  • Change email address / Apple ID in Settings iCloud?

I had to change the email address for my Apple ID. So I did this on the Apple dedicated page. I deleted the old email address as it is not used more. I enabled the new email address which I will use instead. I deactivated mostly linked to my Apple ID on my iPhone. Like FaceTime, iMessage, and so on. Probably I forgot the "Find my iPhone". This now seems to cause me problems because I can not change the email address under Settings > iCloud ... on my iPhone. In this menu the email address / Apple ID is indicated at the top. But it can not be edited / edited?
Every now and then my iPhone ask for the password to my old Apple ID ... and it does not work with that password. How can I solve this?
How do I set up my new email address / Apple ID in Settings > iCloud?

In the menu Settings> iCloud> Account - I can not change the email address. When I press the e-mail address I come to the Account menu. There the Apple ID field gray, can not be edited. The password can however be edited.

  • Found an Option to Change Email of Apple ID in iTunes Store....

    Hello,
I found an option to change the primary email address of my Apple ID in the iTunes Store.
    Here's how...
    iTunes.app > Account > Apple ID Summary > Apple ID > Edit
Here is a screen cap of the screen where you can change the email:
Now my question is, what are the consequences of changing my email address for my Apple ID?  I have been wanting to do this for quite some time now and just found this option about 10 minutes ago.  If I were to go forth with this, what would happen to my purchases... apps, music, movies, TV shows, books...
Also, what would happen to the @me.com email address in the iCloud that's associated/connected to my original @gmail.com Apple ID that I actually would like to replace with an @me.com address.
Knowledge and advice would be much appreciated!
    Marcus

As far as I know changing the primary adress will not affect any purchases. Since it is the primary email, it should change any other Apple related accounts, eg: Game Center, iMessage, FaceTime.
Try searching the Apple Support website for more information under the iTunes section.

  • HT1918 Changing email address - Apple ID

I went through the step by step instructions on changing my appleID email and now when I go to iTunes the previous email shows up and when I enter the password it does not work.  What to do??  Just want to change the email I get correspondence from.

On your computer's iTunes you should be able to log into your account via the Store > View Account menu option and at the top of your account's screen there should be an edit link to the right of your id. If doing it on an iOS device the tap on the id in Settings > iTunes & App Store, tap 'view Apple id' on the popup, and you should be able to then tap on the current id on your account's page and change it. Or you can do it via http://appleid.apple.com
After changing it you may need to log out of the account on any iOS devices that you have (tap on it in Settings > iTunes & App Store), and possibly on computer's iTunes (Store > Sign Out menu option) and then log back in so as to 'refresh' the account on them

  • Need to change email on Apple ID and don't want to lose all my purchases!

I am trying to get iCloud set up but have an issue with my apple ID.  Somehow I managed to get two separate IDs.  My original ID, which has all my itunes etc on it is associated with my old email which used to forward to my current email, but no longer.  Presumably, when I realized the emails were no longer being forwarded, I clearly messed up and made a NEW id with my new email account.  In order to verify my apple ID for icloud, they want to send an email to the address that no longer exists!  I don't want to synch everything to the new email account because there's nothing there.  Is there a way to get everything onto my new email--either cancel it and start fresh or link the accounts?  Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

    As I said,
If they are still available from the App store you can redownload them by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • I've just received an email from 'Apple' saying that my apple id was used      to sign into iCloud on an iphone 5s.  I have an iphone 4.  It's asking me to sign in to confirm my details and change my password.  How do I know if this email is genuine?

I've just received an email from 'Apple' saying that my apple id was used to sign into iCloud on an iphone 5S.  I have an iphone 4.  It then asks that I 'click here' to confirm my details and change my password.  How do I tell if the email is genuine?

Apple will not ask you to click a link in an email. They may tell you to log in to your account to reset your password. Go to https://appleid.apple.com and log in if you ever want to change any information in your profile (or your password). And do not click the link I just posted; instead enter it into a browser.
You can verify the devices assigned to your account by going to https://icloud.com/find (again, don't click it), where you can see a list of devices registered to your Apple ID.
As a general rule, you should never click a link in an email or forum post without verifying it first. You can see where it goes without clicking it in most email programs and browsers by hovering your mouse pointer over it. On an iPhone you can check where it goes by holding your finger on the link (rather than just tapping it).

  • I have had to change my email address/Apple ID. my iPad recognisIes the change of id but on my MacBook Air, iCloud just keeps asking me for a password for the old email address/account. How can I get iCloud to recognise the new details? Help please!

I have had to change my email address/Apple ID. My iPad recognises the new detail in iTunes and iCloud but when I go into iCloud through my MacBook Air, it requests a password for the old email account which I can no longer use. There is no Option to be able to change this email/ID detail as I cannot get further than the password request. Can anyone help please - this is driving me insane?!

Go to System Preferences and click Sign Out, select Delete at all the prompts, then sign back in with the changed ID?   (Your iCloud data will disappear from your Mac when you sign out and choose Delete, but will still be in iCloud.  Provided you are signing back into the same account your data will reappear on your Mac when you sign back in.)

    Dear Apple support team,
I've already changed email for my apple id more than 6 months. But 2-3 months ago until now I've recieved and email to ask my apple id confirmation from me about 6-8 emails. I never confirm anything because I don't know, the link's attached, it's legal or illegal.

In my opinion, i think      "http://"   should be   "https://"  right?  Or Apple should show the link on your website  that we can find, re- check and click by ourselve. Or  Apple should do "How to confirm apple id" on your main page. ( in fact  i'm not sure you already done "How to" on your website yes or not, because I cannot find it)
The apple id is sensitive security, it's concerned personal security and any credit card payment so please understand me that's why i must to interrupt your team to help me to solve this problem. I'm scared my account will be blocked. Please advice me.

It is a phishing attempt to get your Apple ID and Password.
You should forward it to Apple : [email protected]

  • ATTENTION!! RECEIVED FRAUDULENT EMAIL PRETENDING TO BE APPLE!! I received an email informing of a purchase made on my account and telling me to change my password if did not purchase the item, which I had not. I have received valid emails from Apple

ATTENTION!! RECEIVED FRAUDULENT EMAIL PRETENDING TO BE APPLE!! I received an email informing of a purchase made on my account and telling me to change my password if did not purchase the item, which I had not. I have received valid emails from Apple in the past asking letting me know a purchase had been made and asking if I had made the purchase, but the item listed has alway been a purchase that I had made. Since I had received similar emails in the past, I didn't think anything of it. Because I had not purchased the item listed, I immediately clicked on the link in order to change my password, which has been suggested in authentic emails i had received from Apple in the past. The site I was redirected to was exactly the same as the Apple site where you go to change your password. I entered my userID and password and it stated a verification email would be sent, if it was not sent click "resend email." When I did not receive an email, after about 10 seconds I went to the Apple site and followed the SAME EXACT step on pages that were IDENTICAL to the FRAUDULENT website I apparently had just been at. When I clicked "Send verification email," I DID receive an email within seconds, which had a special link that brought me to a page where I could change my password, which I did. I later compared a legitimate email to the FRAUDULENT email and I DID FIND A DIFFERENCE, BUT IT WAS ALMOST UNNOTICEABLE unless you were really, really looking.  I doubt it would be noticed by anyone if not comparing it closely to a real email. THE DIFFERENCE WAS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE AUTHENTIC EMAIL, THERE WERE THREE LINKS THAT COULD BE SELECTED - My Apple ID/Support/Privacy Policy. ON THE FRAUDULENT EMAIL THESE LINKS WERE NOT PRESENT!!! Just today I received an email from Apple stating my password had been changed today. I did not change my password today. When I changed after getting the fake email, I did not think about my SECURITY QUESTIONS!!! If you forget your Apple password, you are able to answer the security questions in place of your ID and you get a confirmation email. Even though I changed my password within a one minute when I did not get a confirmation email with a link to change my password right away and I went dierctly to Apple's site, apparently it was enough time to take all the information on my account - INCLUDING MY DEBIT CARD NUMBER, WHICH HAD BEEN REQUIRED WHEN I INITIALLY SET UP THE ACCOUNT!!! Today I received a call from VISA FRAUD PROTECTION asking about strange activity on my account and stating they were concerned and wanted to ensure I had used the account. I HAD NOT, AND ALL THE MONEY IN MY BANK ACCOUNT HAD BEEN STOLEN!!!!! I am writing this in hopes that many people will see it and NOT FALL VICTIM TO THIS SCAM. Please pay close attention to any emails you supposedly receive from Apple - If the links "MY APPLE ID/SUPPORT/PRIVACY POLICY," PLEASE DO NOT ASSUME IT IS AN AUTHENTIC EMAIL FROM APPLE. I suggest you immediately forward the email to apple, which I didn't do because this happened days ago. Nothing was taken from my money that was already on the Apple account, and nothing had been taken from my checking account. I guess I assumed there had been something wrong with the link in the email directing me to where I could change my password, plus I had gone to the valid Apple website and changed my password for real, and I guess I was thinking that changing my password would prevent someone from being able to acces my account info. PLEASE DO NOT FALL VICTIM TO THIS SCAM AS I DID!!!!

No need for alarm. There are several folks a day posting like threads. Most folks know these phishing attempts for what they are and merely delete with prejudice.
To the bottom line... if you wish - and I am sure Apple will take notice - you should FORWARD the email to [email protected] and delete.

have a subscription to The Telegraph which I purchased before changing my email and apple ID.  How can I get iTunes to change it to current ID

Did you create a NEW Apple ID or did you change the email address for your OLD Apple ID? This will affect how you update apps in the future.
Anyway, go to Settings/iTunes&App Stores, log out, then log in with the new ID.

  • My iCloud mail account is messed up.  My Apple ID and iCloud ID are not the same.  My email address has changed. which I changed in my apple ID, but the iCloud is still referring to my old, non-existand account.  Can't guess passwords and it won't le

    Bottom line, I can'
t get iCloud messages on my Apple iMac, iPhone or iPad2.  I dropped my original email account and went to gmail.  I changed my Apple ID to this gmail address on the Apple Store, etc.  I've also changed the Apple ID password a few times.  This worked fine until this week.  I believe I can get game messages (not sure all were delivered), but not iCloud messages.  It asks me for the iCloud password, which none work, and then goes back to my old
apple ID and asked for a password.  It asks me to reset the password, which I click, but nothing happens.  How can I fix this so I know I'm getting all my messages?

    Hi rjt,
Sounds like you did not delete the iCloud account on your device before you changed your ID. You will need to do the following:
    1.     Sign onto Manage your Apple ID and change your Apple ID back to the old ID (this is temporary - do not verify it, do not change the password): Apple - My Apple ID
    2.     Go to Settings>iCloud and scroll to the bottom to delete the account. Use your current password when asked, follow the prompts to complete the deletion
    3.     Go back into Manage your Apple ID and change your Apple ID back to the new ID (you may need to verify it again)
    4.     Go back to Settings>iCloud and sign onto iCloud with the new ID
    Cheers,
