Changing Fontsize in iCal

I would like to increase the font size in iCal. How do you do such a thing?
Thanks in advance...

Van,
Unfortunately, changing font size in iCal is not a user option.
I suggest that you provide Apple - iCal - Feedback.

    How to change fonts in iCal?  I can't harly read my calendar-tiny print size.  How could I change the font size?

    Your question really got me thinking.   Actually, I don't think you should feel like an idiot at all.  I think it is Apples failure that they made this difficult.  Seriously, who would ever think to press Command and arrow to switch months?  The little arrows next to the word Today are so small and inconspicuous that I remember having this very same question when I started using iCal too.
    So, here is what I did to make it easier for my wife that uses iCal too.
    Open System Preferences, Keyboard, Keyboard Shortcuts Tab, and finally Application Shortcuts.
    Click on the Plus symbol under the right hand pane.
    Select iCal from the Application list
    Add two shortcuts:  One named Next and the other named Previous and press your desired Keyboard Shortcut.
    I assigned the left arrow and right arrow for these tasks.
    Now it makes more sence for someone that is not used to Apples idotic way of doing things. ;-)
    I use keyboard shortcuts all over the place.  Actually, sometimes it gets me into trouble when I use someone elses computer and my shortcuts don't work.  I blame their computer for it and forget it was my "tuning".

  • HT2513 Can I change colors in ical? How?

    How do I change colors in iCal? Specifically using OS X Mountain Lion.

    You can do that by going to iCloud, select Calendar. Then you'll see on the left side where it says Calendars (under the cloud mark) click Edit, and you can add other Topics and customze them to the color you want:)

    Hello,
    Are you talking about the dropdown-list for a Fill-in-the-Blank Question? I'm sorry, there is no way to change the style of the items in the dropdown-list. You can change the other Text Captions: Title, phrase, ... but not the dropdown list.

  • I can't change events in iCal 5.0.

    On my MacBook OS X 10.7.1, I can't make any manual changes to iCal events.  When trying to edit an event, any typed change is temporary and the calendar reverts to its previous data right before my eyes.  Seems as though iCal can't write or save my changes!  Can I delete iCal and re-install it, hopefully resetting any files & permissions to their correct settings?

    Hi John,
    Thanks for the tip.  I created a new "temp" account with system manager/administrator privileges like my MacBook account (with which iCal doesn't work), and tried syncing the calendar from my iPhone to this temp account.  I merged the calendar data and successfully added/deleted events on the calendar, both from the MacBook and my iPhone.
    So iCal works OK with a new user account, but not with my original account.
    I'm pretty sure that I've messed up the permissions on the iCal files associated with my original account, thus causing the problem.  I was moving files from my PC to the public folder on the MacBook over the wireless network when I discovered that the files I'd moved to the public folder couldn't be opened or modified because the permissions were insufficient.  When I tried to assign read/write permissions to these files on my original account, I must have also clobbered the permissions of the iCal files!    (Any advice you have on this issue would also be appreciated!)
    Can you tell me how to re-assign the proper permissions to the iCal files for my original account?  Where are these files?
    Thanks for your help - Tom

  • How to change months in ical

    Friends,
    I'm running ical in lion on an imac.  How do I easily change the months in ical?  I know you can swipe if you're on a laptop, but I'm on a desktop.  What do I do?  I'm sure it's easy, but I can't figure it out.
    Thanks!

  • Can I change the way iCal displays events in Month view?

    I don't like the way iCal in the new OS displays events in Month view.  It's counter intuitive to have the time of the event be at the far right and grayed out.  I find myself staring and slowly scanning down the display just to find out when I have to be at an appointment.  I wish they had stayed with the other display, not only was it much clearer, it also word wrapped so you could see the entire description.  I have blank space at the bottom of the day, and at the same time missing information because of the lack of wrapped text.

    Hi Daniel,
    The option you have there is to change the calendar of the event (currently the "University" calendar in your screen shot) not the colour.  It is the calendars that have colours in iCal not the events.
    To change the calendar colour in OSX 10.7:
    Click Calendars (in the top-left corner of the iCal window), and select the calendar by clicking its name in the Calendars pop-up list.
    Choose Edit > Get Info.
    Choose a new colour from the pop-up menu in the top-right corner of the Info window.
    To customize the colour, choose Other, and then make your colour selections in the Colours window.
    I hope that helps.
    Best wishes

  • Possible to change appearance in iCal, particularly the To Do Items?

    Is it possible to change the appearance in iCal? I'm speaking about mostly the background? (I know you can change the "calendar" colors, but I'm looking for something else.)
    1. For example, it is extremely difficult, almost impossible for me to determine in week view or month view which day is "selected" unless I look at the mini calendar in the bottom left (which I don't necessarily have open all the time). The day which is selected, is nearly imperceptibly slightly darker, but I can't tell. Is there a way to change the background color to provide more contrast?
    2 And, is there a way to change the color, contrast, readability of the To Do Items in the list on the right? The dates are very clearly labeled with the colors, but the actual item of what I need to be doing (the whole point of it) is in gray font and my eyes are not drawn to such a pale layout for reading. Are there customizable options?
    3. Lastly, when I go to "Today" in day view or week view, it always starts the view of each day at 12/1AM and I can only see from 12AM to noon (I have preferences set at show 12 hours) and then have to scroll down to see my appointments in the afternoon. I never have anything scheduled from 12AM to say, 6AM, so its annoying to have to scroll down every time I go to the afternoon. Is there a way to set it to start the view at an hour other than 12 AM?
    Thanks for all and any suggestions/answers.

    Update on (3) - I have just noticed that John Maisey has a wee script for doing it.

  • How to change color of iCal calendars??

    I'm transferring my calendars from my old G4 ical version 1.5.5 to my new imac ical version 3.0.2. I'm trying to change the colors the program assigned to my calendars. I'm a designer and we have kinda weird priorities but, my calendars LOOK horrible. Under "help" it gives the advice I've reprinted below but, there IS no "info button in the bottom right corner"!
    Please help me reestablish aesthetic equilibrium.
    "Select the calendar in the Calendars list.
    Click the Info button in the bottom-right corner of the iCal window to open the calendar’s Info window.
    Choose a new color from the pop-up menu in the top-right corner of the Info window.
    To customize the color, choose Other, and then make your color selections in the Colors window."

    Welcome to the discussions, spet.
    Right click (Control-click) the calendar you want to change in the left pane and select Get Info. There is a colour selection button to the right of the calendar name..

  • Dynamically Change icon (like iCal icon) (iPhone OS 3.1)

    I'd like to be able to change the icon in a tab bar to reflect the current date...rather, I'd like to have a background image, with the date as a number on top of that—basically what the iCal icon on OS X does. Is there a way to create the number on that icon, or is this not possible?

    musicwind95 wrote:
    when I create the new tab, how do I know which one it's replacing?
    I'm not sure you've seen the view hierarchy yet. Are you sure you set the "View Mode" switch to the Center position in the MainWindow.xib window (see the instructions for displaying the small-icon view hierarchy in my May 22 post).
    If you're looking at the hierarchy (with all the nodes of the tree expanded), note each view controller owns a UITabBarItem object. This point is often misunderstood, since we see the tab bar items on the tab bar. But each tab bar item is a child of its controller, and the address of the tab bar item is stored in the 'tabBarItem' property of that controller. So when we replace the tab bar item in this line of the example:
    - (void)awakeFromNib {
    self.tabBarItem = tabItem;
    We're setting the 'tabBarItem' property of 'self' to the address of a new tab bar item. Therefore we're changing the tab bar item for the controller which received the awakeFromNib message. If that controller is connected as the first child of the tab bar controller, we'll be changing tab bar item #1. If that controller is the second child, we'll be changing tab bar item #2, etc.
    Of course if more than one view controller is an instance of the same custom class, e.g. FirstViewController is the class for both the first and third controllers, the tab bar items for both #1 and #3 will be reset when the respective controllers receive the awakeFormNib message. In that case we'd need a way to know whether 'self' was the address of the first or third controller. That could be done in several ways. For example, we could tag each controller's original tab bar item in IB. Then we might do something like the following to ensure the item replacement code only runs for the controller object which owns tab bar item #1:
    - (void)awakeFromNib {
    if (self.tabBarItem.tag == 1) {
    // replace tab bar item
    Once again, the above if-condition would only be needed if the first controller and one or more other controllers were of the same class.
    Would this code be better off in the app delegate or the view controller?
    The code belongs in a method of the view controller which wants its tab bar item to be replaced.
    I've created the tab bar in IB (or rather, I started with a Tab Bar template), so I don't have a view controller for the tab bar itself.
    Referring again to the small-icon view hierarchy in the MainWindow.xib window, note the tab bar is connected directly to the tab bar controller. The tab bar controller is the controller for the tab bar.
    ... In at least two of the tabs that I'm working in, I'm displaying a table view that leads to a navigational hierarchy. How would I set that up?
    This time it's essential to be able to see the small-icon view hierarchy in the MainWindow.xib window. So please follow the instructions in my May 22 post in case you haven't done so already. Next, follow these steps (which assume tabs 3 and 4 will each bring up a table view under a nav bar which is controlled by a nav bar controller):
    Add a new UIViewController subclass in Xcode for the tab 3 controller. Check both Options so the new class will be a subclass of UITableViewController, and a matching XIB file will be created;
    Name the subclass ThirdViewController (name it whatever you want, but the class will be referred to as ThirdViewController here);
    Open MainWindow.xib, make sure the XIB window is visible (Window->Document) and its View Mode switch is in the Center position, then expand the small icon tree so you can see all the view controllers under the Tab Bar Controller;
    Drag a UINavigationController object into the XIB window, and drop it onto the Tab Bar Controller icon. If you only had two controllers to start with, the Nav Controller object should now be in the last (3rd) position. If you already had a third controller, drag the Nav Controller icon to place it under the second controller. The Nav Controller icon should now be in the third position;
    Expand the Nav Controller subtree, and select the Root View Controller icon;
    Open the Identity Inspector and set the Class of the Root View Controller to ThirdViewController;
    Open the Attributes Inspector and set the Nib Name to ThirdViewController;
    If you checked "With XIB for user interface" when making the ThirdViewController class in the first step, ThirdViewController.xib should already be setup correctly; i.e. File's Owner will be set the ThirdViewController class, the 'view' outlet of File's Owner will be connected to a Table View object, and the Table View's delegate and dataSource outlets will be connected to File's Owner;
    Open ThirdViewController.xib, select the Table View and locate the Simulated User Interface Elements group;
    Set Top Bar to Navigation Bar. This optional setting will paint a dummy nav bar in the Table View editor window and cause the size of the Table View to be adjusted to fit. The dummy nav bar is just a placeholder for the real one which will be created at runtime. You can't place controls on the dummy bar; it's just to help you see how the screen will look;
    Repeat the above steps to add a nav controller at position 4, making a FourthViewController class for the root controller;
    If you now have too many tab positions, you can delete each extra controller by selecting its icon and selecting Edit->Delete.
    That should complete the project skeleton, and you should now be able to Build and Go. You won't see the table views though, until you set up the data source methods in the respective controller implementations.

  • How to change color of iCal event, without changing the calendar.

    I have my work Exchange calendar imported to iCal.  When I want to change the color of an event in iCal, it actually changes the event to a differnet 'calendar' and therefore no longer shows up on my work calendar.  This wouldn't be a problem, excpet my secretary can no longer see the event on my work calendar that shows up on her PC.  So how can I change the color of 1 event, say to 'Important' or 'Must Attend', without changing the calendar?

  • Changing fontsize of fieldnames in ALV ?

    and some other questions
    1 ) Is it possible to change the fieldnames in an alv report.
    we have for instance 24 fields for 2 years
    the fieldname is 01-2007 till 12-2006
    only the width of the field is larger then the amount of hours filled in. with printing the report not everything can be put on 1 page .
    is it possible to make the fontsize of the fieldnames smaller ??
    2) is it perhaps also possible to combine a few fieldnames with one header ?
    let's say I have 3 fields , total , planned and difference . is it possible to put a fixed header above this 3 fields ?
    3) is it possible to write a footer which can be fixed to the allignment of the alv fieldnames ?
    ofcourse all valuable input is rewarded
    kind regards
    arthur

    Yes it is possible to change the font size of the ALV Grid.
    Once the Grid is displayed, then click the button on the Top Right Side on the Application Tool bar. In that you have Font. Click on that and set the required font.
    It is not possible to combine the field names of 2 or 3 fields to combine into a single name.
    Also, a footer can be written in the ALV Grid.

  • Changing fonts in iCal

    I use iCal 2.0.4 and wonder how to change the font and its size in the month calendar.
    PowerBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

    I too would like to know how to do this.
    I'm hoping someone has a technique. Even a command line entry via Terminal would be better than nothing.
    Hard for me to believe that Apple has not given the user any ability to control the font, or it's size and style, in any calendar view on screen.

    Hi,
    I have created an PieChart with a Legend. The FontSize of the

    The Legend is displayed but only with the standard fontsize

    I hope you can help me. Thanks in advance.

    The problem is based on a bug that was deferred (
    http://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FLEXDMV-1656).
    There are several workarounds, but the simplest is to set the
    fontSize on the LegendItem type selector, like this:
    <mx:Style>
    LegendItem {
    fontSize:24;
    </mx:Style>
