Changing colour hue on camera - faces look reddish

is it possible to change the colour hue on the front camera as faces (its sole use) come across as reddish in hue.

I appreciate the answer, but I'm not sure to be honest.
My family always tells me my pictures look lifeless and dull compared to other people's pictures. It's really easy to tell my colours are screwed up when I save an image to my desktop and open it in Windows. Looks really different from what I see in Photoshop (using the exact same picture as an example of course).
edit: Am I not supposed to see change when I'm selecting another color profile in Photoshop when I'm editing a picture at the same time? I can see both the picture and the color profile screen at the same time. Yet, when I change the settings, nothing changes in my picture.

  • Subjects' faces look red from export out of Motion 4

    Hello,
I am using Motion 4 and FCP 7 for a video project. When I export out of M4 into FCP 7, the subjects' face look reddish. I originally exported from FCP 7 into Motion 4 and added text and other graphics. When loading the video exported from Motion 4, I am having problems with the red faces. Any suggestions? Would appreciate your feedback.
    Thanks,
    Mike

This is a part of Final Touch that was lost when it got married to FCP as COLOR. The issue you now have is that COLOR doesn't actually create export lists, it modifies existing XMLs (and cut-lists) that are created at the time of SEND To... from FCP. I'm gathering you did a form of CMX 'import as cut-list' to get the media and event/clips into COLOR. And then there's no apparent way out.
If its a CMX-flow, it was probably a V1-only list, all cuts. If all the material was rendered back to 10-bit Uncompressed, then that media exists somewhere, all neatly tucked into individual folders numbered corresponding to their order in the cut list. In the old days, we would do a FinalGather which would herd all these clips into either a reference Quicktime or a folder where the clips were exposed in such a way that you could grab them all and drop them onto a Final Cut sequence. There are some automator scripts laying around here and there for pulling all the clips into a single directory... it'll take a bit of searching, or you can create your own.
If I'm on the right track with this, creating a new FCP timeline with the rendered media is as simple as selecting them all and dropping them on a new sequence, since they are oriented with names like 1_g1.mov, 2_g1.mov, and so on. Search for those with Finder if you haven't already, and then you'll know what to do. The tough part is that they, each individual clip, are all imbedded in their own folder which makes it a beeotch to wrangle them as a collection.

  • Camera raw images change colour in adobe bridge

I have photoshop CS4 and import my camera raw images into Adobe Bridge.  When I view the thumbnails in bridge my raw images look vibrant and exactly like they appear on the camera but when I go to open them in camera raw edit they change colour and look washed out before I've made any changes.  Can anyone help me figure out how to correct this?

    ssprengel wrote:
My camera is set to shoot sRGB JPGs and is set to all zeros for the brightness/contrast/saturation parameters.
What is your camera set to as far as these basic toning settings, as well as any automatic things like DLighting or highlight compression and perhaps any custom curves or whatever that is called for Nikons?
First paragraph - so is mine.
Second paragraph - all other settings are neutral/zeroed/turned off, as per my post to which you responded. That is, no additional tone curves - Active D-Lighting turned OFF (why anyone would let the camera decide what to do do with highlights and shadows is beyond my level of trust) , Jpg compression is Optimal (least possible) et cetera.
Think I now have an explanation for the different displays in ACR (and Bridge) that I have been experiencing. Took a new duplicate Jpg/Raw shot with the in-camera Picture Control set to Neutral. Now, when both the Jpg and .NEF Raw are viewed in ACR, with the ACR Camera profile set to Camera Neutral, they appear, ASAICT, identical. Saved Camera Neutral as the default ACR Camera profile. Now back in Bridge, the images also appear pretty much identical.
I think what was happening previously was that I had failed to save Camera Standard in ACR as the default Camera profile, and it was defaulting to Adobe Standard, and hence it was rendering Raw thumbnails for Bridge to that Camera profile - hence the difference in appearance between the Jpg and Raw in Bridge. Unless I have got it completely wrong,  I think my problem is now solved.

    Because something is wrong.
You will need to troubleshoot to find out what needs to be fixed.
One of these suggestions may resolve your trouble.
FaceTime (and other video) quality problems can be caused by problems at either end of the connection.  Unless your video callers' FaceTime connections work properly with everyone else but you, both parities to the video call should consider these possibilities.
    (1) Restart your iPad and test again. Sometimes a simple restart fixes things.
    (2) Use a fast broadband internet connection for best possible FaceTime video.
Broadband speed matters at BOTH ends, so you use something like http://speedtest.net/ to test both ends of your video connections.
Speeds less than 300 Kbps (up and down) at both ends are unlikely to give best results.
    (3) Try from a different wi-fi connection.
If the problem is ONLY at your current location, restarting your internet connection may help.  Shut down your iPad or turn Airplane Mode "on".  Then check your cable connections, restart your modem and wireless access point, reconnect iPad to the wi-fi, and test again.
If the problem remains but ONLY at your current location, there may be a problem with your internet service.  Contact your ISP for help.
    (4) Always use as much light as possible for best images (including video) from your iPad.

  • CS3 and lightroom raw converters change colour of  5D files when importing.

The problem is that lightroom and CS3 systematically go through raw 5D..CR2 photos and change colours, even when set to "as shot". I think part of the problem is that i upped the saturation in camera, and the raw converters have been stripping this away to desaturate colours... but in doing this they have taken too much away and left photos very desaturated and looking nothing like colours that were actually there.
I have taken some with all settings on camera default, yet still there is a slight but noticable shift in colour.
anyone shed any light on this, or had similar experience.
    Ali.
P.s. Using vista, but same on windows XP.

    >I think part of the problem is that i upped the saturation in camera, and the raw converters have been stripping this away to desaturate colours
The main problem is that you don't understand what a raw file is...the ONLY raw converter that can read settings set on the camera (other than exposure and ISO) are those that use the camera SDKin your case, DPP. A raw file has no real rendering and the raw converter must give it one. What you are seeing change is the difference between the Canon SDK and the Camera Raw default. And note that the Camera Raw "default" is just that, a default rendering. If you don't like it, you can change it and make the changes based on camera serial number and capture ISO as well.
What you need to do is forget the camera settings (except exposure and ISO) and concentrate on learning how to use Camera Raw to get the renderings you want...

  • Lightroom changes colour in my RAW files captured with NIKON D300

Dear All! Lightroom changes colour in my RAW files captured with NIKON D300. Some of the images are completely ruined. I am sure Adobe must be aware of this problem. What could be done? Is there a solution? Many thanks for your help. Regards, Stanislav

You want "something different" but this "something different" is quite hard to define.
I want a result which reflects the result on the camera. Have the feeling the display
of the D800 is not the greatest, at least (not only the color issue which is often discussed)
but also the exposure. Often I think I would need to compensate it, but then afterwards
on the computer the non corrected version looks most of the time better.
I think its interesting to see how allergic people react when the word jpeg comes up.
This is also just a rendered result, just by the camera. There are many options in my cam.
I like the vivid setting with some modifications. And that gives me a result I like.
And if I like the result, why shall I spend way more time to replicate it?
I do not talk about that I would want the jpeg, I only say that what I get color wise out of the
box is how I would like to look at it. I still want the capability to fix for example exposure  in image,
but I want the base the version I got from the jpeg view (or how the Nikon raw software could do).
On Lightroom I did not manage to have a profile that looked as appealing to me.
It also consumes way more time in my workflow to fix all pictures manually and results might differ.
To work on an image you need a starting point, I do not say the jpeg look is always perfect and
what I want all the time, but most of the time it is.
You say yourself you use profiles. So why should there not be a profile which automatically adjusts to the camera settings.
Its so frustrating to see a look which you like (the preview image when the pic is first accessed) and
then Lightroom switches to its own rendering which is flat and which I do not like.
For me its clearly something Adobe and/or Nikon should fix, like the mentioned "auto correct to preview look",
Nikon profiles/settings/raw-details in Lightroom or for example a Nikon import module.

  • Colour Space in Camera Raw

Hi, Im new to Camera Raw. You can choose the colour space that your file will open up in photoshop as eg. adobergb or srgb. However when you select the colour space does it also ultimately affect what colours you are working with in camera raw? As you can make adjustments to the image like exposure but if it uses srgb that has fewer colours than adobe rgb then you wouldnt be able to see all the colours that your are affecting with the changes you make in Camera Raw. Any help is appreciated. thanks

Welcome to Color Management 101!  Your are essentially correct, although the problem is deeper than you describe.
The best way to look at it is as three sided, i.e. the profiles associated with the image, display, and printer, with the CMS (Color Management System) inside Photoshop as the traffic cop.  The rendering space you choose within ACR will define the color gamut boundary of the image, with sRGB the smallest, Adobe1998 in the middle, and ProPhoto the largest (forgetting the fourth choice Colormatch since it is of no practical value to most of us).  For this reason many of us choose ProPhoto in order to not limit the editing range.
However the display profile will usually limit the colors you can see regardless of the chosen image rendering space, since the gamut of most displays is less than sRGB.  You can still measure the colors with the eyedropper, but those outside of the display gamut will be visually clipped to the closest available inside the gamut.  A good example is the bright yellow of some flowers, even though you can measure color differences across a petal the display will render only one shade.  For this reason if the image is destined only for email/web viewing sRGB is the best colorspace choice, since an image in ProPhoto space will look very flat and unsaturated on non-color managed systems.
There is a lot more to the subject, particularly when you factor in printing, since many printers will render colors outside of the display gamut, sometimes tough to visualize the final print from the display rendering.  Many books exist on the subject, time to start Googling.

  • Exported PDF changes colour depending on software its viewed on

    Hi
I've searched on the forums but can't find a solution to my problem. I export my design to PDF in indesign CS6 and looks fine on my Windows 8.1 laptop, but when the printer company open it up in their software it changes colour. I can replicate it viewing on my iphone for some reason.

@Stephen – you told us where you see the incorrect colors. But you did not tell us where the printing company sees the incorrect color. What is there application? An iPhone has no color management. It is no color proofing device. Not at all!
As Willi already pointed out: Acrobat Pro will qualify, Adobe Reader will qualify.
    "Correct color" is a wide field… ;-)
And on not-callibrated monitors or devices the numbers of individual colors count (always coupled with their output intent, of course).

  • Bottom edge of border of lower third changes colour on render

    Hi,
    Adobe Pr Pro CS3 system
I am not at my machine so please forgive if I haven't got the exact terminology correct, but the essence of my query does not change.
I am doing some "lower thirds" (banners) in the titler for a DVD of a music concert. Basically I'm creating a rectanglar box filled with near-opacity black and adding text on top of this. The black rectanglar box has its left and right edges outside the screen area so are not relevant. However, I have added a coloured edge to the top of bottom of the "banner" (I think this is an outer stroke with size 3.0) The thing is, it looks fine on screen, but when the video is rendered, the lower edge of the box has changed colour. It was originally a yellow/gold (as the top still is) but the bottom is now a pinkier shade.
Any thoughts. I will try to add a screen cap shortly in case it helps.
    Thanks in advance.
    Daniel

The footage with lower third was rendered to a new AVI within Premiere and imported. The colour change then appears on whatever system is used to view it (even the new render on the timeline shows it), on screen, preview monitor, subsequent DVD burned from Encore, etc.
    Thanks

  • Change preview frame in camera raw?

I'm doing some VFX in After Effects using raw footage from a Blackmagic.  When I open Camera raw to grade the footage a bit I can't seem to find a way to change the frame that Camera raw chooses for me to grade.  Is there a way to choose say frame 10 instead of the very first frame?  In my case there is a bridge obstructing my view for the first few seconds of a shot.
I guess I can guess and grade and take a look at the later half of the clip, but is there a way around this?
    Thanks
    Nick

Look at the bottom right of the Image Window
The "Y" splits the screen into before/after panes. The one next to it with the two arrows acts like the old fashioned Preview and uses the "p" keyboard shortcut.

  • Changing Colour Display for Temperature Distribution

    Hi everyone,
I am currently involved in reading a series of temperatures along a length of pipe as part of an experiment.  I thought it would be a nice touch for my VI to have a diagram of the pipe which changes colour to show the temperature distribution along it.
I have attached my initial solution.  I would have posted a VI snippet but this seemed to effect the my references in the property nodes.
    Issues
The code 'works' in the sense that the foreground colour of each tab control will change based on the value of the corresponding temperature.
The solution does not scale well.  I need 'n-1' case structures for 'n' colours/temperatures.  I considered using an enum input to a single case structure, but was not sure how to compare this to the for loop index.
Unsure whether changing a tab control background is the most efficient way to do this.  Not sure of an alternative.
I am looking for suggestions as to how to do this more efficiently as there will be up to 16 temperatures in the final system.
    Many thanks in advance,
    Pete

Tabs are probably the weirdest choice here. Why not use e.g. a simple colorbox or button?
In any case, try to learn about autoindexing, it will dramatically simplify your code (see attached in yellow box).
I probably would use an array of clusters, each containing a colorbox and a numeric with transparent background. Modify as needed. (see attached in green box).
Of course you probably would want to make it a it prettier than my draft.
For a larger ramp, I would use a plain array of flat colorboxes. Now simply index into a color ramp to generate it according to your temperatures.

  • Is there a way to format multiple images at once? Change colour mode or resolution?

Is there a way to format multiple images at once? Change colour mode or resolution?

It's very easy to make an action.
    Go to window > actions
In the actions panel, simply click the 'create a new action' button, it starts recording as soon as you've created it (when you've given it a name).
Now you can apply the changes you want to make to the images on the file you have opened.
After you've done all you need to do. You click the 'stop' button. The action is now ready to use. And you can apply the changes you made on all the other files.
Then you can continue how gener7 explained.
I usually include a save and close command, so that the whole batch doesn't end up opened after running the script.
But if you do that you have to create a new file, and save it to your computer before you start recording the action, otherwise the save command will be replaced by each file. And you'll end up with one edited file in the end. At least for as far as I know!

  • Just put my i-tunes library on a 2nd hard drive, how do I easily change the location where the program looks for current songs from the C:/ drive to the new drive without going thru each song individually in the "get info" tab

I just installed a new hard drive and transfered my i-tunes library to the new drive.  How can I make a bulk change of the location the program looks for the current songs.  I know you can do it song by song from the "get info" tab but I need to do it for all 4500 songs.  I have already changed the location that new files are stored to the new hard drive.

The pop-up lets you connect to the library file, iTunes Library.itl, on the external drive. This will, in turn, automatically update the preference for the iTunes Media folder to be the iTunes Media or iTunes Music folder inside the iTunes folder on the external drive and it will update the locations of all the content inside the media folder so that it uses the version on the external drive.
This works seamlessly if all iTunes content was inside the iTunes Media (or iTunes Music) folder (which was itself inside the iTunes library folder) before you moved/copied the iTunes folder. For content outside the iTunes Media folder iTunes should remain connected to the original location. These files should be consolidated (before or after the move/copy) and in addition, if available the library should be upgraded to the newer layout which places iPod Games and Mobile Applications inside the media folder instead of the library folder. (File > Library > Organize Library...)
For split libraries there are methods to rejoin them before moving (preferred) or repairing after the fact (e.g. my script) which I can go into if needed.
