Changing iCloud password before enabling lost mode

Hi!
I recently lost my iPhone, and the first thing I did was to change my iCloud password.
However, after that I realized that there is a lost mode that you can enable remotely, and now I activated the lost mode to lock the screen and display a message.
My question is, since the device now couldn't log in to my iCloud account because I changed the password, will the lost mode work?
Thank you very much

No.

If you enabled lost mode, that means the device did not show up in the tracking system when you logged into iCloud.  If it is offline for any reason, there is nothing you can do to it remotely.  You would have to wait until or if it ever does come back online.
At this point, I'd assume it is gone.  If the person who has it knows your passcode to swipe to gain access to the contents, then your information is already compromised by now.

I have lost my I phone5 amd I have enabled lost mode. But still I can't find out where it could be and I cloud search gives offline signal. If the thief turns on my phone is it possible to find out my phone or given any signal for me? is it possible for the thief to use or sell my I phone even it is on the locked mode by ICloud?

If it is turned on and your lock request is able to be fulfilled, a confirmation email will be sent to your Apple ID email address. There isn't any known way to bypass Activation Lock on your phone so no one will be able to use it. More information on Lost Mode: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2700

  • HT4968 Changed my iCloud password and have lost all calendar entries, how do I get them back?

I changed my iCloud password while working on my PC desktop and now I have lost all my calendar entries on my iPad and iPhone apart from repeat appointment entered prior to the change to iCloud.
How do I get entries back?

If you backup your iPad, the entries may be in your backup but only the entries as of the date of the last backup will be in there. You can try restoring from a backup which will also restore everything in the backup onto the iPad. You can't just select the calandra entries to be restored.

  • How to change iCloud password on a remote Mac?

I use iCloud and Back To My Mac (BTMM) to access some of the computers I have overseas. Everything was fine up until yesterday when I had to change my iCloud password. I now have lost access via BTMM to those remote computers as they need to have the iCloud password updated in the iCloud panel in their System Preference (and the Back to My Mac option has to be disabled/re-enabled to have it restarted).
I have remote SSH access to those remote Macs (all running Lion and in one case Snow Leopard), so I have a working SSH shell on them. But I cannot figure out how to update the iCloud password that is stored on those Mac via command line. I can reboot them if needed of course remotely, I'd just need to update the password used for the iCloud services...
Having someone walk to those Macs, login with my account and have them enter the password for me is not really an option, as to do that I'd have to give them both my Mac's account password and my new iCloud password, which is not going to happen :-) In addition, some of the Macs are used by my parents and in-laws, with their computer skill being limited to knowing how to open Safari and the Mail app. They wouldn't be able to help in anything technical.
So... is there another solution other than buying a plane ticket to go overseas and do it myself?

In case anyone wonders, I was finally able to update my iCloud password ont he remote computer. The key was SSH.
Issue this command to connect via SSH to the remote Mac:
    ssh remote_computer -L 5800:127.0.0.1:5900
This forwards all traffic from port 5800 on your Mac to port 5900 (the VNC/Screen Sharing port...) on the remote Mac.
Then open the Screen Sharing app from your Mac. From there, connect to:
    localhost:5800
This will actually connect you to the remote Mac, even though your iCloud password is wrong on the remote Mac. Now you have GUI access and you can login into your account remotely and update the iCloud password on the System Preferences on the remote Mac.

  • Changing iCloud password after sending erase signal

I lost my wifi-only iPad the other night and it did not have a screen lock password enabled, but it was connected to my iCloud account and "find my iPad" was turned on.
After I sent the "Erase" signal to the iPad, I thought it would be a good idea to change my AppleID/iCloud password to protect my account, but after I did it I had a 2nd thought that by changing the password I might have made it so that the iPad wouldn't communicate with my AppleID anymore (the ID didn't change, just the password).  I tried to change my password back, but of course you can't do that because Apple locks out old passwords from reuse :-(
So, does anyone know if the Find-my-iPhone will work if the AppleID password that was stored on the device when lost is different from the password currently set for the AppleID account?
I haven't gotten the reset signal back, so it seems strange that someone would have picked up my iPad and never used it online.
    Thanks
    Angelo

    No.

  • If I have enabled Lost Mode on an iPad via the Find My iPhone App what is able to be accessed on the iPad should someone steal it and try to use it?

I would like to know what is accessible on an iPad that has been stolen and Lost Mode has been enabled via the Find My iPhone App.

[1] Did I lose the ability to track the iPad now that I've selected to Erase it?
[2] Or can I stop that since its "Pending"?
[3] Also if there is a way to access the iPad and be able to Rename it and access Camera why are they continuing to ask for my password?
[4] if they can do that what's stopping them from being able to access other features on the ipad?
It is my understanding from these documents that if it is on and connected to the internet you can track it. In there it tells how tell if it is online by the color of the dot.
Read carefully, it is all in there
I still think this person is bluffing, but what confuses me is how this person knew how to contact you (?) You must not have had any security on it at all when lost.
    Likely nothing (see #3)
If it were mine, I would erase it to make an expensive paperweight out of it and call it lessons learned - that is if at this point you still can, punch the button!
I can only go by what the Apple documents have told us, as your situation seems totally unique to any I have heard.

  • Need to change iCloud password not apple id

MY ICloud (email) id and password are different than my Apple ID.  My ICloud (.ME) account has been disabled for security and I need to change my password.  Changing my apple id password does not do it.  How do I change just my Icloud email password?

I solved it.  I forgot that my email id is actually a 2nd apple id.  Why couldn't one of the experts have explained that when so many people had the same unanswered question?  It was simple.  In the apple id "iforgot" screen, instead of entering my apple id (for Itunes etc.) I entered my .me address. Then changed password to re-enable my email.  Jeez!

  • HT1199 Why is mail stuck in a do-loop of "There is a problem" with the mail account after changing iCloud password?  How can it be fixed?

After changing passwords for iCloud, Mail is stuck in a do-loop "There is a [problem..."  The error appears in less than one second after responding "Later"

Nope.  Turns out that even though I have two Macs running 10.9.4, the one in question doesn't get the SMTP settings changed by iCloud settings when the password is changed, so I had to "Edit" the account in Mail, plow down to the password settings for the Apple SMTP server, and change the password myself.  Nothing in the System Preferences iCloud setting tab lets you change any settings on the local machine.  Apple is sure they are controlling everything when you make changes in iCloud, but they are wrong.  Identical versions of 10.9.4 are configured differently on two different Macs.

  • Problem logging into my iMac after changing iCloud password

I changed my iCloud password and now can't login with the new password on my iMac but it's working on my MacBook Pro.  I'm using the iCloud password option instead of a local password.  How do I get the iMac to see that it's changed?  I can still log in with my old iCloud password.  I've rebooted and I've signed out and back into iCloud but it still isn't picking up the password change.
    Thank you

So, being the impatient tech guy I am I figured it out.
    1) Sign out of iCloud in System Preferences
    2) When prompted create a local password
    3) Log back into iCloud with the correct password
    4) Go to System Preferences > Users & Groups and select your user account
    5) Click Change Password
    6) Select the option to use your iCloud password
    7) Enter your current local password and your current iCloud password
    Done!
It's now working correctly for me.  I'm still not sure why it never automatically synced but I'm not going to go digging that one up.

  • Impossible to Change iCloud Password

    Hello,
I'm having problems with iCloud; basically I cannot remember my password I used when my ISP was with SKY.
Now I am with Virginmedia and I have a different email address, when I tried to reset my iCloud account it keeps allowing me to set-up a new password, but then states we've sent details to your email address (SKY) which I am now unable to access, and shows no way to change my contact email address to my new email address with Virginmedia.
    Kind Regards
