Changing computers - losing the iCloud???

I have a Dell laptop (work) and an HP mini (home) and am in a bit of a issue.
I had used my Work laptop as my primary laptop and performed the recent update, adding iCloud, connected to my iPhone and iPad. I am not having to turn in this computer (work) and want to make sure that my HP mini (home) computer can now be my primary hub.
However, my mini has Windows XP and not Windows 7. As the mini does not have a CD drive, I am trying to shift from XP to 7 but it is giving me major problems.
My question is, if I deactivate my work computer and lose the iCloud connection that I had there without having the iCloud connected to my mini/home laptop what will be the repercussions? I am in for some serious data/app/music/movie file loss???

I can't say for sure but for me, I just updated iTunes yesterday with the new version (I don't use the PC version much) and it is syncing with iCloud just fine and I am using an XP HP Laptop. The one thing is...some of my music disappeared from iTunes. I think this update completely wipes your libary. My songs I just bought are their but some have gone...

Having deleted some Mail messages by mistake, I have had to recover them from TM. I can tell you that the recovery of mail messages will be done at the mailbox level. In my case it was half of the messages in a mailbox. So I recovered the complete mailbox from TM. Then I copied the messages from the recovered mailbox back into the mailbox I use in Mail. I hope that helps.
Please be aware that TM is a backup application and not an archival application. What that means is that if your TM drive gets full, it will get rid of older files which could be mail messages to make space for newer backups. You might want to consider archiving your mail instead of using TM if you need to maintain your mail messages for extended periods of time.

I had to change my iCloud/iTunes user name and when I go into my iPhone to change it on the iCloud, it only allows me to change the password. How can I change the username?

Do I just need to delete the account and start over? Will I lose info?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
When you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.

My old Apple ID won't allow me to use the old password to log out of the cloud. I can't use the new one, either. The new Apple ID is in the iTunes and App store. But I can't change it on the cloud without logging out. Which I can't do.

First, try the new password. If you didn't sign out of iCloud prior to changing the primary email address of your Apple ID, this is what can cause this problem.

Apple needs to put a security key on the icloud.

I think that apple should have a securitypassword when changing options on the icloud. Because if i were to steal and iphone all i have to do is go to the settings, go to icloud, and a simple swipe of the find my iphone and there is nothing they can do about it. I am posting this because i was worrying about my phone being stolen and i thought "oh well" i have the find my iphone turned on, and then it hit me, "how hard is it to turn that off" and answer is, no difficulty at all and i think apple should do something to fix that.

If you set up a passcode on the phone and/or a restrictions passcode, it can't be turned off. Of course, they can easily wipe the phone and set it up as new. Nothing you can do about that.

How to get a new iMac pages document into the iCloud

I have an 27 inch imac , an ipad 2 , and an itouch . I purchased pages for the ipad2 and upgraded to lion on my imac. I can make a pages document on my ipad2 and it goes to the icloud and I can see it on my itouch. Then I can make changes on the itouch and go to the ipad2 and see the changes. So the icloud is working. When I make a pages document on the imac I can not find a way to send it to the icloud so I can see it on my ipad2. Can someone help me.

The iCloud email account is tied to the iCloud account. If you want a different (new) email account you'll have to create a new iCloud account for your phone. You can, however, create an email alias to use associated with your current account (see http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2622). It will have a different email address, but will receive email to the same inbox as the current address so this may not meet your needs.

It's a little tricky to move data from one iCloud account to another but it can be done. But what makes you think you have 2 iCloud accounts.

Your purchases are permanently tied to the Apple ID (account) used to purchase them. They can't be moved to another account and you can merge accounts. You can start making new purchases with your iCloud ID if you want, but you will end up with two sets of purchases under two different IDs, adding further complication to your life.
Also, your @icloud email address is an alias of your existing @me address; emails sent to either address will be routed to the same inbox. You can decide which one you want to use as your default (as discussed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5441) but you can't separate them.

I am changing jobs and the best computer I had before was the one at work, so I synched there. I found pictures I just took already on the computer, so it is actively synching.
