Changing fill colour for partly transparent images

Does anyone know how to change the fill colour used for partly transparent images? I have a bunch of PNGs that I made for use as clip art, which I imported into iPhoto (that way I can use the media browser with Pages and Keynote).
Unfortunately, the images (which are black) are shown on top of a black rectangle both in iPhoto and the media browser. I've tried changing the background colour to both gray and black, but the 'fill' colour stays black.

There's no way to change it if you want to keep the transparency for use in other applications or web pages.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.

Problem changing fill colour after image trace?

I am using illustrator cc 2014 to trace a jpeg image. After tracing I want to change the colour of the resulting image. The default colour after tracing is black but the image fill colour is showing as a question mark and when I go to change the colour the whole artboard turns grey no matter what colour I choose. I know the document is in CMYK. Does any one know whats going on here?

Hi I'm still having trouble with this here are a couple of images of the before and after.

There are two problems with this, first is that its gone grey (I'm definitely in CMKY mode) and second is it did not fill the image in the way I had intended.
What am I doing wrong?

How can I change the colour for standard captions?

I work with Captivate 6. I want to change the background colour for the standard captions (hint/failure) etc. When I go the style manager, I can select a Bitmap with the colour I'd like to use, but Captivate doesn't display the colour. The caption is now displayed transparent?!?

If you want to change the default caption style in a new project (and in that project alone), create the new project and change the default caption style or clone the default caption style and set it as default. Already created captions can be forced to take on the new default style, using the Properties panel.
If you want to change the default styles for several future projects, use the Object Style Manager before opening or creating a new project.

How can I change the colours for read/unread emails on a Samsung S6?

The only difference between the colours for read and unread emails on a Samsung S6 is a very pale grey versus white background. Is it possible to change these colours, or font colours, so that the difference between the read and unread emails is more obvious?

Hm, I belive it has nothing to do with phone, most likely it's the email application that handles settings. You need to fire your email application and check the settings. Unfortunately at least in GMail app there is no way to change the theme, you might want to look for other email clients that offer customisable themes or simply more themes to select from. Appologies that I don't have any recommndations to make

Change one colour for another.

Quite simply I'd like to swap one colour for another: maybe to turn all black into red and leave the rest as it is...or select greens only and make them blue. I've found various ways to adjust and alter colours but usually the entire picture is altered not just one element of it (eg., Enhance > color > Hue/saturation) . I'm using Pshop LE but I think this would be a universal feature...can't seem to find it though! Hope you can suggest something...

It's available Photoshop Elements 6.0 and it totally did the job for me. Someone had scanned some text for me and a lot of the background was grey. In only two operations, I changed one colour grey background to white (actually maximum lightness) and the remaining colour grey to white. I didn't know there really was such a feature, just that I wanted there to be that feature, and I don't know that I'd ever have guessed where to find it. It took me about 3 minutes total to find the forums and find this answer and do what I wanted. Am I ever happy. Thanks for the information.

Changing the colour of part of an image

I have an image in a menu here (the red 'Supagard' one) that
I need to change the background of from black to the blue to match
the rest of the image :

I've had a rummage, and seen how to change colours by
selecting the area with the magic wand tool, and then using :
Filters > Adjust Colours > Hue / Saturation
But is there away to select a specific colour? (Or I guess
the other way around and check the hue / saturation values for the
blue background?

The 'Replace Color Tool' (one of the Bitmap Tools) is what
you are
looking for. After you select it you will be able to use the
eyedropper
to pick your 'from' and 'to' colors.

How to change the colour for round blue circle pin

I am using bing map on asp.net application, the default pin icon 'pin55light' which is in blue color is shown on the map. I am wondering if there is any way to change it to orange and make a size bit bigger?

The whole idea of the theme module is that it changes all the look and feel of the map. You can't override those. You are better off using a custom pushpin without the theme module.

Changing text-colour for links

I can change the text-colour on my web-pages for ordinary text, but not for links. Is there any way around this ?

Hi,
I have a JTable. Each column has its own cell renderer. One is the renderer having a checkbox, one is the renderer for a combo box etc. So I have a table of 5 columns.
The first 2 columns are have simple text data (jtextfields)
The Third column shows a combobox
The fourth column shows a combobox
The fifth column has simple text data. (same as first 2 columns)
So totally I use 3 custom tablecellrenderor's, one for plain text, one for combobox cell and one of checkbox cell.
Now In my fifth column I show error codes. Based on the error code value of 5th column, I need to set a different foreground colour of the entire corresponding row. How do i proceed.

I have made the changes in my Custom Table class ("MyTable.java"). But the output seems Buggy. Initially when the table loads the required table foreground is highlighed in Red. But when I start clicking elsewhere the other cells randomly becoming red and the default colour. How do I handle this.
Since My Project contains 6 files( of which SimpleTableTest.java is the main class), I am not listing all the files as it would become too big a post. I have zipped up the code and sending you the download link

Need to change screen colours for each system in the landscape

we are in need of having different themes for different systems in the landscape .
that is
if i click development system , the screen with 'theme1'
if i click quality system system , the screen with 'theme2'
if i click production system system , the screen with 'theme3'
how to configure this colour setting in accord to the system for all the users

Hi Susin,
You would do this by changing the parameter sapgui/theme for each system. It uses the Tradeshow theme by default as of Web AS 6.40. As long as the SAPgui itself is set to "System Dependant" then it should work fine.

Change background colour for iTunes 9 (70) on Mac OS 10.5.8

I want to change the background colour from white to black on iTunes 9 (70). When i tried using the iTunes preferences General Tab I did not get the option available to change the background colour.I tried looking for software updates as maybe iTunes 9 (70) is out of date but my Mac told me there weren't any!
This feature would be very useful to a friend of mine who is registered blind so any help would be appreciated lots. Thnx.

Thank you, that download installed without a problem. It also installed Safari 4.0.2, which still had to be upgraded to 4.0.3. Now iTunes 9 is happy and can access the iTunes store, so I can get my Podcasts again.

Had to force quit Reader XI each time I change the colour for underlining...

Was thrilled to know Reader XI offers the various options to annotate, but was really disappointed to experience a ultra slow response (and ultimately, made me force quit the entire app) upon a change to the underlining colour... Anyone out there has the same experience..? Any remedies to that apart from not using the function..?

Which operating system you are using? (Windows or Mac)
Is it happening with all the files.
Do you experience the slow response in any other workflow, or is it limited to the workflow that you have specified.
Few suggestions that you can try:
Please check the exact version for Adobe Reader XI. Open Adobe Reader - Click on Help menu and click 'About Adobe Reader XI'. Please note down the version. The latest version is 11.0.02. If you have anything below that, please Go to Help menu and click on Check for Updates to install the latest Update
Try Repairing Adobe Reader Installation. You will find this option in the Help menu for Adobe Reader. Help - Repair Adobe Reader Installation.
Please share the information so that we can help you in a better way.

LR changes the colours of my image?

Hi,
Just got LR 1.0 on my Mac book Pro and when I import an RAW file from my Nikon D80 i can see that after its done loading it changes the colours/profile of the image?? Im not using any of the profiles from LR when importing just the standard import from the camera to LR.
Anyone haveing any idea why this is happening?

You don't think it would be that hard to get ACR to better match the in-camera engine...
I understand if its not able to read the "special" in camera user settings, such as increase saturation, etc as that may be proprietary...
But it (ACR) already knows what type of camera you are using... It would be nice if Adobe would make it at least set to better match the out-of-box camera settings per camera... it would be a much better starting point than the flat, discolored images I see, IMHO.
Example... the reds in my Rebel XT RAW's always come up orange, both in LR and ACR.
