And answered in the docs.
Which docs? Well, that depends on the VERSION of the app server. Not the BRAND as you specified. (Assuming 10g R2, 10.1.2.x, you would look under App Server 10g R2 docs at http://tahiti.oracle.com, click on the System Management tab, and look at Chapter 8 of the "Oracle Application Server >> Administrator's Guide"

I believe that starting with 9.2, you have to specify different passwords when you install (can't be the default).

    Hi
I have  Cisco Meeting Place Express 2.0 installed on server. Meting Place uses Linux (Red Hat) as base operation system. Please tell me how I can change host name and domain name for Meeting Place Express application to integrate it into corporate domain infrastructure.
    Thanks in advance!!!

    Hi
Thanks for your attention for my humble problem.
I have performed Meeting Place Express configuration through the “net” command.
But now unfortunately I can't connect to meeting place through web browser. I just get blank page.
Though I can reach the server with help of ssh. I think my DNS works properly because I can resolve the ip address of  cumpxvoice .uclab.com and cumpxweb. uclab.com with help of dig command.
    Have you any idea?
A lot of thanks in advance!!

Here I have printed the net configuration output of Cisco meeting Place Express:
    [root@cumpxvoice root]# net
This is the MeetingPlace Express network configuration utility.
Up to the point where you save changes, it is safe to hit ^C to get
out at any time, in which case nothing will have changed.
    1) List current configuration
    2) Configure Ethernet port 1
    3) Configure Ethernet port 2
    4) Configure service bindings

  • How to change host name or host ip in AIA after installation

    Hi,
we have AIA11.1.1.5.0 and O2C PIP installed.
we need to change host name used in AIA to some different value.
Could you please suggest what all steps are required for this.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Bob

    1) Make a full backup of your XI 3.1 system (both database and file repository)
    2) Change the hostname
    3) Create a new SIA with all defaults servers using the CCM. Make sure that you instruct the CMS to use the same database connection as before. I ould advise you to change the default CMS and SIA ports.
    4) Run the "Update objects" command in the CCM on the new SIA
    5) Stop the old SIA and change the ports for the new SIA and the CMS to the default values (if required)
    6) Remove the old SIA in the CCM
    7) Go into to the CMC and try to delete any remaining servers from the old SIA.
Please note that after completing the above workflow you have to reconfigure some of the servers' settings again in the CMC

  • How do we find instance name in ORACLE 10g

    Hi All,
How do we find SID name in Oracle 10g
    Thanks in advance
    Pandiarajan

    Apology accepted.
But yes, of course I was harsh (not at you, actually, but at the plonker who thinks he can tell me that 'echo $something' is "not right").
Do you know how many questions could be answered here if people weren't forever debating perfectly acceptable answers? If people actually stopped to read what had been written before deciding to add their tuppence-worth? If people stopped to think, "well, that's not how I would answer it... but it's good enough".
I see so many threads here where 58 people dive in to a thread to say, 'Me too'. Another 42 will dive in to say, 'that's not right' when actually it is. And another 137 or so will usually chime in to say nothing very much except to demonstrate that they didn't understand something that was explained a lot earlier on quite clearly. Threads go on and on, when actually all that was sought originally was a simple answer to a technical issue. God knows why it happens.
I have no problem at all being asked for clarification. I have no problem at all being corrected and having someone point out that actually that parameter doesn't exist, you made a typo, that's not the command to achieve X. When I am technically wrong, I would expect nothing less. But where so much of my time gets wasted is demonstrated in this thread perfectly. I answered the question in one post. It might not have been a perfect answer. There are many different ways of coming up with the answer on Windows, for example, and yet I didn't mention the registry at all or the Control Panel/System applet for checking environment variables once. And yet, despite all of that, in answer 1 there was sufficient information to make the OP happy. But no, that's not enough to shut some people up (and I am again not referring to you at this point).
I don't know what it is. Some sense of, maybe, in a democracy my opinion is as good as yours even if it's entirely unnecessary, potentially confusing and adds absolutely nothing to the outcome? A desire on the part of some people to boost their post numbers?
Too right I'm harsh. I am results-driven. I am here because I want to help others. Not because I think my opinions deserve a hearing even though the answer was posted ages ago. When I see something that looks like the opposite of that -grandstanding, look how clever I am, my opinion counts too- yeah, it annoys me somewhat. And largely because I usually end up having to untangle the confusion caused by unnecessary "contributions" from others.

  • SID Name in oracle 10g

    Dear Experts,
how I can find SID name in Oracle 10g databse, which i forget.
    thanks in advance

On Unix/Linux, under $ORACLE_BASE/admin you should have a subdirectory for each SID. If the DB is active you can also do something like this
    $ ps -ef | grep smon | grep -v grep | cut -f8 | awk -F"_" '{print $3}'
On Windows you should have a service OracleService<SID> for each SID.

    Hi,
Do not change the hostname after the installation, if you need to then you have to perform system copy.

Your Ethernet connection and your system hostname are not going to work,
if you don't have a compatible network adapter.
You won't connect to anything, and the OS can't associate its FQDN,
    without hardware that works.
Have you reviewed the HCL, and compared it with your hardware?
    http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/hcl/
You may need to install 3rd party drivers for the NIC,
or you may need to buy a replacement card that is compatible.
Boot the system. From a terminal window, as root user, do ...
    # ifconfig -a <enter>
Does the output from that command list anything in addition to the virtual loopback adapter?
Copy and paste the complete output back here into the forum thread,
so that others can see what you are seeing.
If the loopback LO0 is all you have, then you're going to have to fix that
before going any further in this discussion.

  • 10.5 server changes host name when changed to be member of 10.4 OD Master

    Hi,
I have a Xserve with 10.4.11. This is my working OD master hostname: AAA, FQDN: AAA.domain, realm DOMAIN. Now I have a PowerMac G5, hostname BBB, FQDN BBB.domain, where I install 10.5 server.
When it comes up as stand alone, the hostname is BBB (FQDN BBB.domain), but when I then connect it (as domain member) to my OD master, it promts me to say that "AAA" is a used hostname and that it changes hostname to" AAA (2)".
In my DNS it is still identified as BBB.domain, and it is bind to the realm as BBB.
Why does it act like this?
Subsequently I can't get kerberos to work and SMB does not want to be a member of the domain (always get back to standalone instead of becoming member of the domain).

Here comes a bit more on this one. I waited and maybe this had to do with having a OD master in Tiger and the OD member on Leopard. But now both are in Leopard. And things are the same.
I have thou been studying the Console after some tips. And I'm changing the host name in Server Admin/Network to BBB (what it should be). And it seems to work fine. Name of the server changes where supposed to (what I can see). And in Console I can se that the administration tool changes host name in a variety of places.
    And now I wait.
If I do nothing (the network is pretty small), nothing happens. But after a while, I login with for example Remote desktop the followingapears in Console:
    +Jan 3 12:58:02 emil mDNSResponder[30]: User updated Computer Name from AAA (2) to AAA+
    +Jan 3 12:58:02 emil mDNSResponder[30]: afpovertcp.tcp. service renamed from "AAA (2)" to "AAA"+

    +Jan 3 12:58:03 emil mDNSResponder[30]: mDNS_SetFQDN - hostname unchanged+
"AAA (2) to AAA" may as well be "BBB to AAA". But I'm very surprised over that the logg claims that "User updated Computer name..." For all I know, I haven't. And note in the middle here that the mDNSResponder changes to AAA (which indeed is used - it's the OD master!!!), discovers that the name is in use, and then changes to "AAA (2)".
But why does it at all initiate a change from AAA to "AAA (2)"?
Why can't I call the server BBB?

Please helpOr, you could use Rapid Clone -- Rapid Clone Documentation Resources For Release 11i and 12 [ID 799735.1]
Run preclone, change the hostname at the OS level and in the hosts file then run postclone.
Remember to clean FND_NODES table as per (How to Clean Nonexistent Nodes or IP Addresses From FND_NODES [ID 260887.1]). You may also need to run cmclean.sql as per (Concurrent Processing - CMCLEAN.SQL - Non Destructive Script to Clean Concurrent Manager Tables [ID 134007.1]).
