Changing ipod album name display

On itunes on my computer I can personalize how information is displayed. . If I'm clicked on a folder, I can click "View" and then "View Options" and display or hide any info that I want.
But I don't see these kinds of options for my ipod. . Specifically, I would like to see the album name before I begin playing a song and bring up the song playing screen. . I only see the album name on the current song playing screen. . If I Menu back to check out what I want to listen to next, I can never see the album name. . I can only see the song name and artist name.
Can I change how my ipod displays the information that it has so that it displays the album name within the playlist BEFORE I select a song to play ?

If I Menu back to check out what I want to listen to next, I can never see the album name. . I can only see the song name and artist name.
It all depends how you got to the song playing.
Go to Music -> Albums and it will do what you want.

  • If I change the Album Name, the Album Column still sorts by the old name even the new name is listed.

If I change the Album Name, the Album Colum still sorts the song by the old name even though it shows the new changed name.
This happens for a song I bought from the iTunes Store. When I change the Album Name on songs read in from CDs, it sorts by
the Album Name which I edit.

Changing file or folder names by hand makes iTunes loose contact with the files. You shouldn't do this. If the files are stored inside the iTunes Media folder and you have the option "Keep iTunes Media folder organized" enabled then files with move around as you edit their tags. If they are stored elsewhere, or that option isn't selected, then if you want to rename the files you need to remove and then reimport, or manually reconnect each track one by one.
Select all of the tracks of the album, press Ctrl+I to Get Info, select the Sorting tab, delete the contents of any of the Sort fields, click OK. This should resolve the sorting issue.

  • Album Name Display

On my previous iPod Nano, when viewing albums, the name of the album would scroll if it was long to be able to see the full name. Now on my new iPod Touch, long album names are always displayed with an elipsis at the end. All of my album names are long so that I can sort my classical music in iTunes, but I can't tell which is which in normal album view if I have for example a dozen albums with the name: "Beethoven: Symphon...".
Is there a way around this?

A way around? Not really. In landscape mode, cover-flow view, album names are displayed in considerably greater length but this may not be what you want. Of course, the album names can be edited (shortened) in iTunes with the File menu item *Get Info* but this involves work.

How can I change my iPod's name as displayed on my iPod and in iTunes

Connect your iPod to PC. In iTunes, double click on iPod icon, and enter new name.

  • To change the icon name displayed by default while an ALV is displayed.

    Hi Experts ,
Need to change the icon name EXPORT displayed by default , while an ALV is displayed to Download to Excel.
    How can this be achieved?
    Regards.

    Hi,
You can copy the Status 'Standard' of the program 'SAPLKKBL' and create a Z. Change the icon name in the Z pf-status as wished. Now in the event slis_ev_pf_status_set of 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY' set the PF-Status to the Z that u created.

  • Changing the column names displayed via an ODBC driver

Hi we are just starting to used Crystal Reports to improve the reporting capabaility of a legacy application, we can access the data fine using an ODBC driver. What we want to do is change the column names that are displayed within Crystal Reports so they are more user friendly and not in techno speak,, so that the users can create their own reports. Do we need to used Business Objects to setup a Universe to do this, is their a simple cheaper method sorry if this post is in the wrong section

Can you set up "views" in your database? That would probably be the easiest way to do this.

  • Changing podcast album name??

    Hi all,
I created a podcast about two months ago. However, I've recently decided I need to reformat the name, and the album name.
Old Album Name: Regeneration - The Epistle of 1st Peter Series
New Album Name: Regeneration - The First Epistle of Peter Series
I went through and changed all my .mp3 files to reflect the new change, and then also updated the.xml file for the feed.
While all 10 of the episodes are appearing in one feed within my iTunes application (for Windows) under the new name, when I go to my Music library within Windows 7 File Manager, there are now two different directories. One uses the original album name, while the other uses the newer name.
Next, I unsubscribed, and deleted the feed off my laptop computer, and then resubscribed. However, it's still not creating one physical directory.
What is the proper procedure to change a podcast album name, and get that information into the iTunes Music Store so that all episodes are in the newer named album directory?
I made the change approximately eight 10 hours ago, so I know iTunes has had the time to crawl through the .xml and update their feed.
    Thanks!
    Robert

You're misunderstanding what I said earlier though.
I went ahead and completely REMOVED the feed out of my local copy of iTunes. After unsubscribing, I deleted the now empty local folder within File Explorer. In essence, my copy of iTunes shouldn't know that I ever subscribed to the podcast feed.
I then subscribed again to the feed. Logically, it should create a brand new folder within Windows because the feed only references the new album name. HOWEVER, two albums are still being created locally on my computer, with the folders being populated with the pre-change album names/files.
    Hope that's more clear.
    Thanks for writing back.

  • Why do I receive the exclamation point when I just change the album name? File goes missing?

I keep all of my itunes media on an attached network hard drive.  Had no problems for months but over the past 45 days I've noticed that material has started to go missing that I know I did not delete.  I have found no malware on my system.
I read a script to tell me all the files that had an exclamation point.  There were some TV shows (an entire season gone missing) and some CDs.
I just did a test and imported a CD.  I then clicked "get info" and changed the name of the album.  Immediately I received the exclamation point and when I tried to find the original file it is gone.  I have no idea where the file has gone to.  I've tried searching, looking around to find it, and I can't.
Why is itunes having this behavior?  How is the file being deleted?  Any other thoughts or ideas of what I should do to stop this?
I've also sent a support request to the hard drive mfg (lacie) but I'm not sure I'll get much help there.
    Thanks.

More info:  I just ran the same test two ways.  One, I had some files on my desktop, run a script to move these files to the "automatically add to itunes" folder, the files move just fine to my external hard drive and to itunes.  The file plays just fine and the "get info" tab shows it is playing the file from the external hard drive where the file was moved to (not copied).  But, as soon as I change the artist name or the album, the file goes missing and I get the exclamation point.
I ran the same test by putting the files on my desktop, but instead of moving the file to the "automatically add to itunes folder" I just double clicked the file to play it.  I let itunes add a copy and organize my folders.  This time, the file would have been copied (not physically moved) and I see itunes is playing the new copied version.  This time, when I try to change the artist name or album, I have no problems.
I've never encountered this before.  Any info?  Thanks.

  • Changing IPod's Name From "Default's" IPod

  • Changing IPOD's Name

    Hi,
I have two questions. The first one is: I subscribed to a podcast and set it to download and keep all episodes.
So far it's downloaded three over a three week period
but only the latest one shows in Itunes. All three do reside in the Podcast folder though. Question Two is:
If I want to sell my ipod can I just erase the music and sell it or do I have to deauthorize it or something in order to erase the name I have given it. Thanks in advance
    for the help......Eric

The name can be changed manually in the source list, however if you are going to sell it then it would be simpler just to restore it. Restoring your iPod will erase the hard drive, reload the software and put it back to default settings: Restoring iPod to Factory Settings

  • How to edit music album names - too long to display in Ipod

How can I edit music/audio album names. I don't really care about music but I have a lot of audio files and they all have the same name, followed by "Disk 1," "Disk 2," etc.  The problem is that the "Disk 1" doesn't get displayed because there's not enough room on the Ipod display.  I would think I could edit this in Itunes but don't see how to do it.  I would like to1 shorten the title so the "Disk 1" can be displayed.  Hope that is clear.
    Thanks for any help.

You can edit album names in iTunes on your computer.
Select all of the songs in the album, Select Get Info from the File menu, edit the Album name in the Info tab of the Get Info window and select OK.
This will change the name of the album. Note that you must change the album name for all of the songs in the album or you will end up with two albums.

  • Albums are displayed incorrectly on my ipod

I have a 5th generation ipod. I recently added a cd to my computer and loaded it onto my ipod. When i go to albums and select it, the album is in two parts of the same name instead of just one part. This can be annoying if i want to listen to the album the whole way through as i have to go back to the menu and selct the other part.
Is there anyway you can fix this?

Yes Edit your ID3 tags on the songs. theres something different on the tags in "Album 1" and "Album2" make sure all tags are EXACTLY the same. you can do this by rightclicking each song and hitting "Get Info" or highlighting all the songs on the CD and hitting get info to change the album name for all in one swoop
