Changing clips to anamorphic after adding to timeline?

I have clips from several cameras all shot in widescreen SD. In my bin the anamorphic column was NOT checked for 2 of 3 camera angles. The sequence is SD anamorphic. Now on the timeline, 2 of the cameras look 4:3.
I checked off anamorphic but this does not change what is already in the sequence (if I add video again it does appear anamorphic). Since I have already edited the video - how do I make what is already on the timeline appear anamorphic?

So let's not getting confused here.
You say "...did uncheck Distort...."
I hope you wanted to say you did 'checkmark' Distort. Because that's what you need to do. Select everything in the timeline. Command Option V > Check Distort (If it's not already). Hit OK.
And make sure your sequence is Anamorphic:
Command 0 (zero) to open Sequence Settings. Make sure Anamorphic is checked (√)
Now that's to solve the problem you already had. But that did not fix your multiclip, which was created fro clips that were not properly flagged as anamorphic. Here's that fix:
To do so. Find Your Multiclip in the Browser. Now find the Anamorphic Column in the browser.
Now Doubleclick the Multiclip from the Browser. It opens in the viewer. Clcik on the first Angle. See now in the Browser if Anamorphic is checked (it must have this √-sign. If not. Click in the column to make it Anamorphic (√).
Now in the Viewer click on the second Angle. See in the Browser if there's the Anamorphic flag set for this Angle, etc.
Do this for all angles.
Now you can edit with all anamorphic footage.
If this doesn't work I think it is time to trash preferences....

Clips get removed after adding to timeline...?

First time with iMovie. I am trying to create a short film. I imported my movie from my camcorder (it put it nicely into clips), but then when i add certain clips to the timeline, they get removed from the main clips library. So if i wanted to use the clip again, or a certain section of the clip, i have to keep going back in my movie and copying the specific clip i need, which takes forever to find. If i've trimmed the clip in the timeline, i can't review the entire clip anymore.
Basically i need the clips to stay in the library. Is this possible?

Field sequence Change in Sales order after adding new field( Resolved)

Hi I have added a new filed into sales order/item overview.(addded thr se51-layout ) . but when i go to va01/02/03, i noticed that the field sequence is changed due to my new field.(but when i see the layout its differnt and correct.)( even i checked changing the groups also)
Is there something i need to do..?Please advise. Thanks a lot.

Table view is configurable in VA01/02/03.( No matter where you add the new fields)
Users can always move them to desired position.

Background disappears after adding a cross dissolve to a keyed clip.

I have a clip that has a Keying filter (as well as being cropped and scaled down) on it over a white background. After adding a Cross Dissolve to the keyed clip, the white background disappears for the duration of the Cross Dissolve, leaving a black background behind the keyed clip. This black background is present both in preview and after rendering.
Any advice?

not positive this will help, but try this:
remove the transition
right-click and sselect "make compound clip" (or Option G)
within the compound clip, drop a white solid under the keyed clip; do not place any transitions at either end of the compound clip.
return to your storyline / sequence
place your transition again and see if it's fixed
if you still do not have a clean dissolve, remove the transition and then click once on the compound clip and go to around 8 or 12 frames before the end and in the inspector, go to the opacity and add a keyframe and then arrow right to the frame before the last frame and add another keyframe and drag the opacity value to zero.

Crashing after adding audio clips

So I have had to rebuild my 50 minute vacation movie 3 times now due to the files become corrupt after adding audio clips. The audio clips are legit and not just downloaded from a random site. Happens with different songs not just particular ones.

Here is a good tutorial for how audio works. In your case, you want to drag and drop the music track on top of one of your video clips at the frame where you want the music to begin.

UDF in documents lines that can be Change after adding the doc.

How can i create a UDF in documents lines that can be change after adding the doc? He need to mark some of the lines to already audit or not audit and the date of the action.

It also depends on what documents you are wanting to add these comments to. On documents such as the A/R Invoice/ Delivery, and A/P Invoice/ Goods Receipt PO you cannot change the UDFs on the line item after the document is added (regardless of whether the document is closed). Sales Orders/ Quotes and Purchase Orders line item UDFs can be changed as long as the line hasn't been closed (or partially received/delivered/invoiced).
Hopefully that makes sense. I could give more of an explanation if I knew what documents you were wanting to add these line item comments to.

Can't Activate changes after adding a few Watches/Notifications

I've been setting up some WLDF modules on our servers for the first time. On several of my servers I will randomly get errors when I try to Activate and changes that I've made in the Diagnostic Modules section of the Console. It hangs and I get the error below.. In this particular instance I've already added about 5 Watches and 6 Notifications in one WLDF module.When I try to do anything else, whether it's trying to remove or add, I get errors during Activation.. I tried on two other domains, and they won't even let me edit the default Watches...

I created a new MailSession (which Activated just fine) and then tried to assign that to one of the Notifications, and it still won't activate.. I'm at a loss here. Has anyone else seen this before?

This issue can occur when there are two changes done simultaneously and WebLogic Server is still processing the first one. The thread waits for the completion of first task and then tries to acquire the lock on the second one.

Changing transition changes time of clip before and after???

When I add or change the transition time, after it renders, the time of the clip before and after the transition automatically changes. I've done it several times and it shortens the time of the clips before and after the transition. Why does it do tht? Its driving me nuts. I keep changing back the time on the clip but when it re-renders it goes back to the time after I changed the time on the transition. Help please thanks lots

Hi Iluvvartan - that is normal. Transitions use portions of the clips adjacent to them. Cross dissolves for example take a portion from each, and the total length of the project is reduced. The Overlap transition only affects the length of one of the adjacent clips, and the total length of the project remains unchanged.

Why changing clip's in/out points leaves gap in timeline?

When I change a clip's in/out points in the viewer, it leaves a gap in the timeline (while preserving the overall duration of the sequence).
Is there any way to change the in/out points so that there won't be a gap (adjacent clips move next to changed clip). I've tried the overwrite edit. Do I need to use the ripple or roll delete tool? If so, how would I do it?

The surprise for newbies is that FCP is remarkably deep and complex. It comes with 2000 pages of manuals. Thinking it should or will behave like any other application you've ever known, including other video apps, is silly.

GoPro clip added to timeline has no audio.. sometimes.

I've been bashing my head against this one all day.
I've been attempting to use multiple clips shot with different GoPro's. As I add the clips to the timeline in PP (CC2014) I lose the audio for the second/third/fourth added clips. The behaviour is very odd. Starting with a new project (default settings), I can drag a GoPro clip to the timeline, either from the media browser or the bin, and the clip adds normally. Adding a second or third or more clip adds a clip without audio. If I double click that clip in the media browser, it plays in the source window with audio. Playing the clip in VLC or other players shows that it has audio. Start back at the beginning, create another new project, and when I grab the second clip from the previous project it adds normally to the timeline. Only the second/third etc clips added in a project lose their audio.
If I select 10 clips from the bin and create 'new sequence from clip' then all the audio is present in all ten clips.
I've transcoded the clips using Prelude. I've trimmed and exported the clips from GoPro Studio 2.0. This occurs with clips created with and without using protune, and on various levels of camera (white up to black+).
What am I missing? Something simple, I'd guess. I've not been able to find any clues on google...

fixed, and it was simple (and inexplicable)..
to the left of the timeline are various little boxes to be turned on and off. the left most panel, the top of which says 'insert or overwrite sequences as nests or individual clips' has two tabs below, V1 and A1. In my case, my A1 had been turned 'off'. So, when I have that A1 highlighted, everything works normally. Turned off, your second or third placed clip will have no audio. Bizarre? I need to learn more..
I must've clicked that in error some time ago. Curious that it appears to have appeared in multiple projects. Do basic project settings like that last in preferences?

Everything in your project will be exported when you use the share menu.
If you want to export only half, I suggest that you
1) Select the project in the Project Library.
2) Click FILE/DUPLICATE PROJECT
3) Give the duplicate a name, like Project A snippet.
4) Open the duplicate project in the Project editor and delete the segments that you do not need.
5) Then Share.
You mentioned surrounding a portion of the clip you were editing in Yellow. Once you do this, you should right-click and then select either DELETE SELECTION, TRIM TO SELECTION, or one of the other options available. That is a key tool in editing.
You mentioned MPEG Streamclip. I agree that MPEG Streamclip is a great tool.

How to modify clip borders after "Open in Timeline"?

I have a little clip in the main timeline history and I make "Open in Timeline". Now I can't modify the clip borders from inside this internal timeline. I thought I could grab the side arrows and extend or shorten this clip but I can't. Am I missing something???

Why would you want to do that?!
There are very few situations where one would be advised to use this.
Instead, if you want to use a larger section of the clip, drag it to a project timeline and extend by draggind the yellow lines at the ends of the clip.

Adding a Clip in the middle of the timeline

I know this is a dumb question, but I've been watching tutorials and reading about FCE; however, I cannot locate an explanation of how to insert a clip in the center of the timeline or a transition in the center of the timeline without messing everything else up.

I assume you want to insert a clip between 2 others?
Drag the clip to where the other 2 "join".
If you do it carefully, you will notice that the cursor arrow points right when you have it in the top half of the timeline and swivels to point down when you move it to the bottom half of the timeline.
To insert your new clip you must release it while the cursor is pointing right.
A bit more info:
When the arrow is pointing right, showing that you are about to insert the clip, the clip is displayed with a thick dark line around it.
If the arrow is pointing down, showing that it is going to over-write the underlying clip, the clip turns from blue to brown.

Clips automatically lengthened when dragged into timeline

I'm new to FCP X, just as I am with video editing so please forgive my noviceness!
When I drag clips from the Event Library into the Timeline(?) (The bit at the bottom, where you arrange the clips) they are automatically made longer. For example, one clip has a length of 54 seconds in the event library, but when dragged into the timeline, it has been stretched to 56 seconds. I'm trying to match a band's studio recording footage to the finished audio and it is impossible when the clips are slowed down (and subsequently lower in pitch).
Is there a setting I need to know about to prevent this? How can I fix this problem?

If you mark the 'In' and 'Out' points and then press the 'E' key, the clip should be added to the Timeline exactly as marked in the Event Library.
Press 'Q' to add it above the Timeline as a Connected Clip at the Skimmer or the Playhead position.
Press 'W' to insert it into the Timeline at the Skimmer or the Playhead position (all the other clips will be pushed along the timeline to make room for it).
Press 'D' to overwrite it to the Timeline at the Skimmer or the Playhead position.
If you try some of these options and the clip duration changes, I suggest you trash your preferences.
Unexplained faults like this can often be fixed by clearing out FCP X's preferences (for some reason, they get knotted up from time to time).
Download Digital Rebellion's Preference Manager (free, simple to use, and perfectly safe, both to download and use).

With Preference Manager, you can backup the Prefs when FCP X (or any of the Apple Professional Applications) are working normally. Then when either of the applications are acting strangely, Trash the Preferences, then Restore from your backups (just a mouse-click).
If you trash the prefs and don't restore them, you will need to manually restore all your FCP X settings again, so it's a great idea to backup Preferences from time to time when FCP X is working well, then your backups are up to date.
Doesn't fix every problem, but it fixes a lot.
