Changing Chinese input then Mac Stuck

As the title,I upgrade my Mac from 10.6.8 to 10.7. W
hen I want to change the input method from US/Canada French... to Traditional Chinese - Zuyin,
then my Mac stuck, and no response until restart it forcely.
I google how to resolve it, some users said ' I just put it a while let the ball spinning around, then my Mac OK!',
But mine isn't useful!
Is there any function to make it works? Or I need waiting Apple release hotfixes

I have the same problem. On my iMac it works fine, but on the MacBook Pro, the whole OS X Lion crashes/freezes..
I hope there is a fix soon.

Traditional Chinese input 注音(Zhuyin) gets stucked frequently in safari

Since I updated to Lion last night, the traditional Chinese input Zhuyin is not working in web page.
Even I switch to english and switch back, it still not working but English is okay!
At the same time the Google search bar at top right side of Safari does not have this issue.

Chinese input using mac trackpad is not working in firefox 18

i was trying to use my mac trackpad to input chinese on the web page and found out it is not working ... i switched to use firefox recently from safari which is working fine with input chinese using mac trackpad ... i am using version 18 and search the support and found out it worked in firefox 16 and not working in version 17 & 18 ... to my surprise that how could it worked in version 16 and not working in version 17 & 18 ... how could you removed the function away with the updated version? ... i thought you will have more efforts to improve the functions rather to remove functions in an open source programming approach ... i do not know if there is any person responsible to put this function back to firefox in the coming update?...
can any person provide any comment on this issue? ... i hope this could be resolved asap...
please advise...

in firefox 18, there is NO options tab under tools tab...
in firefox 18, under tools tab, there are only web search, downloads, add-ons, set up sync, web developer, page info, start private browsing, clear recent history, adblock plus...
i have searched around and could not find the option for "Use hardware acceleration when available"...
please advise...

BUG: Chinese Input doesn't work properly in Illustrator CC (Mac)

As what the title says, inputting Chinese characters in Illustrator CC on Mac is not possible.
Is there any way to fix this besides waiting for Adobe to release a patch?

Which input system are you using?
Is it a problem with mixed text or is the text all in English?
I have tried inputting Chinese using the Mac Simplified Pinyin input system in Illustrator and it seems to work.

If you're not going to use the drive on a Windows machine, you should use Disk Utility (Applications>Utilities folder) to erase the drive and format it as "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" with a single GUID partition (default):

How do you type Chinese on a Mac?

How do you type the Characters on a Mac. I have seen different ways to do it but they were all for Microsoft computers. If there are writing pads or a software that changes pinyin into characters please tell me. Thanks.

You go to system prefs/international/input menu and check the box for the chinese input methods you want to use, plus the box for "show input menu in finder." Then you select the IM in the "flag" menu at the top right of the Finder and type away. Hitting the space bar should give you a selection of hanzi if necessary. Now on iOS 5.1.1 - Chinese Input STILL not working 3+ years later

I have just updated to iOS 5.1.1 and after ONE day I already have to restore my iPad. This is, of course, after reinstalling all kinds of apps and getting data back into my programs.
I added several languages to the keyboard options but everytime I tried to change from English (the default) to another one (almost always Chinese Pinyin) it would crash.
So I thought I had too many languages installed. So I uninstalled every single one except English and Chinese Pinyin.
The Chinese Pinyin would STILL crash. So stupidly (I say this because Apple doesn't think to add "safety nets" to their bugs) I removed English and left ONLY Chinese Pinyin.
Now when I go into ANY program and "click" on a text box, the app will crash. Every single app (except Spotlight, strangely enough.)
The worst part is, when I open Settings and go to Keyboard, the Settings app immediately crashes, so there is literally NOTHING I can do at this point.
Here we are on iOS 5 and the problems with Chinese Input (and many other foreign languages) are NOT fixed. Actually this seems to have gotten worse because now my iPad won't even function without a restore.
This is disgusting. I have read MANY complaints about this in ENGLISH forums. Imagine the 10's of millions of Chinese people that have purchased iOS devices and are facing these problems. I guess Apple is forcing them to type in English? I guess Apple doesn't understand that just as many people type in Chinese as English?
When is this going to be fixed?
Does anyone have a quick solution to access the Keyboard section of my Settings to "fix" the problem (remove Chinese Pinyin and live without it again)?
I use my iPad for 2 things: to read my school textbooks (mostly pdf format, using GoodReader which is an excellent program) and for studying Chinese. Well guess I can't study Chinese. Thanks for not fixing a problem that has been going on for 3+ years, Apple! Glad I'm using an Android phone that doesn't have these kind of problems. After the iPad dies, I will definitely switch to an Android tablet. What a joke.

I was having the same problem few minutes ago. Here's the solution I found. You have to do these settings in all your apple devices (ie: iPhone, iPad, etc). In your iPad: first got to Settings, then to messages (make sure iMessage slider button is ON), the go to Receive at, then in the apple ID you have to sign in with your full email address (not your short apple ID) the same one you use in iCloud, iTunes, etc, then after you put your password your are sign in with your iMessage account.
After that go to You can be reached for messages at, and then enter you full email address and since you are already signed in your email address will be verified in your device. In you iPhone use your cell number instead an email address since most of your contacts know your phone number, but you have a choice to use your email address instead with your phone. So it's up to you what you wanna use.
Rememeber you also have to do this same procedure with Facetime to work with all you devices. To test Facetime i called my iPhone with my new iPad and voila...it worked. Good luck trying these settings.

Bug in Chinese input (Pinyin Simplified)

Hello, I think I've found a bug in the OS' language input for Chinese input. It just doesn't seem to like writing the combination of letters 'zhe'. This is really annoying, as these letters spell the Mandarin for 'This', amongst other things, so I want to use it quite a lot. Every time I try to write 'zhe' using 'Pinyin- Simplified' it works fine for the first two letters, then when I type 'e' it beachballs and then just writes the English letter 'e' instead of giving me a choice of characters spelt 'zhe'. The 'zh' just disappears. Any more writing is just rendered in the English alphabet, despite the symbol for Pinyin- Simplified being displayed on the menu bar, unless I switch out and in of input languages. Resetting in this way doesn't cure the problem. This only seems to happen for 'zhe' as far as I can discover - 'zhou', 'zhi' 'zhang' etc. render in Chinese just fine.
Perhaps someone could test this on their machine, and let me know whether it's a problem with my computer or the OS, and give me suggestions on how to fix it, if possible? I'd be grateful for any help.

I can't duplicate your problem with 这 or 你。But I am only on 10.6.3.

SOLVED-after reboot i got "Loading initial ramdisk" and then it stuck.

before it happened i did pacman -Syu and it did installed couple of things but i didn't see what.
i remember that it installed new "sudo".
it installed couple more but again, i didn't look so i can't say what .
also, before it happened i tried to see files on my phone using obexfs(didn't succeed).

i made folder moto-g(this is my phone) in /mnt
so now i had /mnt/moto-g
then i ran this command:
obexfs -b devices_MAC_address /mountpoint
of course i changed the MAC and mountpoint to the right ones
it worked(didn't get error) but i could not see my files in my phone using nautilus.
then i rebooted to windows(i have dual boot arch and windows), connect my moto g to the computer using usb cable, got the picture i want from the phone, disconnect the phone from the usb cable, but the cable was still connected to the computer, and then reboot again to archlinux.
and now i can't get into arch anymore.
when i boot to arch it says:
booting arch linux
loading linux linux
loading initial ramdisk
and then it stuck and stay there.
i tried to insert live cd of arch and boot from it, but i can't.
when i try to boot from live cd, i get into this lines:
decompressing linux... parsing ELF... done
booting the kernel
and then it stuck.
it stays there and nothing happen.
what can i do to solve this?

i did pacman -Syu couple of days ago, before this last system update.
this is what i installed in the latest update.
from pacman.log (i'm using ubuntu live cd to see this, because arch live cd doesn't work now)

Go to system preferences/keyboard/input sources and try deleting your Chinese input sources. Then restart and try adding them back in.
A further approach is to reinstall you OS.

Did you go into Settings > Store and then tap your old ID, sign out and then enter your new ID?

I go to my settings and i change something and then i hit the home button and it wont let me go home. So i then try to turn my screen of and turn it back on to see if that will help. It will not shut off either. How do i fix this problem?

A reset may help. Tap and hold the Home button and the On/Off buttons for approximately 15-20 seconds, until the Apple logo reappears. When the logo appears, release both buttons.
No content is affected by this procedure.

I have tried the help menu. It only shows how to open the track info pane in the old garageband. It shows the info button, which is not in garageband anymore. I need to open the track info pane to change the input level. If there is another way to do this please tell me.

Open the "Smart Controls" for your track, and then press the Info button .
The "record level" slider is at the top of the Info panel below the track heads.

How to change the input language ?

I am writing an Add-on that needs to change the input language when the user
clicks on the Item Code field ("5") in the "Item Master Data" form.
I can perform the change when I am out side of the SAP application (for example if I create a Windows Form), however I cannot control the input language of the SAP itself through code.
I even tried using Application.Sendkeys, however I was unable to send a combination of ALT+SHIFT, or at least it did not have any affect
Here is the code on how to change the input language on a Windows Form:

I am not sure I understand the problem. Anyway in B1 you change the language by
changing it from the Administration module. This raises a Application event that
is sent to all the add-ons. The event is aet_LanguageChanged and you should
then change the language handled by your add-on when you receive it.

Back up all data.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
Select the login keychain from the list on the left side of the Keychain Access window. If your default keychain has a different name, select that.
If the lock icon in the top left corner of the window shows that the keychain is locked, click to unlock it. You'll be prompted for the keychain password, which is the same as your login password, unless you've changed it.
Right-click or control-click the login entry in the list. From the menu that pops up, select Change Settings for Keychain "login". In the sheet that opens, uncheck both boxes, if not already unchecked.
From the menu bar, select
Keychain Access ▹ Preferences ▹ First Aid
If the box marked Keep login keychain unlocked is not checked, check it.
Select
Keychain Access ▹ Keychain First Aid
from the menu bar and repair the keychain. Quit Keychain Access.
