Changing fonts in web galleries....

there is still no way to change the text font in the web galleries in lightroom correct? for me that is the biggest issue with the software and i really hope they address this asap. i cant imagine what they were thinking when they were coding the web galleries and omitted that as an option. its not like changing the font is some revolutionary idea...

thanks for the link but it seems like that is only for changing the fonts in the lightroom app itself, it doesn't allow me to change the fonts of the web galleries that lightroom outputs... or am i missing something.

  • Font Change in Lightroom Web Gallery

    Is ther any way to change the default font in the lightroom web galleries (specifically the HTML-based gallery)? I feel like it's probably a simple change in a menu somewhere that I missed

    In a HTML based page the fonts shown will always be dependent on the fonts installed on the end users computers. Whilst many LR galleries have the ability to select a font group that the respective end users machine may display by editing the page css style, I don't think the default html gallery that comes installed with LR has this.
    If you want to make the change yourself you will need to recode the exported gallery files yourself. In the index file a line such as
    body,td,th {      font-family: Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif; } should do it

  • Fonts in HTML web galleries

    I couldn't figure out what was wrong with the fonts in the HTML web galleries. They looked small, but more than that, I realized they looked nasty. Especially after making the Gallery 2 gallery, it really looked nasty. So I looked at the css file and the default font is helvetica. I always use arial by default for web pages, helvetica, verdana, etc later on the list, but I really don't know why. I went into Photoshop and my helvetica font is an Adobe Type 1 font and of course arial is a Truetype font. Within Photoshop both looked good, and in fact what I typed laid right on top of each other -- they looked exactly the same to me in Photoshop. But on a web page, the helvetica looked scrunched and crowded, and, well, nasty. I tried it on Firefox and IE and they looked exactly the same. It also looks bad inside Lightroom itself.
    I don't know if I concluded anything in general because surely it depends on the system that views the web page, and my system may be defective in some way with respect to Adobe fonts.
    However, I will change the master.css to have arial first. I don't have a Mac to test on, but I presume they will either have a functional arial or the helvetica will work properly on web pages.
    I bring this up because maybe others have seen font behavior that they didn't like in the web galleries.

  • Frustrated with web galleries

    I think I'm about ready to install Gallery on my website and forget about LR's web galleries. I want such simple changes to the defaults, but it seems to be impossible.
    I want HTML galleries, not flash. The HTML galleries have the "title" on top and the "description" below the pictures. I thought I could live with this, but I use this as a title and more info. My own eyes were hopping back and forth from top to bottom. That is just unacceptable. The flash galleries, however, have the two together, not separated by the picture.
    Forgetting about LR's galleries would also allow me not to have my various metadata fields all mushed together. LR allows you to select multiple items to put into the "description", but no way to format them. Yes, I can put commas, but there are often empty fields, and then it's a mess.
    I don't like the font sizes either, but I can fix that by changing one .css file after creating the gallery.
    I tried to take the xslt and and xml files extracted from the module, but more files are needed and I don't know which or exactly how to configure them. Even more frustrating because I have found the lines that need to be moved/modified.
    I've found descriptions for starting from scratch and other people's flash galleries, but not how to twiddle with the existing galleries. Such small changes I want to do!

    Me too. I'm taking a different approach to things, though. Rather than
    creating a gallery that produces lots and lots of identical pages, each
    containing different images and indexes and so on, I'm working on a gallery
    that doesn't produce any HTML at all (or, rather, produces very basic HTML
    so I can see the images in the Web Gallery Preview). Instead, I just let it
    produces the XML file describing the images and (of course) the image files
    themselves (in three sizes: thumbnail, display, and full). I've written a
    JSP-based application that can read the XML file and produce the appropriate
    pages (that is, I'm treating the XML and image files as a database).
    The benefit of this is that if I want to change how my site looks or
    behaves, I simply change the JSP and *all* of my galleries change
    instantly - I don't have to go back and regenerate them. This also frees me
    up to use any technology I want to for the display (right now it's HTML,
    since I despise Flash, but if a new tech comes along, I can easily adopt
    it).
    The downside is that I can only put my site on a JSP-capable server. Most
    people don't have access to those (because most ISP's only provide straight
    HTML and maybe a few canned scripts), but anyone who can put JSP on their
    site could probably use this. In fact, I imagine a similar system could be
    written in PHP (perhaps that's what Gallery is - I've only glanced at it),
    ASP/.NET, CGI, or any other server-side language.
    If anyone is interested in learning more about this, I'd be glad to
    open-source it when it's ready (or share ahead of time if you're willing to
    take an unfinished project). I don't get to the forums as much as I'd like,

  • "Tell a friend" email for web galleries- black on black for PC users

    Whenever I send out an email to friends with info for a web gallery, everyone who uses a PC (most everyone I know) gets the email and the text is black on a black background and they can't read it. I have to add text to the email with the username and password. When I cc myself on the email and get it on my Mac, it's white text on black background.
    What's going on here? It's been this way for 4 web galleries so far.

    Dave:
    Try using the Tell a Friend option in iPhoto's toolbar instead of the option of the online gallery. It will look like this except I've changed the font and color of the lower URL line which you can do with this method.
    Do you Twango?
    TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
    I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Adding Editable Web Galleries

    I would like to add a web gallery to my website but Bridge CS4 does not allow the editability i would like. ie I would like to add a navigation menu and change fonts and add text so that the web gallery html syncs with the rest of my site.
    Any idea if this is possible? Can i make one in Fireworks?
    Also is it possible to create a web gallery as a content item that i can add to an already existing html, like you can insert an FLV file?
    Cheers.

    Neither the Bridge nor the Fireworks galleries are very compelling solutions, both are a bit of a mess.  Fortunately there are much better solutions.  For really easy commercial solutions you could turn to http://projectseven.com/  There solutions are the most point and click way to go. If you are more adventurous and don't mind a little bit of a learning curve you should definitely look at all the outstanding image gallery solution using jQuery ( and Ajax platform)  Most are open source and some are really amazing!
    Just do a Google search on: jQuery image gallery
    Enjoy!!

  • How to change font size in dreamweaver

    hello?  this is really a bit of overkill for a simple question.  could someone please help with this?
    and while we're at it there's a fly i want to kill with a sledge hammer

    If by changing font-size you mean in your web pages, the answer is use CSS with values in px, em or %.
    body {font-size: 100%}
    p {font-size: 1em}
    h1 {font-size: 3em}
    h2 {font-size: 2.5em}
    h3 {font-size: 2em}
    h4 {font-size: 1.5em}
    and so on....

  • Web Galleries in Bridge & CS4

    It appears the templates for Web Galleries in Bridge are different from those in Photoshop CS4.  This seems odd, comments welcome.
    Is there a way to Save a Custom Web Template in either Bridge or Photoshop?  If one creates a Custom Template (in Bridge) with Custom Colors, etc., that same Template will appear if you later create a new Web Gallery.  But once you change the Template you lose the custom colors.  Is there a way around this, i.e. save the custom colors?  Thanks.

  • Change font size on macbook pro 15 retina

    HELP... Cant see the words
    can someone please tell me how to change font size on macbook pro 15 retina... I have this HUGE screen but the font on the screen is SUPER small.... can someone help me

    Sorry, OS X hasn't evolved to a scalable UI type for hard of seeing users. If you drop the resolution your type gets blurry.
    However I have two solutions.
    1: You hit System Preferences > Accessibility and set a control key for zoom/in out, set the zoom to where the pointer is at and get a third party scroll wheel mouse. This way you hold the control key and can zoom in/out anywhere the mouse is pointed at.
    2: You follow my User Tip here and use Firefox with the associated add-ons.
    Since Firefox is customizable, your able to create larger menu type and have web pages automatically zoomed (full page, graphics and all) to your minimal needs.
    Also FF will remember your window size so your not having to resize that each time you open the program. There is also a Full screen option.
    Since web browsing takes up a lot of time on machines, at least you have that part licked. If you use web based email like GMail, since it's in a web browser that is zoomed as well.

  • Making Bridge web galleries searchable

    I'm sure this will have been asked before on the forum, but after scrolling thought the first four pages of topics I can't see it raised anywhere.
    Is there an easy way of adding a search engine that will interrogate a file's metadata when creating a web gallery in Bridge?
    The company I work for is looking to set up a gallery of 2,000 graphics to begin with, which will probably grow to 10,000 graphics before too long.
    Bridge is great because it converts Illustrator vector files to jpegs (the organisation is Microsoft Office-based, and most staff cannot read vector files). But obviously the resulting gallery has to be searchable. It seems odd that Adobe hasn't included this option as standard when creating web galleries.
    I'm a graphic designer by trade, and although I can do a little bit of coding I'm certainly no expert in that area. So I do need a simple solution.
    Thanks in advance for any and all advice offered and sorry if I'm bringing up an old chestnut again.

    It sounds like your html files are assigned to fireworks instead of safari. Open your file browser (windows explorer or mac equivelent) find an html file and look at it properties. In windows this is where you can change the app that is the default. I am not sure how on a MAC, but hopefully it will jog your memory or someone else will answer.

    Hello, I have Yosemite and Safari 8.0 and cannot figure out how to change fonts in Safari and leave the fonts in other applications unchanged? And I don't care about the menus, but the content of web pages. Could someone please help me solve the problem?

    You don't without using custom css sheets. The web site developers specify the fonts to be used.
