Changing colors in templates

Hello.
I am sure this is soooo easy and soooo obvious, but I am not seeing it. When using the Special Occasion template, there are some light blue boxes in the design. How can I change the color?
Thanks.

well suuuuuuuuuure it's easy! I mean, this is an Apple product, right?!?
Okay, sarcasm induced from my own frustration at trying to change what SHOULD be simple, aside, this is what you need to do. Using a text editor (BBedit is my fav) navigtate to:
/Applications/Aperture.app/Contents/Resources/Book Themes/Special Occasion/Hardcover/Graphics/BlueRect.plist
change line 5 which says: <string>{242, 255, 244, 100}</string> to whatever you want. They are (in order) Red, Green, Blue, Value and you will need some tool like the Digital Color Meter or Apple Color picker to help you translate your pref'd color into the necessary values. I'd recommend saving a copy of the file in case things go sideways.
Good luck, and in general anything you want to change can be done this way in the plist and other files in the packages.

  • Need to change color of template

I directed a client to a template site and they picked a template that was a PSD (attached) and I turned it into a working website. Now they tell me they want it to be blue instead of the green that it is. I am not sure where to start. I guess I need go to each layer and change the color to a variation of blue. Is there a quick way to do this? I am not even sure how to change colors. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

You do not need to do this for each layer. Just the ones with the color elements of the webpage, and only those that are visible. (eyeball on in layers panel)
When you select the layer, then you go to the Image menu,Adjustments, and select Variations. You can interactively experiment until you find what's best.
My layer thumbnails are large so I can see at a glance what element I'm looking at. Use the Layers Panel menu to get to Panel Options and select Large Thumbnails.
Of course back up that template before loading into PS in case you need to do it over.
    That should get you started.

I would like to change the colors on these templates...is there a hack for this?

There is no way to change the background color.
We may just mimic this feature thru insertion of a colored shape moved to the background.

  • Changing color in templates

I'm brand new to Pages and I'd like to change the green background color in the heading of Education newsletter template. Can I do that? Thanks.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions
You can do that easily. Click in the green box to select it (find a spot that doesn't select a banner or a picture) then in the Graphic Inspector click the drop down menu labeled Fill and choose Color Fill. Then click the colored box and choose your color.

    Also,
How to change the background color on a template too?
Thanks so much for the help!!!
PS: I am using the iWork, Pages...for this

    Hi Streater
    Welcome to the forum.
    There are 3 possiblilities:
*1. It is locked* and shows small grey crosses on the corners
    +Menu > Arrange > Unlock ( option command l)+
    *2. It is grouped*
    +Menu > Arrange > Ungroup ( option shift command g)+
*3. It is a scan or pdf*
    +Inspector > Metrics > File Info+
Need to edit it outside Pages in a graphics program.
If you can get at the object the colors and strokes etc are at:
    +Inspector > Graphic > Fill / Stroke+
Double click any color fields to get the color picker.

  • How To Make Shapes Change Colors When Clicking on them. Example Sheet Sales Data.xlsx template with Excel 2013

My question is related to the Sales Data.xlsx template that comes with Excel 2013
IN this workbook is a sheet named Sales Data. It has, 3 shapes. One each for each of the tab sheets in the workbook. When I click on the 'Sales Report' shape it selects the sales report tab. When you do this the shape changes color and the 'Sales Data' shape
    also changes color.
However I'm unable to figure out how the colors are changing.
I don't see any macros in the workbook/worksheet. Nor do I see any code for worksheet events. I don't see any modules in VBA either. I think what is happening is that there are 2 shapes. When you click on one, the one shape goes to the background and the
other one comes to the foreground.
I'm no sure how it's doing that.
Can someone look at this template, Sales Data.xlsx that comes with Excel and explain how this functionality works?
    Thank You
    Keith Aul

The shapes are exactly as I suspected, each of 3 sheets has 3 'navigation' shapes. The shape with the same name as the sheet has no hyperlink and is coloured differently to indicate it refers to the active sheet. The other two have hyperlinks linked to respective
sheets. 3x3 shapes, 9 in total, none of them ever change colour!
It's logical though not necessary to name each shape same as the sheet it links to, but they'd work just as well with their original default names.
For aesthetics, the shapes that refer to own sheet have a horizontal line on top, actually two shapes as a group.
If still confused copy each set of 3 shapes to a 4th sheet, or open two new windows so you can see all three sheets at the same time.

  • Changing color without modifying existing items.. problem!

    Hello,
I'm reletively new to flash, and am trying to modify a template and am running into a problem and I don't seem to know why Flash is acting so strange.
I am going into a movie clip to edit the color of an item, and when I do so with a tint, it overrides any additional effects such as light, and text. The color appears almost as if it were just slapped on top of everything.
When I edit the color in advanced mode, it is really a hit-or-miss to get the correct color, and will only modify when changing the offset RGB.
And also when doing this, the text gradually changes color, for example: there are 4 items in total that I want to edit the color of. Each item is a different colored box with text on the front (for a main Navigation of the website). --- The first item, the text will stay white. Gradually through the second and third items it starts to change, and by the fourth / last item, the text is completely blue.
Is it possible for a portion of text to be connected somehow to an object within the animation in a movieclip? If so, is it possible to go inside and edit this? -the shape, animation, and text?
Is there an easier way to change the color of an item inside a movie clip? I can supply additional information if needed.. files etc.
Am I doing something wrong / completely missing something?
Thank you very much in advance for any help and/or advice!
    New Flasher,
    Lisa

go one level deeper than the movieclip so you're editing the shape.

  • Change color of future typed text in a pasted document?

How do I change color of future typed text in a copied document? Thanks. My son is doing online home schooling this year and has Study Sheets that he types in his answers.  Currently, he highlights his typed text then chooses the color.   Is it possible to auto-format this somehow? Thanks!

Pages relies a lot on Styles. Either you can create a paragraph style with a green text colour or just create a character style with a text colour. Here is an image from a document with several character styles in colour.
In the second image I have instead created a Paragraph style with green text colour. This is the only way you can get a template to remember a change of colour as the default is alway black. To create the styles you click on the small triangle to the left of None (for character style) or Body (paragraph style) and choose Redefine style from selection. Save as Template.
More about this can you read in the Pages User Guide downloadable from your Pages Help menu.

  • Table Grid in Bex Analyzer / Changing color

    Hi Experts,
i created a workbook and would like to customize the ouput of the table grid so that after refreshing the color remain.
I would not like to color the cells manually. I would like to change in the code in VBA or somewhere the code centrally.
Is there a possibility to change it?
I read somewhere it is possible to change the query template. How to do it?
By chnaging the BW Style.css for the web template is it possible to apply it to the query ? how?
    Thank you in advance
    Cheers
    Gilo

    Hi Shafi,
thank you very much for your time and input.
    1.
When you colour the cells of the table grid in the Bex Analyser initially , when we refresh the data , it overwrites the formatting done locally in teh Excel. This is a standard behaviour of the Bex.
1.1 it is possible zto change that standar behavior? Is it possible to assign the color i would like to have just for my workbook, sothat by refreshing that color remain? In WAD is possible by chnaging the style sheet in BW.
can i anyhow change the style sheet and assign it to bex?
    2.
If you dont want the formatting that you applied to be overwritten, you can change enter design mode. Right Click on the Table grid and select properties. Then in teh Pop Up uncheck teh option Apply formatting. This way what ever formatting that you have done it in teh Excel Locally will remain teh same.
2.1 that is ok. But by drilling down it is not looking nice without Grid.
The code where to change the background color, Table grid color will be possible to find and customize.
Do you have a idea about it?
    Thanks

  • HOW TO CHANGE COLOR ON LITTLE SUB TITLE BAR UNDER THE HEADING?

    Hi,
I was successfully able to change the background color on the templates headed, but that little bar under it, that displays the links to your other pages within the site did not change with it, and I have tried everything but have not been successful. How do I do this?
    Thanks
    Jennifer

Those navbar links are generated by javascript and are not user editable. You can create your own navbar using a Text Based Navbar and then have complete control over font (stick with the Web Safe Fonts), color, size and rollover colors.
Cyclosaurus has posted an HTML snippet that can change the font style of the navbar of each page that the snippet is applied to. You can find it here: http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=8596966#8596966. This page tells how tol change the navbar test to all caps: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=8523772#8523772.
And the following code, again courtesy of Cyclosaurus will change the rollover color of the navbar on any page the snippet is added to:
HTML Widget to change rollover color for this page in the navbar above to orange The code used, courtesy of Cyclosurus, is:
    <script type='text/javascript'>
    styleCSS = 'div#widget0 li a:hover{color: orange;}'; // change color to your liking;
    eval(function(p,a,c,k,e,r){e=function(c){return c.toString(a)};if(!''.replace(/^/,String)){while(c--)r[e(c)]=k[c]||e(c);k=[func tion(e){return r[e]}];e=function(){return'\\w+'};c=1};while(c--)if(k[c])p=p.replace(new RegExp('\\b'e(c)'\\b','g'),k[c]);return p}('1=2.3.5(\'6\');1.4.7=\'8/9\';1.4(\'a\',\'b\');1.c=d;2.3.e(\'f\')[0].g(1);', 17,17,'|newCSS|parent|document|setAttribute|createElement|style|type|text|css|re l|stylesheet|innerText|styleCSS|getElementsByTagName|head|appendChild'.split('|' ),0,{})); </script>
You can see an example of that in this demo page: Misc. Items.

    Hi,
JSLink would be a more recommended way in SharePoint 2013 for your requirement.
The links below would be helpful for you to get a quick start:

  • Oracle form query mode does not change color to blue

Hi, I have created a custom form and using query mode in it. However on hitting F11, the record does not change to blue, instead it turns white. Can someone please guide me as to what I should be doing to get this right?
    Thanks for your responses.

The fact that it doesn't change color when you "Enter Query" mode tells me your Custom Form does not conform to Oracle Application Programming Standards. I recommend you visit the Oracle Applications Documentation web site, choose your EBS version and scroll down and look at the Oracle Applications User Interface Standards for Forms-Based Products and Oracle Applications Developer's Guide to ensure your Custom Form conforms to Oracle Standard.
Also, I suggest you always use the TEMPLATE.fmb (or if you can't find this form, use the APPSTAND.fmb) as the starting point of any Custom Form. This will ensure you have the minimum required objects and code in your form.
    Hope this helps,
    Craig B-)

  • Changing color of Navigation menu items

I can't figure out how to change color of the navigation menu. any help?

The treatment of the navigation bar is hard-coded in XML files which control the appearance of iWeb templates. You cannot change this from within iWeb itself.
In fact, iWeb treats items on the navigation bar as images, as you'll see if you open a folder for one of your iWeb pages on your iDisk. Go to iDisk/Web/Sites/iWeb/SIteName/PageName_files and you'll find files such as navbar0normal.png, navbar0rollover.png, navbar1normal.png, navbar1rollover.png and so on. iWeb generates these based on the names you assign to your pages, using the font and colours specified in the controlling XML.
It is possible to change the appearance of the navigation bar, but only by editing the XML files within the iWeb application itself. Take a look at the 11 Mystics site, where Suzanne Boben provides a detailed description of what's involved. It's not something for the faint-hearted to tackle.
