Changing color profile in Lightroom 5 Soft Proofing from ProPhotoRGB to sRGB is not showing any changes, changes in Photoshop CC are dramatic
I am working with the color profile ProPhoto RGB in both Lightroom 5 and Photoshop CC. In preparing for my first Blurb book I have tried to generate pictures in sRGB in Lightroom, using the Soft Proofing feature, but there are no changes at all. Then I transfer the same pictures into Photoshop, change the color profiles and the results are dramatically different.
What can I do to achieve the same results in Lightroom
With an average monitor what you see on-screen is already soft proofed to sRGB (or something very close to it), because that's all the monitor is capable of displaying anyway. So soft proofing to sRGB won't tell you anything. You won't see any difference.
In Photoshop it sounds as if you assign profiles. That's not the way to do it. If you convert correctly you won't see any difference. Same principle as above: there may be clipping in the process, but what you see on screen is already clipped, so no visual on-screen difference.
With a wide gamut monitor soft proofing becomes slightly more useful. But still you won't see any changes occurring outside Adobe RGB. You'll get a better idea by keeping an eye on the histogram. Ideally, all three channels should taper gently off towards the endpoints. If any one or two channels are backed solidly up against the endpoint, on either side, that's gamut clipping.
If Blurb gave you a real profile, one that reflected their actual printing process, you could soft proof to that. But apparently they don't.

I am using Macbook Pro, Photoshop CC, and Lightroom 5.

But it does not help.The problem with write permissions for the OneDrive folder only shows up in Lightroom 6's export dialogue, that's why it's to irritating. Lightroom 5.7.1 is not having that problem nor does the file explorer. The problem also exists on both of my machines. Color profiles in Lightroom 3 for online printing

I would like to know if I can enter color profiles in Lightroom 3 for online printing. I am going to use Adormapix and they have color profiles for each paper. Is there a way to do this in LR 3 and if not is this available in LR 4 or 5? I plan to upgrade in the next 6 months but may upgrade sooner if I need to.Generally, profiles provided by labs are not for imbedding, or converting the image to send for on-line printing. They are used to simulate the final output on your screen so you have an idea what you will be getting back from the lab on that paper. This is called soft proofing. It is available in Lightroom 4 or 5 by hitting the [S] key while in the Develop module. Choosing a profile in the Soft Proofing dialog that appears beneath the histogram is a way to see how your final print will approximately appear on a selected media.
From Adorama's website: "We print in sRGB color space, so for best results convert your images before uploading." meaning that you will want to send Adorama sRGB images only. When you create a JPEG file to send to Adorama, you will want to specify sRGB in the Lightroom Export dialog under File Settings. -
Picture color profile in Lightroom vs Photoshop CS2 editing
Hi all, I hope someone can solve this for me.
When I'm viewing picture in Light room, all my pictures are a bit warmer ( have a yellowish tint to them ) compared to when I view them in Photoshop CS2. The same is true if I view them in other programs. This is true for all my picture file type (jpg, tif or raw). I get the feeling that it's Light room that in the wrong in how it displays the picture and not the other programs. Using the warms tool to make the picture a bit colder, only adds a bluish tint to the image which isn't even close to what it looks like (unedited) in Photoshop.
I get the feeling that Lightroom does something to the picture, or uses some sort of color profile, driver that other programs don't use.
Is there a way of changing this?>When I purchase these ADOBE products I expect them to JUST WORK!!!!!
Unfortunately, when Microsoft, Dell and others enter the fray it's no longer up to just the Adobe folks. Differences between Photoshop and Lightroom are almost always due to a corrupt monitor profile. Adobe has nothing to do with that.

I just want to be able to do my color correction and exposure corrections in Lightroom export as a High Res Jpeg and then do the remainder of my work in Photoshop and have them both look the same.
If your screen is correctly calibrated that will be the case. Unfortunately if you want to do color sensitive work on a computer with a typical monitor, you have to have a rudimentary understanding of profiles and color management. There is unfortunately no way around it. This is no different from traditional color photography where you have to understand what different film, different filters and different development do to your colors. The terminology is just different.

I am not one for the computer lingo....
OK. I'll assume first that you have no hardware calibrator and that you are on windows:
1. Make sure your Photoshop color settings are set up to respect embedded profiles. See the
first screenshot in this post(ignore everything else as it is no longer relevant in LR 2).
2. Open your monitor's properties panel, click on advanced and go to the color management tab. Delete any profile you see there. This is the culprit. Probably a bad profile got installed in some driver update for your graphics card or your monitor.
3. Restart Lightroom and Photoshop and that's it! You'll have corresponding colors. You are however, cheating yourself as your monitor is completely uncalibrated. This is how 99% of computer users run their monitors.
So here is what you should be doing if you care about your color and matching to print and making sure that others see the same colors. Even though hardly anybody calibrates, the only way to get a good average correspondence is to calibrate your monitor and use color managed apps. This sequence is valid for both macs and PCs
1. Do as above step one and make sure Photoshop is set up correctly and then go out and buy a hardware calibrator (or order online). They can be had for <$100 for pretty good ones. Look for example for Spyder2 and Huey Pro.
2. Calibrate your screen following the instructions from the software
3. Restart Lightroom and Photoshop. Now you'll have identical but correct color.
If you have a mac, you can cheat slightly and use http://www.computer-darkroom.com/colorsync-display/colorsync_1.htm instead of hardware calibration. You cannot expect very good correspondence between monitor and prints though with that method. -
How do I Batch change color profiles in CS4?
I need to change color profiles on hundreds of photos at a time. CS4 does not give me that option it seems, only lame options i'll never use
Probably easiest would be recording an Action of a conversion and running that with File – Scripts – Image Processor; Batch or Droplets are other ways of using an Action.
Scripting would be another option.

I send my photos to a lab for printing. Is there a way to use their color profiles in Lightroom or do I have to go back to Photoshop to do this? And, if I adjust the photo using the labs color profile in Photoshop will Lightroom recognize it?

j.You can "print" a color managed JPEG file out of Lightroom's print module and select any color profile on your system.(It's a handy way of utilizing the layout features in the print module while using your local lab) You can also select any color profile when exporting your file. The only place where color profiles are limited is the exchange between Lightroom and Photoshop. You can choose between the three most common color spaces at that point.
One other quick point, Lightroom is completely color managed. If your file is tagged with a valid ICC profile the application will respect and manage all of those details for you.

JMake sure that your date and time settings and time zone are accurate (Settings - General - Date and Time). Reset your phone to 'Set Automatically' and then try signing in again - this worked for me. My date/time settings were not automatic (candy crush cheats!!).

Some songs from my iTunes library do not show in my Finder music folder
Some songs from my iTunes library do not show in my Finder music folder. For example one of the three CD's form a triple album do not show in Finder. And therefore they do not get saved when I back up my Mac either. Any ideas?
Consolidate ("organize") simply looks at everything you have in iTunes and copies them to the iTunes media folder location specified in iTunes prefs -> Advanced. If you select to use the default settings iTunes will copy any files in its library in the correct location in the media folder. Since you don't want the files in a different locaiton really but just want to deal with some stragglers don't do the full "move" in hte instructions below but make sure they are organized.

The files will be copied so you will need to find the originals abd once you are content the library is working you can get rid of them (I often archive them on an external drive, delete the originals, then play the files which is a sure test if you have a workable copy on the computer). -

I have prepared a photo book, made a pdf and when I press "buy thhe book" it tells me that the book is missing photos on one ore more pages. The book does not miss any photos or text, all layouts are ok, the background color is ok. Can anybody help me?
You are missing one or more photos - youprobably have a page background that requires a photo which is behind a page with photos on it - all pages must either have a photo or be a color - if you have a gray background it requires a photo - look through the book carefully and be sure to look at the background on any full page photos - you will find one or more missing photos

My Apple TV is not showing any of my rentals at all. Even the category is missing completely. I have reset several times yo no avail! Anyone know what to do?
Welcome to the Apple community.
A number of people have reported similar issues recently, many appear to have found a discrepancy of some kind in their account settings and making changes to these settings or simply resetting them has resolved the matter.
Check your account details are correct, check that you are using the correct details for Location, Region and Time Zone. You may want to change these settings and then change them back to see if that helps.
You might also try logging out of and then back into your iTunes account (Settings > iTunes Store > Apple ID’s > Sign Out) and restarting your router. (Some have reported that after doing this, they need to check for rentals even though it may report that there aren’t any, after which rentals once again appear in the ‘movies’ feature)
Rentals should appear under their own heading in the ‘Movies’ feature, you might also check at Settings > iTunes Store > Check For Rentals. -
I have a Power Mac G4, it has OS 9. Imam trying to upgrade to OS 10.2.3 (Jaguar). It is going smoothly until I get to the "Select Destination" screen. It stalls there and does not show any disks to choose from.
Any ideas?

If it's a Digital Audio or earlier, you need to install a Firmware update first...

ABAP Query - Not showing the required changes through Z T.Code

I have a ABAP Query for OPEN DELIVERY QUANTITY (T.Code - ZABC). I change something in QUERY and activate. After that i execute it, and saw required changes.
But when i execute it with the T.Code - ZABC, it does not show the changes. Even i Save and Test with the SQ01 t.code.
Please tell me, what is the problem in it. Why not showing the required changes through T.Code - ZABC.

Dear, it seems that you have changed the query in SQ02 and then just save it and not generated.
or may be after generation again clicked on SAVE button.
So untill unless you will not generate the query, it won't work.
Secondly, by chanegs in the query, i don't think it changes the name of the main program.
