Changing from Old PC to New PC with iPhone 3G?

Hello, everyone... I have a 3G iphone. I recently bought a new PC and want to get rid of the old PC... my query is how to I transfer my iPhone from the old PC to the new PC so that the new PC become the main sync PC. Can anyone help me?

Transfer your entire iTunes library from the old PC to the new PC, or from a backup of the old PC. It is a folder in your Music or My Music folder. Do this before launching iTunes on the new computer, or, if you have already launched it, quit it before doing the copy.
Download and install the latest version of iTunes (10.4.1) to the new computer.
Open iTunes on the new computer and Authorize it in the iTunes store.
Open iTunes on the old computer and DEAUTHORIZE it in the iTunes store.
Connect the phone but DO NOT SYNC (to be safe before connecting it go to iTunes Preferences, Devices, and check the box to not automatically sync).
If you have purchased music or apps on the iPhone that are not in your iTunes library choose Transfer Purchases from the iTunes File menu.
Go to the Info tab and set up contacts and calendar sync to a desktop application.
Put at least one contact and one calendar entry into the desktop apps.
Sync.

• Best way to go from old pc to new pc with my itunes

I have just bought a new computer with os 8 what is the best way to transfer my itunes from my old computer to the new one?

Hey jshrews1,
Some things to consider which will assist in which direction you want to go. Are you going to be updating the OS when you do this migration? If you want to update the OS, say to 2012 R2 standard, you will have to do the migration, namely
the first method. If you are not going to update the OS, then the second or third method will work for you.
For the first method, there are plenty of technet articles that can help you. https://technet.microsoft.com/en-US/windowsserver/jj554790.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396 is
a great resource for migrating to Windows Server 2012 R2.
For the second method, keep in mind you are moving hardware, so you want to make sure the BMR restore you perform is able to have new drivers installed in it for the new hardware. If you cannot push new drivers into the BMR image, you may (probably
will) experience issues with the restore, and the running of the server on the new hardware. If you can push drivers, RAID controller drivers would be the biggest worry, then you should be able to do the BMR, and have a working server at the end
of the restore.
For the third method, are you going to boot the physical to the VHD, or place it as a VM in Hyper-V? I would recommmend Hyper-V, and if this is the case, you will need to build the hyper-V host first, before you do anything with the current
production server.
Which ever method you choose, good luck with the migration. Remember Proper Planning Promotes Peak Performance, so make sure you document all the steps you want to take before you start, this way you know you will have hit everything you want.

• Moving music from old mac to new mac via iPhone

I have synced my iPhone with my iMac since I got it (July 07). I now have a Macbook and I want to transfer everything from my iMac iTunes library to my Macbook. Can I do this with my iPhone without messing up my iPhone. I have about 250 songs and few ringtones that I need to move to my Macbook. I also have about 40 photos and lot of contact information on my iPhone. All help will be appreciated!
I have both songs I bought off iTunes and songs from cd's, if this helps.

No. The iphone is not a storage device. It is designed not to allow this.
You can use migration assistant to move everything from your old Mac to your new Mac. I have done this and it works great.
You can transfer itunes purchases, however. In itunes, with iphone attached, click File>Transfer Purchases.
Photos are optimized for viewing on iphone and are a reduced quality. Like music the photo sync is one way - computer to iphone. You can e-mail them to yourself one at a time. They will be of reduced quality.
Again, Migration Assistant (included with your Mac) is intended for this very thing. Why not use it?

• Migrated from old Mac to new Mac with Lion, iPhoto 6 still here, can't update

Hi, I just migrated from an old MacBook to a brand new MacBook Pro. The Apple Store did the migration for me. For some strange reason, iPhoto 6 is present on this Mac, even though it should have come with iPhoto '11. I understand that I should be able to install iPhoto '11 from the App Store, since this Mac is entitled to it, but it only shows up as a $15 purcahse instead.
Does anyone know how to get the App Store to recognise that this Mac shipped with, and is entitled to, iPhoto '1?

First, get rid of any old copy of iPhoto you have on the new computer. Log into the App Store using your Apple ID. Click on Purchases icon. At the top you should find the three iLife apps with an Accept button to click on. Then you can download iPhoto without having to pay for it.

• How do I transfer my Quicken 2004 data from old MacBook to new Imac with Mountain Lion

I want to transfer my Quicken 2004 (upgraded to 2006) data from MacBook running OSX 10.5.8 to new Imac running Mountain Lion with Quicken 2007 Lion. How do I do this? I thought from what I've read on line that all I needed to do was upgrade the quicken to 2006 and then the data would be readable by Quicken 2007 Lion. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

OK: This information is VERY helpful! Note my comments below:

Here is what I'm doing step by step:
Open Quicken 2006 (it did automatically convert the Quicken 2004 data) -- GOOD!
Do not do these steps
I went to File> Export> All
Named the file "Copy of Quicken Data.qif" and saved it to the desktop of my MacBook.
At this point if I send the file as is it would not open on the other end saying that Power PC apps are not supported.
I discovered that if I go to File> Get Info in the Finder window before I send it and change the setting "Open with" from "Preview" to "Quicken 2006", that the file would be recognized by the new computer.
Compress the converted Quicken 2006 data file by Control-Clicking on the converted Quicken 2006 data file and it should save with a .zip extension.
Send the automatically converted and compressed Quicken 2006 data file with the zip extension I send it to myself via email as an attachment, I save the attachment to the desktop of the Imac. Uncompress it by double-clicking it.
I open Quicken 2007 Lion
Go to File>Open File... Import>From QIF
Select the converted and uncompressed Quicken 2006 data file attachment that you saved to the desktop of the iMac and then uncompressed. "Copy of Quicken Data.qif"
It begins to download, then I get a warning
"Quicken is unable to import "Copy of Quicken Data.qif" becasue the transaction displayed below is too large... it goes on to say that there is possibly too much text in the split line detail etc.
It should open in Quicken 2007 for Lion/Mt. Lion
Thanks for your time, any insights would be much appreciated.

• Bringing an old version of CS5.1 from old mac to new mac with Mavericks, and it wont open. Having trouble uninstalling it.

Hey guys, so as I said, I have CS5.1 in the hard-drive of my old computer that I connected to my new one and I successfully brought it over. However, when I tried to open it, an alert came up saying "error 6". I talked with an support person and he recommended me uninstalling and re-installing it again, but when I tried that it said that there were errors and said to download the Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner tool, which I did, but it still not helping the situation.
This is kind of a specific predicament, feel free to ask any sort of questions, and I would love some help from anyone, thanks!

You need to upgrade to 10.6.8. The Snow Leopard 10.6 DVD should still be available from Apple for $20. You will have to call Apple Customer Care 1-800-692-7753 or 1-800-676-2775 to purchase it. It may still be in the Legacy Products list. The App Store which is required to download 10.7 or 10.8 is part of the 10.6.6 update.
If they no longer have any in stock you will have to buy it from eBay or Apple resellers that still have stock. But you will have to pay a premium since the DVDs are no longer being made. Snow Leopard DVDs are already up to $100 on Amazon.

• Cloning Snow Leopard from old iMac onto New iMac with Mountain Lion.

Hi all.
My old late 2006 intel iMac (2.1Ghz, 24" white) packed in a few weeks back (most likely GPU fail, but that's another topic!).
I've picked up a good deal on a second hand machine (funds wouldn't stretch to brand new model, but iMac definitely required):
2.7Ghz, 2011 i5, 1TB, 4gb RAM (will increase that) running mountain lion.
Ran a few tests on the old machine and the Hard Drive looked absolutely fine (was new just over 18 months ago) and could be accessed via another machine.
That was running Snow Leopard (upgrade from original OSX back in 2006) and easily ran FCP and Logic Pro post upgrade to SL.
What I would like to do really is clone my old hard drive (and I have a time machine back up on an external drive) onto this new machine. However, I'm not quite sure whether I'd lose Mountain Lion (if my old s/w such as Logic Pro 7 and FCP suite will run ok on ML I'd like to keep it as I quite like it.
Not having any discs with this iMac (Mountain Lion not requiring them), would I be able to re install Mountain Lion if I'd cloned a Snow Leopard drive onto it?
Apologies if this is an obvious question!! If I could still run FCP and Logic successfully on Mavericks, I might even upgrade to that also (not sure yet!).
Given the price of the thunderbird cables I'll be using a FW800-FW400 (cost 4x as less) to transfer. I'll probably use 'super duper' to clone.
Am I along the righ lines folks?
Many thanks.
somapop.

I only mentioned partitioning because you indicated that you wanted both Snow Leopard and Mavericks capability on the newly acquired iMac. Of course, you cannot have both flavors of OS X on the same hard drive unless it is partitioned to keep them separate.
Once you have Snow Leopard in one partition and Mavericks in the other, "dual-booting" is simply the process of determining which flavor or OS X will be operating by using the Startup Manager in System Preferences before you reboot, or holding down the OPTION key while you do reboot.
The disadvantage to this approach is that you cannot have both Snow Leopard and Mavericks running concurrently. To have that capability, you must install Snow Leopard Server into a virtualization program such as Parallels running in Mavericks and then they can run concurrently:

• Changing from old product to new - what happens?

I am just wondering I have upgraded my old BT account from the old Unlimited Infinity 2 product to the Totally Unlimited Infinity 2 product (no traffic management)....
Checking web it says completed...
Checking my router stats it hasnt disconnected / reconnected....
Should the router not have disconnected when changing over from the old product to the new?
Or do I have to reboot the router?
Or am I still on the old product?
Solved!

Its just a change to the Ellacoyas at BT to change your traffic shaping. Try a Glasnost test in peak hours and see if it says your shaped.

• Changing from old account to new account but want to keep apps and data.

Is it possible to sync my data from my iPod to the same iPod but using a different account.
For example, account number 1 has my current data; I now have account number 2. I want to switch my apps and related data to the same iPod under the new account name. How can I make the switch?

I have a similiar issue but with a slight difference. My account originally was an AOL account and I had a few songs purchased under that account but since have switched to an apple account. Since then I have upgraded from a "mini" to a 3rd gen iTouch and also have several computers authorized. My issue is that I have "lost" 31 songs when I synch my iTouch to iTunes (the original songs purchased on the AOL account). When I synch I get an error message that I am "not authorized to them on this computer, and to authorize the computer...". This computer is authorized. Help!

• How to recover old purchases from old pc on new pc with new i tunes

i bought movies and stuff and i got a new pc because the other one crashed and now i wanna put it on itunes on my new pc

The official policy on music/media purchases is that you only get one download and it's up to you to maintain a backup against loss: iTunes Store: Purchased content can be downloaded only once
The licensing of Purchased applications allows for them be downloaded over again, see this article for details: How to redownload purchased applications from the App Store
If you have an iPod that still has any of your purchases on it you'll find details in this article on how to transfer them to the computer: iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
Failing this, you could try contacting iTunes Store Customer Service and you might be able to persuade them to sanction a second free download. There have been occasional reports in the iTunes forum of this happening, however just be aware that they are not under any obligation to do so. If you click on this link it'll take you to the support/contact page, from there click on Music Purchases then the Lost or Missing Items option, from there click on "Email Us": Customer Service - iTunes Store Support

• Regarding transfer of data from old pernr to new pernr

Hi Gurus,
here i am with scenario, transfer data from old pernr to new pernr with out using actions type.
it is better can anyone tell me the function module for the above scenario.

Hi,
What do you mean by new pernr?
Is the employee rejoined the same company in same country? - Then can change the employement status of the employee in IT0000 to active and the load other required data for this use REHIRE action. This will with only old pernr. (there is no new pernr concept. employee is just rejoining the same company in same country)
or if you have to use different pernr, then use to alteast use hiring action to create new pernr. I believe you are doing that . If you need to use old employee data from old pernr, then connect old pernr record with new pernr record using Reference Personnel Id concept of IT0031.
Please read the SAP document on help.sap. and go ahead.
If it is for different country also you can use IT0031.
I can copy paste the text from help, sap but it would look like junk. It better you and read through the document to understand the concept.
Then let me know if you need any help and do provide feedbk.
Good luck

Thanks,
