Changing dtw workbench tamplates

Respected Sir,
Is It possible we add some other fields in DTW workbench tamplates. Actually When i m going to import xl data to dtw workbench then it shows 0 fields imported. I know xl data fields and tamplate fields must be same.
So is it any option through which we can import that xl data in dtw workbench. Or is it possible we can add some useful fields in dtw wokbench tamplate. Please give me proper solution ASAP.Egarly waiting for ur suggetion. Please help me out. If is possilbe tell me related link related to this.
With Regards..
Ambesh Tripathi.

Hi Ambesh,
                  yes it is possible to add fields in the dtw template. Once you log on to DTW, go to Advanced>maintain interface> from the drop down, you can select the doc type for ex. oBusiness partners-->then you can select the field on which you want to add , select it, right click on it and you get an option to add field. In this way, you can create your own templates as well.
       Hope, the info was helpful.. Al the best.

I know before using data workbench i have to connect with license server this add-on.To activate license manager i use sap b1 server suit manager and select license manager from drop-down menu. but when i click on  logon in dtw workbench it gives an error "connection with license server is failed". So please suggest me how can i fix this problem.

    Hi,
    Leave the field blank (license server name) if you are using the option Login to DB.
    or if you are using the windows authentication then you need to put the server name its normally the name of the machine where SQL is deployed.
    Thanks,

  • Define dependencies between Change Request (Workbench or customizing)

    Hi there,
    supose I have 2 Workbench request. It is possible to define a dependencie between them?
    The idea is to force SAP to transport both in certain order so I can avoid integrity problems.
    Thanks.

    I doubt if we have anything like this.... rather than having a documentation in the Tr. req and asking the Basis team to have a look at those notes.

  • How to delete the workbench client server name in FDM

    Hi Gurus
    How to delete/change the workbench client server name in FDQM?
    regards
    Sarilla

    OK, I understand now. You are referring to the Load Balance Server Group. Yes, this can be done:
    a) Browse to Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\Products\FinancialDataQuality\SharedComponents\Config
    b) Locate the LoadBalanceServerGroups.xml file
    You can delete this file. The next time the workbench is launched it will ask you to set the load balance server group again and will create this file again.

  • Workbench v/s Customazing

    Hi,
    can anyone please explain me the difference between customizing request and workbench request.
    regards
    Manju

    CU (Customizing) = change the content of a Customizing table ( refers to TA SM30 or special CU-Transactions)
    WB (Workbench) = change a workbench obj.( an object , that was created with the workbench, i.e., with se38, se80 or se11) -> refers to a developement object not
    content of a control-table

  • Synchronized method in a java class used by many interfaces

    My interface (idoc to file) is using a java class, which has one method that reads a table from a central database and after doing some calculations updates it.
    (The interface instantiate the class inside a user-defined function and calls the method there.)
    The problem is that if somebody sends 100 idocs at the same time, there can be a “dirty read”, I mean, a read just before other interface updates the table.
    We want the following:
    Interface 1:
    -          Read counter from the table (counter = 5 )
    -          Increment counter (counter = 6)
    -          Update table with that counter (table with counter = 6)
    Interface 2:
    -          Read counter from the table (counter = 6 )
    -          Increment counter (counter = 7)
    -          Update table with that counter (table with counter = 7)
    RESULT: The table has the counter = 7
    But what is happening is the following:
    -          Interface 1 reads (counter = 5)
    -          Interface 2 reads (counter = 5)
    -          Interface 1 increments counter (counter = 6)
    -          Interface 2 increments counter (counter = 6)
    -          Interface 1 updates table (table with counter = 6)
    -          Interface 2 updates table (table with counter = 6)
    RESULT: The table has the counter = 6 (WRONG)
    I made the method synchronized. What I was expecting was that only one interface (i1) could enter the method (read the table and update it) while other interfaces running at the same time would have to wait until i1 finished that method.
    My first test indicates that's not happening. Can anybody help me to find a solution?

    Hi Bhavesh,
    If the QOS is EOIO this means that the integration engine manage the call to the mapping program (and all the other blocks) inside an "internal" synchronized method.
    So this means that in this case you do not need to manage the queued access (synchronization) inside your custom java code because it is already enveloped in a queued block by XI.
    The problem that Jorge had can be easily reproduced using the sample code that follows:
    <b>class Synch Object</b>
    import java.util.Date;
    public class SynchObject {
         String strName;
         public SynchObject(String strName){
              this.strName = strName;
         public synchronized void syncWrite(String strCaller) throws InterruptedException{
              Date now;
              now = new Date();
              System.out.println("-- " + now.toLocaleString() + " " + strCaller + " entering syncWrite of " + strName);
              System.out.flush();
              Thread.sleep(1000);
              now = new Date();
              System.out.println("-- " + now.toLocaleString() + " syncWrite of " + strName + " called by " + strCaller );
              System.out.flush();
              Thread.sleep(1000);
              now = new Date();
              System.out.println("-- " + now.toLocaleString() + " " + strCaller + " leaving syncWrite of " + strName);
              System.out.println("");
              System.out.flush();
    <b>class Caller</b>
    public class Caller implements Runnable {
         String strName;
         SynchObject target;
         int intMax;
         public Caller(String strName, SynchObject target, int intMax) {
              this.strName = strName;
              this.target = target;
              this.intMax = intMax;
         public void run() {
              for(int i=0; i<intMax;i++)
                   try {
                        target.syncWrite(strName);
                   } catch (InterruptedException e) {
                        e.printStackTrace();
    <b>class Workbench</b>
    public class Workbench {
         public static void main(String[] args) {
              // TODO Auto-generated method stub
              SynchObject sObj1 = new SynchObject("syncObj1");
              SynchObject sObj2 = new SynchObject("syncObj2");
              Caller c1 = new Caller("caller1",sObj1,2);
              Caller c2 = new Caller("caller2",sObj1,2); '[*CHANGE*]
              Thread ct1 = new Thread(c1);
              Thread ct2 = new Thread(c2);
              ct1.start();
              ct2.start();
    Run the workbench class to see what happen when setting QOS EOIO (the synch object is the same).
    To see instead what happen now (missing synchronization) you have to change in Workbench class the statement
    Caller c2 = new Caller("caller2",sObj1,2); '[*CHANGE*]
    with
    Caller c2 = new Caller("caller2",sObj2,2); '[*CHANGE*]
    The reason is that every instance of the mapping program declare a new instance of the "Synchronized object" so the calls are synchronized inside the same mapping program but not between several mapping program.
    Hope this give you a better idea on this problems with java synchronization, but if you have further doubts (I know it's a little bit tricky ) feel free to ask.
    Kind Regards,
    Sergio

  • Question about Quality Gate Management

    Hi Solman profis,
    I have questions about the transport requests in QGM.
    My Solution Manager is 7.1.
    I have a Solman project, in which I activated QGM and created a Change and created two transport requests (one workbench, one customizing) attached to it, .
    I'm little bit confused by the concept.
    My questions are:
    1. Why I cannot see the transport requests that I created previously in the DEV system manually? If it's normal, for which reason is this designed like this? If it's not normal, how can I configure to see those requests?
    2. What is the difference between the Change here in QGM and the Change in ChaRM?
    3. In practice, how should the transport requests be created? By the developer in DEV systems, or by the responsibles in Solution Manager Workbench (Change Management Workbench)?
    Thanks a lot!

    For the 3rd question, I think TRs should be created in Change Management Workcenter, is it the correct process?
    For the other questions, can somebody give some input?

  • FDM Report Engine - MS Office

    I need to publish FDM report in default view - MS Excel Office in Web on the Check step (4th fish).
    I changed in Workbench Report Properties parameter "Report Engine" from Active to MS Office i have an error  while launching a report.
    Maybe there are some extra settings or extra xml scripts which i need to do for success display reports with parameter in Report Engine - MS Office?
    Waiting for your answers.
    Thanks
    El

    The report engine must be set to "Active" for all of the reports to run successfully, this cannot be changed.
    The report default publish type Can be changed in the "Web Settings"
    Choose Administraiton > Web Settings
    Set the Default Report Publish Type to WORD from the default setting of PDF and save.
    If you would like users to change this in their settings check the "Enable Default Report Type Override" and then user can change this in user settings if they do not want it to be Word.

  • Handling ABAP requests in WCM.

    Hello experts,
    I am wondering about any way to take a copy/image from my own ABAP requests from development client to another client inside the landscape (e.g. any tool like BC sets but for ABAP requests).
    Any idea?
    Thanks & Best Reagrds,
    Amr Elfakharany

    Both configuration changes and workbench changes are normally registered in so-called transports in the development/configuration system - and are able to be moved between systems within a landscape using the transport management services. Your basis people will be able to help you - unless I've completely mis-understood your question.

  • Unable to set FMBB Layout  and fix Distribution Key

    Hi Gurs
            Subject :  ECC 6.00  Fund Management BCS configuration & Issue in Layout for FMBB  - reg.
    While giving Budget in FMBB,  it askes Distribution Key ( DK ). Then  I selected SAP standard DK No 1 for "Equal Distribution".
    When i save the budget- in FMBB, the Distribution Key coloumn is vanished.   I am advised to check the Layout to rectify it.
    Now I  have been trying to set the LAY OUT with Menu Bar ->  EXTRAS -> CHANGE  BUDGETING WORKBENCH LAYOUT.
    There are  5 Lay out.
    Whatever lay out selected,  that DK is vanished while save FMBB.
    Klyy  advice and correct me ...

    Hi Alex Ice,
    Applied  notes as specified by you..
    Now, in Layout "FMLA"  put the Distribution Key as  7  ( ie. DK 7 stands for Distribution the budget as per dates of period )
    Which is available in FMBB.   ok.
    In FMBB, I have been trying to select " All " in order to distribute the all the 12 period.
    But, it takes the period of 2 and is not distributing the budget for all period.  ( Remember i selected the " Auto Release" ) .
    Don't know where  i missed out the settings.   Kly  guide to proceed further....

    ASCP => Workbench => select a plan => Select a plan => View supply/demand => Click new => Insert any item, date and quantity => When saving the error message appears
    I could not reproduce the issue on our internal instances.
    We have recompiled the form but error still persists.

  • Urgent: ICWC

    Hi,
    In IC Web Client,
    Is it possible to change the context class, change it to Z class, without creaing an attribute??
    I mean when we create an attribute the class gets changed to Z class, but is it possible to do it without creating an attribute??
    Regards,
    Pranay

    Hi Pranay
    The only way I know how to do this in bsp_wd_workbench is to add an attribute. I still prefer this method, if you dont need the attribute you can delete the get/set methods afterwards.
    You can of course implement all the changes the workbench does in SE80. Subclass the controller, context and context node classes. Then redefine the methods that instantiate context and context nodes. This is quite a bit of effort.
    Also, if you manually implement the changes the BSP workbench won't necessarily be able to perform any future enhancements.
    For this reason I will always add a new attribute in the workbench even though I don't need it(Which will subclass everything properly).
    Hope it helps

  • Mass assigning of inspection plans

    Hey everybody
    Im new to SAP and Im handling quality module. I have around 1 lac material to whom inspection plan has to be assigned. Can anybody help me (except BDC) out how can i assign them in mass so that it takes lesser time.

    There is no easy mass load for inspection plan assignments.
    You can use the engineering change management workbench which does allow fast manual entry, (I usually set up an excel spreadsheet and then copy and paste into CWBQM or QP02 depending on the client and how inspection plans are to be assigned.
    In CWBQM I can do about 24 assignments every 10 seconds for about 144 a minute or about 8500/hour.  With pauses or breaks about 6000 an hour is reasonable to expect.
    In QP02 I can do about 14 per 20 seconds.  That's about 42 a minute or roughly 2500 an hour.  But you have to do them plan by plan so that can slow it down, especially if you only have a few materials per plan.  Realistically about 1800 - 2000 an hour with pauses and breaks.
    So with QP02, about 15,000 a day is realistic.  With CWBQM about 50,000 a day could be done.  Buit if you have 100,000 entries to make and you have to do 2-3 mock loads in different test systems plus the final go-live load, you are probably much better off having a program to do this.  If it is  primarily a one or two time thing, you could hire a temp, do it yourself or train a handful of team membes to do it.  Using CWBQM and asking 7 other team members to do about 2hrs of loading would get your 100,000 done in 2-3  hours.
