Changing gif Ect. attachments to Tif, jpeg or PDF files for pc openings

Some of my PC friends ask if I can convert my attachments so that they can open them on their PC Window systems. I think it can be done simply but I have never seen anything that tells me how. Can anyone help me out, IT would be very much appreciated.
Thank you very much Warren

Hi John:
It was an Email with the .gif attached that I FORWARDED to the pc user who said he couldn't open it & could I send it in any of the other formats. I use (mail.mac.com) for incoming , & outgoing mail server smtp.mac.com I have it set for "plain text format"
Your discussion led me to mail help. It says to attach a window- friendly file to a single message, click Send Windows Friendly Attachment in the in the Attach dialog for that message. My question is, will it work the same for Forwarded messages ? I appreciate your patience.

I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 plus I create PDF files for work some are scan pdf docs. When I install Photoshop Elements 10 it DOES convert all the PDF files to Photoshop Elements-10 Docs. it even changes and shows the PSE-10 Icon. So I am alway installing PSE-10 or uninstalling it. If I send the  PDF file that has been automatically converted to a PSE-10 the person I send the file to can not open it because they do not have PSE-10. What can I do to stop PSE-10 from converting my PDF files? Don't tell me to upgrade PSE-10 I tried their on-line program and  it is too advance for a hobby photographer like myself and their Help Desk is impossible to reach.

    Hi,
Can you please share the logs?
You can use the Adobe  Log Collector tool (Log Collector Tool) and share the corresponding zip file @ [email protected]

  • Photoshop exported jpeg/psd/pdf file choppy/overly sharp in inDesign CS 6

    Hi everyone,
I am using inDesign CS 6 and when I placed my image (tried it in jpeg/psd/pdf version), my image becomes very sharp and the quality was significantly degraded. In the screenshot below, the file is opened in both Photoshop and inDesign CS 6. Left is Photoshop and right is inDesign. You can see how the quality becomes horrible.
What did i do wrong? i used "Place" in inDesign to import the image.
    Thanks

In photoshop you are looking at the actual pixels, in ID you are looking at a lower-resolution screen preview. Do yo have the highest quality preview enabled? That will help. View > Display Performance > High Quality Display (the default is Typical, whchi is lower resolution). You can change this in the prefs to be the new default, or set it on an image-by-image basis.

  • Trouble opening jpeg and pdf files.

I have a fully current version of Photoshop (ICloud).  When attempting to open some jpeg files and pdf files, they remain ghosted and will not open.  I think it may have to do with the settings in the 'open' window but i don't know what to do.  ?????

…and no one knows how to help you until you provide details.

  • What is the recommended tool to convert all of my email and their attachments in one stroke to pdf files in the same folder structure that emails are stored in

I have thousands of emails creatively stored in a host of sub folders. I would like to see if anyone knows of a tool that I can point at TB and convert all of my files into a similar file structure with the attachments embedded into the emails. I don't want much I realize. I bet there is a tool out there that will get me close.

I don't know of a way to produce pdfs in a simple way (probably with a pdf printer driver), but if you export or save messages as eml files, the attachments are embedded in the emls, and emls can be read by most email programs. Besides saving through Ctrl-S, exporting complex folders to eml format is probably best done with [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/thunderbird/addon/importexporttools/ ImportExportTools].

  • Entourage won't open e-mailed Jpeg or PDF files

Hello, I'd appreciate your advice with this problem.
Entourage can't open Jpeg's or PDf's sent in through e-mail, either in the Entourage application or when saved into Pictures or Documents, claiming Preview can't read them or there is a file error. I walked through it with a Mac support person and we found it is not a Preview problem, as Preview can read PDF's opened when downloaded directly to desktop. Any suggestion on ow to deal with this without having to call Microsoft?
Thank you very much. - Sharon

Try rebuilding the database. If you like, you can make a copy of your current database to the desktop first. Go to your user account at ~/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office 2004 Identities/ and copy the folder Main Identity. Now if anything goes horribly wrong, you can always get back to where you were.
Close Entourage if it's running. Hold down the Option key and launch it again. In the Database Utility that comes up, select your database at the top. Main Identity will be the only one if you have only one email account set up. Choose the radio button for "Rebuild database" and click Continue. Quit when it's done and launch Entourage normally.

  • I can't open PDF File Attachments

    Hello,
I use the environments Windows 7, MS Office 2010 and Adobe Reader 11.0.09.
In the perferences on the categories Trust Manager I had actived the function: PDF File Attachments: Allow opening of non-PDF file attachments with external application
Now I'm trying in a PDF document to open a Word or Excel file and get the error message: Acrobat can not open the file attachment Because your PDF file attachment setting do not allow this file type to be opened.
And I can just open Word and Excel files.
If I open the PDF file with Adobe Acrobat 11.0.09 then I can do that.
    Someone has a idea.
    Regards
    Erdem

    Hi Aadesh,
I had actived the Trust Manager -> 'Allow opening of non-PDF file attachments with external application'  on Acrobat and Reader 11.0.09.
I can open the non-PDF files with Acrobat but not with Reader.
    Regards

  • Saving playlist made in windows to print in jpeg or PDF format

In mac os x when printing CD playlist, one has the option to save as PDF file for later use.
How can one save a playlist made in windows as a PDF and or jpeg file?

You need to install a PDF virtual printer. There is lots of free ones. I've used pdfcreator.com and it works fine. Once that's installed as a printer, highlight the playlist in the iTunes window, go up to File in the menu bar and select Print. When the box opens up, select the PDF printer and then Print Be aware that the software has to convert each page so it might take a little time for really large libraries.
At the moment, I'm having trouble with my PDFs and I suspect it's caused by the latest version in iTunes. The artwork looks fine in preview but comes out a black square in the PDF. Up until the latest update, it's worked fine for years

  • Cannot generate GIF file into PDF file

Use Acrobat 8 professional to create a PDF file from html. However the GIF image is not generated in the PDF file. JPG file is OK. All the html, jpg and gif files are in the same directory. The GIF image can be viewed if the html file is opened by IE.
    Here is my html file:

All the HTML and GIF files are under the same local directory. If I use IE to view the HTML file, the GIF images are loaded and displayed. The page can be printed into a PDF file with Adobe PDF writer (I thought it should be Acrobat Distiller 8). All the images (GIF and JPG) are printed too.
However, when I use "Convert current web page to an Adobe PDF file" in the IE tool bar or "Create a PDF" in the Acrobat tool bar, the GIF images are not built into the PDF. The JPG images in the same directory are built. It is strange.

  • Macros in Acrobat (Changing "smart quotes" to straight quotes in PDF files)

Is there a way to do macros in Acrobat? We need a macro that will change all of the smart quotes in a pdf file to straight quotes so that they will convert properly when we create the final version of a form that goes to our Xerox printers. We have a macro in Word that does this, but aren't sure how to do it in Acrobat.
    Thanks for the help!
    Ken K. - 2191

This would be extremely advanced programming for Acrobat; there is
automation and something a bit like macros but it can't touch the page
contents. It would have to be a plug-in in C/C++, and it is
complicated by font encoding and subset issues.
The subset issue would probably be a killer. In many, perhaps most,
cases the PDF file that uses smart quotes will have a font that
includes ONLY the smart quotes, and left out the straight quotes
    because they weren't needed.
