Changing Flash 8 serial key

Question

Well, here's my problem: I had the Flash trial for a bit, and
then later found out that a friend of mine had Flash. They offered
to let me use that copy, so I accepted. The thing is is that now I
want my own copy, and if I were to get my own copy, I would want to
use my serial key. The only problem is that when uninstalling and
reinstalling Flash, it doesn't ask for the serial key to be
re-entered. It just starts up as it normally would.
I have tried many different things to figure out what the
serial key is/where it is, and how to change. Certain things like
regedit and other programs that check PC info didn't work. I also
uninstalled Flash and used a program to find dead-end registry
entries and then clean them out. I ran the program and deleted any
I saw relating to Flash, and then reinstalled the trial version of
Flash, hoping that might work. Still it did not ask for the serial
key.
Is anyone aware of how it can be changed besides a whole
reformat?

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
At this point, I can only suggest that, if you don't have
numerous
Macromedia products, that you delete all Macromedia keys in
the registry and
try to reinstall the software. Also, delete Macromedia
related folders from:
C:\Documents and Settings\Username\application Data
C:\Documents and Settings\Username\local settings\application
data
C:\Program Files\Macromedia
That's the only way I know of to delete all things
Macromedia.
Before deleting this stuff, I would export those registry
keys to a text
file so that they can be replaced if something goes wrong.
