Changing ipod cover (back/front panel)

Hey,
I need some advice about changing your iPod case. I've browsed the internet a while and I discovered tons of sites that provide new back and front panels. They deliver those kits with the tools to successfully open your iPod. I thought thay could be a solution for me, but also for other people who find their new ipod damaged.
Those full kits retail for the price of about 60 dollar on Ebay, and that's a fair price I believe. You can also check ipodmods.com, but they are a lot more expensive
Now my question(s): is there anyone who has experience with doing this mod himself, so can someone give me advice about this subject.
Do I lose my guaranty when I do this? Even when you put back the original front/back panel?
I hope the community will be able to help me with this one
Thanks

Never tamper with an Apple product unless it's something that you can do yourself, like installing memory, or an airport card, or an iBook keyboard. I believe it states that if you tamper with a product, iPod included, that your warranty is null and void. I wouldn't risk it, especially if you purchased apple care.

  • Dynamically change image in another front panel

    Hi everyone,
I have a 2D picture that is shown full screen on another front panel and when i enter new inputs (focal length or wavelength) in the main front panel, the picture in that second front panel will change. But I want the picture in the second front panel to be changed dynamically when I enter new inputs. I've tried doing it using a button ("Full screen") to make the picture change but it only be changed if i close the full screen picture and click on the button again. I would like to know if there are other ways of changing the picture dynamically without using any buttons.
    Thanks

  • How to update front panel immediately with any control change in LabVIEW7.0?

I have a lot of controls on the front panel. I want my 3D plot to be updated with any of them changed. Currently only one control's change can result in the update even if I do have done changes on other controls .. that's to say, only one specific control's change can activate the front panel updating ... That's not what I want. So how to make the front panel updated immediately like VC?
    Many thanks!

I solve this problem by combining the event structure with a classical state machine. The classical state machine is a case inside a loop with either an enum or string shift register defining the actual state. In the idle case of that structure is the actual event structure which handles the UI.
Whenever I need to trigger a specific action which could happen from multiple locations I actually place the handling code in a specific case in the outside state machine and just wire from the actual event case the according state out to the shift register.
This architecture allows for a very flexible and extende state machine programming with the event structure doing all the UI event handling and the state machine doing the more involved actions or series of actions

  • Front Panel objects do not stay in place after saving, closing, and reopening the VI.

I have been working with a couple of versions of a main VI. The original VI was given to me so that I could add additional functionalities to it. I had been designing the front panel of the latest version of the VI on a Dell laptop running Windows 7 and LabView 2011 SP1 using a monitor with a resolution of 1920x1080. My booleans, numerics, and plots on the front panel had always stayed in place after saving, closing, and reopening the VI. Once in the field, I connected my laptop to a cRIO9073 and used my laptop screen with a resolution of 1366x768 to operate the VI. I made some changes to the VI, saved it, and reopened it. This time I noticed that the front panel objects had become overlapped, resized, and generally rearranged. I tried fixing the objects but I noticed that they reverted back to the incorrect positions after saving and reopening the VI. I was successful in keeping the objects in position a couple of times, but when I would open the VI at a later time, the objects were again rearranged. This is happening on both my monitor and laptop screen. The original version of the VI, however, does not behave this way and I have opened it on both my monitor and laptop screen. In this version, the front panel objects always stay in place. Both VI's have the same window size properties. Could I have corrupted the latest version of my VI somehow? Below are screenshots of the front panels of both VI's.

    Hi Miguel,
It is possible to programmatically set or change the position of front panel objects. (for example: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/4D0DA06B43195B3F862572F3000AF2D3?OpenDocument) However, if you haven’t intentionally done that, it seems unlikely that it is the problem.
Have you tried copying the entire block diagram in to a new VI to see if the problem persists? While it is unlikely, you are right that it is possible for VIs to become corrupted. I’ve never heard of a situation like this except in the situation where the settings Tom had you check have been changed. Here is some information about those settings:
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/7567EF257B9CFDF986256F630073228F?OpenDocument
Since there was no rearrangement when you copied the front panel to a new VI, you might try copying the block diagram a little bit at a time to see if there is some particular part of it that creates the problem somehow.

Hi, I am having problems with the network assistant not showing the front panel view's correctly when connecting to our stack of 3850's. As can be seen in the attached image of 3 switches they show that identical ports are enabled on each one.  Switch number 3 should actually be all grey as no devices are connected to this new member.  The Network Assistant Version is 6.1,  Is there a way of fixing this?
    Thanks

  • Print Front Panel/Change Colors?

Unfortunately, the optimal GUI for display on a computer screens does not
work very well for printing. I have a program that has a lot of graphs with
black backgrounds and it really sucks the black ink if it is printed often.
In the past, I solved this issue by having a duplicate screen that I sent my
data to that had white backgrounds. In this case I have a lot of tabs,
controls, and indicators and it would take too long to create all the print
screen scenarios on a separate VI.
Question: Does anyone know of a simple method to invert colors or change
brightness of panel printouts to use less ink?

When using Bill's solution, you can use the "Panel >> Defer Panel Updates" property using Property Nodes. Set it to TRUE, then change colors, print the front panel, reset the color, then set the "Defer Panel Updates" to FALSE.
That way the user will never see the panel color change.

  • Aud2 ZS platnm I get I/O from front panel, but no output from REAR OF CA

I had a Audigy2 in my Dell, worked fine. I needed MORE I/O ports. I got a Audigy2 ZS platinum for the front panel (extra I/O) front panel works fine, sound card sounds fine, all is well - except I get no output from the back of the card. (certainly this isn't a "front OR rear" sort of thing?)
    About ready to return it.

I DO get digital output from the front and back (front panel on front of Dell) and back of card. I don't get ANALOG output from card. I thought I recall a selecti've click box in the software that said "digital only" where is that. (I HATE creatives software - SO MANY LITTLE UTIL PROGRAMS THAT DO LITTLE OR NOTHING EACH) you have to HUNT through them all to find the option you need.

I just put my first PC together -- 785G-E53 and Phenom II X2.  But the front panel audio does not work even though the connector plug-in JAUD1 just fine.  I suspect it's because the mobo has 7.1 HD audio and my front panel audio has a simple stereo connector.  How do I get the audio to the front panel?
    Thanks.

I've tired all that and it's not working.  I think there may be an issue with the case.  Over the weekend, I built a second computer for my kids.  I used the same model motherboard and same model case.  That one works perfectly with no changes to the disable front panel jack detection.
The only difference is that mine has bios 2.A and the old one has 2.8.  Couldn't get the windows based bios flash tool in live update 4 to work.  When I checked the forum, found a post that said as far as bios goes, if it ain't broke don't fix it.  Maybe that is what's wrong with my computer.

It sounds like the battery might have gone bad, and is swelling and causing the symptoms you describe.  Do not attempt to use the phone, but take it to Apple for evaluation.

  • How can I display a changing variable in a subvi on the front panel of the main vi as the subvi is excuting

In the document attached the vi on the right is sub to the vi on the left. On the subvi on the right the variable "Field Reading" is continuously updated on the front panel of the subvi as the "for" loop is executed, but only the last value of the variable is updated on the main vi front panel which is what is expected. My question is how can I display the changing value of "Field Reading" on the main vi front panel as the "for" loop in the subvi is running?

Hopefully I can explain it well enough. It really is simple.
    1) Create an empty global variable and call it something like User Interface References.vi
    2) For each and every control and indicator on your front panel, right-click and select Create/Reference
    3) Place these references wherever you like (I use a series of Event cases to perform my initialisation and these all live in one of these event cases). They can be placed anywhere in the main vi.
    4) For each of the references, right-click and select Create/Indicator
    5) Moving to the front panel, Cut all the indicators and Paste them in the global variable (eg. User Interface References.vi)
    6) Moving back to the block diagram, wire the global variable to each of the references and select the same named global variable.
All the hard work is now done (until you add another user interface terminal). You should now have something that look as shown below, [except the reference labels would be to the left (not sure why the snippet put them above)]. In my latest program I have 82 references!
Done. You can now access all your front panel controls and indicators anywhere in your program as shown below.
You can just select Value in most cases, but in this particular case I wanted to fire off an Event to do some things (log the alarm) as well as just update the value. So, this is another bonus with the method.
Hopefully this all makes sense. If not, let me know.

    Hi Jim,
After my previous post, I also saw this behavior, so I decided to do another test.  If there are no decorations in the VI set to “Merge VI” (“Place VI Contents” for LabVIEW 8.5 and later) the controls and indicators are still not selected when dropping the VI from the Functions palette.  I checked this behavior back to LabVIEW 7.1 and it is consistent throughout that controls and indicators are not selected.  (Consequently, so is the fact that when decorations are present they don’t maintain the relative position).
I am not sure if this would be better suited as a CAR or product suggestion since it has been this way that long, but it does not appear to be related to the fact that decorations are present in the Merge VI.  It does seem strange that the decorations are selected though.  Looks like the best way to work around this is to drop the VI from the Controls palette.  Hopefully, it’s not too much of a hassle.

This just means that not many people use this feature.  However, now that VIPM Professional makes it so easy to edit the palettes, I'm sure that others will start complaining that this doesn't work as they expect.
    > I am not sure if this would be better suited as a CAR or product suggestion

Just look up the functional specifications for this feature and see if all objects are supposed to be selected.
But seriously, is there a reason that only the FP decorations are selected?  Surely this would be documented somewhere, if there was a good reason for this current (IMO, buggy) behavior.

the best way to work around this is to drop the VI from the Controls
palette.  Hopefully, it’s not too much of a hassle.
That's not a reasonably work-around, IMO.  It doesn't make sense to drop Block Diagram components onto the Front Panel.  For example, this bug affects the JKI State Machine.  It doesn't make sense to drop a State Machine onto the Front Panel.
So, I'd file it as a CAR/bug, and then wait to see how LV R&D feels about it.  If they can find some valid reason for why Controls and Indicators shouldn't be selected, then that's fine (and hopefully someone will explain it to me).
    Thanks,

  • CDE Front Panel change between sessions

I'm trying to change the front panel workspace buttons so they change between sessions. However, when I log out and back in again they are reset back to "One", "Two", "Three" and "Four".
After I changed the label on one of the buttons, I brought up the Style manager and selected "Set As Home". I went to the $HOME/.dt/sessions/home directory and found the dt.resources file did contain the new label for the button. However, when I log out and back in again the buttons are not set to the new value. What am I doing wrong, please?

    Hi Filip,
About the 6 second delay. Did you changed anything in the "function generator.vi"?
And when you change the amplitude of your signal, is it first displayed on the front panel,
or does your output change first.
I am asking you this because i have trouble opening the example. All our pc's have Labview 8.5 installed
and 6.1 is just abit to long ago to be compeletly compatible. So i need to make an image of a pc then uninstall
Labview 8.5 and install an older version. I can open the vi with 8.5 but many subvi's are missing and i can't run
it so i can't see if i have a problem.
So let me know if you changed anything? From what i have seen there isn't anything wrong with the vi.
I think the problem is the following. When we select continuous generation we make the hardware fill a buffer with samples.
so the buffer can be read every time at the same moment and the signal appears continuous. But let's say we change the signal,
then it will only disapear after all the pervious buffer items are read out. So i think if you make the buffer smaller the delay should be smaller.
Perhaps you can take a look at that too.

  • Why does the Font color change on my front panel?

I'm using the Font Dialogue to change the color of highlighted text on my front panel. After I save and reopen my app some of the Text will revert back to their original color (Black). Is this a bug in or am I missing something?

I assume that you want all control labels with white text. If I change the black ones to white and save the VI, the white text color is retained.

Okay. Accpeting that the design is not favorable and not advantageous when my program expands. I have begin to follow producer/consumer programming architecture.
Please find the attached program which is a simple producer consumer with event structure. I wonder how could I stop looping around the producer and consumer loops over and over again. I am pretty sure that this ENQUEUE ELEMENT loops back to the consumer loop and starts from begining.
I hope my first program in PC architecture with State machine and Event structure is correct.
