Changing iTunes account's country?

Hi,
If i change my iTunes country account, will all my purchases from the previous country be gone?
( the account is the same one but changed to a different country)
Thanks

They'll remain on the device but will probably disappear from the purchase history, and you may get charged if you redownload them from the new country.

  • Changing country - changing iTunes account

I need help to make sure which direction I should take.
I live in Sweden and move to the UK. I have an iTunes account with credit card, which I would like to change to a UK account in order to keep my Apple ID and not to create a new one.
I learned that it is easy to change country / address / credit card info in iTunes, but I am afraid that I will not see my purchase history and I will not be able to update my apps later on.
Is there any way to fix it? Or I have to create a new account in the UK...
    Any idea?
    Thanks

I wrote to iTunes store support about just such an issue, and this was the response:
    1) If you have any store credit, you will need to use the credit before you can change countries in your account.
    2) You will need to download all purchased content before changing countries. In addition, rented items must be past their 30 day expiration in order to change countries. For more information on rentals, please visit:
iTunes Store: Movie rental frequently asked questions (FAQ)
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1657
    3) You will be asked to provide a payment method, such as a credit card or debit card associated with a valid billing address in the new country. An iTunes Store Gift Card issued in the new country is also an acceptable payment method. You will not be able to change your account's country without providing one of these methods of payment.
    4) Content purchased from the iTunes Store is country-specific. If you wish to upgrade any of your iTunes Store content to iTunes Plus, you'll need to do so before you change the country associated with your account. The content you purchased while your account was set to the previous country will not be eligible for upgrade once you have changed countries.
    5) When you change countries, you will no longer receive app update notifications on your iOS device or in iTunes for the apps you purchased in your original country. However, you will still be able to download those applications again for free if they are present on your new country's store (even if they are updated). You will not be charged and the download will not appear on your Purchased page. If the app is not available in your new country, you will not be able to download it again for free.

Change iTunes account from Master Card to the Free account

You won't be able to redownload any of your UK purchases whilst you are in the US, you have to be in a country to use its store - and you can't merge purchases from two accounts or countries. No content should be removed from your device or computer's iTunes library if you change the country on your account, or create a new account and log into it.

  • I have purchased a used iPad. I would like to change iTunes account to my own?

I have purchased a used iPad. I would like to change iTunes account to my own - how do I do this and will I lose the apps that are already on there? Seems a shame - there is some nice stuff on it!

Restore the iPad with iTunes as a new iPad.
All apps, all paid and free apps include DRM protection which is tied to the iTunes account that was used to download the apps. In order to install an app update for an app that was downloaded with the previous owner's iTunes account, you need to know the password for the previous owner's iTunes account. This is to prevent stealing purchased apps. If any of the apps are free, you can download the apps with your iTunes account. For any paid apps, you need to purchase the apps with your iTunes account.

  • What happens if I change itunes accounts for my iphone ?

What happens to the data on my phone if I change Itunes accounts ?

What happens if you reset all settings?
    All settings will be reset.
No idea what you are asking.
You should not leave your phone number on a public forum.

  • HT1918 will i lose my music and apps when i change itunes account

can i change itunes account info and keep all my downloaded music?

Why would you make a new itunes account?
All of your purchases will be tied to the account from which they were purchasd.  You will need to authorize your computers for that account.

  • I've changed my account's country, adress, and phone number because I've moved and my purchased apps (from previous country) does not appear anymore, how do I fix it?

I've changed my account's country, address, and phone number because I've moved and my purchased apps (from previous country) does not appear anymore, how do I fix it?

That is the expected behavior. You will also no longer be alerted to any updates for that content.
If any of the content is sold in the new country's store and you find out through the grapevine about an update, you can update the content for free, but you will have to go through the steps for buying the update as a new purchase. Then the store will notice in the final steps that you own this content and update for free. It is the end of the road for any content from the previous country that is not sold in the current country's store. You will not be able to update the content in the new store.

  • Changing iTunes account to another country

I recently bought my teenage son an iPod when he was on holiday with me in the UK. We created an iTunes account for him and I gave him some credit to spend on apps. Now that he is back at home in Denmark, he cannot access the Danish App Store because whenever he logs in, it takes him to the UK store. This is a problem because his English is not at all good. He tried to create a new account in Denmark, but it would not let him because his email address is being used by the other account. He ended up creating a new account using his mother's email address. So all of his new apps are in his mother's name, but his other ones are owned by his English account. He would also like to change the registration of his iPad to his Danish account when he finally figures out how to do this. His current account is in his name, but at my address in the UK. Can anyone help?

  • Changing ITunes Account for Apps

How do I change my Itunes account for apps? When I go to update my apps, it still has my old account (my password does not work) and I have since created a new account (divorce issues). I have made a new password request for my old account and I do not get an email from Apple to do so. Everything else on my iphone is under my new account (Itunes, store, etc).
    VERY FRUSTRATING!

How do I change my Itunes account for apps?
You can't. Apps are DRM protected & tied to the account used to originally purchase them. Contact iTunes support & request they add the apps in question to your download queue for your new account. Explain the situation & most likely, they will do so:

  • How to change itunes account from one account holder to another

I previously set up different family members' accounts under my own itunes account. Now I'd like them to have their own accounts with their own payment information. How can I change each user's existing account information to get them off my account and onto their own?

I have 2 profiles on my Mac. iTunes is on both, but my music library is only on one of them. How do i move this library to the other profile, as i want to delete the profile it is on.
on the old account, move the iTunes folder to HD/users/shared. on the other account, moved it from shared to the music folder, overwriting the iTunes folder in place there.
fire up iTunes while pressing option and click on +choose library+. navigate to the iTunes library file (in the iTunes folder you just moved).

  • Different Apple ID's stuck in iPhone and MBP. Also, want to change iTunes account email.

    Hi,
I just got my first Macbook Pro (YAY!!), and after fiddling around with it for a couple of days I would like to take advantages of the features of syncing with iCloud in my new hardware and my iPhone 4 (basicly clean up account stuff and enable stuff like Photostream).
    I have two Apple ID's.
My [email protected] is used on my new Macbook Pro for iCloud: contacts, calendars, bookmarks, photostream, doc's and data and Find My Mac. It is also used on my iPhone 4 for contacts, calendars, reminders and Find My iPhone.
My [email protected] is used on my Macbook Pro for Mail & Notes, Calendars and Chat. It is also used on my iPhone 4 for iCloud: contacts, calendars, reminders, bookmarks, photostream, doc's and data and Find My iPhone.
To me it seems like my two Apple ID's are contributing with the same things from multiple sides etc. My hotmail used to be my primary email, but I've changed and started using google's services more (especially mail, notes, contacts and calendar). I would like to remove hotmail as primary mail from my devices and use my gmail account as primary instead, and at the same time of course redirect my visa from my hotmail iTunes account to my gmail Apple ID. I will still add my hotmail to get the mail in my iOS and OSX mail native mail programs, but only as a "secondary" account attachment.
I've been reading about these topics of merging multiple ID's as well as the answer to this question https://discussions.apple.com/message/16400957#16400957 , but I can't figure out where to start and what to do. Can anyone please help me, let me know what to do, in which order or point me in the right direction?
    Thanks in advance.
    Best regards,
    Esben
Ps. I've attached a screenshot of my iPhone 4's settings under @Mail, Contacts, Calendar@, hoping it makes it clearer what is on my iPhone, than I were in the text.

  • Changing iTunes account on iphone

I purchased a used iphone and did a restore to factory settings but when I still connect to the app store it brings up the previous owner's email address. I put the correct account in iTunes on the computer and synced. New apps were added on the sync but you can't from the app store on the phone.

Here is the official Apple article about changing the account: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1311
If that doesn't help, you could try Settings -> General -> Reset -> Erase All Content and Settings and then restore and sync the phone again.
