Changing data in PSA

Hi all,
I want to change the data in PSA manually, so I went in PSA and in Maintenance of PSA Data request, I selected the record and the menu option List->Change is disabled for me to make a change.  Is it that I don't have correct authorization to do it.
please let me know
Sabrina.

Hi Sabrina,
I do not think there is any authorization object for PSa controlling .
May be you have loaded the data into the target from PSA one data is loaded from PSA to target Change option is disable.
Hope this will help you.

  • Issue with changing data in PSA

Hi...I had a request in PSA which has one incorrect record.I had created a chain..and was loading data to target..so infopackage(full load) successfully loaded data to the PSA then DTP failed due to incorrect record.
I changed the record and loaded the DTP successfully.
Now to test the chain again...I re ran it...and It failed  again at the DTP .I delete  the request from Target and I once again tried to correct the record in PSA but after changing the record the system is prompting me that the REq---xyz doesn't exist so the change can't be saved. But the this is(Req-xyz) not the request in which I am changing the data.
I am pretty confused...why the system not allowing me to change the data of a full load request ..which is there in PSA..and prompting for some other request..??
Any help is really welcome and will be duly rewarded

    Hello,
Becz of some inconsistance in BI 7.0 I guess.
But the process is always activate error stack & load data into target & then correct from error stack.
This will work even process chain.
    Thanks ,

  • Why data in PSA doesn't  change when update rule routine is modified?

    Hello guys,
why data in PSA is not changed after I modifiied the update rule routine. I created a infopackage which is only to PSA, but it shows me any change. If I changed this infopackage to the one which is assigned to "PSA firstly, and then to Infoobject", then I saw the changes in infoobject, but in PSA, still nothing changed.
I can't figure out the reason. Any hint is welcome!
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Liying

    HI..
    1) PSA data is like of source system data
2)Update rules are how you update your keyfigures to Data Tragets.
Since you have put upto PSA that is the first data staging in BW so there wont be any change of the data even if you write routines at update rules.
    Hope it is clear

  • Problem in uploading data from psa to active data and change log dso.

    hi experts
my data from psa is coming to new data dso but not to active data and change log dso. can you please help me out...

    Uday,
Please select the request from Manage screen of DSO and click on Activate, pop-up comes again select the request and click on Start. ( If it is Standard DSO ).
In case of Write optimized DSO you need not to activate it.

  • Not able to EDIT the data in PSA

    Hi Experts,
I had created cube and it has following seeting
    1) Three  dimensions i.e. Employee_No, Employee_name and Time
    2) Key figures i.e. Salary and Tax
    Procedure What I have followed
    =======================
    1. Created one CSV file and it contains ten records
    2. I created one file interface source system
    3. I had created one infosource
    4. In the change button of infosource I have included four objects i.e.
        Employee_No,Employee_name, Salary and Tax
    5. I assigned data source to the above infososurce
    6. By creating data package with the selection of PSA and Infoobject parallel in
the processing button I loaded 10 records into the cube
    7. Next time I tried to use same infopackage with the selection of Only PSA in
        processing button
    8. Than I tried to Edit the data, but pop's with warning message "An internal error
        occured in maintenance module"
I hope some one reply to this issue.

    hi,
i think it is becqause u HAVE CHANGED TO only psa option .
also u can create another infopackage and load the data
or else u can edit the data in source system instead in ps.
    regards
    pls assign popints if helpful.

  • RSA3 data and PSA data not matching

    Hello All,
I am in BI7.0 and trying to Load FI_GL data usng 0FI_GL_4 DS from ECC6. I was able to install, activate all necessary standard objects that are involved. I have executed data Load from Infopackage by doing Init. with data Transfer..which went okay and now i am data upto PSA Level with everything green status. But when I noticed that in PSA Maintenance screen its showing whole lot more data..it shows 103 Datapackages transferred and lot of data records in each packages.
In R3 side (RSA3) shows only 831 records.  IN BI7 , monitor screen shows more then 9 million records recieved.
Could anyone tell me why this happened? Is it possible that this particular PSA already had data on it? if so How can i find and delete previous records from this PSA? please suggest...
    thanks
    dk

    Hello,
1)The error comes if the data is wrong in the DSO.
Something like before and after image are missing for a record and thats why change log is having some issues.
you can check the data between new tables and PSA and see if its matching or not.
Try to delete all the data from the PSA and the DSO.do proper mappings again especially in the keys of the DSO and then reload it.
try to load it for a small a amount like one company code and one fiscal period.check in PSA if its matching or not from RSA3.
2)If the data is getting loaded then there should not be a any problem with the data source.DTP could be an issue.the program is to activate the data source in BI 7 system and if the data source is already activated then you dont need this again.
3)Rule proposal can be generated if the fields are same and have same technical name.in your case the field name are different since its datasource and DSO mappings and therefore you will have to do mappings manually.
    4)you mean RSA3??
RSA3 displays the data from tables only in case of full mode. Also, try to do full loads till the PSA and then check for the same in RSA3 in full mode.keep the package size and number of calls maximum so that it will show you correct number of records extracted.
RSA3 is an extractor checker and can be used for verify small amount of data, dont use it for verifying the datasource for all the drecords.
use underlying tables if you want.
if init is done properly then the data will be correct and you should verify it with the tables and not RSA3.

  • Long time to load data from PSA to DSO -Sequential read RSBKDATA_V

    Hi ,
It is taking long time to load data from PSA to DSO. It is doing Sequential read on RSBKDATA_V and table contents no data .
we are at - SAPKW70105. It started since yesterday . There is no changes in system parameters.
    Please advice.
    Thanks

    Hi Nilesh,
I guess the following SAP Note will help you in this situation.
[1476842 - Performance: read RSBKDATA only when needed|https://websmp107.sap-ag.de/sap/support/notes/1476842]
Just note that the reference to Support Packages is wrong. It is also included in SAP_BW 701 06.

  • Error while loading data from PSA to DSO

    Hi,
How to identify the erroneous records in DSO?
While loading the data from PSA to DSO through Process chains we are facing the error says:
"Value '#' (hex. '0023') of characteristic 0BBP_DELREF contains invalid characters"
"Error when assigning SID: Action VAL_SID_CONVERT InfoObject 0BBP_DELREF"
There is no error records in PSA but it seems some invalid characters exists.
Could you please help us how to find the error records in DSO and how to correct it.

    Hi,
    These are errors BRAIN290 & RSDRO302.
The problem here most likely is that BW doesn't recognise a character you are trying to load. Generally the character is not "#",
as BW displays all symbols it does not recognise as #. You should decode from the hex string what the actual value is. Note that hex values < 20 are not allowed in BW.
Please review Note 173241 and the document mentioned within.
This shows what characters are not allowed in BW characteristic values.
You should check if the character is allowed, and then you can solve the problem in one of the following ways:
    1) add this character to the "permitted character" list in RSKC as described in the note.
    2) correct the value in the source system.
    3) correct the value in the PSA (to do this, you will need to delete the request from the ODS object and then you can change the disallowed character via the PSA maintenance).
    4) follow Note 1075403 so that the characters HEX00 to HEX1F are not checked (this affects only characteristics that do not allow "lower case").
    5) if you cannot use any of the above options, then you will need to create a routine in your transfer rules for the affected infoobject, and change the value to a character which is permitted in BW.
These are the usual ways to solve this issue.

    Colum

  • How to update data from PSA to target in BI 7.0

    Hi all,
can you pls tell me the procedure/process to load data from PSA to data target. We got a load failure while activating the data in DSO.We made necessary changes to the incorrect data in PSA and we saved. When i run the DTP again it gives me 0 records. Is there any option like in 3.5 where we can select the PSA right click.....schedule the update/start the update immediate. or any other process which solves my problem.
    Thank you all,
    Regards,
    Praveen

A new object concept is available for the ETL process as sap Net Weaver 2004. To implement the EDW layer paradigm, sap has changed the concept of the ETL data flow and process design.
The most important innovations in the modified object concept are as followes.
    1. When a Datasource is activated, a PSA table is generated in the inbound laywr of the BI so that data
       can already be loaded.
2 The infopackage is only used to load the data from the source system into PSA.
3 This is followed by the data transfer proccess (DTP) step to transfer data within the BI from one
persistent object to another by using transformation and filters,
4 The definition for which data targets the data from the Datasource is to be updated into occurs in
transformations.  this is also where fields of Datasource are assigned to infoObjects of the target
       objects in bi.

  • Updating data from PSA to Data Target

    Hi,
I just want to update data from PSA to data target.
There is a process chain running daily it will updating Master Data in to 0Vendor object. This process chain is updating only upto PSA not the data target. I just want to update from PSA to data target.
There is a update rule for 0Vendor but itu2019s not active at the movement and also it is not properly mapped with the 0Vendor.
Is there any other method which I can update data from PSA to Data target with in the same process chain.
    Thanks
    Ganesh

If this is BW 3.5, change the infopackage setting to load to data target as well.
This is a other w ay than using the update from infopackage.
if this is 7.0, Use the DTP to load from PSA(datasource) to Target.
Let me know if this helps.
    Thanks
    Sachin

  • Data Load PSA to IO (DTP) Dump: EXPORT_TOO_MUCH_DATA

    Hi Gurus,
Iu2019m loading Data from PSA to IO: 0BPARTNER. I habe around 5 Mil entries.
During the load the control Job dumps with the following dump:
    EXPORT_TOO_MUCH_DATA
    1. Data must be distributed into portions of 2GB
    2. 3 possible solutions:
        - Either increase the sequence counter (field SRTF2) to include INT4
        or
        -export less data
        or
-distribute the data across several IDs
If the error occures in a non-modified SAP program, you may be able to
find an interim solution in an SAP Note.
If you have access to SAP Notes, carry out a search with the following
    keywords:
    "EXPORT_TOO_MUCH_DATA" " "
    "CL_RSBK_DATA_SEGMENT==========CP" or "CL_RSBK_DATA_SEGMENT==========CM00V"
    "GET_DATA_FOR_EXPORT"
This is not the first time I do such large load.
The Field: SRTF2 is already an INT4 type.
    Version BI: 701. SP06
I found a lot of OSS Notes for monitoring jobs, Industry solutions, by BI change runu2026 nothing however to data loading process.
Has anyone encountered this problem please?
    Thanks in advance
    Martin

    Hi Martin,
There were series of notes which may be applicable here.
However if you have semantic grouping enabled it may be that this is a data driven issue.
The System will try to put all records into one package in accordance with teh semantic key.
If it is too generic many records could be input to one data package.
Please choose another (more) fields for semantic grouping - or unselect all fields if the grouping is not nessessary at all.

    Hope this helps.

  • Changing data in InfoCube or DSO??

    Hello Gurus,
is it possible to change the Data contents either in an InfoCube or in a DSO. I am loading data from R/3 first into the DSO and then into the InfoCube. The data seems to be redundant in the source system and i would like to change certain records for testing my query. Pls help.
    POINTS WILL BE AWARDED!!
    Regards,
    SD

    Hi,
If you have taken the data through the PSA to the ODS, and the request exists in the PSA, then delete the request in the ODS, change the date in PSA and then load the same request back to the ODS using reconstruction.
You can also delete data in the cube and do a full update into the cube form the ODS with the changed data.
    Couple of other options:
    1.  You can create a self reference on the ODS and in the routine hard code some values or pick them up from another ODS.
    2.  You can load a flat file into ODS with the values you want.
    3.  This is extreme.  An ODS is a table, you can get table write authorisation and directly write into the ODS table, using SE11.  This then takes you away from the wonderful world of data loading etc...and will mean that to make subsequent productive use of the ODS you will need to delete all data.
    cheers....

  • DATA : How to change data in infocube.

    Dear Expert,
I have a problem.  I have key figure in a info cube which is already filled with some data. I have requirement of changing the key figure value with some other value.
    Pls help.
    Regards,
    Chetana Kotian

    Hello
It is not possible to change the data in the cube.
If you need to change then make the request status to RED, Delete the request from the cube, Before that confirm whether the request in PSA is not deleted.
Edit the data in PSA and the the data again from PSA.

  • How to load data from PSA in BI 7.0

    Hi,
    Gurus
I'm trying to load data from PSA to my InfoObject masterdata but I can't get the change mode, so I change the processing to data Target.Right now its on PSA only
    I will reward poaints
    Regards
    Alex

    Hi,
I am just a beginner in 7.0, i had the same issue I loaded the master data in PSA but couldn't load in Data target i.e. info object (correct me if my understanding of your problem is wrong).
    Try these steps:
    1) Create and activate Transformation.
    2) Create and activate DTP first then in DTP itself in <b>Execute tab</b> click "execute" ,go to infoobject right click on the info object you have created and select "maintain info object" , the datas will be loaded into info object
    *Please assign points if useful.

  • Change Log/Delete PSA

Hi Gurus, I am on 3.5. When I go to RSA1, then to PSA. Select a a request, right click and select "Delete PSA Data". Why does it say "PSA / Change Log". Does it mean, I am deleting Change Log data too?

    Bigtoja,
That may happen in case of ODS. For ODS change log data and PSA (for subsequent target from this ODS) are stored in the same table (change-log of the ODS table) . Those data are identified in the same table as "ODSR" for change log entries and "REQU" for PSA entries.
    Hope this helps!
