Changing Face Assignments

I've just switched to Aperture from iPhoto and I have to say overall the experience is better. I've assigned names to faces that have been found by the system. Overall, it's done a better job than iPhoto. However, by accident some of the faces assigned to an individual are incorrect. I've found that changing face assignments is a tedious task at best. First, one has to choose an individual's collection of faces. Find the faces that don't belong to an individual and then choose no more than 3 wrong images. The system then focuses on one picture and then one has to carefully choose "Faces" on the menu bar or press the shortcut key "N". It then highlights the faces it has detected for that picture. If Aperture hasn't already crashed, you then blank out the name of the mis-assigned face. Then choose the right name and then press "Done". This is just too many operations to re-assign a name to a face! If you choose to do more than one picture, the system proves to be very unstable and often just crashes.
Apple: Please provide a better way to re-assign a misidentified face.
Your next release must fix this problem.
Thanks, and if anyone else has had this problem, please share your experience or better way to do it.
Peter

if you normally use the master socket then I would buy a filtered faceplate which will replace the one that you have disconnected.  it is a straight replacement just connect the wires on 2 & 5 there is no need for 3.  hub will only then work in this socket and no other filters are required
you could also try replacing the front plate but disconnect the bellwire on terminal 3 first and tidy up loose wire  this explains about bellwire

  • Undo/rescan "not a face" assignments?

Hoping for some help to correct my mistake, I'm a newby at Aperture.
I accidentally assigned "not a face" to bunches of pictures.
Is there anyway to undo do that?
    Redetect "not a face" faces?
Throw out/reset/redo all "not a face" assignments?
Delete face detection/assignment database entirely and start from scratch?
If you find yourself asking, "how can you make such a stupid mistake?" then:
I was quickly confirming multiple photos under Faces, I'd drag across a bunch, then just click on those that were wrong.
Very few times, maybe 3-6 times, I found a truly "not a face" picture and so I right clicked to assign "not a face".
All my pictures disappear and I was presented with a different list.  I'm currently having to work off a Mac Air which only has USB2 and an external drive to manage my library.  Thus, slow and slightly weird behaviors are not that unusual so it took me 3-6 times to realize my mistake.  I had assigned "not a face" to the entire group I had selected.
    What I learned from this:
It's a good tip to do group selection to use the clicking method to accept/reject pictures,
but think thrice before using the method in conjunction with right clicks (be aware of your selection).
    Thanks

I'm rescanning everything with "Detect Missing Faces" but I've read things that indicate that this will not work.
I suspect that navigating into the library from the finder and deleting the Faces.db file might do the trick for starting the face detection from scratch (perhaps after rebuilding).  I haven't tried that yet, and probably won't until I've tried everything else that is reasonable (and taken a backup).

  • Changing faces-config.xml after deploying ear file

    Hi,
What would be the steps to follow if we want to change contenets of web application configuration files (for example, faces-config.xml) after app.ear file has been deployed?
The app.ear file contains the faces-config.xml, and we are using Oracle AS 10.1.3.

  • PD-ORG: changing user assignments in a productive system

    Hi,
We get the following: in our productive system obviously it is prohibited to do any changes to customizing.  When in PPOME we change a user assignment to a position and try to save it, a message appears that the system is closed for changes. After cancelling this, the changes are saved correctly. This is very confusing to our maintenance guys.
Can this message be avoided (only for user assignments)>

with WFOBJ only tasks's agent assignment are out-of-transport
using CORR, everything else is open.
This is the setting that the SAP has programmed to solve this kind of requirement, having the agent assignment done in the production system, while maintaining the organizational model in another way (e.g. by ALE scenario).
Before 4.6B, only CORR was available.

  • HT204380 changing face time phone number

How do I change my Face Time phone number?

    Hi stagehand74,
The information below explains how Facetime works with your iPhone telephone number, and how to change the Facetime settings:
iOS 6 and OS X Mountain Lion: Link your phone number and Apple ID for use with FaceTime and iMessage
With iOS 6, your iPhone telephone number is linked to your Apple ID when you sign in to FaceTime or iMessage. This allows you to use your iPhone number with FaceTime and iMessage on other iOS devices with iOS 6 and on Macs with OS X v10.8.2 or later.
In FaceTime, choose FaceTime > Preferences. Your contact preferences should display under "You can be reached for calls at:".
How to unlink a phone number
To remove a phone number from an Apple ID, sign out of FaceTime and Messages on your iPhone. Sign out in the following locations:
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
Settings > FaceTime. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
This should remove your phone number from other devices using the same Apple ID with FaceTime and Messages.
If the phone number is still available on other devices after you sign out of FaceTime and iMessage on the iPhone, you may need to sign out of iMessage and FaceTime on all your devices, then sign in to FaceTime and Messages again on devices you want to use.
    Hope this information helps ...

  • Changing package assignments of many objects

I'm having to put a significant number of objects in another package, and I was wondering if there's a facility hidden somewhere that will change the assignment of any number of different objects.
    Any thoughts?

    hi,
in your system it is possible to mark some are all of the displayed objects from Sanjay Sinha's solution.
Then choose the menu [Objects] -> [Reassign].
You have to insert the new package only once in the popup and all the marked objects are changed.

  • Change workflow assignments to an existing order in Order Managemet

    Hi everybody,
can anyone please tell me how can I change the workflow assigned to an existing Sales Order?
I have changed the assignements to the Transaction Types but when i re-submit the wf activities i still get the old flow...
    Thanks in advance,
    Corrado

I do not think it is possible to change the wf associated with an order/order line after the creation of the order.
Only way out would be to cancel original order and create a new order. You can try copying to a new order and
it may associate the new wf attached to the transaction type.

  • Changing Calendar Assignments

    Hey all,
This one's been stumping me for a while and it would be great if someone could lend a hand here. Here's the situation, myself and two other coworkers are involved in multiple repeating projects of which we are interchangeably assigned depending on the day. What I've done so far is create a main calendar containing the repeating projects and three other calendars, one each of us. I was hoping to reassign individual instances of repeating projects to different calendars, depending on who is assigned the task. I have not been able to do this at all on my iPod and change the entire repeating event on my iMac when making the attempt there.
Is what I'm trying to do possible?

    Hi Bharathwaj,
I never came along any support for the Hijri calendar in SAP NetWeaver Portal. If you want to use it on custom portal sites only you should check this <a href="http://www.altawfeek.com/hijcon.htm">website</a>. There they use JavaScript to the conversion. View the source code of the website and check out the JavaScript functions: <b>GregToIsl</b> and <b>IslToGreg</b>.
You could probably create a template for your custom portal sites using the same logic.
    Best Regards,
    Martin

  • How do I change a port in Mac OS X Mountain lion

Apparently Logmein  makes use of port 2002 in mac OS X  Mountain Lion. I need to use that for some new accounting software. How  do I change the part in Mountain Lion and how would I do an install of  Logmein on the computer to use another port or how, with Logmein  currently installed do I change from port 2002 to some other port. The major question is how do you change port assignments in OS x Mountain Lion?
    Thanks for you help.
    Tom in Dallas

There isn't a generic way to do what you want.  Not on Microsoft Windows.  Not on OS X.
The ICANN registry of port numbers exists so that these messes don't happen, or don't happen very often.  So that there are no port conflicts among various applications, and there are ways to request ephemeral (temporary) ports, and (for some applications) to find out which port(s) the application happens to have allocated and is using.  In this case, it appears that folks at LogMeIn and with the accounting software didn't avail themselves of the ICANN port database.  They're using the preferences mechanism as a work-around for that.
Have a look at ipfw and pfctl tools here (see man ipfw and man pfctl at the Terminal.app prompt), and see if you can figure out how you're going to map just one local application that's opening 2002 to some other port, without disturbing the other application that's mapping to that same port (and colliding).  This is the remapping mechanism and akin to what can happen at some firewalls, and not the requested control over the selected port.  It's not set up to remap local application conflicts.
The selected port is either a configuration option within the specific tool, or it's hard-coded within the tool.  There's no generic registry of applications and ports.  That's what the ICANN port registry is for.
The worst-bad-ugly approach is to dump out the executable code, reverse engineer it, and patch the preferred port right into the code; to change the code without using the original source code.  Or some tool-specific configuration file or preferences setting, as and if available.

  • Mandatory Face detection in iphoto, MetaData, iCloud

When will I be able to I turn off Face recognition in iPhoto?
Apple needs to change Faces recognition in iPhoto from manditory to optional. I want to believe that Apple is an ally in protecting thier customer's metadata.
Given the National Security Agency's recently revealed surveillance programs, Big data's passive cooperation, iPhoto's default metadata preferences, and Apples push to iCloud through hardware and software product decisions, Apple needs to change this mandatory iPhoto function. Match company practice to customer expectation.

iPhoto has no 'default metadata preferences' apart from some of the Exif and IPTC metadata fields that it supports.
Faces supplies zero extra metadata at all. None. Zip, Nada.
If You add names to the Faces, then you are adding metadata. If you don't add names, then there is no extra data in the Faces function.
Without names, what does Big Brother get even if - and it's a big if - this data is being uploaded somewhere. All Big Brother can possibily know is that there is a person or persons, unidentified, in a photo that is taken somewhere. If you don't give it the location, then they don't know where that is. (Given the effectiveness of the facial rcognition scheme, it might also know there's a tyre, stone wall or flower in a photo.) But without the data you supply - i.e. the name or the location - they get no more information than if they can see the whole photo So, if you're concerned, simply don't use the Faces function.
Remember, if you don't put the data into the machine, no one can get it out.

  • Finder - Get Info - changing "Open With"

In the Finder, I accidentally changed the default application specified to open a .nib file. How do I change it back to <NONE>. It is a system file.
Powerbook G4 Titanium (DVI)   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

Since replacing the file had no effect, it would seem that you made the change apply to all ".nib" files, either by clicking the "Change all" button in "Get Info", or by agreeing to do this in a warning dialogue. One place these settings are stored is in the "com.apple.LaunchServices.plist" file in each user's "~/Library/Preferences" folder.
No guarantees, but try launching "/Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app" and entering the three commands below. The method depends on a command that isn't installed by default but will likely be present if you have been keeping up with your Apple updates and have left the contents of '/Library/Receipts' alone. It also assumes that the nightly maintenance tasks have been allowed to run:<pre>a='-c "Delete LSPrefsBindings:E\:nib" ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.LaunchServices.plist'
    sh -c "`locate PlistBuddy |xargs ls -lt |head -1 |sed 's/.* \([^ ]*PlistBuddy\)/\1/'` $a"
osascript -e 'tell application "Finder" to quit'</pre>You could also use 'plutil' to convert the file to "xml" format and edit the file with a text editor. The GUI way would be to install the "X Code Tools" and use "Plist Editor.app" to edit your user's "com.apple.LaunchServices.plist" file. Or to simpy remove the plist file, although this will remove all custom "Change all" assignments of applications for file types (actually, for this reason, it might be a good idea to back up the file first before trying the commands above).
