Changing images on pages...?

Hello!
I'm new to Dreamweaver so this is probably something I'm just not seeing....I created several pages from the original homepage everything looks good, but I would like to change the main background image on sub-pages without them automatically changing all pages. The point is that I want each to look a little different. Is this a fixable problem or something that I screwed up initially? Any help is hugely appreciated!

For your body or main wrapper div on each sub-page, insert a css style for the new background-image.

Automator - Change Image Type - Multiple page PDF- TIFF conversion

I was able to do this on a friend's computer (not sure which version of OS X they were running), but this seems impossible on Snow Leopard.
I need to convert hundreds of multiple page PDFs to TIFFs. I can't get this to work, and the Change Image Type option only lists single page PDF conversion. I could separate PDFs into multiple files, convert to TIFFs, but then I don't know how to recombine a bunch of TIFF pages into a larger file. From google searches, I know this is possible using tiffutil, but I don't really understand how to use that well, and I really need an automatic process.
I'm at my wits end with this, because I did it just last week on someone else's computer and it was easy as pie. Why can't you convert multiple page PDFs in Snow Leopard?
Any ideas?

I just tried this - two problems.
It creates a separate tiff document for each page of the input pdf.
Also, this action is just annoying because it results in randomly named files in some temp folder that i can only locate using the reveal finder item action. I know I can rename files in automator, but I'd really like to have the output file have the same name as the input file.
It confuses me why they would remove this functionality in Snow Leopard.

You need to do the basic troubleshooting steps described in the User Guide, Appendix B.
Restart phone
Reset phone
Restore in iTunes using a backup
Restore in iTunes as new, without using a backup
If restoring as new doesn't help, there is a hardware failure in the phone that needs evaluation by Apple.

As far as I understand you need to update the image's link in your RSS XML file. Be sure to change the link file name even if it links to a different image.
The XML files associated with podcasts are checked for changes every 24 hours so don't expect this to happen instantly.

Of course it unrotates the text if I'm editing the text box, but not when I'm resizing or changing font properties. And when editng the text and there is an image beside it, the image obscures the text which makes editing exasperating. And since I got a table on landscape that exceeds 7.5" width, when trying to edit the last 2 columns,those become invisible on portrait, hence I'm unable to edit. And so has to set the doc to landscape, set to 0-deg, edit, set it again to portrait and 90-deg, and repeat if I happen to need to edit those invisible columns. Really a great and efficient way to write my technical doc! Which you would know IF YOU HAD TRIED IT -don't appreciate your sarcasm!
You can defend this blatant failure all you want but this kind of inadequancy continues because people don't speak up and demand this reasonable function and instead are satisfied with work-arounds that makes things hard for relatively easy task. I'm a systems and applications designer, this is the type of "missing feature" that would cause our app to be rejected by our clients. Surely you realized that because the users demanded, since 10.7, window resizing can be done from all corners instead of just right corners (or was it only bottom right)? I was shocked when I discovered this 2yrs ago when I switched to Mac and started using Snow Leopard. I'm grateful that I can now resize on 4's.

Changing images on jsp

I created a jsp page with a button and a image (ImageComponent). When the button is pressed a picture is retrieved from a database and saved on the CLIENTs harddrive (ex: "C:\\img.jpg"). After this the image should be changed to the picture just downloaded from the database.
The tried to call the methode:
image.setUrl("C:\\img.jpg");
then the current image dissapears, but the new image isn't displayed.
Did I used the right methode, or should I just call some kind of refresh methode? Can you please help.

Rotating image, decomposition page, recognizing text... etc.

Hi,
Each time I open new pdf file, there is a small pop-uo with black background on the right bottom of the file indicating some operations: rotating image, decomposition page, recognizing text... as here:
These popups appear automatically, even if the document is in good quality! Meanwhile I can't navigate the document! I have to wait until the end of these processes (this could take longtime depending on the size of file) !
Does anybody know how to deactivate these popups?

I had this problem in Acrobat Pro 9.4.5 and just figured out how to fix it: It is related to a "read out loud" setting.
Apparently Acrobat OCR's the document just to figure out in which order it should be read aloud, and there's no way to disable this. The document I was having trouble with does have equations in it, so whether or not this takes long enough to be annoying may depend on whether the document contains things that are hard for OCR to process.
You can fix it by editing preferences for "Reading" and change Reading Order to "Left-to-right, top-to-bottom..." instead of "Infer reading order from document (recommended)". Then make sure Screen Reader Options is set to "Only read the currently visible pages".

Single photo slideshow /changing image?

Okay, so here's what I'm trying to figure out:
On the welcome page of my website I have one large photograph. I'd like this photograph to change roughly every 3 seconds to a new photograph, and cycle through about 6 photographs in total. It's not exactly a slideshow that I'm after, more of a changing image. I also don't want any buttons or text around it, I just want my changing photograph...
How do I do this?

I am using three images for a single column of a table in Jsp.

In broad way if i say i have multiple situations in mutiple tables where i need such a logic to operate in for all tables.
lets say in first time load of page by default one image will be displayed (one with sorted order for first column rest all non sorted)Now after every click to any image respective sort should get called.along with all images should get changed.Here with every function one/two images will get effect at least.
As in first if i say sort by desc then this image will change rest all will remain in unsort form.
when i move to other column and click on new image the previos will convert to unsort and new one will convert to sort by ascending. rest all will be in unsort form as it is.
Now it seems like same logic is required with two three conditions.
even for everyaction different parametrs has to be passed at differnt situations.
Any good idea if someone can suggest.
I will be very greatful for him.

Help! I drag an image into pages but it gives me the images info instead of the picture! What do I do?

Does any one know what i need to change. When i'm dragging an image into pages it ends up with the images info and web address rather than the image itself. What should I do?

Try dragging the image to the desktop and then to the Pages document or
Select and copy the image and paste it into the document.
It could be that the webpage is making it impossible to knick the image. I have encountered that a few times.

How to crop an image in Page?

How can I ACTUALLY crop an image in Pages to the size of the mask? Reducing image size des not work, it reduces the size of all images by reducing the quality. It does not in fact cut images to the mask shape. Any ideas?

When using the mask you get the images put behind the mask. You can change the size of the mask if you like to get the part of the image you want showing. That is the masks behavior.
If you really want to crop the image first you have to use another application for the cropping. There are many out on the net that you can try.
Download the Pages User Guide from your Pages Help menu. On page 138 in the English version it describes Masking images.

Change image size on list Field

I have list library which has column of "Person or Group" and selected "Name with (picture)". But i cant change image Size there. its always 62x62. How can i change it?

How exactly are you wanting to change it? height and width should just be attributes in the element... so.. probably the most simple (but not exactly elegant) way to handle this is to use jQuery.
If you drop the following script into a Content Editor Web Part on your page, it will resize all the profile pics to 100x100. (change the numbers to the size you want):

Some Caveats:
1) This script resizes ALL images that have a width of 62. So, if you have some other random image on your page that is 62px wide, it will find it and resize as well.
2) I'm references the jQuery library externally which I do not usually recommend, but at least you can drop this script in and it should just work.
Again, not elegant, and I'm sure someone smarter than me can improve on it, but it should at least get you what you need.

Applescript to change image resolution using image events

Does anyone have an applescript to change image resolution using image events in OSX? I want to optimize my images for iWeb. I want to use a shell script in an applescript as a droplet or as a service in Automator. I'd like to leave the original intact.

For what type of use in iWeb are these photos intended? If it's for adding to a page (not a photo or album page) iWeb does a great job of optimizing. See my post in this topic: Re: Photo Resolution in iWeb.
You can optimize an entire site with an application like Web Site Maestro. It can reduce the site's size by up to 49%. Here's the settings available for the optimization:
