Changing home screen wallpaper

I just updated my 8GB iPhone to the new iPhone 4 software. How do I change the homescreen wall paper?

If you have an iPhone 3G, that's all you get, I'm not sure about the iPhone 3GS, but I suspect it gets the home screen wallpaper.

IPod Touch 2gen iOS 4 Can't change home screen wallpaper

I just updated my iPod Touch 2 generation to iOS 4 and I was excited about changing the home screen wallpaper, but when i went to change it, that option wasn't there. Is there some reason this feature is not available on the iPod Touch (or mine at least)? I am confused and disappointed..

You never could change the background... At least, I never could!
You can change the picture for the "home" screen, unless I'm mistaken. This is the screen you see when you click on the iPod waking it from stand-by. You'll see the "slide to unlock" slider, and your image in the background, but that's it!
Now, here's the "thing"... Granted, I've not been using it for a couple of months, so correct me if I'm wrong. Behind all the icons, the background had the typical "space" image. Dark, with red gassy clusters and stars... The same default image from OS X. Or, maybe I'm going crazy, and it's always been solid black.
After I ran the update, I did the same thing as everyone else... Tried to set my background, only to find it isn't supported on the 2g. I was surprised to find it solid black though. Were did my star picture go?
So, please let me know if I'm imagining the old starry background was there, or if the update has sucked it away to blackness.
(Otherwise, folders are good... That is all.)

IPhone 3G - Change Home Screen

I have been searching iTunes to see if there are any apps that I can use to change the home screen on my 3G, is this actually possible? I have search apple.ca, but there is so much information out there, I virtually get lost.

When setting photo as lock screen/home screen wallpaper, quality is reduced

When setting a photo as the wallpaper for my lock screen/home screen the photo quality is dramatically reduced. This appears to be an issue since updating to iOS 8, as I have not changed my home screen wallpaper yet since updating, and when setting the same photo as my lock screen now, there is a noticeable difference. This only seems to be a problem when using landscape photo. Anyone else had this problem?

This is apparently a bug in iOS 7. Take a look at the posts to the right under "More Like This". Several users have come up with creative workarounds for this. Hopefully it will be fixed soon in an upcoming release!

Setting Landscape Home Screen Wallpaper Without Zooming In

I have an iPhone 4s IOS 7.1.1. Is there a way to put a landscape/horizontal photo (from my camera roll) as my home screen wallpaper without it zooming in all the way and filling the home screen? I want it to still remain landscape (so the whole photo is visible).

I know on Zedge Mortb when i'm previewing Wallpapers they Will pull in & out if i press on the Screen but once i set them as a Permanent picture they no longer do that. Interesting in what the OP has and i have ever tried a Launcher but they do have a Bunch a Settings that you can Change.. b

How can you change this? The only option I can find is "Wallpaper" which changes the lock screen.

Do you have a 3G or 3GS?
I don't believe the option to set a home screen wallpaper is available with iOS4 for the 3G.

Is it possible to use the feature for customized home screen wallpaper? My daughter has iPhone 3GS and it works for her, I have 3G and can't seem to use that feature after updating to OS 4.0.2. Am I doing something wrong or is that feature not available on my phone?

I tried that and that is what initially started this. I wanted a new wallpaper for my home screen and it didn't work so I reset it. The wallpaper is now zoomed in, I can't zoom it back out, and I can't change it to the new one I want. Plus, recently I had reset it and it stayed at the Appe logo and didn't move and I got scared that I'd never be able to use it again, I tried random things and it turned on again. I think I was just lucky so I don't want it to happen again. And yes I did look up how to fix it but it was really complicated so I just did what I mentioned.

Lock Screen vs. Home Screen wallpaper (iPad 3 with iOS7)

Please help me understand wallpaper difference for the lock screen and the home screen. While testing the colors and brightness, I changed my personal wallpaper for one of the Apple wallpapers. Then I lost my photo. AppleCare said it was because I had changed the wallpaper on the lock screen! How is that possible when the screen is locked??

Can't change home screen background

I have downloaded and installed iOS 4 software and have an iPhone 3G. When I try to select a picture to save as wallpaper it doesn't give the option to set it as my home screen background. Is this feature not available for iPhone 3G? If it is available how do you get it to work?

I have the same iPhone 3G (the original iPhone) with the new 4.0 Software.
You should be able to save your own picture as iPhone Wallpaper.
Go to your iPhone Photos, iPhone Pictures. Tap the picture you wanted. On the bottom left of your iPhone screen, tap the boxed arrow icon. tap "Use as Wallpaper".
2nd way to set iPhone wallpaper: First make sure the Picture is in your Photos on your iPhone. Then go to your Settings app, Wallpaper, iPhone pictures. Then you should see all your pictures that are saved on your iPhone 3G. Tap on the picture you want as your Wallpaper. Tap Set.

Settings screen unavailable after changing home screen

I've just tried to change my home screen using the settings menu and one of the preloaded images. It didn't change the home screen, and now when i go back to the settings screen all I can see is that image. It won't respond to the select or cancel buttons. Everything else is working fine, but I'm panicking without access to settings. Help!

Try closing the Settings app completely and see if it then works when you re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Settings 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Settings app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
