Changing dialog box fonts

Hi all,
I've recently started a new job where the computer (mac Pro4 OS X 10.6.8) I'm using was being used by someone else before I started. When I open Dreamweaver (CS4 already installed when I got here) all of the dialog boxes have a strange block font which is hard to read and in some cases, cut off and I can't read what certain fields are supposed to be.
I tried fooling around with the preferences in dreamweaver and I reset all settings to default in dreamweaver, but nothing I tried made a difference.
Below is a screen shot of what I'm trying to explain. You can see the dark block font describing what each field is. All of the dialog boxes and properties panels are like this. How do I change this to something like arial or helvetica or anything that's easier to read than what's showing?

Thanks for the help. I've been working on cleaning up the font book for a while. I got rid of the duplicates and all of the fonts with red "x's". I restarted the computer and it hasn't changed.
Then I went through all of the fonts and deleted all of the fonts that looked similar. It's still there. I probably just haven't found the right font, but I appreciate your help.
You can see it here on the opening credits too......so strange.

Open and Save Dialog Box Font Size

Greetings. Does anyone know how to change the font and icon sizes in Open and Save Dialog boxes in OSX 10.8? Back in Snow Leopard days, the parameters were stored in the users .GlobalPreferences.plist. But they do not appear to be there - or at least I don't recognize them in OSX 10.8. I recently started using a 27 inch Cinema Display, and the fonts are a bit small for me.
I appreciate any help anyone can offer.

Good question! Do submit feedback to Apple. Maybe if enough of us complain about this fundamental issue, they'll finally listen!

Constant "Download for free?..." dialog box

I'm getting a constant:
"Download for free?
This item will be added to your Purchases, and will be available even if your Family Sharing status changes"
dialog box while updating apps in iTunes. As soon as I dismiss the dialog by clicking "Download" an identical box comes up with the same question. I'm updating about 47 apps right now, and I've clicked the affirmative answer about 150 times. Super annoying.
Anyone else getting this? Is there a way to turn it off?

I am having the same problem as well. I am running the latest version of iTunes for Windows and am getting this box repetitively while I update my apps in my library. The worst part is that it doesn't seem to matter whether I click Download or Cancel or the red X; the box keeps coming back. And because it's modal, I cannot do ANYTHING else with iTunes until this box goes away. I cannot switch areas (apps, movies, TV shows) or even go to the iTunes store. The only way I can kill this thing is with Task Manager. It's completely ridiculous. I have clicked Download WAY more times than I have apps, TV shows, and movies combined.
When I start clicking Download, it just sits there and does nothing but present me with another dialog box. If I keep clicking rapidly, it will eventually display "Accessing iTunes store." and I get the striped thermometer, but then it just goes back to the dialog again and does nothing else apparently. I cannot figure out what the heck it is doing. So not pleased.
For what it's worth, I just looked at my watch (no, not an Apple watch); I've been clicking on this stupid Download button for over 40 minutes now, pretty much non-stop. It is not possible that this is linked to anything in my account. I also note that if I click Cancel at least 9 times, I can eventually get the box to go away. However if I then go to Update All Apps, the dialog box from he11 returns and does not allow me to update ANY of my apps and just keeps presenting the dialog box.

I've tried a lot of ways to change the font of the Labels and Buttons in JOptionPane.
But I still can't change the Input Dialog.

Updated firefox wants to use an uninstalled font for dialog boxes, how to change the font?

I'm running Redhat and I just upgraded firefox from 3.0 to 17. Webpages display correctly, but the menu options and dialog boxes are empty boxes. I need to either install the font it's looking for, in which case I need to know what font it's trying to use, or tell it to use a different font. I can't read the preferences menu, either. My older version displays just fine; is there a preferences file I can copy to the new directory to fix it?

This is what the preferences menu looks like. I have tried selected various fonts that I can read, but it doesn't change what's used in the menus.

Change color and font in two button dialog box

The two button dialog is boring.
I need to change the font (larger), the background color, the button color, and hilite the important part of the message.
Ex: is this color RED ? I'd like to see RED is red.

I think it will be better if you create your own dialog window. Create a vi with all the features you want the dialog window to perform. Edit the connectors of the vi so they return what you want to retrieve (Right-click the upper right icon in the fron panel of the vi and select "Show Connectors"). Then, edit the configuration of your vi so it behave like a dialog box (Right-click the upper right icon again and select "VI Setup..."). Finally, add your vi to your main application vi.

Dreamweaver CS4 MacOS X dialog boxes are displaying the wrong font

Just installed a free font I needed to use for a graphic design project. Opened up Dreamweaver to do a different project and found that all the text in the dialog box was being displayed in this font.
This is pretty maddening to look at - how do I change it back?

Er, uninstall the font?
Installing a new font should not do that to Dreamweaver. It sounds as though you have overwritten a system font.

Flash keeps wanting to map fonts with "Font Mapping" dialog box

Every time I open a CS4 Flasf FLA file I am prompted with the Font Mapping dialog box.
Even though I select the substitute fonts, every time it asks for it -- even after SAVE ASing the file under another name.
How can I get Flash CS4 to remember the fonts I have substituted?

I don't have CS4, but if it hasn't changed since CS3, if you read the warning that opens that font mapping you will probably see that it does not save the substituted fonts in the file. To get the fonts truly substituted you need to find the intances that use the fonts (shown in parentheses when missing) and select the new font.

Suppress dialog box for font not found

using VB I open AI and load ai files and send commands to save them in several image types, there are times that a dialog box stating Font not found with OK Cancel button appears. I need to suppress this dialog so my program does not hang. any advice will be highly appreciated. Thanks

You cannot suppress this warning. Every time you open a document Illustrator will let you know that you do not have the font on your computer or is not active.
The reason of this warning is because the layout may change, words or symbols could disappeared, etc. This warning cannot be ignore. If you do not have the font, you have to assigned a new font and make sure that the artwork is correct and nothing is missing.

I have a dialog window on my iPad2 labeled iCloud Bakup -- the iPad hasn't been backed up in 4 weeks. The screen is frozen. I can't clear away the dialog box to close down iPad and I can't get to settings to make any changes there. Ideas?

A dialog box has appeared on the screen of my iPad2 and has frozen the device so that I can't close it down or make changes to the settings. The titel is "iCloud Backup" and it reads: This iPad hasn't been backed up in 4 weeks. Backups happen when this iPad is plugged in, locked, and connected to WiFi.
I'm not sure why it hasn't backed up but I can't do anything to clear the dialog box, turn off the device or get to any settings or apps on the device.
Any suggestions? Please help -- I'm caring for my mother in hospice and don't have time to deal with this at the Apple Store!

Please check your local time format settings by the following steps:
1. Click the Time in the right bottom corner taskbar.
2. Click Change date and time settings.
3. In Date and Time window, click Change data and time.
4. In Date and Time Settings window, click Change calendar settings.
5. In Customize Format window, switch to Time tab.
6. Change the Short time format as H:mm instead of h:mm tt, set the Long time as H:mm:ss.
7. Click OK to save the setting to have a try.

Keyboard input to change the default selection in a dialog box.

Hello,
Let say I close a file that I had just edited without saving. I'll then have a dialog box "do you want to save?" with "yes" as default. If I do not want to save my changes, how can I select "no" or "cancel" with the keyboard?
I'm sure this is an easy one for a long time Mac user.

As a matter a fact there is. Just hit the first letter of the choice n = no, c=cancel etc. Edit. I tested this in Word for Mac and it worked but other programs don't so the method below is best.
An alternate method is to tab to the choice and hit enter.

I try to play the Itunes song I purchased. I have a new computer, another internet provider since I purchased the songs, and have switched to a new internet browser Internet Explorer 8. I keep getting a dialog box saying "this computer is not authorized to play the song. would you like to authorize it?
An old Apple ID popps up and I am asked for the old passwork which I no longer remember. I successfully changed to a new Apple ID and password.
when I enter that, a new dialog box appears, saying "this computer is already authorized." When I try to play the song the first box appears again,
I I go round over and over, with no success playing my songs. Can anybody out their resolve this? Thanks for any help

Account is a user neame and password with which you purchase content.
A library is your collection of media.
