how changing material status in material master so
that moving average price will become a "display" field?
Actually is possible modify the valua and this is dangerous.

The material master moving average or standard price field values are tied to the Pricing Control field value (V or S). However, these values are open for changes only in first time creation mode and once you start processing using that material in any transction, it becomes greyed out automatically. You just can't change the value from MM02. However, FI team in general takes control over this value because it is a matter of costing. The price change subsequently, will be taken up during cost rollup process periodically by the same CO consultant in the project using transactions MR21 and MR22. Hope, this helps..

In OMSR, for your field change the field selection group as example 240.
Then click on the arrow on right side for 'field selection maintenance'
Now for this group, choose the radio button 'reqd entry' for the required field references.
So, for the material types those assigned with field refernce will get this field mandatory.

Plant specific fields in the material master for product move

Hi, SAP gurus,
My scenario is we are moving a existing product in US plant to Brazil plant. What are the fields in the material master that are specific to a plant that will change. For ex MRP controller will change from plant to plant. Like that can anybody please provide me a list of fields that i need to be looking at?

Hi Anusha,
First of all, list down all your materials those you want to extend to new plant.
a) Secondly, pay attention to those fields you will find "filled" in those materials at plant level.
b) MARC comes handy for you to analyse which fields are at plant level.
Intersection of fields with values between a and b are the ones you need to work out.

Bypass D-Chain specific status of material master

Hi,
Is there a way ( Copy Routine/ user exit) to bypass D-Chain specific status of material master which prevents creation of Delivery doc w.r.t a PO in STO scenario?
I dont want change the config setting for status to allow delivery creation.

Hi Kapil,
Threre are some material for which D-Chain status ( MVKE-VMSTA) in the materila master are set in such a way so that deliveries can not be created. We need to bypass this restriction for couple of delivery types. One of them is the delivery type used for intracompany STO.
I am looking for some way out like user exit so that I dont need to change existing config change for those statuses.

Tax classification field of the material master - Mandatory

At the "Sales: sales org. 1" view of the material, there exist the tax classification field of the material master. How can I make this field mandatory?

Select Field name MARA - TAKLV and click on the arroow sysmbol on the right against that line.
For Field Ref MM01 - select the radio button "Reqrd Entry".

In standard SAP it is possible to change the profit center at any time.
However this will create inconsistencies in your profit center accounting. Hence you should issue all stock first to a cost center with 201 movement, then change the profit center, then get the material back with 202 movement.
You need to make MM335 message an error message in OMT4 to allow a change only if there is no stock
If you dont follow this way, then you create inconsistencies in profit center accounting.
Because...you received your stock without profit center (actually it is a certain default profit center), if you then change the PC in your material, then each issue will be posted to the new PC, while it never had a receipt.

Change description of MVKE-PRAT7 field in SD material master

Dear,
Unfortunately I have issues with a translation of field PRAT7, but only in German Language.
I've did the translation via TCode CMOD - Goto-Text enhancements-Keywords-Change.
In our development and test system, the translation is shown correct. But if I check the material master in productive system, it still shows the old description in the German language. The English description is correct?
Do you have any ideas what the reason could be?

   Please follow the following steps.
--> Goto Transaction OMT3B.
--> Select either 01 or 21 screen sequence and hit on the Data screens folder on the left.
--> Select the Screen 09 for Sales: Sales Org Data 1 and hit on the Subscreens folder on the left.
---> The next screen will display in order the list of Subscreens for this screen.
---> Before proceeding further, you need to copy the subscreen that you want to change (i.e the
      subscreen where you want to enter the new field). You can identify the subscreen where you want
      this field by clicking on the View Subscreen button on the right for each of the subscreens.
      Create a new function group and copy the subscreen that you want to change. Make the necessary
      modifications and add the relevant logic in the PAI for the data transfer.
---> Change the name of the program from SAPLMGD1 to the custom program only for the subscreen
      that you modified. Also change the subscreen number just in case the new screen number is
      differrent from the originial one. You can again test the subscreen for desired results by clicking
      on the View Subscreen tab for the new screen you created.
---> Save, Exit and Test.

Material specific status in material master

We have a material A. in the material master for A, in the basic data ,the "X plant mat status is Z4 which means material discontinued. In the sales org tab for the same material, the "dis chain specific status" is Z1 which also means material under discontinuation.
But the issue is we are able to create and save sales order for material A.
i would like to know what is the issue. the system should not allow to create sales order. Also where are these material specific status configured and where is the control to block the sales order based on these material status.

the creation of sales order is not controlled with a material status, it is only controlled with customizing of sales status.
The sales status can be defined in IMG > Logistics general > material master > setting for central fields > sales relevant data > define sales status.

Material status in material master

Hi,
We have different type of statuses that can be maintained in material master like -
Distribution-chain-specific material status
Cross-distribution-chain material status
Cross-Plant Material Status
Plant-Specific Material Status
The settings for these are maintained as part of configuration.
Is there any possibility to further add some more control parameters in the statuses through development or customising?

Hello Mohit ,
What kind of control you are expecting through the material status ? We can do config and maintain new material status through the t-code OMS4.
Just to mention few of the control few of the control we can do from there are Message/Error if independent requirement is created for material , Message /Error if material is used in MRP, Message/Error if material is used in production order header, Message /Error if material used in WM transfer reqmt/posting change etc etc .
There are other plenty of option there which you can explore.

Proceed as below;
1. OMS9 - Here copy a new Field Reference key (Give Code of your Plant) from "0001" and do field selection as per your requirement.
2. Then go to OMSA, here maintain Plant with Maintenance Status "KDEVALBPQSZXCFG" and assign the Field Reference key created in Step 1.
Now for this plant, field selection will work as per the above field selection method.

Middleware settings to map CRM Z table fields with ECC material master flds

We want to create a Z table in CRM,this table willl have 2 fields External Material Group and Old Material Number.These 2 fields in CRM table are corresponding to same material master (MM03) fields in ECC.The changes to these fields done in ECC material master should be updated in CRM Z table.
I want to understand the middleware settings I need to do in order to map the ECC and CRM fields.

Can anyone please tel me in material master Accounting1 view,is there any way to change the standard price field immediately,once its created?When I go in change mode the standard price field is disabled.

Use MR21 Tcode and change the moving average price if u have a stock means no problem bcaz in the OBYC T code Cost (price) differences- PRD u have to give the G/L account and that value goes to that account. System Does not allow to change the price in MM02 Transaction. U must do it in MR21 only.
