Changing datasource from 3.5 to 7 Version

Hi Bw Experts,
I am trying to Change 2LIS_02_SCN datasource from 3.5 version to 7 Version using the Tcode RSDS. After executing that i am getting the Popup screen asking for <b>"Transfer rules and transfer structures are deleted as a result of Migration of 3.x Datasource 2LIS_02_SCN.How is Migration to be performed ?"</b>. Under that there are four button asking <b>W/O Export,With Export Options</b>. I dont know which option i need to select.
Can u please help on this.

Please refer to the following link, which will help you in understanding the migration of data sources.

If you perform migration using "With Export" option, you will be able to restore the 3.x functionality previous to the migration.

We do have a few hundred Crystal Reports files that are build with a ODBC datasource connection.
Now we like to replace at runtime (in C#) this Datasource with a XMLfile, containing the same information as the result of the query of the ODBC database.

Yes but... and Ludek and I have this argument often, using ADO Record sets is VERY limited to the amount of data you can use, typically less than 2000 rows. So using, as I suggested the ADO.NET ( XML ) driver is better than using the legacy crdb_xml.dll XML driver as Ludek is referring to.
If you do plan or if if you don't plan on using large amounts of data you are actually better to convert to OLE DB or stay with ODBC for performance. The DB servers are always and will always be much more efficient at processing data than CR or any PC type flat file to handle large amounts of data.
I seen often where Developers use DS's and even XML as there data source and they work great in QA but when given to the public they tend to use them as database backup tools... And of course this will never work, those drivers and Crystal simply can't handle that much data.

Transporting active version of datasource from DEV to PRD

Hi,
When I transport a 3.x datasource from DEV to PRD, the version I am getting in PRD is 'modified'. In DEV we have both modified and active versions and there's no difference between them. When I try to activate the modified version, it says that I have to maintain the transfer rules associated with the datasource. Then it takes me to the transfer rules display but I am not sure what to do next...how to activate the datasource. How do I get the active version from DEV to PRD?

i need to change the datasource from development environment to production server. i had configured the JNDI informations like the following in the 'context.xml':

I'm having a similar problem ... just used my iPad 2 to purchase the Bourne trilogy and it downloaded fine but I did not try to play it right away. Then I plugged the iPad into the computer and it downloaded the SD versions of the movie and I used iTunes to sync my movies. Then I tried to play it and it said it could not open the movie. I then did a full iPad restore and did a fresh sync and now I get the Cannot Opne pop up. Did you ever find an answer to your question?

Hi,
When you migrate a 3.x DataSource (R3TR ISFS) in an original system, the system generates a DataSource (R3TR RSDS) with a transport connection. The 3.x DataSource is deleted, along with the 3.x metadata object mapping (R3TR ISMP) and transfer structure (R3TR ISTS), which are dependent on it. If a PSA and InfoPackages (R3TR ISIP) already exist for the 3.x DataSource, they are transferred to the migrated DataSource, along with the requests that have already been loaded. After migration, only the specifications about how data is loaded into the PSA are used in the InfoPackage.
You can export the 3.x objects, 3.x DataSource, mapping and transfer structure during the migration so that these objects can be restored. The collected and serialized objects are stored in a local table (RSDSEXPORT).
You can now transport the migration into the target system.
When you import the transport into the target system in the after-import, the system migrates the 3.x DataSource (R3TR ISFS) (as long as it is available in the target system) to a local DataSource (R3TR RSDS), without exporting the objects that are to be deleted. The 3.x DataSource, mapping (R3TR ISMP) and transfer structure (R3TR ISTS) objects are deleted and the related InfoPackages are migrated. The data in the DataSource (R3TR RSDS) is transferred to the PSA.

Changing Datasource modified version to active version

Datasource 2LIS_02_ITM is in modified verison in BW production,After transporting the datasource in R/3 side and replicating in production ,the datasource is showing still in modified version.Any idea to solve this problem.

Hi,
First make sure your datasource is active in R/3 production. You can check this in transaction - LBWE and in RSA3 extraction. If the datasource is inactive, RSA3 extraction gives 0 records.
If everything is in place in R/3, try to replicate in BI using transaction - RSDS.
You can also try activating your datasource using the below programms
RSDS_DATASOURCE_ACTIVATE_ALL
RS_COMSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL
RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL

Having trouble to delete datasource from JDeveloper IDE

I am having trouble to delete datasource from JDeveloper IDE, neither can I change it.
1. I deleted the datasource entry.
2. Then I delete the entry in SIQA-data-sources.xml file in project root directory. SIQA is my workspace.
3. There is no entry in C:\JDev10g\jdev\system10.1.2.0.0.1811\oc4j-config\data-sources.xml where is embedded oc4j server
after close JDeveloper embeded OC4J Server configuration dialog box and reopen it. It will come back.
I have no way to delete it or change database url.
The version I have is 10.1.2.
I hope to hear response asap.

one of our test systems (IDES) with doule stack including NW Portal is connected to the client 001.
As we have a lot of users in the client 800 we want to change the configuration of the UME to client 800.
We used this SAP Help Link:

My first thougts were to check the RFC/JCo connections - so I changed the configuration to the old one via ConfigTool - UME.Services - restarted the J2EE engine.
Log to SM59 and Configtool. I regenerated the JCo Connection for sapfallback (was not available) and to the portal itself - Tested the connections in SM59 TCP/IP - successfully tested.
So i tried the changes again (client 800)- with the same errors as above?
Any idea what causes this misbehaviour? Or is the SAP help link only for initial setting of UME? Are there additional steps when changing from one ABAP Host (or client) to another?

Update:
- the host file contains localhost and service file contains sapgw00 with 3300/tcp?
- the java stack runs unter https, http is only available for localhost, may this be the problem?
- Which JCo connection causes this error - actually there are three JCo Connections maintained in VA - .. - JCo RFC Provider - NONE of them connects to localhost??

Why can I not find the primary video setting in Bios so I can change it from integrated to PCIE?

I have purchased a new video card to add to my computer which has integrated graphics. When I installed the card I got a blank screen so I removed the card and restarted the computer and entered BIOS in an attempt to change it from integrated to PCIE the problem is I cannot find the option to make the change. I can select advanced chipset but there is no primary video option to select and as far as I can tell there is no option to switch it from integrated to PCIE.... I researched this heavily and am now resorting to this as I cannot find a way to get the video card to work. I have posted the options I have in my system's Bios below. Adding a Contact Form, is it possible to change the FROM address in the header to the submitter's email address?

As it stands now the FROM address used is the site default (mine); using REPLY in the resulting email from the form should have the submitters email address not mine. I was able to switch this in the code (form-u1768.php) of an earlier version of MUSE. The PHP has changed in the current version (2014) and I'm not seeing how to pull off the same manual tweak. Any Ideas? Thanks!

Error Transporting PI (XI) Web Service Datasource from BI BW 7.0

Hi all,
I have a PI (XI) datasource in development.
While transporting this datasource from Dev ==> QA, the transport keeps failing.
If the datasource is active (BI 7.0), it should be transported to QA without any dependency with other objects?
PI (XI) source system has been setup in QA.
Any ideas? Following is the error I get.
Error generating Web service /BIC/CQZHRCM_T00005000
Error when activating Datasource ZHRCM_TD_MELLONPENSION_INTF Q06CLNT100
The DataSource ZHRCM_TD_MELLONPENSION_INTF(Q06CLNT100) does not exist in object version A

How to create a generic datasource from function module?

Dear experts,
I have created a generic datasource from function module. For this extrator, I created a function module and a structure.
I have now some difficulties to continue:
In this function module, i get data from different transparent tables. Then i put these data into an internal table.
I just don't know what is the relatioin between the structure i defined and this internal table.
I should make "iTab structure AA" in the source code?

Generic Extraction via Function Module

1. Create s structure with the fields that you need from the 4 tables . Activate.
2. Goto SE 80 Select The Function Group , Copy , Select the Function module
" RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA_SIMPLE " and Give a New name starting With
Y or Z .
3. SE37 ->Your Function module name -> Change , In table tab give your structure
name by deleting the associated type given in " XXXX " .
4. Now select source code and Do the coding . Give Data source name in Coding .
In your case you have to take data from more that 1 table .
5. Activate the Function Group .
6. In RSO2 Create the Data source , Give the Function Module Name , And Save.
7. RSA3 -> Give data source name and Check for the Records .
Creation of custom datasource. (Using function module)
.Create a function group .
. Structure ZTXXXX
Create function module (i.e. ZTESTXXX) .
. Create the data source using transaction (RSO2).
. If structure exists for the table parameter of your function module then ok else create a structure for the table parameter .
Test the datasource in R/3 using transaction RSA3.
Transfer the data source to BW System and replicate it in the BW-System.
