Changing Icons on iPod Touch

Hi there. I'm well aware that if you hold down an icon the rest of my icons will wiggle the thing is how do you change one application on one page for another on a separate page? Does that make sense?
I'd be grateful for the help.
Thanks

If I understand you correctly.... to move an app to another page:
1) Hold down the icon of any of the apps, this will cause them all to 'wiggle'.
2) Drag the app you want to move to the right side of the screen to move it to the next page. I've found that this is a little tricky and you have to push your finger right to the edge of the screen for it to work.

  • Blind Song Changing in iPhone/iPod touch request

I like the way Apple creates its products. Each modern Apple gadget is simple, qualitative, reliable and complete, polished. But sometimes I got a feeling that when Apple engineers find a good way to solve a task they allowing themselves to forget that this way is not the only possible one. Maybe I wrong. I hope so.
Right now I’m talking about one exact feature – a blind song changing. This feature is usable when you prefer to keep your iPod in pocket. And to keep different music in your iPod. You’re tired of rock and right now you want a jazz song, just one.
As far as I know currently there are two ways to change songs in iPod touch or iPhone (if you are not using external controller). A first one – Shaking feature, which you will mostly like to disable if you’re keeping your iPod touch in trouser’s pocket because Shaking will sometimes occasionally switch a song. A second one – thru the touch interface. Which is almost impossible if you’re not looking at the display.
I would be more than happy to see a blind song changing feature in next iOS update. And I have my personal idea how it may be fulfilled. In “Setting” -> “General” there are options to determine iPod behavior when you press a Home (physical) button. Below “Home”, “Search” and “IPod” options Apple could place more options for iPod behavior while device is LOCKED. And there they could place an option to switch a song. It may react to double press. Or to long press. Or behavior by any different way Apple engineers would find possible. Also that’s how they would be able to keep things as they are for those users who don’t need to change anything.
I would like Apple engineers to see this topic. To know about the feature I and other consumers with demands similar to me need. Probably if this topic will get enough responses, Apple will fulfill a request and make iPod touch and iPhone even better. So I ask anyone who understand my position to answer anything to keep the topic up.
    Thank you.
    Regards, Ilya

Have you investigated using Voice Control to control music playback? Voice commands can be used rather than touching the screen. This feature is available on the iPod Touch 3 Gen and 4 Gen (current).

  • The divice for changing the an ipod touch to an iphone?

Hi,everybody, how do you know the divice for changing the an ipod touch to an iphone? I have an ipod touch now. I really want to own an iphone, however, the price were far beyond my ways. I hear that there is a device can change the ipod to an iphone, how is it?Anybody can tell me?
    Thanks so much!

I do a LOT of calling on mine. Simply install the Skype app and get a SkypeOut account and SkypeIn number. They run about $60.00 a year for both. You get unlimited US & CA long distance, plus voicemail. For texting, I bought and use the TextFree app. You will need a wifi connection though for all this to work, but there are public wifi hot spots all over. I've even found open networks driving down the street. I just pull over, logon and make my call.

  • "Connect to iTunes" icon on iPod Touch 2G???

On Wednesday I upgraded to OS 3.0 on my 16 GB iPod Touch 2G. Everything was working fine until this afternoon when I turned on my iPod to read an e-book that I had been reading earlier and there was a black screen with an icon of a USB plug and an arrow pointing to an iTunes icon. I tried shutting down completely. It didn't help. I tried charging it with a wall plug. (I was at work and couldn't get to iTunes.) It didn't help.
When I got home I connected it to my MacBook and ITunes, it synced and all seems to be well now, but what the heck happened? Is this a sign I have a problem lurking in the background? (And, no, it's not a jailbroken iPod and never has been.) I bought it new, I'm the only user, and it's worked flawlessly until this.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you,
    Judie

Have you had this happen before? I haven't. I tried googling "Connect to iTunes icon for iPod Touch" and there were a couple of posts but I sensed that those folks had it happen on a jailbroken iPod.
Did you upgrade to the new iPhone OS 3.0?
I'm hoping someone that knows what caused this will reply so that maybe we can prevent it from happening again. It sure was a helpless feeling when I couldn't get to iTunes while at work. Now I feel like I can't depend on the iPod to always work properly.

  • Example: change artist name in itunes but doesn't change it on ipod touch 4g ios 5.0.1

It works on itunes and I have a playlist with only Eminem.
But on my ipod there are still the names of eminem Eminem e&m so why is that?
    1. I synced my ipod
    2. I didn't made the changes in libary but onder the ipod in the playlist (so really on the ipod, so you guys don't say you may made the changes in itunes libary. No I really made the changes on my ipod)
    3. I restarted my ipod several times but it didn't help
    ipod touch 4g IOS5.0.1 / windows 7 64bit
Could someone help me? because it's annoying that in itunes it looks like artist : Eminem and on my ipod all those wierd names.
I found a topic with the same problem but there was no sollution: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3409894?start=0&tstart=0
    Thank you,
    David

I have a completely untested & unconfirmed hypothesis that "something" changed in the last iOS update with the way iTunes keeps track of which items are on the device. My guess is that it has something to do with being able to identify the same item whether on the device, in your library or in the cloud. Whatever the cause I found I needed to manually delete a bunch of albums on my iPad that were showing as dupes or without artwork and which didn't get resolved by syncing. Since I deleted them and resynced it has all been fine.  Remove any problem content from the device and resync.
In the list type views swipe from right to left over the right hand side of an item (but keep away from the alphabet if it is showing down at the edge of the window). A red delete button should appear, tap to remove the item. In grid mode on an iPad holding your finger down on an item for about a second will produce a black & white cross at the top left, touch this to delete.
If that still doesn't work, backup the device and then restore it.

  • HT3965 Changing name on ipod touch 2nd gen

The name is grayed out on the ipod touch so I can't change it there.  I don't see where to change it on the computer and I can't figure out how to put the new songs I bought onto the ipod.  I liked the old itunes store better.  This one is too confusing!

If you  have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar.  Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar.

  • White icons on ipod touch

I have an ipod touch and have just noticed that some of the app icons have turned white otr blank.
Anyone have the same problem and know of a fix. I have restarted the ipod.
    Many thanks

Try to reset the iPod first by holding the sleep and home button until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose data doing a reset.
If you delete apps in order to download or sync them again, you will also erase the data of those apps while removing them from your device.

  • Color scheme changed on my ipod touch how do i change it back to normal?

I was listening to my ipod touch, when i went to unlock my ipod the color scheme (color effect) changed (by itself), Now instead of being the normal color it has like a multicolor color effect. Someone PLEASE HELP!!!

Unfortunately, if I told you, I'd be giving a hint of how to allow someone to illegally copy music from someone else's iPod to their machine.  There is a reason why it is blocked.   And no, you don't have to erase the iPod. I would request the techs give you help in doing that.  If they don't, ask other techs.

  • Vibrating icons with ipod touch

Every now and then, my newly purchased ipod touch (32Gb) All icons vibrate, I don't know why they vibrate, the only way i know how to stop the icons from shaking is rebooting the ipod touch. When I look at the screen all icons vibrate/shimmer/shake. I find this frustrating and I am sure there is an easy explanation however, I am at a loss, Any help would be appreciated

This is how you rearrange the icons.
Maybe you should look at the manual, I believe this is covered in the basics section:

The home button will stop the shaking.

  • Loading... icons on ipod touch

I was trying to update my iPod apps via Wifi via the App Store. It was downloading for a moment then the Wifi signal just went out. My work place's wifi connection broke down for some convenient time. Anyway, now i'm stuck with the Loading... with blank icons on my iPod touch. When I connected my touch to iTunes, it did continue the download process, but the Loading... icons are still there. Is there any way to remove those icons without restoring? I tried holding down the icon until it wiggles (so i can arrange them and delete them if i want to) the problem is there is no X button on them.
    Any ideas? Thanks!
I'm using 2.0.1 by the way. And had trouble updating apps. For some reason my touch just freezes, but that's another problem.

I'm actually having a similar problem. This is what's happening to me:
App Store ON the iTouch has the most recent App/Game updates, but iTunes does NOT. If I attempt to update Apps within iTunes, things seem to go alright (although it never has the most recent updates, bar a handful of free Apps). Since the most recent updates are only showing in App Store on the iTouch, I have to update from there. This is what ultimately leads to the "stuck on apple logo" situation.
Btw, I'm on my 15th restore in 3 days.
P.S. All of the band aide solutions given in these forums have yet to fix the problems me (and others) are experiencing. I do sincerely appreciate your efforts none-the-less.

  • No icon for iPod touch.

Ok, so I used to have an iPod nano that when I would plug it into my Mac, an icon would show up and when I wanted to eject it I would drag the icon down to the trash can. Now, with the iPod touch, nothing shows up. Did I do something wrong or does this feature not apply to the touch.

It doesn't apply to the iPod Touch. It won't ever appear on the desktop. Eject the iPod using the blue eject button to the right of your iPod in the devices list.

  • Anyone else having volume icon on ipod touch 4gen just popping up and not working properly after upgrading to ios 6.1?

Hi, has anyone experienced issues with there volume control icon randomly popping up after upgrading to ios 6.1 from 6.0 .
I have a 4th gen ipod touch which  until upgrading to 6.1 from 6.0 was working perfectly.
Minutes after the upgrade I noticed the volume icon just popping up for no reason. I can turn the volume up now, but not down and it randomly appears on screen without anyone touching it. Weird!  Can someone shed some light on this issue,I have reset and reloaded to factory several times now to no avail.
    thanks!

I am having this same issue on my iPhone 4. The most recent update to iOS 6.1 didn't fix it either. Has anyone found a fix for this problem? It doesn't happen often, maybe every third day or so but requires power off, power on to bring the sound back.
