As Apnewbie mentions, you can change the names of your pages to anything you'd like while avoiding the use of certain "special" characters. Just make sure that you make the changes INSIDE iWeb and then republish your site. You can't simply change the file names in the published sitefolder. That will definitely break things.

  • Need grep expression to change index page numbers

I built an Index using Type&Tables>Index however there was a lot of additional work that had to be done manually after it was built, so I do not want to use the Replace command. Is there a grep expression I could use in Find Change to find the "tab + page number" and replace with "tab + page number adding 2" (i.e., so an item originally indexed to be on page 13 would then be indexed on page 15).

Take a look at this thread:
    https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1282483
Jongware's script should fit your needs without any modification, I guess..

  • How to change the index page of tomcat to a specific page in a  web app.

    hi all
i am trying to figure out a way to change default application to a specific web application deployed in tomcat, so that when you type localhost:8080, it will start with the web app. basically i want to get ride of the context or map the context to the default page. i.e. map this http://localhost:8080/example/ to http://localhost:8080/. thanks.

maybe i didn't explain myself clearly as to what i needed to do.
i have created a web application and deployed into tomcat 5.5 with a context of "example". the path looks something like this: $catalina_home/webapps/example. in order to access the application, i need to type http://localhost:8080/example in the browser. is there any way to change it so that when i type http://localhost:8080, it will take me to my web application without accessing the tomcat index page.
    thanks.

  • HOW CAN I CHANGE FONT STYLE IN INDEX PAGE FOR IBA?

    Hi
Is it possible to change the font style in INDEX page for iBA?
    Naidu

NO. In the index page. I figured out that we can change the space and text formate.
I am preparing a bokk with 1 chapter and 13 section.
SO, in the index page it is showing like 1.1, 1.2.......1.10, 1.11 so on; on the left hand side and page numbers on the right hand side.
Can i take out the numbers on the left and have only the section name and page number?
    If so how?

  • Domain name does not link to index page.

Having a lot of difficulty publishing to FTP, have researched many forums and unable to find answers. Whether I publish to FTP via iWeb or Cyberduck, my domain name danbaileymusic.com shows a 403 Forbidden Error. However if i type in danbaileymusic.com/index or /music, ect it loads. The whole site functions fine, but the domain name does not link to the index page.
In Cyberduck all permissions have been turned on. Also I noticed that when publishing to a local folder, iWeb creates a folder "danbailey" and an index.html. This index page does not work in Cyberduck, however the index page that is WITHIN the folder "danbailey" does work, but it doesn't link to the domain name.
Please help! I've been working on this for weeks and cannot figure out why the domain name is not working!

It only creates the page names with first letter capitalized (as in Index not index) I have tried changing it from the sidebar and from the Page Name in the Inspector -- typing "index" comes back as "Index" It's easy enough to change the "I" to an" i" at the file level (which did fix the problem) but doing this also breaks all the links I have to "Index.html" Fixing this on the creation side would be ideal. Thoughts?
I am using iWeb '09 v.3.0.1 if that makes a difference

  • Problem uploading site to server by FTP - index page is blank

    Hi,
I made my site in I web which works fine when simulating it in a local folder. When uploading by FTP to the server from a host where a rent my domain the program starts sending the files, but in the end it says publication error, try again later or contact your server provider.
I did contact the server provider and they do receive the pages that I am sending BUT:
    - everything appears to end up at the wrong place in the server
    - the index page that is sent with the other files appears to be empty, blank which results in the server not be alble to order the site and a white empy page is shown when opening my site on the internet.
I checked the html files which are all fine and when I send those to the server provider they seem all ok. But the index.html file is also empty on my computer. Is this normal?
My first page is called 'home' and we had tried to rename that home.html file to index.html and again upload the whole site. The result is that I can now see my homepage when opening the site on the internet but without the index on top (the names of the other pages where you can click to go to another page on the site) and that is it.
Can someone help me with this? Is this a problem with Apple, shoud the index.html file be blank? Or can they change settings in the server to solve this problem.
    Grtz,
    Kroko

iWeb was originally designed as a foolprof way to create websites and upload them to MobileMe.
Normally, the first, or Home, page of a website is named "index" since an index.html is required in the root folder of the server for everything to work as planned.
To stop us rookies screwing things up, and to overcome the limitations of a single MobileMe user account, the developers packaged the site files in a folder with the same name as the sitename in iWeb.
The top site in iWeb has an external index file which rediredts to the Home page so that it can be reached by the URL...
    http://www.domain-name.com
Any other sites are uploaded as sub sites and require the addition of the folder name in the URL...
    http://www.domain-name.com/Site-Name/
When you are uploading to a server other than MobileMe, you have two choices of publishing methods...
    http://www.iwebformusicians.com/iWeb/Publish-Website.html
Using the iWeb FTP allows you to upload the files in a foolproof way to avoid breaking the site structure. If you want to remove the site name from the URL you can publish to a local folder and upload the contents only...
    http://www.iwebformusicians.com/iWeb/URLs-Favicons.html
This latter method is only viable so long as you don't have a blog or podcast feed.

  • Index page won't load images in flash gallery

this is the first time I have used a .us extension for a domain.  I created a lighroom flash image gallery, exported it from lightroom into a folder called the domain name (pearlconcepts) which is located in my sites folder on my computer.  I uploaded that folder (pearlconcepts) to my server into the root folder which holds all my domain folders. when I call up the url in my browser (pearlconcepts.us) the index page loads fine.  but the web gallery images don't load (the flash player reads only 'loading').  however, if I upen the index page on my own computer (pearlconcepts.us/index,html), it loads all the images in the flash gallery perfectly.
I am wondering if there is some code in lightroom's web module which sets .com as a preference (my other sites are all .com and the uploaded folders all work fine). or if there is something I need to do to the root folder on the server to make the images load properly.
    many thanks!

  • How do I customize the index page?

I can't seem to find out how to edit the default index page (ie content, banner, etc.) without it losing the theme or the css file, which i guess is somehow linked to it? The page points to "collaboration/css/serverhome_static.css" which doesn't seem to exist?
Can you guys help me out?
Maybe point me to the right files? or just flat out tell me what to do would be nice :P
    thanks

    Hi,
The web pages produced for the groups are dynamic and under the control of WebServer. You can see the requests and responses in Console -> LOG FILES -> /Library/Logs -> WebServer which accesses the folder /usr/share/.
If you want to change something like the banner on the groups listing page you can:
Change banner.jpg in usr/share/collaboration/css/serverhome/img to the banner image of your choice (ensuring the size (length x height) is appropriate). Be sure to set Permissions on any files added to
Owner: root -rw, Group: wheel -r, Others: -r.
Be aware that /usr/share may be changed during a Apple software update. For user specific changes immune to updates the place to modify is at /Library/Application Support/Apple/WikiServer. That said I made changes to my banner display in /usr/share as described above in 10.5.0 that haven't been disturbed by 10.5.1 - 10.5.5.

  • Webmail link on default index page is not showing up

I am using the main index.html for testing purposes.
I have wikis, blog, calendar, and mail all enabled in sites/webservices, as well as configure server side mail rules.
When I go to the default web site (changed to https/ssl) I only show My Page, Wikis, Blogs, and Mail Rules as the services that are "on". https://mysite.domain.com/webmail still works.

If you take a look at the javascript file that sets up the services for the index page:
    /collaboration/javascript/serverhome.js
The webmail service icon isn't shown if the wiki is turned on - regardless of whether webmail is enabled. The rationale is that there is a link to webmail in the mypage header.

  • Saving 1 page changes another page settings

I know that there is an easy solution to my issue.  I have a copy of a website that I wanted to duplicate its features.
I have a copy of another website (A) locally that I want to copy.  In CS4, I defined a new site, opened a document which I named index.  Then I opened a page from site A, copied all the “Style and Layout” settings as well as the code from site A page to my index page.  I displayed correctly and I went about changing stuff and once done, I saved the index page with success.  Looks good with my changes and I’m happy.
I then created page 2 for my site, and opened a 2nd page from site A that I wanted to create my second page equal too, copied all the above files from 2nd page of site A to my second page for my site.  I made all the changes to my page and saved page 2 for my sight.
However, when I opened my index page, my 1st page, the settings that I saved from the 2nd page that I created, changed the settings to my 1st page.
Now, I know that is directly associated with the style and layout css, but, how do I go about saving a page settings without affecting another page settings successfully?  I figure it’s a easy step, but, I’m not in the mood after many hours of work.
Thanks for your help if you know the solution to my issue.

    All work is local.
    OK.
Unfortunately you'll have to make do with the hit-and-miss guesswork already evident in this thread.

  • Way to change all page links to 'fit page' view?

Hi, I'm working on a PDF document which has about 130 pages.  The person who initially created all the index page links via a clickable menu item set the page view to a custom one which means the pages show at varying sizes when clicked and the page displayed.  I want them all to be 'fit page' but as far as I know to do that I'm going to have to edit each link via properties and change it manually.
    Thanks
    Guy

a hassle when you have 50+ pages
You should try it when you have 170+ pages!
No, there is no simple way to change all pages at once. I use exactly the same method as you are doing now. Having proper user definable templates is on my wish list for future releases of iWeb.

I tried some of the other suggestions on the Forum and none of them worked.
However, I right clicked on the corrupted file in the Finder and selected Show Package Contents. In the subsequent menue, there was an index.pages file.  I opened it in Pages and voilå there was my file complete with tracked changes and comments.
    Hope it works for you.
