Changing device type of external Bluetooth speaker

I have an Aura Blunote speaker. I am attempting to connect wirelessly. It will only connect as a 'headphones' type device.
Can it be changed to a 'speaker' type device as this will drastically improve the sound quality? Changing the device type does not come up as an option when i am pairing the device.

Same issue
Works fine on my HTC thunderbolt, Even works fine on my brothers Mac (same year and OS build).
My audio used to work fine through my bluetooth adapters but now the audio is way lower than it should be. This is a recent problem, it worked fine before. I believe an update may have cuased this, then again my brothers mac is working just fine even after the update. I even tried switching the bluetooth adapter and it still has the problem so I know its my Mac.
Please fix this issue...
Me and my brother Both have 2011 Macbook Pros, running 10.7.4 and the adapters are Blackberry adapters used to receive the audio from my mac and play through my home entertainment system via aux jack from the bluetooth adapter.

  • External bluetooth speaker volume to low

    Hello,
I have an external bluetooth speaker from jawbone called jambox. From the start on I had the normal speaker volume like I also stil have it if I connected the bluetooth speaker with my iPod touch. But some day ago, the volume from my whole Mac (not just from iTunes) dropped through my Jawbone. It is not just about 40% of that, what I know of, that the Jawbone Jambox is able to bring.
This problem exists through all audio / video programs on my Macbook Pro. So like in iTunes, also in VLC or MplayerX. Everywhere. The software sound of MacOS Lion is on maximum. Also the sound control of the jambox itself is reached. It seems like there is a protection against to high volume anywhere turned on which just do not allow me to turn up the volume beyond a specifc point of db.
But, I can only repeat: The speaker is in a good shape. I am able to play music much more louder with my iPod paired. But just not with my macbook. I am looking for a "hidden" option to disable the maximum volume limitation of my Mac to the speaker.
Would be happy if anyone know a solution for that issue...

  • Change Device Type

I have a Lego Mindstorms NXT paired up with my MB and in the bluetooth preference pane "Devices" tab it shows up. The "Device Type" is "Unknown Class". I'm wondering if it's at all possible to edit the pairing so that the device type is, say, "Lego NXT" or something of that sort. Thanks in advance for your help.

Forget it, it's not that important.

  • Bluetooth Speaker Issues

I have an iMac11,1 Core i7, 27" running 10.6.8.  I have an external bluetooth speaker that I just started using with this mac.  A few issues:
    1) When I turn the speaker on, it connects automatically, but it connects in Mono - which has TERRIBLE sound quality.  I have to manually disconnect it and reconnect in Stereo.  Is there a way for it to automatically connect in Stereo?
    2) There is a slight delay in the audio, about a half to a full second.  For example, if I'm watching a video, the sound from the bluetooth is delayed.  If I disconnect the bluetooth (while letting the video run), the sound is synced when the internal speakers come on; then if I reconnect the bluetooth, it's delayed again.
    3) Is there any way to play through both internal speakers AND bluetooth at the same time? (while of course, being synchronized wrt #2 above)
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Mark, my issue was a result of too much fatigue and too few brains. I had merely forgotten to turn on pairing on my bluetooth device. Once I realized my idiotic mistake, it worked immediately. Don’t know what the problem on your side could be. I believe the newest bluetooth technology (iPhone 6) is backward compatible with the oldest bluetooth technology (headphones) so it should work. Might want to check out this link iOS: Troubleshooting Bluetooth connections Good luck!

  • Convert_otf - Identify device type

    Hi Experts
I am more of a functional consultant, so please excuse if this is simple thing to find out.
We are calling functional module CONVERT_OTF through a custom program to convert outputs of billing documents into a PDF file. However the PDF file generated has alignment and formatting issues. So we checked further and our ABAP consultant mentioned that the device type 'SCREEN' is used while converting the output into PDF format. This device type does not have any formats attached we we can see through transaction SPAD. So they feel this is the reason for incorrect format / misalignment of PDF output.
So we want to change the device type 'SCREEN' to 'WINSAP' which has all the required formats attached to it.
However our abaper does not not know when the program calls for device type and where to change it. He feels that output device type is called by standard FM CONVERT_OTF and we need to check with SAP on the same.
Therefore we need to know how we can change device type for this requirement. If someone has worked similar query, please help us to resolve this. Any pointers would be highly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Santosh

    Hi Santosh,
If your requirement is to save the preview as PDF of the billing documents, you just need to type PDF! in the command field of the print preview screen and do a f8 then a pop will come up and then you can save or print the preview.
Note : you have to type PDF in Capitals and along with ! (exclamation mark symbol) i.e. PDF! .
    Hope this helps.

  • How to change Major/Minor bluetooth device type?

I have a fleet of 8540w that will be used in a medical field service application. The field devices are bluetooth devices and will only pair with a device that has a Bluetooth major type of Medical Equipment. How can I change the bluetooth major device type that is reported by the notebook to the field devices?

I would have thought so, too. However, the mouse showed up with the name on a new MBP that it had not been paired with before. So, either the mouse remembers it's name, or there is some sort of sync of Bluetooth device information via Apple ID or the like. Otherwise, the MBP could not have know the name that it was given on the iMac...

  • I have a new sound bar that I plug my phone into through the headphone jack. I also have a bluetooth speaker that I want to play through as well. Is there anyway I can play to both devices at once?

I have a speaker that I am connecting through my headphone jack but I have a bluetooth speaker in another room that I want to play through as well. Is there anyway I can play to both speakers at once? I saw another post on line that suggested going to the Audio MIDI setup and adding additional output devices. The problem is, I see that on my computer but nothing for my iphone. Can this work? I have also seen things for airplay and of course this is all making my mind fuzzy. Help!

Sure-glad to help you. You will not lose any data by changing synching to MacBook Pro from imac. You have set up Time Machine, right? that's how you'd do your backup, so I was told, and how I do my backup on my mac.  You should be able to set a password for it. Save it.  Your stuff should be saved there. So if you want to make your MacBook Pro your primary computer,  I suppose,  back up your stuff with Time machine, turn off Time machine on the iMac, turn it on on the new MacBook Pro, select the hard drive in your Time Capsule, enter your password, and do a backup from there. It might work, and it might take a while, but it should go. As for clogging the hard drive, I can't say. Depends how much stuff you have, and the hard drive's capacity.  As for moving syncing from your iMac to your macbook pro, should be the same. Your phone uses iTunes to sync and so that data should be in the cloud. You can move your iTunes Library to your new Macbook pro
you should be able to sync your phone on your new MacBook Pro. Don't know if you can move the older backups yet-maybe try someone else, anyways,
This handy article from Apple explains how
How to move your iTunes library to a new computer - Apple Support''
don't forget to de-authorize your iMac if you don't want to play purchased stuff there
and re-authorize your new macBook Pro
time machine is an application, and should be found in the Applications folder. it is built in to OS X, so there is nothing else to buy. double click on it, get it going, choose the Hard drive in your Time capsule/Airport as your backup Time Machine  and go for it.  You should see a circle with an arrow on the top right hand of your screen (the Desktop), next to the bluetooth icon, and just after the wifi and eject key (looks sorta like a clock face). This will do automatic backups  of your stuff.

  • TS3048 My early 2009 Mac Pro does not connect via bluetooth to my sound bar or bluetooth mini speakers. Both my wireless keyboard and mouse have no problems connecting. What do I need to do to connect to external bluetooth devices?

My early 2009 Mac Pro does not connect via bluetooth to my sound bar or bluetooth mini speakers. Both my wireless keyboard and mouse have no problems connecting. What do I need to do to connect to external bluetooth devices?

I would always have a wired keyboard and mouse on hand (need not be expensive ... any cheap wired devices will work).  "Emergency recovery" procedures can activate features in random order, so the opportunity to select a recovery partition may pass before the wireless devices are recognized.
That will let you select the "turn on Bluetooth" icon.

  • Keeps changing my Device Type to XSAN

    Hello
I installed FCS and did all the updates. I create DEVICEs for all my devices. They are local. Everything seems fine. The next day, I try to work with my devices, and FCS has changed the "type" to XSAN, and says I have to enter a valid XSAN address for the device. How can I change the type back to Local? Why is it changing on me?
    Thanks,
    Jim

Device type "Xsan" = device's "edit-in-place" enabled, that is all to it. I suspect Apple developers named this device status "Xsan" in order to make more customers buy Xsan, and they just "forgot" to mention that to their 1st tier pro apps support people
So, if your device can sustain multiple video read/writes and can be shared, you might want to consider enabling "edit-in-place" or, in other words, get it "Xsanized" for Final Cut Server.

  • Output different if Device Type changed from SWIN  to HPLJ4

    Hi,
I have a few problems here for my SAP smartform. Hope someone out there can help.
1/ I am using font: Helvetica for my smartform. I realized that the output (on Print Preview as well as the actual Print output) shows a different font if I chose Device Type: HPLJ4. If I choose my actual printer HP4250 as the Device Type, the font is the same as that shown for SWIN as Device Type, but the spacing is a bit different. Is there any way I can make sure that the font type, spacing will not differ for a different Device Type?
2/ The reason why I am not printing using SWIN as Device Type (which will ensure consistent output even if printer is changed) is becoz I need to use the PCL5 print control commands to rotate a certain section of text in my smartforms- which is only possible on HP PCL5 printers. Is there any way I could rotate text in smartforms without print commands and yet I can still use SWIN as Device Type? (pls do not suggest creating a bitmap picture for the text).
<b>In short,</b> I need to know how can I ensure consistent output (same margin, same font, same font spacing) even if a different printer is used (any Device Type I can use?) and at the same time, enable me to rotate a certain section of text in my smartform(180 degrees)?
Thanks very much for any help.

    Hi,
For the first question, generally the output (spacing etc) changes when you change the device type. So you need to adjust the alignment according to your output type.
    Thanks,
    Nagendra

  • HT204368 I have a Tango TRX bluetooth speaker that is suddenly not able to connect to my New iPad. It worked fine for a few eeks and now I get the previously unseen "This device not supported by iPad" message. It was supported for three weeks. Thanks

Most of the question is in the discussion header. I have a Tango TRX bluetooth speaker that worked fine for three weeks with my third generation iPad. I started having trouble connecting and recieved the "not supported by iPad" message. It connects just fine until I open any app that requires sound and at thet point I recieve the message and the device disconnects. The Tango still pairs flawlessly with my laptop which is not an Apple product. How could a product suddenly become unsupported?

The Apple Support Communities are an international user to user technical support forum. As a man from Mexico, Spanish is my native tongue. I do not speak English very well, however, I do write in English with the aid of the Mac OS X spelling and grammar checks. I also live in a culture perhaps very very different from your own. When offering advice in the ASC, my comments are not meant to be anything more than helpful and certainly not to be taken as insults.
Try a reset. Press & hold the Power and Home buttons simultaneously, ignoring the red power off slider, until the Apple logo appears. Then release both buttons. This should not affect any content on the iPad, it is similar to rebooting your computer.

  • Bluetooth Device Type

Is there a way to discover a bluetooth device's 'Type of Device' (mobile phone, pda, pc etc). It looks to me that you can only discover address, name and services.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
You can only discover the mac and perhaps name of the bluetooth device, not it's actual type (unless you know what the address is, and bind that in a database or file to its type). You may be able to find more information out online by searching the first half of the mac address, but this will most likely only come up with bluetooth vendor and not device type.
    All the best,
    Applications Engineer
