Changing default calendar schema

hi
i know that it is possible to change date system to persian by using this alter command:
alter session set NLS_CALENDAR=PERSIAN
Is it possible to set default oracle calendar to Persian? i cant change the application but i have DBA permissions.

Edited by: a.toraby on Mar 8, 2009 12:02 PMThe answer of the question that is that a parameter file is yes.But oracle doesn't read the init file from this location in the startup. It reads from the Database folder which is at oracle home, for example, on my linux box, /u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0.1/db_1/dbs. The file placed over here would be read by oracle as the startup file. So you need to change the parameter over there.
From 9i onwards, there is one more type of file that you would find under that folder, SPFILE. This file is going to get the preference if its avaialble besides pfile/init file and this is not modifiable. So you need to tell us that if you have this file over there or not? If yes(most likely) than you need to make a pfile from this file and than edit that pfile with your parameter. Make a pfile from spfile using
create pfile from spfileThan edit it and remove the spfile(origianl) form the folder. After that start your db and check that parameter is working or not.

Wrt300n- wireless doesn't work after changing default IP scheme

When I change the 192.168.1.0 default network scheme my wireless connection doesn't work to the internet I can get to the router's configuration ( I need to change for VPN reasons) The LAN connections work fine. Any ideas or settings that I can look at.

Reset your router by holding down the reset button on the back for 30 sec. This should get you on the net but you will need to configure your router wireless settings to secure it. Good Luck!

No Option to Change Default Calendar

I've been struggling with this and can't find an answer anywhere. On both my iPhone (3GS running iOS 5) and my iPad (first gen running iOS 5), there is no option for me to change the default calendar in Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendar. The only options under the Calendars heading on both devices are New Invitation Alerts, Sync, Time Zone Support, and Default Alert Times. How can I get the Default Calendar option to appear?

For what it's worth, I figured it out.
In addition to my iCloud calendars, I subscribed to CalDAV calendars from my office (from Snow Leopard Server). For some reason, you can't set or change a default calendar unless you turn off the CalDAV calendars. At that point, the option to set a default calendar magically appears. I set the default I wanted, then turned the CalDAV calendars back on, at which time the option disappeared again, but fortunately left my selected calendar as the default.

Changing default Calendar alarms in Mavericks' Calendar?

Is there any way that I can change the default Calendar alarm to email?
I don't use the "pop-up" on screen alarm, which appears to be the default, because that relies on me being in front of the iMac at the time whereas I can read email alarms on any computer (even at Client's premises) wherever I am, and having to remeber to change every single appointment to "email to" is a positive nuisance.
I seem to recall this was possible a couple of generations ago in iCal on Snow Leopard but the option was inexplicably removed in a no doubt "improving" update!
Surely Apple should provide the option to change the default alarm to personal preference?
Or am I being stupid and overlooking something obvious?

As a long-time Apple user, Apple evangelist and stockholder (I bought the stock when it was $41/share), I'm really annoyed with the numerous issues in the latest version of OSX. In all the years I've used Macs, this is the first time I really feel like their new version is simply not ready for primetime.
And it's not just the inablility to customize alerts in Calendar. The iWork app suite (Numbers, Pages, etc.), also has major issues, e.g., no more initial caps when typing.
Many of these changes are reportedly due to Apple's desire to increase cross-device and iCloud capability between the Mac and various IOS devices. Apple is also touting the fact that the iWork suite is now free and supposedly simpler.
Don't get me wrong. OSX 10.9 Mavericks is extremely stable. And there are many new features which certainly improve my overall computing experience. But a major unintended consequence of these "upgrades" and "improvements" is the sacrifice of basic functionality.

Changing default color scheme when exporting ALV report to Excel spreadshee

We have a bunch of FI reports created using OOPS in abap. Each of the reports has the functionality to be exported to an excel spreadsheet. When exporting to Excel, the headers are a very dark brown color, making them difficult to read and it has been requested that they are shaded a lighter color. I have not defined any sort of color scheme within the report itself, and I was wondering if there was a way to change the color scheme when exporting the report to excel. Change default calendar in iCal?

I have two google calendars which sync properly with iCal. However, the wrong calendar is on top (listed alphabetically). When I enter a new event from iCal, the default is to go to the wrong calendar. How can I switch them, or convince iCal to only add events to the second one?

In the left sidebar of iCal ensure the calendar you wan to add events to is selected. Unfortunately, you can't rearrange the Google calendars in iCal.

Change default Calendar sharing level

Hi.
I'm trying to find a way of how to change the default sharing level of new users calenders. I have looked at the sharing policies but it seems to me that those are only for sharing outside the organization, at least I can't find a way of how to get these
working inside the organization.
Can anyone tell me if there is a way for me to set the default sharing level of all newly created users calenders automatically?

By default, when we create a new user inside organization, Exchange will apply the default sharing policy to this new user automatically. We can check the default sharing policy by the following steps.
Logon EAC, navigate to organization > sharing.
Under Individual Sharing, select the default sharing a policy, and then click
Edit.
In sharing policy, check the box of Make this policy my default sharing policy.
You can use the same way to edit the default sharing policy.

Ics 5.1 : change default calendar at login

without setting the attribute ceDefaultView in the LDAP user record, how can i change the defaultview show at login from the "overview" to "weekview" ?
(so users who havent set it in their prefs still get this weekview instead of the overview)

In the web interface, under Options/Settings, you can change the initial view. But it ends up setting the LDAP attribute icsExtendedUserPrefs=ceDefaultView=monthview. In an LDAP-based system you would expert this sort of thing to end up in LDAP. Why are you looking for a way to do this that doesn't involve LDAP?

'Default Calendar' still broken?

It looks like the ever-changing Default Calendar setting is still broken with iPhone OS 3.0.
Can anyone else confirm this?

Are you syncing calendars between Entourage and iCal?
If you are using Entourage make sure it is updated to the latest version available.
Also, make sure you Mac has the latest software updates available; just click the Apple icon in the top menu bar and then click Software Update.
How are the calendars synced to the iPhone? Are they pushed from MobileMe or synced from iCal?
If the calendars are being pushed from MobileMe, try Resetting the Sync Data as shown here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1497

Service Packages are changing users default calendars

I'm currently testing Communications Suite 5 cal server 6.2 schema 2. I have everything up and running but I'm running into an issue with with assigning service packages to users though.
I created all the users from the command line and I used -k legacy option for the calendar. At this point everything is working fine the user calendars I imported from Cal server 6.0 schema 1 all show up and work like they should. Once I assign a service package to a user account it changes their default calendar to the hosted format. Now my users have two calendars their default (hosted format) which is blank and their imported (legacy format) that has all the calendar entries.
I've changed /opt/SUNWcomm/data/WEB-INF/classes/sun/comm/cli/server/servlet/ resource.properties from switch-caltype=hosted to switch-caltype=legacy and restarted the web container but no luck.

The reps at that time deflected the easiest course of action, by trying to get you to replace the phone under insurance instead of returning the phone. The Early Edge payment option requires the current phone on the line using the early Edge must be returned to Verizon Wireless. Did you once considered going to a third party site like Swappa to purchase a gently used device for your daughter?

Why does my default calendar keep changing?

Periodically with no apparent end user intervention my default calendar selection changes. One is an Exchange based calendar and one Gmail.

When we tried the CLAF UI, there is no option to extend the oracle-desktop.xss.
It gives only the base-desktop (which is different from the default Oracle Ebusiness laf).
Have anyone done this ?

the default LAF is Browser one and the OA personalization guide tells what we can't extend it.
It reads so stupid what i was not able to believe it.. But seems true.
When you need to make a simple modification and keeping the look and feel, you can't.
I changed only one icon but you can't give blaf (even if you modify the extends property in the look and feel metadata.xml
Had you try to copy all blafs styles in your BLAF ? (that could be a workaround even if is it not upgradable ?)
Or, open SR ?

When I set up my iCloud calendar system, I did not know what "default" calendar to set and it set it to "Yahoo"
automatically. I would like to change that. Does anybdy know how?

Thank you. What I found in settings was that I could go to Yahoo (not iCloud) and "uncheck" the "calendar" option for that account. This allowed me to default to the calendar I wished to use, instead.

In iTunes with your iPhone connected, double click on your iPhone under Devices and change it to whatever you want.
