Changing email name (not email address) from received emails in mail progra

Is it possible to have a script change the name of the sender? I would imagine it would use the "extract name from" term from within mail.
I have a friend who's name is questionable and I don't want my kids to see it as it appears.

I was having this problem for the whole night with my wife's Ipad, which is configured with her yahoo email. Same error message through the Mailer Daemon when she tried to send to my yahoo email.
After multiple tries, I decided to bite the bullet and delete the email account from her Ipad and then re-add her email on the Ipad. Everything is working fine now.

In the old days, like 6 months ago, I could depend on being able to salvage an intended recipient's email address from a note they sent to me. Just click on the name in a received email, then open a "new" email under that address, bang out the message, and send it. Not any more. How do I do it? This seems like a really stupid change. Why does it require complication?

There are several ways. First is to double click the message and the message should appear on-screen with the complete address. Next is you will see a small down arrow like in my example below, click it and you will get the info you need.

Email names not in contacs when composing email

Hi,
When composing a new email (activesync). I see many different email addresses when typing in TO... but most of these names are not in my contacts list.
How can I remove certain names?
I'm actually trying to send emails to myself but there are six different addresses with my name... only one of the addresses works.. the others are invalid and bounce back (for instance, one of them does not have anything after the @ sign).
When I check contacts I have only one with my own name in it.
Any ideas how to fix this?

They are just suggestions from previous emails (you must have typed them in by mistake or received emails from someone with those addresses--possibly spam) and, unfortunately, you can't remove or change them. After a while they'll go away.

My email name is different when I receive emails

When I am receiving emails, it no longer has my name in the TO line, it now says Holidays in United State. I think it has something to do with Calendars but I can't figure it out???? It use to have my name in the TO line....

It sounds like the settings for your email account have been changed. On your Mac, you can edit the Full Name field to include your first and last name.

After I changed my gmail password my outgoing emails are no longer being sent from my gmail account, but are being sent from my spouse's account so that replies go into her inbox, not mine.

You may have a corrupt preference, in order to correct this open Mail - Preferences - Accounts and re-input all the preferences for the account. While they may look ok one or more may be corrupt.

Send list of addresses from received email into new group?

I got an email addressed to me and about 30 other people (all in the To: line). None of these people is in my address book. Is there some way to create a new group with all their addresses without first adding each one of them one-by-one into my address book? I know I can click on each name and add them with a couple of clicks, but I'd like to know if there is a faster way.

Thanks for the suggestion; I'll give the scripts a try. Normally I'm wary of scripts for core OSX apps (Safari, Mail, iTunes, etc.) because they can be a source of problems when a point update from Apple comes along. These seem fairly benign, though.

Apps are permanently tied to the Apple ID used to purchase them, and all future updates will require you to enter the password associated with this ID, whether you are currently using this ID for purchases or not. If you are being prompted for your sister-in-law's Apple ID when updating it means that there must be one or more apps on your phone that was purchased using her Apple ID. (When she synced with your computer it may have transferred this app to your library. It was subsequently synced to your phone.) The only way to stop the prompt for her ID is to delete these apps from your phone and your iTunes library and repurchase them using your Apple ID.

If it was setup using your iPhone and your Apple ID then as far as the iCloud team will be able to find out, you set it up. Passwords cannot be retrieved.
Change all passwords on accounts associated with your iPhone.

Hi, I had the same problem. I finally figured it out. Plug in the USB cord to your ipad, but beofre plugging it into your computer make sure your ipad is not in the locked or sleep mode. Once I did this, my photos showed up and started downloading. Hope that helps you!

Extracting all email addresses from On My Mac Mail

hi all.
trying to do a final organization here after porting to mac OS.
i am trying to extract all emails from my archived mail in the "On My Mac" section of my mac pro. this means that this data will no longer be accessible from my laptop machine or from my iPhone when traveling. in a lot of cases there will be incoming mail from recipients whom i /may/ not have replied to or whom i did not reply to within Mac Mail (i am coming from PC land and i have used Postbaox before ditching this software awhile back).
i realize that i have the opportunity to ADD emails from the Previous Recipients section of my Mac Pro and from my MacBookPro - however in the case of mail that i am archiving on the Mac Pro this option is not available.
can anyone help me get from here to there (having some kind of list of my important email addresses) so that i can go through this list and either keep it on hand or add the important ones manually to my Contacts? i would say that alternatively i would be happy to bulk add these to the Previous Recipients list on my Mac Pro but this data is already somewhat out of hand and the fact that it resides only on my desktop until i add the addresses to Mac Contacts (as does the Previous Recipients List on my MacBook Pro and presumably on my IPhone).

If you are lucky, you might be able to restore individual messages. To do it, open Mail and then, open the Time Machine application (in /Applications/Utilities). Then, choose the backup you want at the right and you will be able to select messages and restore them.
After restoring them, they will appear in "Recovered Messages" in the Mail sidebar, under "On my Mac"

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

try deleting and readding your yahoo accounts. Yahoo has been upgrading their servers for months now, and have been effecting users' accounts as they do so. I have two yahoo accounts and have had each of them mess up for a day or two before they start working again.
Chances are the issue is on yahoo's end. When mine messed up I simply accessed the mail via the web and safari until it cleared up.

Hold your finger down in that mail until the little blue bubble pops up. One of the options should be to select all. Choose that and all will be hilighted. then a pop up comes up to copy, choose that, open your destination and hold your finger down to get the paste dialogue.

Did you actually watch the movie? You get 30 days in which to view it and if you didn't watch it, that could be why you are getting that message. If you have watched the movie and you're sure that is has expired by now, contact iTunes Store Support and seek their help.

Highlight it and then right click, select Copy. then go to the new email you are writing and place the cursor in the TO field and right click, select Paste.
