Changing Default System announcements in Unity Connection 9.1.2

Dear Experts,
I'm setting up Auto Attendant and we have two language options, with different sub-menu's.
We have the recordings in male voice. And when I route the an Input Option (lets say '2') to alternate contact number (lets say extn 500), we hear the default announcement "Wait while I transfer your call", which is in female voice.
Please advise how can we replace this announcement with a custom announcement. Similarly for error and invalid entries.
Also, I need to play these announcements in different language depending on the language selection. how can we achieve this.
Your help will be much appreciated. thanks.

You cannot replace any system recording with your own, if you want them in other language, you need to install the locale.

    If publishing is activated you can use the page /_layouts/15/ChangeSiteMasterPage.aspx
    You can also use the Design Manager. Choose a theme and then you'll be asked for fonts, colors and...master page.

    Hi,
    it is fine if you Do it  as Online Editing. Just make sure the Server where you are modifying is a central instance. If in case if it didnt reflect or if you dont find sufficient options to modify, You can just right and save the file in Your system as ...htm or ...html(based on what was the File type). Modify it and upload again with option view-> folder-> upload. if you are doing this way manually, Make sure the Overwrite happens, coz some times the file extension may not match.
    Secondly, if you want to add some refrerence to some files in this html being modified, Make sure the path of File refrence starts with  /irj/go/km/docs/documents/.....

    I have a Linksys WirelessN Router--If I use the router with all of the default settings I can achieve cable speeds of 300mbps. Fantasically fast!!! As soon as I change the name of the router from "Linksys" to any other name, my speed drops back down to 54mbps. I also changed the security settings to "PSK Personal" and added a personal password so my system wouldn't get "hyjacked." Any thoughts?

    Hi… logon to router’s setup page, try changing Radio band to wide 40MHz, wide channel to 9, standard channel to 11, go to advanced wireless settings reduce beacon interval to 50, fragmentation and RTS threshold to 2304, change N Transmission rate to 270MBps…wireless security should be PSK personal, also try upgrading latest firmware on router, check whether it makes any difference or not.

    No, that message (system prompt) is not customizable - you can turn it on or off with a configuraiton option on a per handler/user basis but you cannot customize the prompt itself.

    Cisco Unified Communications Manager 8.6.2
    Cisco Unity Connection 8.6.2
    Problem:
    when any outside caller leaves a voicemail, the caller number information is not being sent to unity.
    example, I call with my cell phone, 817.555.1234 to my Cisco 7940 phone and it shows the CLID information that i am calling with. iDivert to voice mail, Leave a message. Playback message and just the default message information from Cisco Unity.
    we currently upgraded from CUCM 6.1.3 and Unity 5. before i could press 9 and get the caller information.
    I have viewed the "Playback Message Settings" and selected "After Playing Each Message, Play" and selected Sender's Information. and also selected "Include Extension and Sender's ANI"
    upon playing the VoiceMail after the message i get the default message "From Cisco Unity Connection Messaging System"
    I also have the message relaying to my E-mail and I get the same in the subject line.
    "Message from Cisco Unity Connection Messaging System (Unknown extension)"
    This tends to be a big deal with the Sales team as customers will call and say "Call me back"
    But any Internal Calls show the correct information, proper greeting, extension information even on the relay to e-mail.

    Found another post that referenced Cisco Bug ID CSCti37610.
    CUC plays message is from Unity Connection Messaging system
    Symptom:Before message playback, Unity Connection plays the message is from Unity Connection Messaging System instead sender's ANI
    Conditions:Problem was observed on Unity Connection cluster and appropriate services are not rebooted after changing the SMTP domain name
    Workaround:
    Restart the Unity Connection servers
    It should have been fixed in 8.5 but we did change the SMTP domain name on 8.6 and now see the problem. Will schedule a reboot and see if the issue goes away.

  • Issue on Cisco Unity Connection after performing 'utils ntp restart'

    Hello everybody.
    There's a client with Cisco Unity Connection 8.5.1.10000-206. After doing a 'utils ntp restart', the following message showed up:
    Communication is not functioning correctly between the servers in the Cisco Unity Connection cluster. To review server status for the cluster, go to the Tools > Cluster Management page of Cisco Unity Connection Serviceability.
    The client states that there was no service for 5 minutes and wants to know if performing this task shoud be disruptive or not and if there is any official document from Cisco stating this.
    See SrvConnUnity_1.jpg sent by the client after performing the ntp restart.
    Right now the service is normal (see SrvConnUnity_2.jpg attached). The client also sent a 'utils ntp
    status':

    Breaking up the output of the "utils ntp status"  there are are two considerations:
    admin:utils ntp status
    ntpd (pid 10899) is running...

    First, you are using the ip address 127.127.1.0 which is the referenced used for the local system clock, the asterisc means is the preferred option as there is no other IP available. This is not a good practice and not recommended.
    Secondly the stratum is unreliable, meaning too high to reach or too low to be accepted by Unity Connection.
    If you would happen to run 'utils diagnose test' you would have probably seen an output as the following example below:

    The reference NTP server is a stratum 11 clock.
    NTP servers with stratum 5 or worse clocks are deemed unreliable.
    Please consider using an NTP server with better stratum level.
    Please use OS Admin GUI to add/delete NTP servers.

    And on the RTMT (Real Time Monitoring Tool) you would have seen a Critical event:
    Condition:
    The best external NTP server, , is stratum , which is unacceptably high. External NTP servers must be <= strata 8 and should be <= strata 5. NTP server strata can be verified using the CLI 'utils ntp status' command ('st' column). Try using different NTP servers.
    Problem cause:
    All specified external NTP server(s) have unacceptably high stratum values. Network issues exist or the designated servers have unreliable stratum values.
    Information is self explanatory and therefore reassures the need of having a NTP different from the server itself.
    By the snippet you sent we can know that it is the publisher server, as the Subscriber polls this information from the Publisher.

    "Cisco recommends that you use an external NTP server to ensure accurate system time on the publisher server. Ensure the external NTP server is stratum 9 or higher (meaning stratums 1-9). The subscriber server will get its time from the publisher server"
    Documentation also reaffirms the need for that NTP to be accessible otherwise your system can be degraded.  Some addtional information which would be interesting to know is:
    - Why did they had to restart the NTP in the first place?

    "A network time protocol (NTP) server must be accessible to the Connection server"
    On the Cisco Unity Connection Serviceability> Tools> CLuster Management screen shot you sent i see that the ports were "Not Available" and that the customer stated "there was no service for 5 minutes".
    By no service did they mean that over the phone they heard a disconnected tone or a failsafe message?
    Additionaly after the servers resolved from SBR the Subscriber never recovered entirely as it did not start the Conversation Manager service.
    Bottom line if they are able to reproduce it then it would be worth a while checking with TAC

  • Change Default User Creation OU in Unity 7.x

    How do I change where users are created by default when they are added through the web system administration on unity 7.x and Exchange 2003?  For a failover system do i need to modify it on both servers, or just the primary?  I looked through the reconfiguration guide and didn't see anything that specifically covered this..

  • How to Change Default User Directory without changing System Directory

    Hi Everyone,
    I need to change default User Directory for my JDeveloper 11.1.1.0.2.
    Default User Directory = C:/JDeveloper/mywork
    Default System Directory = *<JDEV_HOME>/System*
    Now I Need to Change it to
    My Default User Directory = C:/Monty/JDev11g2/
    But System's Default Dir = *<JDEV_HOME>/System*(Same)
    For this i explicitly Set variable ide.user.dir to C:/Monty/JDev11g2/ in JDev.boot file as explained in Installation document.
    Working fine but it contains System Folder too. I don't want this.
    Any Help to find me separate these both as it works for Single User.

    You can apply  system-wise "negative" color effect under Settings > General > Accessibility, by toggling the White and Black switch - and, in iCab Mobile (and some other, better browsers / PDF readers), its own "night mode" negative color scheme.
    Otherwise, no, you can't do anything else except for asking third party app authors to add selectable back/froeground (=text) colors to their apps.

    It is possible, and may be changed using the Terminal if you know the commands. However, the easier way is to use TinkerTool <http://www.bresink.com/osx/TinkerTool.html>.

    If you're having trouble making changes to files that are inside your home folder (represented by a house icon in the sidebar of a Finder window), or if you can't get changes to the settings of an application to stick, then please see below.
    Back up all data.
    This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
    I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, they may not work as described.
    Step 1
    If you have more than one user, and the one in question is not an administrator, then go to Step 2.
    Triple-click anywhere in the following line on this page to select it:

    Well that only works with HTTPS, i.e. with URLs and HttpsURLConnections. If you're using Sockets directly you have to use the API.

  • Cisco Unity Connection ViewMail Password manual reset after LDAP change

    Unity Connection 8.5.1, Viewmail 8.5.4 and Exchange 2010 with 2008 AD
    We are migrating to Unity Connection from Unity 7.0.2 and have discovered that when we change our passwords in AD (scheduled every 40 days) this does not get synchronized with viewmail.  Users then receive an error indicating the user ID or password is incorrect and then call the helpdesk to find out where to change this setting.  Has anyone found a way around this.  It is becomking a huge issue with 1200+ employees. 
    Hopefully it is on a roadmap for cisco as well?

    I like the other features that 8.5 brings but the outlook viewmail single sign on design fault is a big mistake. It even effects cupc client as you have to  update the voicemail password in their...
    I did read all the documentation carefully, it doesnt mention that the passwords do no sync. From a end user point of view, this is a disator. 95% of our users manage the voicemail through outlook, if the password doesnt update in viewmail then they can not retrieve their voicemail.
    anyway, i ve spent alot of time and money building the new connection server, but i have no option but to stick to our unity 5 solution. Luckily i noticed this before i changed/migrated people groupwide.
