on all 3 lines. I can't seem to get any answers, does anyone know how this works?
You need to forget the "eligibily for upgrade date" and look at your actual "CONTRACT DATE" which is 24months from when you activated your phones.
If you decide to move another carrier, you can keep your phone number. All you have to do is 1) dont disconnect your service from VZW before you talk to your new carrier that you want to transfer to. 2) you need to make one of your childrens phones the primary account, and make your line an "addon" line or secondary number. You have to becareful about doing this because you may loose things like unlimited data on that number that is being switched to become the primary line. 3) Have the new carrier do the number transfer. They will automatically notify VZW through the GOVT CLEARINGHOUSE that you are no longer a VZW customer on that one phone number. VZW will then disconnect that line from their billing and will send you a final bill on that line.
Be sure to ask questions from your new carrier about the process. -
Okay so my friend was given a phone it is in active right know but was wondering how much it would cost to activate it with a new number the phone with still be on the original plan.
If the phone is currently active on a current number, it will need to be deactivated before it can be used on another number. If it isnot currently active, you can dial *228 option 1 and follow the prompt to activate it on a different number.
Your best bet would be to call customer service and explain what you want to do - we are simply other customers and cannot do anything specific to your account.
Your question was a bit unclear, so I'm confused on exactly what you want to do, and that makes it hard to say what it will cost, if anything. Call customer service from a phone not involved in the swap, and let them help you work it out. -

If out of warranty, then there is nothing you can do and you'll have to pay. -
My apple id account is setup with my dads cell phone number, so on my iMessages on my mac i get my dads texts messages, is there anyway to change it so my phone number is the one receiving messages on my mac?

If you're talking about the phone number on your iPad for iMessage, the number is associated with the ID when you turn on iMessage on your iPhone. If the number is incorrect, try turning off iMessage on your phone, wait a minute or so, then turn it back on.

How can I change the active Midlet using the '*' cell phone button

I've got a problem trying to do that in J2ME MIDP:
'I have different class extending Midlet that I want to display one after the other. The change may be done when I click the '*' button of my cell phone'
For the moment I've created a main class that extend Canvas and which contain a vector of objects extending Midlet.
I'm able to change the objet which I want to display, but not to display it....
Is it possible to do that?
Do you have any idea of how to deal with that?

I need an interaction between a Midlet class and a Canvas class.
In fact I have several forms, and I need to allow my Canvas class to change the form displayed when a button is pressed.
But If I have a form in a Midlet , I can display it but can't catch the click on a button.
And if my Canvas is displayed I don't know how to display the form I want to.
So is it possible to do that... and if so, how?

I recently downloaded ios7.1 to my ipad and my wife's cell phone # appeared on my ipad. It would not let us change it. Now I am getting her text messages and she is getting the apps I load on her iphone4S. We both have iphone 4S, but she has version 7.1 and I still have 6.0 because I didn't like the changes in v.7.0. We share an Apple ID and password which was not a problem before. My daughter says this is our problem, as she had her husband had this issue. She doesn't know how he fixed it. Has anyone else had this issue and can you tell us how to separate our Apple ID/passwords if this is, indeed, the problem?
If you share an Apple ID, both of your phone numbers should be linked to that ID. You should be able to use your phone number as well. My wife, my daughter and I all share an Apple ID for purchases, and we each text from our iOS devices using our own iPhone numbers.
When iOS 6 came out, you were able to link the phone number with your Apple ID to use for Messages and FaceTime. You will need to sign out of messages on all devices and then start the process all over again.

In Dreamweaver 6, I created a new fluid layout. I set up (4) DIVs. In the 3rd div, I changed the font color. The new color shows up on the website when viewed in my computer desktop, but, when viewed in a tablet and a cell phone, the color of the font does not change. It's the same in Dreamweaver's Live view. It shows the new color on Desktop view and not in the cell phone or tablet view. Also, I changed the font itself in one of the DIVs and it shows up in the new font on the desktop view and website viewed thru the computer, but, not on the tablet or cell phone. Can someone please explain. I want to be able to change the fonts and colors for viewing in the tablet and cell phone, also. The fonts were all standard fonts. Sans-erif and Verdana and Arial were tried. Thanks.

You need to set up the accounts in System Preferences/Accounts, then activate Fast User Switching.
That way you can quickly log in to your own account - then back to his.
You should obviously have different passwords. -

How to change photo size settings on cell phones and tablets
I've worked in graphic design for many years, but I just encountered a new situation for me.
In the past, whenever I got photos from a digital camera or even a cell phone, the default pixel settings were more than sufficient to work with. For example, the default pixel settings on my digital camera are 4608x3456.
But in this situation, I'm getting photos from technicians who know nothing of computer graphics. I need to crop their photos to 640x480. But some of them are coming in smaller than that (one is 234x420).
I believe they are taking these photos with their cell phones or their tablets (but they could be using different brands).
So I've been asked to instruct them in how to take their photos so they come out big enough for us to crop to the appropriate size.
But I always thought that the defaults for all devices that take photos are pretty huge, like my own digital camera. I don't understand why any would come in so small, unless the techs tried to edit the photo themselves before sending it to us.
So is there a way to change the photo settings on smart phones and tablets? If so, is it pretty similar for different brands, or will I have to research and give instructions for every brand they have?
Or, do you agree that they might be trying to edit their photos themselves before sending them?Hi,

When I'm on a secure site, like my bank, or my cell phone account, I can't download my bank statement or cell phone bill. If I click on my bank statement, it will take me to a page with the list of my statement months. When I click on a month, another page will appear that says "about blank", but then nothing appears on the page. I'm guess it's a security setting, or a proxie setting, but I don't know which, or what to change it too. Help?? If I use I.E. (which I hate to use) everything works okay. Same problem if I try and download my cell phone bill from Verizon. Thanks

No I don't have any firewall that I know of that could affect the Desktop app. I have reviewed the link you sent across and the results are as follows:
1. Make sure you can connect to the internet.
Yes, internet is all good... no problems here.
2. Make sure that you can access secure sites:
Yes, I can access secure sites as tested by the example in the list (https://www.adobe.com).
3. Check your hosts file.
Test successful after going to: https://lm.licenses.adobe.com
Moving on to reset the hosts file...
I've followed the instructions and I get to "Select the hosts file and open it".
If I simply double click, then the default is to open in TextEdit.
Once open, I go to find File > Save As, but it only says, "Save a Duplicate" and then once I save a duplicate, I don't know where to save it because the Save window only shows the basic folders and I don't know how to get back into the /etc folder from the Private files.
More instructions please, if possible?

Why not launch a Apple satelite and offer Apple Tv. Could also offer satelite cell phone. Would be a real game changer.
Sure why not, and they can make their own lauch vehicles too and offer space rides for everyone. I mean, if spending many, many 100's of billions to put satellites up there anyway, what is a few 100 billion more?

I changed out my old cell phone for a Motorola zoom and now the zoom has my old phone number associated with it's sim card. I just purchased a Samsung Android cell phone and would like to trade the sim from my new to cell to the zoom so I can have my old cell phone number back. The problem is the sim cards are different sizes. Is this something I can take to a store and get switched out?
