If i restore my friends iphone on my pc and then plug it into his computer will i have to restore the iphone before it can be used?

You can restore the phone on a different computer.
No you do not need to restore it again when you connect it back with his computer(that is if the restore process on your PC was successful)

Plug your old phone in to iTunes and right click on your phone name when it appears. You will see an option to transfer purchases to iTunes on your computer. Once you've transferred everything, just sync it to the new phone.

It's not entirely impossible actually as someone has pointed out to me that I can turn on Call Forwarding and that stops any incoming calls. I've just forwarded it to my google voice number and then turned on "do not disturb" in google voice and whenever I get a call it goes straight to my google voice voicemail and my phone does nothing. The only thing now is I still get text messages but I think the phone calls bugged me more because they would make my music turn off for much longer.
Even though this isn't a perfect solution it's something so far so maybe you shouldn't just come out and say there's NOTHING I can do because so far I've found part of a solution. If you don't have anyting productive to say then just don't reply and close the tab. Thanks.

Of course it changed. A phone's IMEI number is unique to each phone. The IMEI number for a phone does not transfer to another phone.
Since your iPhone was exchanged under warranty without having the box and bill for the original purchase, you don't need it now either. The exchange under warranty remains under the warranty for the original purchase.

The iphone 5 can only be located if connected to a data or mobile network. If in Airplane mode or switched off, it can't be found.
