Changing DMSYS password in EBS 11i
Hi ,
Followed 189367.1. page 51-56 in the pdf file and didnt found how change this schema .
Can i just run alter user dmsys identified by xxxx , or should i change the FNDCPASS utility ?
Thanks
Pl post details of OS, database and EBS versions.
Password for DMSYS schema can be changed using the ALTER USER command. FNDCPASS cannot be used to change the password for this schema as it is not an EBS schema.

Lost of APPS password for EBS 11i (11.5.10.2)
I need to reset APPS password in my test environment. The APPS password is now messed up and I need to find a way to reset it. I am in the process of cloning an existing environment. I can not start all the services yet. The FNDCPASS utility works only when you know a valid APPS password. However, my current APPS password is not working anymore. Is there way to accomplish this?
Greatly appreciated if anyone can help.Hi,
Really bad situation....although you might still come over it if you have not played around much...
Do you have any other environement with apps password working and also if you have not run autoconfig on target server? If yes then it would be easier...
Take backup of FND_USER, FND_ORACLE_USERID on target server(where you are facing issue).
truncate these table from target.
eport these tables from some working env(source) and import it here(target) and then use apps pass of source to work here.

Hello Guys,
We are running ebs 12.1.3 on OEL6. Upon logon today I was a prompt to chage the sysadmin's password. I ended using FNDCPASS for a successful change:
FNDCPASS apps/apps 0 Y system/xxxxx USER SYSADMIN xxxxx
Since then I have been unable to connect into the apps with its URL - I am getting
"500 Internal Server Error" Servlet error: An exception occurred. The current application deployment descriptors do not allow for including it in this response. Please consult the application log for details.

Help!! Need to display current EBS 11i user password policy
I need to find way to display Oracle EBS 11i (Oracle Financial)'s current password policy for each EBS user account. Is there any way to do it? Can we run some SQLs to pull it off or need to run any report to do this.
Thanks advanceFrom the application, see (How To Setup Password Security? [ID 564125.1]).
From the database, see the docs referenced in this thread -- User profile report

EBS 11i After Installation login username and password
Hi ! I installed oracle EBS 11i on windows xp. I want to login to EBS but dont know the default administrator/sysadmin username and password. Any guru to help me please.
Hi Naveed,
Oracle Applications 11i being a vast product. You need to first determine what you want to learn in this product.
1. Oracle Applicaitons Technology(Job Role = Apps DBA / Sys admin)
2. Oracle Applications Functional (Job role = Functional Consultant)
Once you decide the path, it is easier to find relevant information. About the modules you are learn via the Apps Documentation available on OTN. Also search for blogs dedicated to Apps technology or functional areas that interest you.
The other way is to join an Institute which trains for a specific job role you are looking for.
Hope this helps.

Monitoring Password Resets to EBS 11i IDs
Has anyone been forced, for SOX compliance, to monitor EBS 11i user ID password resets? If YES, how are you monitoring those resets?
I don't think any standard 11i report exists.
Is anyone using the Audit functionality within Audit Tables to monitor password resets? Or perhaps using the table / column audit functionality within the 9i database itself? You can query the applsys.fnd_user table, it has a number of password related columns. (password_date, password_access_left, etc.)

Hi Friends,
As Apps DBA in your company, can you share me how do u managed your EBS 11i/R12
Production systems please. What are the basic daily activity that I should be doing so that I will not encounter problems with the system and make the system run smoothly day by day.
Thanks a lotHi Again :)
I found some AppsDBA Responsibilities in Google, Is this a good one? Or lacking of somethings.
Thanks

Change hostname/domain in ebs 12.0.6
Hi All,
I have single node installation of EBS R12 (12.0.6) and database version is 10.2,
I want to change hostname and domain name of application and database.
I have found this document (ID 341322.1). i think this document is for EBS 11i ,
may i follow this document on EBS R12 ?
Thank & Regards
Ravi KumarHi Ravi,
Please have a look at the following notes, applicable to r12:
How to change the hostname and/or port of the Database Tier using AutoConfigNote (338003.1 )
How to change the hostname of an Applications Tier using AutoConfig (341322.1 )
You may follow link:
CHANGE HOSTNAME OR IP-Address OR DOMAIN NAME ON APPS-TIER OR DB-TIER in R12
http://applicationsdba.blogspot.com/2011/04/r12-iphost-name-change.html
Additionally, 2nd step would be..
- Run preclone script on DB and Apps Tier
- Change network necessary changes
- Run the post clone script.
Hope this helps!
Best Regards -

Why not we lock these schemas instead of change the password
The documentation mentioned that the following schemas belong to individual APPS base products. By default the password is the same as the SCHEMA name. Changing the password for these schemas does not affect any configuration files.

If not affect any configuration files, why not we lock these schemas instead of change the password. These are the Schemas Shipped with E-Business Suite.
In oracle EBS there is lot of inter dependency present between all schemas. For dependency pls check following link;

Installing Oracle EBS 11i installation problem
Dear All,
I have a problem regarding the installation of Oracle EBS 11i of which I can't figure out a solution.
After unzipping all the 108 files during the rapidwiz installation the installer seems to halt (in step 1, 100% of file extraction). It involves instconf.drv but it doesn't show me an error in the installation logs. The line that appears is the following:
instantiatefile -d instconf.drv
I tried to change my Linux distribution from SLES10 to Ubuntu but that doesn't work either.
Could you please help me out with this.
Kind regards,
Charif EnnaciriDear hsawwan,
I checked the log file and it's full of lines similar like:

Hi Friends,
I am cloning EBS 11i AIX 5L on the same server.
Currently we have EBS 11i PROD on the server, @user oracle.
I want to clone it to EBS 11i TEST on the same server, @user oracle2.
Things I did:
1. run autoconfig
2. run preclone programs
3. copy appl and db file to new location for user oracle2.
4. run cloning at user oracle2.
But I got the following error:
$ perl adcfgclone.pl dbTier
Enter the APPS password [APPS]:

Upload it for review.
/etc/hosts is the same because we are cloning on the same server PROD and TEST

Changing database Profile to EBS Schemas
Hi,
SOX and some other regulations force using strong passwords in EBS .
Currently all owr EBS Schemas are assigned to the DEFAULT database profile.
(select profile from dba_users where profile='DEFAULT')
I would like to know if there are any restrictions regarding changing EBS default database profile to more "secure" profile that include strong password verification , number of allowed
filed login attempts before the user will be locked and etc.
Thank You.The document explain how to change there password and not mention if there are restriction related to changing there DATABASE PROFILE ,
from DEFAULT to a more secure profile as i explained above. If you can change the password then it should be OK to create a new secure profile for those users. Just make sure not to set the profile options to lock the users in case of incorrect number of passwords entered, otherwise you would have issues.
Thanks,

Page cannot run normally on EBS 11i
I developed an OAF page and it is used to search data and insert data into base table for those records user checked the checkbox.
I run this page per my JDeveloper 9i and debug it. The page runs well and the data are inserted into base table successfully. So I import it into MDS and deploy it onto EBS 11i (the same server and database). And then I hang it under a standard menu which has a side navigator. When I test it, I find out the url on the side navigator is not correct as standard's. So I modify my page and use standard AM and CO on pageLayout. And place my AM and CO and my custom queryRN. Then the URL of side navigator works now. And the data also can be searched as well as before.
But, when I check some checkbox and then submit the create button, nothing happened. No error raised and no data is inserted into base table. (I remove all try ... catch but no any error info raised yet)
So I wish somebody can help me to analysis about this problem. Any advices are appreciated. What changes exactly did you make to your AM, CO? Did you put debug messages in your controller and check if the call is going to create method call?
